I’ve bought an Alexa Echo from a local pawn shop but when I tried to pair it didn’t worked. I’ve contact Amazon support and find out that the speaker is marked as lost/stolen and it can’t be used.
I asked them, if possible, to give me the owner contact details or contact the owner and give him my details to return the owner the good, but they didn’t want that.
Because of non-return policy I’m stuck with a Bluetooth speaker that didn’t work from iPhone.
Is there any way to rewrite some firmware so I can use the device?

Have the same issue. Bought a completely sealed with all security seals intact echo show. After a discussion with amazon they said it was lost/stolen and cannot be used.
Was looking if possible to bypass registration and just use it offline as a speaker / clock / whatever as oposite to a white box that doesn't do anything.

I sold my mda vario on ebay, i took it apart and cleaned it beofre i sent it off, i checked it was working all bar making any calls on it...the buyer is sending it back saying no one can hear them on it and that they took it into a shop and was told the mic was not working....im very suspicious (i wish i had made a call on it before i sent it out !!!) and wondering if they have swap a part over or something....i have read several threads regarding a HTC diagnostic program and have also read about it in the service manual, none of these threads have been answered and i have looked on the ftp site but can find no reference to it....IS IT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE HERE !!????...you basically install it to the sd card and it runs from there....you help would be greatly appreciated.
I had bought a O2 Atom last year, the problems were with the WI-FI ,
Submitted it to the O2 Service Center,
Result :
The told me the Main Board was faulty and did not have a replacement.
They would call me when and as it is available.
TILL date no call or replacement.
1 YEAR AND NO REPLACEMENT MAIN BOARD,

I am a WM phone user ever since it was launced. and a member here on the forum since 2003 keeping tracks regularly. I seriuosly recommend chosing a manufacturer who would handle customers, 800 $ for a phone is a significant amount, How many would like to see that go down the drain..

Why dont u ask them to provide you with a new unit. Or You can take them to consumer court.
And another one gets bitten by the Atom. You probably won't get a new board since O2's no longer supporting a vanilla Atom. Push for a new unit if you can.
(Frankly, I have no idea why nobody tried to take O2 and Quanta to court for knowingly releasing screwed up units out of the box. We ought to set precedents for this sort of thing, especially if its a unit we can't fix ourselves.)

i have O2 Atom ,, and 2 months ago i had a problem connecting the device to the PC ,,, i went to the service Center ,,they told me there's a problem in the board and they replaced it,, and it only took 2 weeks and they were so helpful,, i think it depends on the place ,, i live in Saudi Arabia ,,, anyway ask for a new unit ,, and they'll help u ,,,

I live in HK. I have just replaced my motherboad 1 month ago. however, I have waited for 2 months.
I had the same problem as well. I didn't leave my atom for them, they haven't called me. I have kept waiting for 2 months. So i went to O2 centre again and leave the phone to them. They replaced my atom motherboard within 3 days.
I am not sure how they work internally. But i suggest you dicusss with them face to face. Since they always forgot cases, they never call customer back.

the device cannot connect to any telco provider, changing the SIM card didn't change anything. it just won't register to the network, keeps searching...
so I leave it in the service center and they promised to call back which they never did. I have to repeatedly call them for status update. Then after almost a month they quote me S$400 plus for a mainboard replacement, which I refuse to pay, it's too much.. so I claimed back the device and still have to pay S$47 for a service charge.
furthermore.., the void sticker which covers the little screws in the back casing still intact. which means, during that time when my O2 is at the service center, they didn't even bother to check the inside component at all. and there's no sign of a hard-reset attempt too. so they just propose to change the mainboard without doing any physical checking at all.

I used the Xphone II in early days, then O2 change their repair service provider to some guy in Bugis Junction and I really don't like it. From then no O2 for me. I am actually contemplating of trading in my 818Pro for the atom exec cos the price is cheap now at M1. but seeing so much negative comments, i changed my mind.
I want an 818Pro but I found an Atom Exec before I found the Dopod. I think the Exec is an awesome phone. I've set mine up properly now and it is very good. Very fast and responsive, the O2 software is great -- O2 Plus works so well I don't have to install other musthaves I used to have like spb pocketplus, vBar, etc -- call reception is great and speaker volume is loud enough.
My only problems with it are the battery life -- but that's a problem with any PocketPC -- and the 2.5mm jack which outputs such poor quality sound, so if I want to use the phone as an MP3 player I have to use a bluetooth stereo headset (which in turn drains the battery life even faster).
The Atom Exec is an awesome phone, don't let all these negative comments deceive you.
PS -- the original Atom may be bad but the Exec is very good out of the box as far as I can tell.

Thkx Mochan. a bit of a confidence booster there. my 818Pro is only slow, and doesn't have A2DP or radio. I like to have radio, and it has macro camera mode, good for close up shots. Only if they have a more complete 818Pro.

I have one doubt: on my A3 2016 user manual for Marshmallow (the version installed) it clearly states that on Settings - Advanced Functions there should be an Easy Mute optinon, the one that allows us to flip the phone to mute. Anyone knows how come is this possible?
I have also been looking for this. In the store model it did work. On my phone it does not. I dicussed it with suport they said they thought it was due to a update and not fixable which i think is unfair since the manual says it can. Plus in the store it did and a reason why i bought it

I need some help for my android screen I bought about one month ago, I'm fighting with it to make Bluetooth and sound working...
Can somebody tell me how to activate Bluetooth as it shows not activated even after many factory reset...
And if possible how to change the firmware because not only Bluetooth but all android system seems to be locked...

By the way, I have also an issue with USB AUX sound : there is 2 seconds of lag and I don't know how to make it works normally.

If you bought this new I think the best thing you can do is contact the seller and ask them to replace or refund your money.
I don't think your problem will go away if you have reset it many times already.
If you flash it with a different rom it will invalidate your warranty.

Thanks for your answer but it's from AliExpress, in China so impossible to deal with the seller. I don't think he will refund me or send me new one but I'm trying to open a dispute and I'll see.
But I think I will keep the screen and I really need to change the firmware. If someone just can tell me if it's possible...
As expected, AliExpress asked me to return the screen to the seller with my money...
But I won't lose more money again...so can somebody tell me if it's possible to change the firmware or unlock Android system please ?

The "not activated" message does appear when no phone is connected, its just wrong translated, it should say "not connected".
Bluetooth can not be enabled for all devices on this units, it`s only programmed for the default KswBT App.
You have a BMW Snapdragon 625 Headunit with rather old 2.4.5 Software version, i recommend you to check out the F30 Forums, where you will find the latest 3.8.0 Version which has also global Idrive support

Hi this is my first post here after it being recommended from another forum
I’ve recently purchased a android unit for a 2012 Range Rover evoque and the USB port is not working. It’s the only one and there is power, it’s able to charge devices but I cannot use a memory stick or my CarPlay adapter
I’ve attached some photos of the system information from factory settings and a photo of usb device test
If anybody has any ideas on how I can fix this is would be hugely appreciated!

Seems to be a hardware issue. You should get in contact with the seller to get this fixed.
I’ve tried contacting the seller and unfortunately they are not interested/don’t want to help
Then open a dispute and send the unit back.

The last option is to connect a small USB hub but I would be sending it back because who knows down the track what other issues may arise.
I put a small hub in the middle of my center console so that all the USB's can be inserted at anytime.
Sending it back/disputes/refunds etc are not a option. I’m stuck with the unit and I’d really like to find a way to fix it

So how to find a way to fix it if the data connection is broken in a forum?
This is no software issue. It´s a real hardware issue.
Sending this crap back is the only option, if you don´t want pay for a repair at a local specialist.

I know from past experience with Linux/android boxes/libreelec/coreelec that 9 times out of ten a USB port that has 5v but no data is normally a software, firmware or kernel issue. I was told this and another forum would be the best place to get advice for these types of devices. Of course if sending it back was a option I wouldn’t even be here

Hey , i think i have a very similar version of this unit .
Mine is a new version for a 2012 RRS
I also had this issue ! , i resolved it by looking at the cable that goes into rear of the unit and one of the pins came unclipped. it happened after removing it so many times. Pushing it in fixed the issue.
Also, If this dont fix it. Enable developer mode . Looks for USB settings in there, theres an option in there that can change it from USB charging mode to data
Issues so far with mine
OEM interface didnt work - Update from seller
Overheating - Update from seller
Mic not working - Added a USB microphone
GPS signal weak - New GPS antenna
I am onto the last problem which is stopping me putting it in the car.
When ever i use Bluetooth Phone, I get a relay clicking sound from inside the unit . I then cant hear anything from the person on the other side. When i end the call it then clicks again and the stereo starts playing.
I also get the same clicking sound from Google Voice
Could you show me a pic of your phone app on your unit ? also.. Do you get what i mentioned above ?

- original car menus show a black screen with the digital version of the physical buttons it replaced Down the sides
-Reverse camera is also a black screen
-Usb not working as mentioned- I’ll try your cable fix though I’ve already enabled developer settings
-I haven’t had any overheating issues but I haven’t been on any journeys longer than a hour or so yet
Microphone is working ok and the Bluetooth audio and phone all work ok
I will add some photos tomorrow when I’m back with the car
