11.0.4.4 OS / IN2025 Model Help root/twrp recovery on current OS - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I need help with rooting and getting twrp on android 11 OS. I know that there is no current version of TWRP working for Android 11 for Oneplus 8 Pro, however is there a loophole to get twrp on android 11 with no issues being on android 10 first and then rooting the device while on android 10 then flashing twrp, then flashing a stable android 11 OS build. Basically, I'm looking for a detailed list on steps I need to take to get the pixel experience rom to work on this IN2025 model phone. If that means downgrading to android 10 rooting it then flashing twrp then flashing a android 11 zip file through twrp and keeping root that way however I need to make pixel experience rom work I would like as much help as I can get.

There's a Pixel Experience thread in the development section for the 8P. There's also a link to a TG group. Install questions will be best asked there.

updating the mi9t to Android 10

Will updating the mi 9t to Android 10 on a locked boot loader affect the process of rooting or installing twrp
Inconclosion shall I update it to Android 10 or just root on Android 9
And does twrp versions on this device affect the android version.
I mean let's say that Android = 9 twrp = 3.88.3 (as an example)
Will Android 10 require a different version of twrp or not .
I which I could simplify the question more
Thanks in advance

I need options to downgrade back to Android 9

Hello,
I desperatly want to downgrade my M30s (SM-M307FN) back to android 9.
It seems that i have no chances with the official firmwares because my current bootloader is now ver 3 and there is no ver 3 android 9 firmware.
My current Software is :
PDA = M307FNXXU2BTD1
CSC = M307FNOJM2BTG1
What are my available options ?
If I unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP, would that allow me to use the official android 9 firmware and downgrade ?
IF not?
Is there Any know stable Custom Roms that would bring me Android 9 and known to work smoothly on M30s ?
I have no experince with custom roms, so i need directd roms recommendations if possible.
Please
If your device supports Treble, then you can flash GSI using TWRP. You can learn if your device support Treble by installing this app: Treble Check. You'll see all of the information you will need. By the way, please be careful about the partitioning of your phone. If it is A/B partitioned, then you will need an A/B GSI.
You can also check the GSI list here : GSI list.

Can you just downgrade OOS to Android 10 and then flash TWRP or is it impossible?

Hi, I recently bought an used OnePlus 8 Pro and it was already updated to Android 11. After repairing it, I discovered that it's not possible to run TWRP on this firmware version.
Couldn't I just go ahead and downgrade the OS in order to run TWRP on it or is it basically impossible like on the latest Samsung Galaxy S-series devices?
Would be glad if someone could answer me that question. I kinda tried to boot into twrp because I was too quick to read the thread but it just caused my device to run into Qualcomm Emegency Mode.
What do you need twrp for? If it's just to root and almost everything else... It can be done via other means.

Hmmmm the way I've seen a lot of custom roms... They're installed/flashed partition by partition in bootloader via fastboot.....I guess if you have to use twrp to flash the entire rom you do need to downgrade to os 10.

Thank you for your response. i think i just did not catch up the latest progress. Would you please help me find the instruction about how to flash rom in the new way you mentioned ? thank you so much.
And i still have the same question , is it necessary for us to downgrade to android 10 and then start flashing rom.
Look at the roms in the subforum here:

I just looked at some popular ones like Pixel experience and Lineage and they're both flashed in this way. Look at the opening post where the instructions are... Seems like Pixel Experience there's a batch file that flashes the partitions but it's essentially done this way without twrp.

thank you for your reply, I already tried to flash pixel experience, i followed the install guide but failed to flash its recovery file.

Because it requires installing rom from recovery, so I get stuck here.
The problem is the device enters crash dump mode when switched to recovery mode. I guess the reason is that my p8pro is in andriod 11 before i flash recovery. now the device can enter android 11 normally but the recovery don't function. So I am here to ask is it necessary for me to downgrade to android 10 to solve the problem.

Thank you for your reply, it help me a lot. i have already flash my device lineage os . Regarding the problem i mentioned in my last reply, it seems the install guide is for android 10. As for android 11 , i think it needs a payload dumper to extract all files and flash them one by one.

I think the answer depends why do you need twrp. If you just want to flash a rom like me, you can find a custom rom supporting android 11,for example lineage os and you can flash all files it requires without twrp.
If you want to flash a android 10 rom or you just want to flash twrp , i don't know how, maybe you should downgrade.

New to device

Hey guys! So, coming from nexus 7 2013, oneplus 6t, 7 pro and 8 pro. I need help understanding how to get twrp onto this device. Get root in 2023

Hello,
I just bought a second-hand OP8P with the version IN2025_11.F.62.
I previously owned a OnePlus 3T so I'm new to all those A/B partitions, seamless updates, patched boot image,... I read a lot but getting a root access with Magisk is still confused. Some threads are outdated, some fellows redirect users to OP 8T threads (like this one)...
So I need you guys
What is the best way to root the OP8P in 2023? What is the best solution to go back to stock (OOS)?
Thank you in advance for your support.
EDIT: the answer
Twrp and Magisk Not Installing on OnePlus 8 Pro. Android 13
I want to install twrp and magisk on op 8 pro but I couldn't find any resources. I tried to install twrp in fastboot mode, this time it does not enter recovery mode. I found some information for Magisk installation, but I couldn't find anything...

A user shared the Magisk patched boot.img for your device here, you could try that. I don't know if OOS 13 is still as easy to root as OOS 11 was, so maybe wait for someone that knows better to reply here lol. Oh and I poked you on Telegram
