Hello all, I'm Pier, I'm new to this forum, I like the Android world and I want to learn to make a rom. It's one month that I've an Elephone s8. Elephone has also produced Soldier, a model with helio x25 CPU, same rear camera and same screen resolution of s8, but it's have Android 8.0 Oreo. I would ask you if it's possible to port the Elephone soldier version of Android Oreo to our s8 and if these porting can port treble on it. Thank you for your beautiful forum!

ok, so there are 130 models with snapdragon 410 or 8916 as you call it cpu, and can someone port some stock rom from them, cause i can't find any other lenovo device with this cpu that runs higher android then 4.4 kitkat...
i would be nice there are some samsung models j3,j5, or maybe motrola moto g4 play or moto g3, or maybe huawei honor 4x, dunno but there are many phones and i would like to test it with many roms, i am writing this just to give u some idea..

It's a drivers problem I think so. But I'm not a developer so I can't help but it's a pity that so good phone get stuck on Android 6. On my previosly phone Xperia T from 2012 i had Lineage 14.1 fully working and will be propably oreo fully working.
Of course we all sad with the stuck at android 6 ...the question is there is hope to update our phones higher than android 6 or its ahopeless case

We recently had the confirmation : The Galaxy S9 is officially supported by the Project Treble.
So here is my question : Do you guys think that we could have (unofficial) support for Treble thanks to S9 port ?
As S8 and S9 hardware are close, would it be technically possible to port Treble from the Galaxy S9 to the Galaxy S8 ?

I guess that's a good guess
dev managed to port treble to some xiaomi phones because they have a cust partition which is used to port treble, S8 doesn t have it and obviously we have no active dev working on aosp/los therefore no one possibly working on it
Okay great... So now I just have to wait for a good phone to be released (without notch and with Treble) to replace my S8. Tired of TouchWiz !

The devs who are currently working on lineage os for s8/s8+ have said they have no plans on porting treble for the devices

No, no have any Android 10 Port for J7 Pro because J7 Pro using Exynos but only Samsung add Exynos for Galaxy device so you can't have AOSP Android 10 or Havoc OS, Pixel Experience for J7 Pro but if you want use Android 10 for J7, Porject Spaget will help you but you need forget Volte because AOSP not support Samsung Volte
