usb c to 3.5 mm - Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus Accessories

Having a bunch of Samsung 3.5 headsets from my N9, ordered on Amazon usbc to 3.5 mm adapter to realize they don't work. Tried all kind of tricks, some apps that are supposed to fix it ... nah, nothing.
Then read somewhere Apple adapter works ok - went to BBuy, $10 CAD - aaaand it's working, giving new life to my headphones

This works well.

You can't use a mini-USB adapter. You'll actually need an adapter with the proprietary HTC plug on it. They're all over eBay for very cheap. I got mine for like $1.95, but it broke down in less than a year. You can buy HTC branded ones for a little bit more. Probably worth it, in my experience, although now I'm all about the bluetooth audio.

Haha true... that's the only time I revert to WinMo. I hate doing it so much, but there isn't another practical method to listen to my podcasts in my car at the moment.
IIRC, my phone came with the adapter to a 2.5" headset. I don't think it's stereo though. Is that the adapter you are using, or a third party one?

Yeah, especially since the stupid USB adapter that comes with the Vogue doesn't even have a 3.5mm jack on it.

Does anyone know of a good vogue to 3.5 mm adapter? i'm really desperate for one, every one I buy seems to have crackling, and not work! very frustrating!
I just plug headphones into a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter and then into the supplied usb Y-splitter that came with my vogue. You can find them everywhere online and at places locally like radio shack.... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2603246 or try something like these... http://www.google.com/products?oe=U...esult_group&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBgQzAMwAA
When I first bought my vogue I bought a bunch of cheap accessories for it including an htc ExtUSB to 3.5 mm adapter. I would say that the quality you will get out of it is limited to the DACs (digital to analog converters) built in the phone. I have found it to be acceptable for a phone. The output power of the thing even manages to handle a pair of larger headphones I have at a respectable volume.
All that to say: If you are expecting audiophile grade audio, don't waste too much money on headphones if you aren't going to use them on anything else. It doesn't sound bad though.
A while ago I bought a decent pair of bluetooth in-ear headphones and I am very pleased with those.
Since I bought that I cut apart one of my other htc accessories to make a nice cable that allows me to listen to music in my car from my phone while charging out of one cable.

I guess I can do that, was just hoping for a less bulky solution but perhaps it won't be so crackly using the included stuff
this will work fine, is cheap, and small.

strange, I tried this and the sound coming through is only mono. I used a stereo 2.5 to 3.5 so I don't know what else could be wrong
Power to the Headphones might be an issue if you are getting crackling.
You could try getting one of those mini-amps for high-end head phones
when the device isnt out putting enough power but of course that is just
more cost/pocket space :<

USB-C Audio Out

so im looking to replace my current phone. i was considering the hauwei mate 9 but i cant bring myself to give that damned company any more of my money. they make great hardware by their skin (EMUI) is horrendous! anyway, it seems that im going to go for the G6 since the price keeps dropping. my only gripe is the headphone jack placement.
i honestly dont care if my next phone has it or not but if it does it needs to be on the bottom. but seeing as my top pick is the G6 im hoping to have options. so, has anyone tried using a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter? if so, which one?? any and all help is appreciated!

I bought an Essential PH-1 and returned it.
But I also bought an extra charger and adapter on eBay.
Completely stock. The one from a Moto Z works also. My wife has a Moto Z.
I have tried a number of USB-C to 3.5mm adaptors on my unrooted LG-H870DS with no luck. The last two I ordered I made sure they were USB-C 3.1 and still nothing. The phone never detects anything when I plug it in.
If anyone can find one that does work without root, please let me know!

I'm using the one that came with an Essential PH-1.
I'm also using a set of earbuds with USB-C.
If you are paying less than about $10, it's not going to work.
You need a USB-C digital audio interface.
There is an analog spec and those cheap cables implement analog.
The digital spec adapters have a USB DAC and AMP in the cable and will cause the phone to supply power.
This should work:
https://www.theverge.com/circuitbre...-ultra&acc=usb-c-digital-to-3-5mm-htc-u-ultra
Search for "usb-c dac headphone adapter"

The problem with trying to use the USB-C without a digital cable and just the jack wire to the two extra pins, is that not everyone supports analog audio over USB-C.
The only way to be sure a USB-C audio adapter will work is to use a digital adapter with a DAC and headphone amp in the dongle.
You will immediately know if it works because it will require power from the USB-C port.
A $2 adapter probably won't work as it will be analog only.

There were a few out there already:
Zorloo Z:ero and Aero.
The Z:ero needs a micro to USB-C adapter of the correct type. This one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B018G6IK7E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
so it seems that the pixel adapter price has been slashed in half! now lets wait and hope for a black version!

Hi!
Which exact moderl of usb-c earbuds with integrateg DAC are yuo using? I have read some people having issues with some DACs on the g6 precisely due to usb-c error, such as battery draining
What about sound quality between that amp&dac dongles and original headphone jack (not quad dac) ? Should google dongle have better audio performance than G6 headphone jack?

Q: Best USB-C to 3.5mm + charger adaptor

I'm looking for an adaptor that I can use on my Tab S7+ with my existing 3.5mm headphones but still charge at the same time (thinking of long flights).
Having a look online, it looks like some USB-C to 3.5mmm adaptors don't work on all devices and not all charger adaptors are equal. Can anyone advise me on a suitable adaptor?

Apple usb-c to 3.5mm. it is best value for the cost. <$10 on amazon. It works like DAC, digital to audio converter that cost much more by any other company. If the sound matters, get it and then. If you want to charge, purchase a usb-c hub that gives you power and the other stuff you might want like hdmi out and additional usb c ports.

old school hyperdrive
if you want it all... check out the hyperdrive:
https://www.hypershop.com/products/hyperdrive-6-in-1-hub-for-ipad?variant=19332717412414
i picked this up on the kickstarter campaign when it first came on the scene. i was using the ipad pro then.
i forgot i had this thing until the thread reminded me of it.
it has all you need. hdmi, SD card, microsd, hdmi, type c with pd charging, 3.5mm jack, usb... the who ball of wax. worth the coin.
It actually not really matters which adapter you buy - as long it includes a DAC.
I got these two (all < 15 €):
JSAUX USB-C Headphone Adapter and Charging
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08B3MY35T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
ESR USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B089GVWNF2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
both work well. And the cable is rather good quality - so a bit hard to bend. That's fine, as some years a ago the first I bought failed after 1 month of usage due to the cable.
I bought them as they where the cheapest of all options and the review told they have solid cables.
Also a rather old one I bought 3 years ago works (do not know the brand, sorry).
But: you need one with a DAC - I bought some very cheap from china without, and: no audio.
The first one offers simultaneously charging, but is bigger in size. And I do not hear any white noise, though some user review report so. Might also depend on the head phones you are using? Also: a DAC requires battery. So: unplug them if not needed.
Now: I only need a cheap but worthy hub. The only I found interesting so far offers no headphone jack...
The other (link) below did the job but was not fitting.
Maxonar USB C Hub for iPad Pro 2018 Type C 6 in 1 Hub with USB 3.0 (5 Gbps)
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07VMK7GTT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I liked the fact to have an usb-a, charging+data usb-c, audio, and hdmi port. However, all other option either are reported to wobble. So any suggestion is highly appreciated.
BTW: I own the tab s7, but this should not matter. Both should work with the s7+ as well.
