Smart Watch Advice - Other SmartWatches

I'm looking for a smartwatch for about $100. I might be willing to go up to $150. Refurb or used is fine. I definitely would like something thats got a fairly acurate hear rate monitor and step counter. Ecg and blood 02 would be nice but probably asking a bit much in this price range. I don't care about taking calls on my watch but do want the ability to atleast see who is calling and the option to answer or reject would be nice. If my Tinwoo Smartwatch from Amazon for $40 can do it, I dint for see that being an issue. A keyboard function on the watch would be nice. It definitely need to receive notifications for the Workplace Messenger by Facebook app. Any advice? Oh and ill be paring it with a Samsung Note 10+.

Check information over in the smartwatch forum:

Sadly the xda mobile app claims the forum doesn't exist when trying to start a thread there.

I don't use or know about the app. Noticed this thread and watch discussion:
What smart watch to buy?
I never bought a smart watch in the past but am interested in doing so now. What's the best bang-for-the-buck smart watch I can buy? I use a Samsung Galaxy Android phone so I'm guessing an Apple Watch is off the list. I would prefer one that has...

I appreciate the response but don't really see much useful information there. I see links to youtube review playlists, which would be great if I wanted to spend 10 hours watching reviews. Other than that, I see what seems like a reasonable statement. There is no smartwatch that will truly tick all the bells and whistles. Also, when it comes to many of the Chinese variants available, you have a 50-50 chance on any one particular model as to whether it it works good or works like cheap knock-off tech. So I was looking for suggestions on a watch that ticks the particular boxes I am looking for. From there, all I can do is order and pray for a good batch.

Im in the same boat.
I have looked at all three of these watches, what i dislike about the W3 from i have seen is it has a clamp style charger.
Im leaning more towards the Mlais Smart Watch which looks really nice, just waiting for some reviews first.

Yes..i agreed about w3, further more, i kind diasgree when u have to flash new firmware b4 it can work fully. It should be ready out of the box.
Mlais is using android 5.1...maybe it same like howear rom..but, from what i know, once it use 5.1, thats mean its not companion anymore, its mire like standalone without simcard..(correct me if im wrong)
I really cant wait for the mlais as after pre-order sales end, the price will be higher (ridiculous high)
I like Rwatch but it has flatyre screen and from the internet i can say this ine having problem with touchscreen and heart rate sensor..
And as i pre order ulefone future phone, i really want to try this GW01..
I think its weird but i cant find any info here in xda..
Maybe because its very good no problem at all or
Nobody use it, buy it..

Yer i know, same problem i have.
The Ulefone GW01 was my first choice before i seen the mlais watch now just cant choose.
as for rom flashing and standalone devices i really have no clue.
Im also looking for a smartwatch that can change clock skin, msg notifacation, without sim and circular shape and possibly heart rate monitor.
Tomorrow is the last day at GB for the discount for GW01..after that the price will be usd99+
I will appreciate any opinions
I wish i would find more video about this ulefone watch but i couldn't.
Mlais is not a bad option..in fact, from what iv know, this is only watch come with 5.1 out of the box..
Could someone tell me, this 5.1 android without simcard are actually as companion as zeblaze series in term of push notifications.
I see video by darkanglez (maybe wrong spelling) and frank tee about w3 new rom..but it not cover enuff about notifications..but it does produce a great video about general. I can see on those video that it has developer option, runing 5.1 rom.

I will not trust their answers..i trust more xda if someone could answer it..
Gearbest also reply that this watch cant change the band infact this watch could.
Like zeblaze, it has fix 5 clock face and through fundo u could add 3 extra which is so ugly...but it can add some extra trough apps installed in fundo.
If this ulefone can support more clock face..its really good..but actually, have u guys know that any companion watch that can add extra face?
W3 can but after flashing new rom (howear)
Mlais uknown, but think of it will be running 5.1, it should be able to change any watch face available.
Rwatch r11?..

Yer from my understanding the Moto 360 has the ability to change clock skins, push notifications.
and as time passes by the Moto 360 1st gen is looking better and better especially for the price.
I was just looking for something cheaper and different.
Yes..moto 360 can change clock skin, and still pricey even 1st gen (esp for me..)
Become forgot about mainstream brand since looking the chinese brand..(mainstream brand use snapdragon processor)
Oukitel a29 really good but with simcard

Another 2 watches i have been looking out for are:
Ticwatch - which looks amazing has nice features but as far i can see only available in China. (no good for me)
Bluboo Xwatch - looks good so far with four customizable buttons but very minable info on the item/release date.
Yeah...bluboo xwatch. They produce a good phone, they should done the same with smartwatch..but im afraid it will not companion, recent trend chinese smartwatch maker tend to use simcard as selling point.
Ticwatch use 5.1 with option to run full android wear..its interesting untill i see the price around usd158-160
For the price tag, mlais seen better choice if...5.1 they use are companion.
Moto first gen at usd99 also good...
Which one to choose..sigh..
Ulefone gw01 or moto 360 1st gen

If i had to choose now i would go moto 360 considering how much community/company support it has, as the Ulefone gw01 has no real review or community support yet.
the major downside to the moto 360 is the back is made if glass and alot of people saying it always cracks, so it has its flaws.
Its just so hard to decide when the info your looking for isn't available.

I'm a bit skeptical about it being truly from ulefone after watching the video below, no ulefone branding anywhere..
(video not in english)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7LYIastZnw
There is Ulefone Logo on the crown..but nothing at bottom case..even nothing on the box..
Without any announchment by Ulefone..this is maybe another chinese smartwatch..haha..hard to say..
If this works like i want..then its worth.
Or maybe..hunting for new watch again..

Why is a companion watch for iPhone with customizable watchfaces so difficult to find

First off, I've done about a day of research and I'm amazed by the sheer number of Chinese smartwatches there are on Aliexpress.
Back story: I came from an Apple watch which I bought with the idea "function over form". Soon enough, the square shape started to bother me so I sold it. Also, the fact that you can't choose custom watchfaces on a $700 watch is just plain ridiculous.
I kinda thought I was going to stick to plain watches (I'm somewhat of a collector), but I miss the notifications. So I started looking for a round alternative that works with my iPhone and supports custom watchfaces. I first checked out Android Wear (I like the look of the Huawei Watch), but quickly learned that you can't load custom watchfaces by default on iPhone. I know there's a huge workaround for that, but I don't want to bother with that honestly.
So I started looking into these Chinese smartwatches. The problem is, that you either seem to have a companion watch (without SIM) where you can't change watchfaces, or you have a phone watch (with SIM) with customizable watchfaces. I don't need nor want a watch with a seperate SIM card. My requirements are simple: round shape, no sim, notifications, customizable watchfaces. Siri & calling from the watch would be a big plus. I don't want to spend more than $100 on the watch though.
I already ordered a No. 1 G5 since I liked the look and read somewhere that you can indeed change the faces (limited to 2), but the resources are so damn limited that I'm not so sure anymore. Officially, No. 1 says that custom watchfaces aren't supported. And then there's the question of getting extra data in the faces, like date etc. It doesn't seem the G5 supports this, if it supports custom faces at all. At this point, I'm utterly confused.
So is there somebody who can help a poor soul out?

No new watch in 2018 so far.

Get mixed feelings with Wear OS devices, most Android Wear Watch forums are dead and what does that say about the popularity of the devices when one of the best the LG Sport is no longer available.
Yet I seen articles saying this segment is increasing demand is increasing.
People the own them generally love them.
I think half the reason is you get "experts" saying they see no point. Having a smartphone in your pocket is just as convenient as having a watch on your wrist. Tell them get a vibration I glance at my watch and decide to answer later, they prefer to have their devices making noises "annoying anybody around them", fishing out their device just to find out the got a new SPAM email.
Looking for something new all the time and it needs to support Android Pay, so cool to just tap with my wrist. The "experts" of course will tell you fishing the phone out of your pocket is just as convenient.
When will we see something new ?

iTouch Air 2 Smartwatch - Anyone have any info?

I just bought an iTouch Air 2 smartwatch. But I cannot find ANY - I mean ANY - info on the tech specs, even on their supposed website.. It is available in many stores like Macy's, or Kohl's or Target etc. The website for the watch is
https://itouchwearables.com/products/itouch-air-2?variant=12482537717783
I cannot even add a new watch face besides the 3 pre-installed, which are pretty bad.
I would appreciate any info on this watch, and also if it can be hacked .... Thanks!!

From the fcc pictures, it has a mt2502dv so it's an embedded CPU so no full android so you have limited hacking other than switching the watch face.
Google 2ALERITAIR2017 to get the pictures for yourself

Yes, I found the FCC pages, but there were only pics of the inside. I am not competent enough to figure out what it is. So thanks again.
Have you come across any kind of hacking for this hardware? I found a few Chinese pages, but is it possible to even modify the software in any way?

There is misc threads here on xda, but they don't seem to have progressed very much sadly.
Looking for info on any iTouch wearables devices. Especially the Air and Curve.
Like those before me, I've had an incredibly difficult time finding any technical info. Shame considering how cheap and widely available this device is.
The air is particularly puzzling as how to proceed. The charging port is not a standard USB and looks like there is no data transfer that route. Though I never before thought to ask this question, Google indicates others have: It may be possible to flash firmware over Bluetooth...
I got an Air as a gift, so no real loss if I mangle it beyond repair in the process of exploring. Given how cheap these things are, for $50 I'd even pick up a couple extra.
I'd like to be able to control smart-home devices via the watch. I think I could rig up something to communicate with a full Android device via Bluetooth -- like using a push notification or even sms to trigger an event - like to change a setting on my home thermostat.... but that's just circumventing the limitations of the iTouch and not actually adding something useful, so kinda boring.
What I'd really like to do is customize the interface on the watch itself.

Help me choose a sub-$50 watch!

I'm looking to get a relatively inexpensive bluetooth smartwatch, around $50 or less and I'm overwhelmed by the choices out there. I have a feeling there are some experts who have tried a bunch of these watches and know the chipsets.
My #1 need is accurate-ish SpO2 monitoring and tracking (automatically every 15 mins or so)
Beyond that the main requirements are:
- Able to see text messages in my google voice app
- See who is calling from google voice app
- Heart Rate & Blood Pressure monitoring
- Notifications from other apps but not all apps or getting flooded by phone is charging notifications
- A list of upcoming appointments/calendar integration
- Ability to create my own watch face
- Timer/Stopwatch
I've tried a few things like a knockoff GTS2 which I got for 12 dollars, but no custom watchfaces, doesn't work well with google voice (just says google voice is working in the background instead of showing the actual text msg or call), and what's even worse is that the runmefit app floods the watch with useless notifications if you charge the phone or are using gps driving directions.
So please let me know if there's anything that you think would work!
Thanks!
With smart devices, you get what you pay for. I have serious doubts that you'll find something that meets your criteria under $200, much less $50.

That's probably true, but there are so many that by specs seem to, even the Amazfit Bip (around 30-40 bucks right now) is a possibility, but not having actually used them, it's worth asking those who have!
Well, you may have better luck if you expand your budget to $100 at least, $150 even better. I would be concerned about potential quality and performance issues with knockoff brands. Tech costs money.
