Downgrade from OOS 10.0.1 to 10.0.0? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Can i downgrade from OOS 10.0.1 to 10.0.0 by dirty flashing the old Rom on top of the new one? I want to avoid having to configure everything again and installing all apps all over again, so i wanted to know if there is any shortcut for downgrading.
In case you are wondering, it's because i dont like the OOS 10.0.1 video stabilization feature, which sometimes takes too long to save a video after it has been recorded or it has some weird zoom ins and zoom outs when recording in a dark room.

have you tried using any other camera apps?
GCAM seems to be the best alternative to oos cam, try recording with it and see if you're satisfied with its results.
as for downgrading, I don't have any idea, but I don't think that you can dirty flash it, so I highly recommend you not to do so.

I had same issue. One plus 5 (@10.0.1), was having problems where video files would take very long to save. Additionally none of my video recordings record with audio. Ran like this for months until my nerves quit,
I finally did a factory reset and everything was good for a week but the problem came back. I have no audio when saving selfie or rear cam videos. Doesnt matter if i record, 720, 1080, 1080-60, or 4k, same damn error. About to toss this phone in the trash. It's clearly a software bug of some sorts. Clearing cache/storage on camera app doesn't fix. Using different 3rd party camera app doesnt work. Restarting and clearing phone's system cache doesnt fix either. Dont think running a second factory reset is worth my time and the hassle as it will probably produce the same error in the long run yet again.
Factory stock- Gallery app 3.7.32, and camera app 3.0.69.
Thinking of downgrading to OS v9 or perhaps downgrading the camera app? Do you know if either is possible nowadays?

[Q] Camera Making Cracking Noise while focussing

I updated my Nexus 4 to Kitkat recently and now I am facing problem while taking pictures.
As soon as an image is captured the camera makes a cracking noise from the backside. Sound is like some switch going on and off "tik tik tik tik"
and then if I minimize the camera app phone can used and camera app can be closed and reopened again.
But if I keep it cracking then within 2 secs the phone freezes and restarts itself.
I tried using other apps like Cymera and I am able to take pictures without any problem.
This problem occurs 50% of the times I use stock camera app. Sometime works fine sometimes hangs up.
How do I get rid of this?
Google support suggested factory reset. I have not rooted my phone. Is there any way I can backup few important apps with their data on PC before I try factory reset?
Thanks in advance!!

I think its caused by camera's focus mechanism and it is just a little click noise but yes sometimes it makes very audible noise, especially with HDR function(which does not focus when you press to focus it just seems green. It only focuses when you move phone or it is just me). Can you check and listen closely if other camera apps doing that click noise when you focus ? I dont think factory reset solve this because I do several factory resets and flashing 4.4 it does not change a thing.
I get that ticking sound as well but only sometimes when I open or close anything that uses the camera, never during focusing. I can't imagine factory reset would help but if you're gonna give it a shot I'd recommend Helium to backup apps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup though I think you'd need root to backup any system app data.
Problem Solved
Thanks Scrye & AlderCass,
I did factory reset and tried camera it was working fine. Then google started installing my apps and after that was complete I started getting the problem again. So I got skeptical about some app making the stock camera malfunction. I removed an app called cymera and rebooted the phone.
and to my relief it started behaving awesome like before

Can take & save photos, but not video

Ok, I've got a Sprint Samsung GS4 (SPH-L720) running AOKP jb-mr2 Milestone 1... basically, android 4.3.1. Its got the NAE base band and its running the latest Chronic Kernel.
I recently had to do a factory reset after the phone got stuck in boot loop, but upon resetting and restoring the phone, play store restore, not nandroid or titanium, I have discovered that the phone wont record video...
At first i thought that maybe it was that I always swap out the AOKP (AOSP) camera for the JB Google experience camera, but upon further testing found that the phone just seems to not be able to record ANY video, except in ONE case... The video camera wont record, instagram wont record and vine will record and save ONLY if the full length of a vine is recorded... In each case, the app counts as if it IS recording, but when stopped, the regular camera just resets and doesn't save. On instagram and vine, the progress bar resets to zero...
Using the STOCK AOSP camera, I believe, when you stop recording, it'll say something like "cant save, video is too short"...
If I set the camera to record a time lapse, that seems to work fine and all the apps can take pics, but what none of the apps seem to be able to do is SAVE whatever they are capturing... I know I've recorded before my last factory reset though because I recorded some clips of something I wanted to remember that I played on the piano, and I can play those back just fine, but now, I just cant record video...
I don't know how it worked once before and after doing a factory reset it suddenly doesn't work, you would figure that if the camera wasn't working, maybe a FR would fix it, but it's gone the other way...
This has been a constant aggravation for me and I've searched high and low, trying to avoid starting a thread on something that was asked before at any point, for anyone who may be able to know why none of the apps seem to be able to save captured video...
There's got to be someone on XDA who knows this or that has maybe encountered this... Someone, please help!

Camera App Crashes After Updating

After updating to the newest pure nexus, my camera app crashes on every load. Ive tried clean flashing, making sure the vendor image is correct, setting up as a new device, using different gapps, etc. Ive really done a lot trying to get it work from a bruteforce standpoint.
The away facing camera works in snapchat / other camera apps, but I cannot get the front facing camera to work in any of them. I would think its a hardware problem except this only happened after updating.
Attached is the log file.

Video recording not working on h990ds Stock Rom with Magisk

Has anyone had issues with video recording?
I had noticed before that my V20's default camera wasn't recording correctly (audio can be heard, but video has no motion). I thought it was because it was set to 4k recording and that for some reason that didn't work correctly. Did not paid much attention to the issue till yesterday.
I recall having recorded some videos other times without problem. But yesterday, there was no way I could rec a video.
Tried all available resolutions (UHD, FHD 60, FHD, HD) and disabled steady rec & focus, basically enabled/disabled all video recording options. But no motion at all. In manual mode, when set to 1 or 2 fps. I have some movement (but obviously cannot record a normal video at all).
I tried Open Camera, but it's the same, cannot record any video (With Camera 2 Api on or off)
The only app I could get to record a video was Footej Camera (but cannot record to 60 fps, so it's like my videocamera is crippled or something)
I got the 10F firmware. (specifically H990ds10f_00_OPEN_TW_DS_OP_0622.kdz)
Has someone an advice or something I can do? I already tried disabling/enabling and clearing data of the camera app, but no luck.
Thnaks in advance
PS. Yesterday when I first had the issue in the morning, I rebooted the phone and recording worked again for a while.
But last night, tried the same and it didn't worked at all. Today I did the same, nothing.
Another update: Downloaded Google Camera port for Snapdragon 820, and the problem persists. I've noticed that if I force stop/clear data of the camera app, and reboot. It records video after rebooting. But tried again like 5 minutes later and it didn't record anything again.
I was messing with Titanium Backup and the camera app, and I was forced to factory reset my h990ds. Problem still persists. Could it have something to do with @emdroidle custom kernel?
Does someone has a hint or something?
UPDATE: Tried @Leicxan 's modded werewolf kernel 2.0 (no rctd) and haven't had issues with video recording or camera focus.

even i have that problem, most probably kernal is making some issue
i rooted my v20 with dirtysanta and installed some other kernal given in the post,so may be kernal is creating some issue
please please please somebody help
It is a known issue, but depending on your camera sensor(lg are manufacturing V20 with different sensors) you can make it work.
Head over to the root thread for more info.
Try using Footej Camera from the play store & you should be fine...
Possible solution?

I was reffered to this kernel by emdroidle https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73294716&postcount=391
I flashed the no rctd kernel based on werewolf 2.0 by leicxan. I no longer have issues with video recording, neither with autofocus (at least at this point). I have been running this kernel for a week now and i haven't had issues.
Hope it helps you

I think this is not a "real" solution, just an avoidance of the problem. But I managed to get my cam working thanks to emdroidle and leicxan.

weird camera issue with all custom roms

Hi everyone, this is to request to fix a weird issue. I have flashed following roms for my G4 plus(Xt1643) : Invicta Os, RR, Pure nexus, Hexagon os. There are various versions of these roms available , I have tried them all and many a time their new updates.
I always make a clean fresh install just to be sure. The thing is whatever rom i flash I have a weird issue, that of camera. Whenever I use camera, the device gets very heat up, and while using video recording it lags like hell. It fells like it has skipped a million frames.
And many a times device gets shut down while it got heat up. I have tried many camera apps with these roms like snap camera, moto camera, motorola camera, google camera, htc camera, cameringo, footej camera.
Only footej and cameringo seem to work, but sometime they also show the same issue. And auto focus in cameringo doesn't work in video recording mode, but works in footej.
The thing which surprise me the most is everything works fine in STOCK rom!! Otherwise I would have thought it as a hardware issue. I have used enough stock rom and I flash custom roms sometimes just in hope that this time the issue will get resolved, but no luck.
I don't want to use stock rom anymore. Please suggest me a custom rom which doesn't cause this issue; if anyone else with this issue got any fix PLEASE HELP.
