Hermes as a WIFI Accesspoint?

So I've been wondering and searches result in nothing, has anyone been able to share the 3G internet via 802.11 wireless on a hermes phone? (I have an 8525)
Sure would be sweet to be able to share the internet via wifi on my phone and play some PSP games online from anywhere That is my main goal.
Anyone crossed over someone trying to do this or know for sure its impossible?
I dont know....I'm just curious.
You sure you used search?
Anyway, here is a link to Wifi Sharing

You da man strika
Yeah i wasnt searching the General Discussion section only the hermes stuff
Unfortunately it will not work on the PSP...computer to phone via wifi is fine because its an adhoc connection. the psp can only do adhoc games via adhoc, no internet or infrastructure games
Oh well...now i can share my phone to laptops LOL

Tethering ideas?

Hello.
I have a rooted Chinese dual SIM phone. I've been tethering to my laptop using my phone networks unlimited phone data plan for the past couple of years but finally they've cut me off for cheating.
I've been googling how to get round the tethering detection solid for 24 hours now with no definitive answer. Almost all the responses on the search relate to either people in America having their tethering options removed (not me) or people who think all they have to do is switch their browsers user-agent.
Obviously any windows 7 laptop runs dozens of services that use the internet, even if its just checking for updates through the day, all of which can rightly be flagged up as tethering traffic.
I'm quite poor and don't want to spend more than I currently do for the internet, I use about 10GB a month just now with hundreds of calls and texts free for £12 (Giffgaff). I have another secret Giffgaff sim that isn't activated yet, the network coverage here is pretty good compared to the rest so I'm keen to stay with them.
I've read a lot about VPN's but tbh I don't trust them, I can't see why a network wouldnt be able to detect that straight away? Am I wrong there?
The ideal solution for me would be an app on the phone that routes all traffic through the device, so that everything they see looks as though it has come from my phone. Setting up the phone as a VPN server would work I think, then connect the computer to it when I need it, I've no idea where to start though.
You'd think this would be a problem with a common, working solution, given how useful it is. Sadly Google is clueless on this one.
VPN data should be encrypted so they cannot see what's in it. The only problem you have is trust/security. Do you trust the VPN server to handle your data safely.
Next solution would be to set your home PC as a VPN server. That way your data is your data. But that does mean leaving your PC on when you want to tether.
Data flow:
Laptop ===> Phone ===> ~~Mobile Internet~~ ===> Home PC -----> ~~Home Broadband~~ -----> To the internet
===> VPN secured
-----> Regular transmission
Well, I would suggest something like EasyTether, it's a USB tether from your phone/tablet to PC /Mac/Linux. But what exactly are you using to tether (not phone, as in app or setting)?

The only non root method for Wifi Teher I have Found for S7

WIFI TETHER for Sprint S7 Sorry for typo
I am on a Sprint S7 G930PVPS4APK1 ANDORID VERSION 6.0.1. I live in the sticks and wifi tether is the only way I can get high speed for home. The quick reboot method no longer works. I have rooted other phones, but am no expert, and hesitate to try rooting my S7. Can't afford the ins if I brick it.
I have found From lots of reading (thanks to many) that using PDAnet+ alows me to use USB tethering to a laptop. The lap top will then work as a WIFI hotspot with what seems like reasonable speed. I was able to use the wifi on a tablet and stream Netflix, which is what I really want. Works great. It will be worth the $8 bucks to unlock PDAnet for unlimited data. So this works as Jan 2017 for free wifi hotspot.. I have seen no other recent references to this. i should mention i have unlimited data so have not
I do have a question While the WIfi hotspot from the tethered laptop works great, I can not seem to get my Chrome cast to connect to it. I really need this. It satys problem connecting to wifi router. I can't figure out why. The only clue? I constantly get a pop up on the laptop saying intel intelligent wifi is disabled while app running? any ideas would be very helpful TIA

Nintendo Switch Nat Type D Mobile Hotspot

I'm currently with Koodo(Telus) and get Nat Type D when trying to use Nintendo Switch on my Mobile Hotspot to play games online (Splatoon 2). I assume nothing can be done but hoping maybe either through root or some app maybe just maybe? I'm hoping to not have to go through a computer but worst case that would help at home as my ISP is horrible.(Rural Wireless)
I just switched to koodo and did not see this coming. I have the exact same situation as you now. It worked fine on fido, (Nat b) but on koodo it is D.
I hear that wifi tether router by Fabio Grasso can do it with root, but I don't understand why that would work. I enjoy not tinkering with my phone which is why I like Nexus, I'd like a root free way of doing this.
I hear there is a way to get tethering to the PC via USB then share the connection over the laptops WiFi, which might work. Might have to use a VPN too. Latency will be a problem though.

Tethering Sprint GS6 to Ps4

Hello all! New here but not new to forums in general.
Right now I have fully unlimited data with sprint, and use easy tether pro to connect to my windows pc and play games on.
The only problem is that I end up having a strict nat type and cant play games like rainbow 6 siege, but thats not my worries.
I play Cod ww2 on ps4 and only have 20gb of home wifi so whenever i get close to 18 i stop using it for games and switch over to plugging my phone into my Mac laptop and sharing the connection over wifi. It works but gives me Nat type 3 in game. I have tried bridging connections from my pc to my ps4 using an ethernet cable but my ps4 doesn't want to accept the connection even when i type in all the addresses manually.
HERE THE BUT ----- When i enable the factory wifi hotspot on my phone, I get Nat Type 2, which is perfectly fine for me to play CoD with, but i only have 3gb of wifi sharing a month. Is there any way for me to plug my phone into my mac, share its connection over wifi, and get Nat Type 2???
PS. My phone is not rooted nor am i willing to root it unless a professional does it for me, and there are no pro's around here.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Adding Static IP to your account will get you NAT Type 2. It's like $3 extra a month and you can do it on the website. It's what I have with my Nexus 6 / PS4 Pro. 700GB this month so far, 1.02TB last month.

I would assume since the main device would still be operating with a static IP. If you are the account holder just enable it and ur phone will immediately reconnect, if it doesn't work just take it back off. When I first did it the ROM I was on had issues reconnecting so I disabled it 30 min later and they didn't charge me. Even if they do it's less than 2 McDoubles at McDonald's lol, worth testing imo if you need Type 2 NAT badly. Like I said, works for me using the Wifi hotspot on Pure Nexus on my Nexus 6.
