Experience/Information for Witson SC9853i Head Unit for Opel Astra J ? - Android Head-Units

Hi guys,
I am currently using an S10 Head Unit but honestly I can't use any apps anymore since it is so terribly slow. Therefore I was considering a 'Tesla Style' Head Unit.
During my research I've found out that the units based on the Intel IA Chip seem to be more powerful than the PX6 based ones.
Therefore I amthinking about the following unit from Witson: Android 9.0 For OPEL ASTRA J/VAUXHALL HOLDEN 2010-2013 (TTF1974)
However I am reading a lot about Joying Head-Units but they don't seem to offer anything for my Opel/Vauxhall Astra J.
My question is, is there any SW Support for the unit from witson?
Can I even flash the SW from Joying? But Joying has only the Android 8.1 for the SC9853i but the Unit above is delivered with Android 9.
Does anyone even have some experience with the mentioned head unit or can give me any kind of input / Links?
I already saw the threads in this category but honestly I am not sure how well they apply to the Unit from Witson.

Which head unit for Toyota Prado 120?

Hi guys,
My old Android head unit got touch screen broken so I'm looking for a new one.
My car is Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 120, 2005, with a JBL amplifier, but I already have a CANBUS decoder from my old android head unit.
Can you recommend a unit that will work with a rear view camera (RCA), car recorder (USB) and has possibly least number of issues?
And a seller (preferably tomtop, gearbest, banggood or aliexpress)?
You can look at Joying new Octa core 7'' head unit JY-UM135N2PX5C

Thanks for recommendation, but this is a 2-DIN unit, and I need one specific for Toyota Prado to integrate nicely with my dashboard. I didn't find one like that from Joying.

Autochips AC8259E (A53*8) ROM

Hi all,
I've been looking for an aftermarket headunit for my Mini Cooper S (year 2007), and found several on Ali. I'm particularly interested in the below unit:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001184671816.html
Questions:
1. I've been checking whether custom roms are available for the AutoChips chip series, but all I could find on xda are for RockChip. Will these work on the above unit (it comes with Android 10)
2. Could somebody recommend any other unit for a Mini Cooper S R56 (year 2007) with the silver CD and separate volume control that can be modified with a custom rom?
I asked the vendor to send me the MCU version and he sent me this, if it helps identify the unit:
CHIP: AUTOCHIPS AC8259E (A53*8)
MCU: HDBEC.200423
MEDIA: HC_v2.0.0_200311_000(v1.71)
BTV: BT.20.06.23.1430
Android: 10
Many thanks for any tips!
Regards,
Chris
Did you want Android auto or Android head units? Your post suggests Android head units and not AA.

I initially posted in head units but did not get any replies. After looking at other similar posts, people were suggesting to them to post in the "Android Auto" forum, so I posted there too
Sorry for any confusion...

I'm just looking for an android headunit for my Mini Coopers S R56 (year 2007) and there are many options to choose from, but all of them have "something missing". The best I could find is this 9" unit, but it doesnt have the commonly referred to RockChip chip or the MTCx MCU for which all custom roms in XDA are available.... I want a unit that I can upgrade with custom roms, and was looking for advice.
Again thanks for replying

BMW e90 keeps displaying metric instead of imperial on start up

I installed the Joying JY-BO124N3 Android head unit which works great. The problem I'm having is the car is displaying metric units on start up. To fix this, I have to go into the head unit settings and change to imperial/American units which will then display the correct units on the dash/climate control. The headunit itself always displays the correct Imperial units (mph, F, etc). I contacted the manufacturer who said it wasn't possible to permanently change through the head unit. The Eunavi Android head unit in my Toyota doesn't have this problem so I'm assuming the problem is with the BMW. Is there anyway I can permanently program/code out metric units so only Imperial information is displayed on my dash?
I did a review on the head unit and show this problem at 3:23:

Bump
Anyone?
I can’t help other than to say I had the same issue with my BMW E90 and an Eonon unit so it seems like this might be an E90 thing with these aftermarket head units?

Ah, thanks for the reply. This is super helpful. I'm just relieved to hear that someone (unfortunately) had the same issue as me. If my Joying and your Eonon are doing the same thing, then I can pretty much narrow down that it's on BMW's end.

Android head unit - 2014 Insignia

Hi all,
I am a complete n00b with Android head units. I am not even sure what FYT is :\
I have an Vauxhall (aka Opel) Insignia 64 plate.
I am wanting to replace the stock unit with an Android unit, but there are so many around, I have no ide what to get.
What I would like from the unit is:
Steering Wheel control
Play Store access
The ability to sideload APK files
I had a discussion with the bloke from Icebox Auto and he said that unit, in below link, support what I need
VAUXHALL OPEL INSIGNIA 2014-17 TESLA NAVI ANDROID 12.0 8CORE 4/64GB 4G DAB+ THV1983
Vauxhall Opel Insignia 2014-17 Tesla, Navi Android 11.0 8CORE 4/64GB 4G DAB+ TTV1983 insignia stereo upgrade/replacement @ Iceboxauto
www.iceboxauto.com
But after further searching, I have found similar/higher spec on Ali Express (T6 version)
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mr9fbzK
I have messaged them, so see if it meets my requirements. Awaiting response.
I also understand there are head units that don't allow you to install from Play Store or to side load an APK's. Is there an easy way to determine this ? Is it to do with connection USB for Android Auto vs "Standard" Android apps via data tethering ?
Apologies is this is posted in to the wrong forum
Thanks
