SPI, USB or other interface on the Shield TV (non Pro, tube version) - Nvidia Shield TV & Shield TV Pro (2019) Questions

I'm interested in the non Pro Shield for a project of mine, but I require some kind of wired interface (SPI, USB, ...) to attach a keyboard (and preferably other USB devices if possible).
Does the board on the Shield TV expose any pins or similar where one could solder a USB connector? Or could I use an SPI multiplexer on the microSD slot (which I assume uses SPI and not USB)? Any other way to add an interface such as USB or SPI to the non Pro Shield TV?

[Q] Question about SlimPort

So the Nexus 4 doesn't have USB OTG support. That sucks. I'm fairly certain the answer on the following question will be "no", but I've still got hope.
With SlimPort, you can connect your Nexus 4 to a HDMI monitor, similar to MHL. It also charges your device. In my amazing Dell ST2220T touch monitor (well, the touch isn't so amazing, but the screen quality is), there are four USB ports. When I connect my Nexus 4 to my monitor with SlimPort, would I be able to plug in a keyboard and mouse in the USB ports on my monitor?
If not, I could use bluetooth (if you can connect multiple devices at least, both mouse and keyboard) or use the touch functionality on my monitor, but I'm not sure that works because it's a seperate cable.
It would be really cool to use the N4 as a sort of mini computer. Like Ubuntu had in mind. I can connect it to my speakers, to my monitor, I'm only hoping that I won't have to buy bluetooth accessoires. I prefer to use my wired accessoires, or if that isn't possible the touch functionality of my monitor, but I'm fairly both won't be possible.
the usb on your monitor would have a upstream connector that goes into your pc, so it won't work with phone,
you have to use bluetooth keyboard and mouse

So even if the N4 had USB Host support, I still wouldn't be able to use a wired keyboard and mouse together with the SlimPort, right? I doubt there's some adapter that can do both.
The slimport controller acts as a switch, it either routes usb or displayport signals though the data pins, the usb lanes are not connected while it's in use.
While displayport does contain aux pins for handling additional stuff such as usb (hypothetically?), those pins do not exist in our setup.

Display to external monitor?

Since our port is USB C and I have an HDMI and VGA adapter in hand, I have tried connecting the phone to an external monitor.
But, nothing works. Is there anyway we can get an external monitor working?
You can't because A1 don't support mhl, as far as I know it required the phone to have usb 3.1 to support usb c to vga/hdmi output. But you can use chormecast if you want to use wireless method.
Edit: Nope, check the Xiaomi official page:

Wasnt MHL a old standard? The USB-C should have a HDMI Alt feature. You should try connecting a device with native HDMI input, without VGA or other adapters.

Does Dex work witha simple Type-C to HDMI cable?

Hey,
I am in the research of buying a cable to connect the phone to an external screen.
And of course, to use Dex.
My question is if Dex requires a special samsung cable, or if it can work with a simple Type-C to HDMI cable from ebay or similar.
Thanks
Yes any will work however just make sure the one you get supports 60hz that's the one Samsung offer but charge a little extra for
As long as dex has been used before
USB C to HDMI Cable([email protected]), uni USB Type-C to HDMI Cable [Thunderbolt 3 Compatible] for MacBook Pro 2018/2017, MacBook Air/iPad Pro 2018, Surface Book 2, Samsung S10, and More - Gray - 6ft/1.8m https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075V5JK36/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6TWpDbMZZ7P67
This will trigger dex to work with any cable.

Shield TV 2019 regular (non pro) swap ethernet out for usb?

I see the ethernet is actually a daughterboard, which is connected by a ribbon cable. Anyone think there is a chance this is just a USB-to-Ethernet hub? If it is, it would be an easy mod to swap over to a USB port, which would dramatically enhance the functionality of the non pro version. Why they didn't do this in the first place amazes me... it looks like a 10 pin ribbon cable though, so not sure if it's USB...

I'm interested in adding a USB port myself. But the mainboard has a Realtek chip (according to photos at fccid.io), which I assume is an ethernet chip. I have however seen people mention a soldered USB connector somewhere, but I haven't been able to find where.
Did you ever manage to find something out? I'd be happy even with SPI.
Can't you just use an OTG Y cable? Considering that is how the Firesticks handle USB via its micro port I don't see why Nvidia wouldn't have done that as well. Course I have the pro so I know nothing about the tube.

Looking for good OTG micro-USB Ethernet hub for Firestick 4k Max

I have a OTG Micro-usb ethernet hub that works perfect with a regular Firestick 4k.
But when I try to use it with a new 4k Max, the 4k max refuses to see the wired ethernet connection.
I also need this "hub" to have a few USB ports on it for a memory stick and wireless keyboard transceiver.
Does anyone know for sure a hub on Amazon that will work with the "Max" version of the 4k firestick?
Hello,
According this thread,
https://www.reddit.com/r/firetvstick/comments/j0agpo
you have to use an AX88178 chipset like Ugreen.
I found one that is less expensive ($15) than the UGREEN one, and it doesn't require a separate OTG cable because this one already has a micro-usb connector on it - so that saves even more money because you don't have to buy one.
This OTG Hub is cool because it has three USB ports that you can plug in a memory card to store movies and/or pictures to display on the big screen.
And I personally verified that it works great with my 4k MAX firestick:
