Hey guys I just installed pixelextended 2.2 on my redmi 5 and and works fine here
I was surprised that live caption is working perfect by default

but
some emulators and apps can not access to my 128gb SD card
examples
the sony PSP emulator called PPSSPP can't access my sd card ( my games are on the external SD)
it can load only ganes which are located on the internal memory
idem for EPSXE emulator, it can't load my isos which are located on the SD card
what kind of bug is this?
why some apps can't access to the external SD card

sometimes I like to reply myself my own questions
well, it seems this ****ing bug or issue is related to the Scooped Storage implanted in android 11
because I tried Lineage 18.1 and it have the same problem
it seems since android 11 some apps or emulators can't access to the SD card if is formated in fat32, it seems you now must format the external SD card in a different way or so
btw, this Pixel extended rom is the most complete and best rom for the Redmi5
I tried it for a around 7 days and excepting for the SD card issue I found no bugs, everyting works fine by default , live captions,gcams ,etc
according to the program accubattery PIxel extended consumes around 0..1 % /hour in screen off , this is fantastic
THe last official Redmi 5 oreo rom consumes in screen off around 0.2%/h
PIxel experience rom for redmi 5 have a severe bug wasting battery in screen off around 0.6% /h , I wonder why the author of this rom didn't realize it yet

this rom is fantastic but there are still some bugs, for example there are often gif viewing problems on instagram stories, as well as photos that often when they are loaded on the story a black screen appears, or on whatsapp there is the bug of the green camera that has always been present on other roms in development. For the moment I have not double-checked any other bugs.

Ok, little review after a only 2 hours of use and comparing it to LOS 15 which is the other ROM I have used extensively. This ROM performs very well, is fast and stable. Ram usage seems to be on par with LOS 15. Ram management is good too, only a few times did some apps take a bit of time to open up but that might have been the fact that I was testing and opening everything I could, so your experience could be better than mine in this area. Biggest issue I think is the fingerprint reader, but that's normal and expected in all Oreo ROMS right now, fpc manufacturer is fast and responsive and Goodix can have a little delay when the screen is locked and off, otherwise it performs just as well. Battery depends on kernel installed, personally I have experienced it to be just as good as LOS 15 so you should too. It offers the convenience of included Gapps and all signs of a Pixel phone in terms of customization and what's to expect with menus, colors, etc.

Hey, lurker here looking to flash my Redmi 5 with this ROM. Any updates to your review? Also, what's the version of GApps that's packaged with this ROM? I usually go for 'pico' GApps, so was curious if this has other Google bloatware installed.

Unlock bootloader (if NOT yet), flash TWRP, flash ROM(gapps included), Reboot. That's it.
If you want magisk (root access) then you have flash batik recovery instead of TWRP.

One little thing I found is that the Pixel wallpapers are not animated :/

Not a bug the theme thing. It how Pixels handle it too. And about those features I guess it won't be added. I can make unofficial builds with some more options, but I advise that the update frequency won't be the same as the official builds.

1- Camera error: insert sd card for shot(arnovas2g8 gcammod 6 is working well)
2- little cores minimum clock always on 1516 mhz(i cant change)
3- so much glitches and fps drops i see in 3d games(generally asphalt 9)
4- perfect battery time for daily use but in game meh.
5- sound bar is so small and we can only see media volume for others need open sound settings.
6-magisk working stable.
7-In launcher we cant resize widgets
Very good for first build i love it
Everything is working 200% the only problem is battery drain. Any thing to do with it

Hello TipzTeam, thanks for the ROM, in the download folder it says SM-A105M, I have the same phone model. I want to install this ROM but I need TWRP, on the official page, there is no support for any A10 device, in some forum threads custom recovery for A105F has been posted (I have seen that some members have had problems installing that version), but no for A105M. Could you post the TWRP file for this device (SM-A105M)?

A105M = All other A10 with exy
Very Nice ROM.
I tried it first but it Did'nt Worked.
Just flash BitGapps and it works like a Charms.
Best ROM for A10 to get Pixel Feel

I think I found the reason for those bugs:
1. PE includes a suite of horrible GAPPS that doesn't play well with Samsung devices
2. Setup wizard crashed so the navkeys doesn't work

What version of stock android should I have to install your rom from twrp?
This ROM is 64-bit or 32-bit since as we know the Samsung Galaxy A10 has a 64-bit architecture but a 32-bit operating system. Then I would like to know what architecture handles this Custom ROM for the samsung a10. And one last question, will we receive updates on this ROM? I ask it since it is an unofficial pixel experience ROM.
Is this rom stable for gaming? because i've been using Havoc OS for several months, and it doesn't really good beacuse game and apps always crashing after several minutes....

First bug: My SIM Card (placed in SIM Slot 2) isn't detected by the OS. It's a French SIM if it matters. Sadly this is gamebreaking for me so I'll have to go back to stock

Can I just dirty flash from twrp?
I'm using MIUI Global stable 12.0.3
bro, i installed this rom today, i have been using it for about 6 hours, and i say, this is apparently perfect, no bugs found so far, very good performance, no crashes, the fingerprint is reading very fast ... just wonderful, congratulations to the creators, I hope they continue with this project always

Mi a3 have a fantastic developer community. Now it's time to leave stock rom for android 11. And this rom seems to be very good

Everything's been pretty good so far. I haven't tested the performance yet - need to install some games to see how that goes.
Problems:
1. Apps still fail to recognize fingerprint, so unlocking the screen is all fingerprint is good for, no app authentication supported.
2. Modded Magisk is still needed - the official Magisk won't work and would send the phone straight to fastboot.
3. Recovery still cannot use PIN for decryption. A workaround is to use a pattern lock screen instead of PIN, but I really don't like pattern.
Hope someone can fix these problems - these have been bugs with all Android 11 OSS-vendor ROMs since day one.
Edit: The whole OSS-vendor scheme is really bad tbh. Apps keep hanging and the UI sometimes can come to be not very responsive.

Not great but you can use the GCam port. It is much better.
Have been using last a few days. ROM is great, really fast, customizable. Gives you the Pixel-ish feel. But I have a massive battery drain like MIUI. Phone doesn't go to deep sleep. I couldn't find the solution yet. I have PowerManager.SuspendLockout, PowerManagerService.Display, PowerManagerService.Wakelocks and smp2p-sleepstate wakelocks. I've searched a bit. Someone says turn off tap2wake, tap2sleep functions - which I did and didn't solve my problem - another user says turn off pocket detection feature - which Pixel Experience doesn't have or I couldn't located. I am gonna use a few more days to find the problem but if it doesn't work I will switch the LineageOS 18.

I've tested and wakelocks are caused by AOD. Brightness is full and doesn't let phone to go deep sleep. Turning off should eliminate the issue but it is such a cool feature. Hope it will be fixed near feature.
Also for FOD... i can successfully register my FP but it keeps saying not recognized when I try to unlock.
Anyone face the same issue?

Having the always on display is not advisable. Just enable it for notifications

FOD improvements are available on Android 11 build by another developer
