[Best Roms] For New Rom Users Who Are Looking For A Good Rom for there SM-t320 - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 General

Here are my Opinion of the Custom Roms for SM-t320...
HTML:
I have tried all of these roms and they work properly on my SM-t320. If anything happens to your SM-t320 than its not my fault. I will laugh at you! XD
1. ColtOS ( Android 10 )
There are not as many Custom Roms for SM-t320. I have used almost all the latest SM-t320 Roms. And I found Colt OS to be the best:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-pro-12-10-8/orig-development/rom-coltos-t4090429
PROS:
Unlike all SM-t320 roms ColtOS is actually Official Rom, that get updates. Its is packed with lots of customization and its quite stable.
CONS:
So I have been using ColtOS for a while now and it seems to hang some times. Like just stop working. Or it slows down alot and gets back to its normal speed again. You can easily fix this by holding the power button until it reboots.
2. LineageOS ( Android 10 )
This Rom is Very Stable And Has Lots Things Working. I actually only glitched on this rom like 2-3 times. It is very stable. The Only Thing I didnt like about this ROM is that it is very Stable but not Customizable. Thats why I switched to ColtOS.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt/rom-lineageos-17-0-android-10-0-q-t4014565
PROS:
This ROM is very stable and almost everything is working!
CONS:
This Rom is Not Customizable. There are VERY few customizations which makes it fell basic. But you still get the Android 10 UI.
So yeah now its up to you guys to decide. Also just to let You Guys Know that I am compiling Evolution-X for SM-t320 and AospRemix for SM-t320. Both Android 11, So yeah those will be upcoming soon!!

wow. NIce to see so many ROMs from you for MI3. Thanks a lot. shall try)
Excellent rom. No bugs. GPS works, camera works like in MIUI, including HDR.
Xpose works well. Does not have music apk. Not many bells&whistles, but very crisp and fast.
Too early for the battery, but looks OK.

Short review
First of all thanks to @aniket.lamba and Spike Lab Team for the wonderful ROM :highfive:
Here is the short review:
1. First things first, it is very stable... no issues at all.
2. All the sensors and basic stuffs are working as they should. Compass, GPS, accelerometer, etc, all fine.
3. It is quite smooth but I felt it could be little more smoother though. So to check, I installed Kernel Adiutor and found the default I/O is set to Deadline. Played around with all the available I/O options. Found the sweet spot with Noop. After changing it to Noop it feels very smooth. SIO is very near to it as well.
4. It seems to me a pure AOSP ROM, no bells and whistles... So people who are looking for tons of customizations may look elsewhere (you can use xposed though but I haven't used it yet so won't comment)... But for a person like me stability has a higher priority than customization, so I am all good here
5. NO HEATING ISSUES at all like in CM based ROMs. I never thought that I would add this point but the recent heating issues what I was faced in CM based ROMs was just too much (I used to feel my phone may explode anytime). The phone always stays cool with this ROM whether you play games, use apps or multitask.
** Downloaded and flashed the mini gapps from official Spike Lab website and you know what it is only 46.3MB in size :good: **
**Not attaching any SS as it is like any pure AOSP ROM. You may use CM themes though. **
Aniket, I have a query:
I have accidentally enabled 3 finger swipe to take screenshot. I want to disable it but couldn't find the setting for it. Could you please guide me...
Thanks

@aniket.lamba Bro, today I faced the No SIM issue once when I rebooted my Mi3. Just got curious and checked the metallium devices github and found that the commit which audahadi did (which actually solved the No SIM bug) is not present in the rooque's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory from which metallium devices's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory is forked.
So, I flashed the nosimfix zip and all is fine now. But it will be great if you pick that commit from audahadi's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory and apply in metallium devices
Thanks for all your efforts :good:

New build Metallium
Hello new build is up: see op download link to basketbuild or normal way: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347817647

Here comes the feedback:
- Autorotation doesnt work. Maybe kernel related.
- Some lag and instability but this could very (most definitely) well be the bidji kernel. (Havent tested on stock kernel)
- Everything else works fine.
- Betterylife is fine, nothing crazy.
- Botton backlight works
Will test tomorrow with stock kernel a few minutes to confirm sone issues maybe. But I like the battery life of bidji kernel too much to not use it.
What does this rom do different compared to other cm like roms? I couldnt really find any major pros or cons. Just very cm like but not from cm I guess. I really hate that they have edited the default launcher with their own ugly app drawer icon and removed the launcher options. Luckily we have an appstore with other launchers. I will change rom to DU again probably because of the auto rotate (but button backlight doesnt work there if i recall correctly).
Still really loving all your builds to test compare and tinker with. And the new bidji kernel makes the tinkering and fiddling even more interesting . Hope this feedback helps.

Ik dank je voor uw feedback!
Autorotation: well still a mistery only DU is working, kernel is the same, so frameworks must be the culprit.
For the rest, I just jump into this project cause I found it interesting and different from others but i'm slowly think I was wrong.
Anyway, yes it not cm but device trees are so, bugs will remain mainly the same .
To be honest, not sure I'll keep on long time with this one except if users are happy
At least om my AFH I have some 30 downloads, in their basketbuild, 0...
Een prettige end of weekend!

(I lolled a bit because of you typing Dutch )
Tested again on stock kernel, same issues as before with auto rotate. Something to add why this is different compared to other roms: it is not so much in options but everything that is there is done well. Like all icons and stuff are all good and done and there are no wierd looking menus. So it is a very slick experience IMHO (except the boot logo ugh).
Cheers
Hello Guys,
With Metallium team members, we decided to make those builds "unofficials". This won't change anything for you, builds with remain the same with same quality and improve progressively.
This is a good team and i'm proud to build for them, last post from my dutch mate proves it.
Reasons why this change: i prefer to keep my liberty, to build myself, to post my builds where i used to post it, and so on. Furthermore, i'm official member of crDroid team and it takes me lot of time, and i want to keep the same quality for them too.
So expect new Metallium build at least weekly.
I wish you a nice evening.
Cheers,

The TWRP works fine and can unify the storage. The CM build posted on the oppo forums seems to work no worse than any other CM-derived rom. An LVM aware build of Dirty Unicorns would be awesome. I'm happy to test things because my Find 5 isn't my primary device anymore so I don't rely on it.

I am already running a CM version having LVM and its good apart from Auto rotate which seems to be a bug in CM12.
But another ROM with proper support would be awesome and feel free to get back to me to test the same
P.S: enabling selinux enforce by default seems to be a but flaky

Unfortunately, CM12 has the autorotate issue in all my builds except DU. So what i propose is, first make a test on metallium to see if LVM works then try to adapt to DU, new DU version should come within one day or two.
Thanks for your support.

[ROM][7.1.1][LINEAGE] KryoRemix-Nougat[OPTIMIZED][SMOOTH][MORE!]

I can't help , but exclaim what a journey it has been ! It all started , when I was bent on rooting my Note 2 , and installing the S5 based ROM by team electron , at a time when TouchWiz was at its peak and I was 14 . I vividly remember that moment when it booted up , and I was really relieved ! I then went on to install RR , and was mesmerized by the smoothness and customizability . I thought to myself I will never be able to build a ROM from source like the devs do . But , when I got the Oneplus One a year and a half later , I had tried dozens of ROMs , based on CM , AOSP , and TW . I wanted to myself make a ROM from source , but didn't find any good guides , so I started trying to port ROMs as the guides were better for porting back then . Out of many failed ports , one came out to be real good , when I tried to port Skydragon ROM , and added lots of stuff from team Utopia's HTC app ports . I released the ROM in the start of 2016 , and frequently updated it , until I got busy with my studies . It was almost the start of April , when my 10th std. board exams were done away with , and I was bent on building ROMs from source . Then I saw @Aaahh 's post on the OnePlus forums , in which he had helped someone with ROM building . @Aaahh and @jgcaap were my favorite developers , and to learn development from someone like @Aaahh would be great I thought to myself . I then contacted him via Telegram , and we got to building ROMs within two weeks or so (I blame my internet speed for that ) . I will always be thankful to him .I then continued to release my first ROM , which was Hurricane-AICP , which was a highly acclaimed ROM for the opo . I then got to collaborate with @jgcaap , and I feel really lucky for that . I then got the Op3 in June , and continued my heavily optimized AICP builds for it too , under the name Kryo-AICP , paying homeage to the SD820 . I then again tried many ROMs after that , and saw RR to have drastically improved . I then decided to rebase my builds to RR , but I admit , it failed to hit the mark in the first shot , due to some bugs and rough edges . I now have them cleared out , and am capable of fixing bugs (finally) . I also have almost double the experience of ROM building by now , and without further waiting , let's get to the ROM itself !
Features :
All RR features !
GCC & Clang O3 (Optimized for speed ) !
Optimized Low-level code !
Polly on Clang !
Enabled Graphite and its identity transformation !
ODEXED for faster boot times and better performance !
More Optimizations and features coming soon !

OpenBeta 7/9 should work fine.
OK, I installed this ROM with Open Gapps Nano and all is working well so far.
Started from scratch with a clean flash so I'm still setting things up.
One quick question: is there an option to force the volume panel to be always expanded by default? I remember this feature from some custom ROM in the past and really liked it.
Will keep posting my feedback along with the normal usage goes on.

Just found a little glitch: in Settings app the Gestures menu is listed ad "com.cyanogenmod.settings...." instead of "Gestures".
A second quick question: is there somewhere the possibility to choose the global accent color, or do we have to rely on themes when they'll be available?
Edit: one more: Settings > Additional buttons > Swap buttons get reset at each reboot.
Hey manav, thanks for the rom, it looks very promising. May I ask if you could look at unlink ring and notification tone? I realy miss it in RR N. The only Nougat rom that has it is AICP i think.
Thank you either way.

OOS camera port not working on this ROM... It freezes at every photo taken. Need to exit and restart app...
Hey whats good mate? Glad to see what you have accomplished
Well, here is my impression after a full day using this ROM, started with a clean flash: performance are good (actually was really impressed from the speed of first boot) but to achieve a perfect stutter-free scrolling I had to set battery profile to "Performance".
Doesn't seem to use too much battery at the moment, will report back if anything changes.
I'd love to hear something from the builder about the questions raised yesterday.
Again, thanks a lot for this great ROM!

There have been lots of changes on RR's side , so I'm gonna merge them and release a new build on Sunday or Monday . Lots of device tree improvements are there too , so don't judge the ROM by the first build itself

Focus on quality not quantity.

This is not for miui,eui,flyme,etc.
Only for roms like aosp,rr,etc.
What is going on bro every day one rom.
No one care about quality of camera and beauty mode.
People flash and use it for some hour and just return on miui as backup.
We all are seeing oreo, nougat, etc roms just coming based on one and other
Slight ui change, nothing more than that
I respect all devs they give precious time but on what just a waste thing not on daily driver you have to focus on one rom and make it great
Please devs make le2 great again.
Thanks for your love towards a monster from a common user like me.
For exmpl I DO care about camera, ofcourse about sot and stability too

There are so many people so called developers building roms from same device tree with minor changes or minor feature addition. They keep on building new rom everyday with a new name but they don't work on basic requirement. I have listed few of them as below
Cosmic-OS v3.1 - Universe by @hkee96
Project Xtended by @hkee96
FireHound by @ProPrk
Unleash-OS by @ProPrk
Cardinal-AOSP by @renjian
Pixel Experience by @djdeve
Gzosp by @saurabh1234
Android Open Source Illusion Project by @renjian
Candy8.1 by @saurabh1234
AospExtended by @SagarMakhar
LineageOS 15.1 [email protected]
You can see from list above, most of them are maintaining 2 roms, which is really useless. But in last don't forget the one who has initiated Oreo project for Le 2. I really appreciate their work.

Bro its your greatness that you devs keep our device updated with oreo but there is no need of making so much roms rather than focus ing on one.
Its my personal suggestion as user,we must try other oreo roms you port in future,we are not criticising devs.
90% user uses miui9 as daily driver why?
Only one answer stability and camera.
That lacks in other roms.
Now its you greatness that you(devs) take it some serious as a word from younger bro.

Do you think fixing bugs is child's play ?
and yes currently oreo roms are almost stable , camera works great , everything is fine as it should.
What are your 'basic requirements' , Google camera with portrait mode ?
All basics things are already fixed.
If not join us and fix them , our trees are open for everyone
And let me remind you Oreo is a team work , no one would have done it single handedly
If you are still not satisfied with our work , then sorry to say but oreo is not for you

You sure camera doesnt work ?
Or complaining about gcam ?
Camera is 90% stable and you need to use either stock camera app or footej
If you are talking about any issues , report them with logcat in specific rom thread , it's a better way to report bugs than creating ugly thread

this is just a useless comment...if you think we are making useless rom then why we are getting request to make this rom , that rom...
all devs are trying to fix bugs...even they fixed.
and if you have more complaints then go say this to the rom owners... and get you as* kicked....
from now onward i m saying ...we will not update any rom...

Seriously dude ?
What is wrong if someone maintains 2-3 roms , its their choice and having bunch of roms is always good.
And for your kind information oreo is stable , 95% stable
We have everything working , and it makes us angry when someone reports about silly issues
And last oreo is team work , not done me or Rk585 single handedly so it will be better if you call it team next time.
And yes if you have issues report them to respective maintaners , I dont think there is something buggy
@[email protected]
By creating this thread you are disrespecting everyone who worked for oreo , if you are still not satisfied with our work , then oreo is not for you , keep up with EUI and Miui
This discussion goes in a very wrong direction.

[ROM][8.1]AOKP [UNOFFICIAL] [kuntao] [18/05/2018]

AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
