My mods initially were created for 6.0-7.1.2 CM, AOSP, LOS based roms. But my last updates and tests(my and @sharma.keshav153 ) allow you to work on 8.0 and 8.1 and stock 7.0 (and maybe 6.0 stock). It is preferable to use superSU.

Mod is for CM, AOSP, LOS roms with OS 6.0-7.1.2 . It compiled me from various sources, primarily ViPERAudio 5.5 Sony Beats Edition. As well as applications, libraries and configuration Sony. Mod has a fully working application Sony "Music" downloading data on a track and album. Also, equalizer, Xloud etc... I strongly recommend that after the first run and settings to make updates to the app on Google Play. You can also download others Sony apps.

How to install
Mod installs via custom recovery(TWRP 3.02). After startup options must be configured properly. Freeze or rename existing AudioFX (MusicFX). ViperFX set in compatibility mode and restart the device. Then run the application "Music" from Sony. Get the necessary permissions and select "Audio Settings" default EQ.
Dont forget about backup
How to uninstall
Uninistall mods
In order to remove the mod completely, necessary, as mentioned above, to restore the backup or flashing rom without wipe over that to restore the system files.
Notice:
If you have Magisk instead of SuperSU use fix below(post #2) . Flash via TWRP after any mod. Fix is the AudioModLib. Always fresh fix you can download here. .
Changes:
Made the final amendments in the archives. Now the audio_policy.conf file from which deep buffer is deleted has a saved original version of audio_policy.conf.bak. And in case of problems with sound in the internal speaker , just restore the original version.

Note.
DSEE HX working (The Slider is always OFF though; however, it DOES work)
DSEE-HX DOES WORK when you turn it "ON". Just left it after turning "ON".
To toggle OFF the DSEE-HX you have to switch the slider to "ON" again, then turn "OFF" because the slider always display as "OFF".
Further explanation: The Sony DRM cause the issue with the graphic file of the DSEE-HX's slider. It, however, does not affect the audio quality or function of this MOD.(Thanks for this clarification @sirdoha)

I made some Dolby Atmos Oreo mods based on @guitardedhero fantastic port.
All builds simply different . Need select for self more compatable. Maybe temporary bootloops after reboot from recovery , dont worry try reboot else one(only one). Sometimes on roms with magisk root is lost. Do reboot. Mods which with Viper's prepared can install via TWRP and then can install ViperFX 2.5.0.5 as ordinary application. So in magisk roms you can delete Dolby via magisk manager and Viper FX from rom settings .
Who want to get mod with SonyMusic&ViperFX&DolbyAtmos can add to DolbyAtmos&ViperFX simply Sony Music application from here .

i can't install V4A, Dolby Atmos keeps crashing.
V4A keeps giving an error: Driver install failed: I/O error, please reboot and try again.
So unfortunatly it's not a completely universal mod

might be because of the AOSP builds at the moment then,
the camera on the Z5p works 50% of the time, so maybe some sound issues or other build issues are still around as well

No. V4A works on 7.1.1 perfectly.
I using v4A anywhere always.

Those were all by our beloved Nfound, who has unfortunately moved on from the Axon 7.
Looks like the only options for updated builds are going to be the Lineage builds (14.1, 15.1, 16.0) , OR you could use generic treble GSIs which should almost be stable.(but won't be specific to our device.)
But for that we have to wait long time to get a stable treble

We've got Treble, but we still need some kind of universal patch for GSI roms to fix audio.
Everything else should work. (Personally, I didn't tried, staying with LOS 15 because of DAC)
Try latest AEX 5.8 from Nfound and Swifty R4 kernel.

LOS 16 is the problem, and at least it hasn't got the crippling audio bug present in all B12 base builds. Of course having the DAC would be awesome, but I guess it all depends on getting the blobs from somewhere (though i have no idea of course)
I think 15.1 uses the DAC and hasn't got the audio bug but i'm not sure. Maybe the devs will end up fixing it if it does have it.

AFAIK DAC works in LOS 16.
15.1 has the audio bug, even on the latest build. Orden didn't patch it, just for LOS 16.
LOS16 is the best choice right now. Smooth, NFC, Hotspot, DAC, no audio bug, etc. GSI are too problematic and laggy.

Oh, you remind me something. I didn't have 'that' call bug.
Some people got problem on AEX 5.7/5.8 and other roms with call bug, it was caused LTE itself or Volte.
Try to change your APNs or Preffered Network Type to Global from LTE.
Edit: Check this thread.
I'm on A2017G LOS 15.1 (Schwifty R4 Kernel + LXT Glassfish profile), but I didn't get that bug when I was on AEX 5.8.
AEX 5.8 (with newer LOS 15.1 vendor and Schwifty R4) should be brillant. I will go back when new version of LOS 15.1 will comeout.

My device is U model. I tried that way, changed to global but no improvement. But i noticed one thing that while ringing if i change the network mode or put the phone to flight mode tyen the calls went to voicemail so that we can identify that is the problem with rom. So far i got only one treble rom that has no call Error. ?️RR TREBLE ROM

Whoa, NFound update his rom for Axon 7 yesterday!

Maybe he fixed that bug, I can't find anything on 4pda.ru. Sadly, he closed his own thread ona XDA.
Edit: Probably Sept. Security patches, nothing else.

New AEX 8.1 build security patches are based on the OPM6.171019.030.K1 Nexus and has the latest sept.05 fixes (as the sept.01 fixes)

Sadly this Rom also have the Call bug, the problems starts from second reboot, after clean install there were no issues but after from second reboot the problem starts, tried the global settings also

Also AEX v6 GSI seems to be in the making (per NFound on telegram). We need a thread to exchange info & experience about these roms.

I tested the new AEX 9 build but it's almost the same as the AospExtended-v6.0-chiron-20180902-1012-ALPHA build from a couple of days ago floating on the MiMix2 net. I made a flashable zip of the build and as this one, it has a call bug, no NFC, not to many customs (as it is alpha...) (the Benzo rom or PE have way more customs atm and calls are working flawless...)

Which /vendor do you use?
If I treblerize with LOS15. 1, can I flash any treble rom (GSI) ? Will encryption and restrictive selinux work?
What do you use currently as daily driver?
Have you tested latest NFound AEX5. 8 (from telegram - 20180906)? If so, with which /vendor?

I'll always recommend the v1.1 NFounds way.
Benzo and PixelExperience are imo the best to use even as a daily driver. My focus is on Benzo as everything works beside the Hotspot (NFC is working with the @kountry83 NFC- fix ). Rest is flawless and a bunch of customization as I dont find that on other Pie's (only on PE). Even a 5hSOT with average use.

Looks like the modules for APTX,APTX HD,LDAC,AAC are broken on Mi A2
My Shanling DAC recognizes with my APTX Bluetooth headphones and even the REDMI 3S phone supports the LDAC,APTX HD with nitrogen OS
MI A2 tries to connect with AAC and it fails to produce any audio with it. Neither does it work with APTX,HD,LDAC modules with selection from developer options
I had to force it to look for SBC coding
Tried to have with magisk \TWRP flash for APTX modules and no luck , upon Boot its its lost in Vendor Libs
Hope someone finds a way to have it implemented
BTW i got Dolby module installed with Magisk and works like charm

I just submitted report and it didn't ask me to make an account. If you don't report it it might not get fixed.

I'm currently on a 9.0 rom and my rather old MDR BT headset connects with HD audio and uses AAC. I can switch off HD and run with SBC by default.
My Sony MDR 1000X is connecting fine with AAC.
AAC also working fine here. Nothing else though

I tried every Oreo related zip for APTX\HD - Magisk and recovery zip install and no luck ..Post reboot i do not se them in Libs and lib64 for Vendor and system files
I have also edited the build prop file to make sure entry is there for aptx,hd and ldac

I'm on stock ROM, I enabled programmer(developer) mode, then at programmer's options a menu about Bluetooth codec is shown, the options include very codec, APT-X, APT-X HD, LDAC etc.
I have no APT-X BT devices yet to test, so could someone with APT-X or LDAC headphones try this ?
Maybe Xiaomi can't get it to work themselves...

Hmmm.... So if u wanna restore ur original Twrp then just flash it using Fastboot flash command! That's it!

Bro i finally installed this rom... Now i'm going to tell you pros and cons of this rom. Before starting I would like to tell you that I am Italian so my English is not the best.
Pros:
• Phone like pixel
• No need to install GApps
• Very simple installation
• You can root with Magisk 17.1
Cons:
• Fingerprint, infrared and cam doesn't working
• Adaptive brightness is a bit bugged
• Phone is VERY VERY HOT and this impact also on the battery
@AP hacker can you help me to fix temperature problem? Else i must reinstall MIUI :crying:

Hell yeah pie is beautiful, but I didn't face heating issue... After I flashed it I used it for 30mins... Till that my phone was warm but not hot. I immediately flashed other stable ROM after seeing all the features. Developers are working and they will release stable version soon just wait.. @ND watch

bro I actually use viperos 7.1.2 its stable and! There are multiple developers of that ROM... So it would be difficult for me to mention them all!
