pro

Thank you so much for the rom

A big thanks man!
whats surprising is this is even smoother than the PE+ i was using, terrific for an alpha build.
a few pointers :-
-proximity sensor doesnt work in calls / however the sensor itself is working fine (tested)
-brightness slider is not doing anything / the brightness is fine tho
-cant access otg, it restarts / however mtp works fine
-dt2w works beautifully
-cannot access developer options in settings / however its accessible from launcher settings
-magisk work just fine, gains root but viperfx cant be installed

To have an Android 11 ROM built for laurel_sprout just a few weeks after it's official release, is just god damn good.
Great job!! Keep it up.

Excellent rom
I was eager to try android 11 and thanks to this rom I was able to test it, it is very stable to be alpha, I hope you continue with the super good project !!

Thank you !
I can't try it out right now, as i need a full functional ROM, but thank you for the hard work !
May i suggest, it would be great if you could make the Gapps optional, not integrated.
Much love !

I agree, if dev could stop integrating gapps in rom, it would be awsome for degoogled android user.

Excellent! But I'll wait until all bugs will be ironed out

How did you install magisk, teach me, twrp is grumpy???

I know what gapps bring to the table. Some people need them, some people don't want them, and some people don't care...
I just pointed out the fact that it would be good to have the option to choose if you want to use them or not. And i believe that a person who knows how to install custom recovery on this phone will know how to download a gapps package and flash it alongside the rom, if they CHOOSE to do so.
Tl;dr It's about the freedom of choice

Please make no gapps version, just degoogled aosp

Thats what im saying, unfortunately many roms here come bloated with gapps, many by the mantainers, is easy to install and not needed to built it, not everyone likes google spyware, so give users the choice is best shot at now. And for ppl of "just uninstall" when you remove google apps, libs, and jars from a rom that was compiled with the gapps you break and mess the system, so is better release clean rom and who wanna use just flash zip and be happy.

The problem here is that when a new Android version is released, usually, there aren't GApps builds available to be flashed through Recovery. For instance, if you access today to Open GApps project website, you won't find any GApps built for Android 11.
And so, yes, thank you for delivering us an Android 11 ROM with compatible GApps already included. The majority of users thank you for this.
This kind of comments makes me itchy. Instead of thanking the dev for taking his free time to build a ROM, only complain and come here with requests.
"Do this; do that; include this; remove that"...you know what? Learn to build by yourselves!
Geez.....
On a side note, I'm only waiting for Bluetooth to be fixed to get my hands on this.
Thank you @Vishalcj17.
Keep up the good work.

Spectacular I'm glad a lot of the ROM works. As for icon size, Slimkat likes toning down the UI size for elegance. I've grown attached to it
DPI is at 370, which is exactly what it's at on the Nexus 5
thanks! downloading now, will test the room this evening.

None yet, judging from user feedback, and no idea. I don't own the device, but decided to spend the last 2 nights (kept me awake for a bit) to build this

I wiped everything but the SD card (to keep the installation file at least on the device), but I got bootloop after flashing the ROM and the according gapps package to both partitions. My previous ROM was a stable, 4.3 based official MIUI, and I have a CWM 6.0.4.8 by furiel.
Any idea how it went wrong? Do I also need to wipe the SD card?

can you share a kmesg? I have a fair number of people saying theirs are fine, so i need to investigate any anomalies. just to make sure it's not the obvious candidate: is your device a cancro? try the cm in original android development just for sure, as it uses the same kernel.
Yes, it is a cancro, it is original, no doubt. I'll try to install an other CM-based ROM first, maybe I'll figure out something.
Do I need to wipe the SD card anyway?

Usually not....strange...Did the other users wipe their sd cards?
OK, I got it working. I wrote this earlier: "My previous ROM was a stable, 4.3 based official MIUI" - that was the problem. I flashed the latest 4.8.8 developer ROM, than the SlimKat, and voilá, it's working. Camera works, UI is very fast, there's plenty of free RAM.
For those who have not used slim roms before, to enable root, follow this simple guide:

on a side note, can you guys use the Q/A Thread?
Wow I'm so happy this is so fast!! Currently I'm in a situation, I can't experiment with phone, but once I get out of it, I will be flashing Roms,
But I had no hope there will be a developer room! But I'm so really happy I couldn't help posting this, kudos to Op, you are simply awesome
So excited
Flashed the rom, using cwm with TDB enabled.
Flashing in system 2 doesn't work. Had to flash in system 1.
Wifi stuck at "Obtaining IP Address" - Anyone else? Any workaround?
**Changing the contents of /system/etc/wifi/ with the one in attached file fix my wifi**
Camera is working both still pics and video. Though video is by default set to 4k, had to change it before start recording.
Thanks for the awesome work. :good:
So guys there is not issue with sensors?? as in CM and Mokee rom?
camera and gps work, proximity sensor, auto brightness don't.

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
Notice:
Before you flash, backup everything important of your device, then flash the ROM in TWRP.

Bugs:
on first boot the "Setting->Carbon fibers->Status bar" if clicked will trigger SystemUI crash, this will lead display blank but it will solve by pressing button power then select reboot and then those issue fixed (still tryng investigate this)
[*]Prefered SIM always reset after reboot (i guess need some compatible blob)
Screen Recorder is bit laggy, just use other Screen recorder from Playstore
Selinux is Permissive (Don't try to switch it to Enforcing!)
[*]Screen brightness always reset to value 45% after every reboot This is not an issue.
VoLTE not tested
other, so lets tell in this thread or pm me if you find any else.

Can't install it, it complains about wrong base firmware. I tried downgrading to both MIUI Global Stable 7.1 and Global Dev 7.1 basebands, but the ROM still won't install. Does it expect China baseband instead of Global?

Unfortunately, I really don't like much what I see... it's just plain Lineage with a fancy launcher (Lawnchair, I guess), and Substratum and Xposed pre-installed (but no root for Xposed, wtf - and since Xposed is pre-installed it's probably not possible to use Xposed Systemless with Magisk, which I would much prefer). Also, some of Lineage's stock features seem to be removed, for no real reason (like the dark system theme). Correct me if I'm wrong, I might have missed the dark theme setting somewhere.
Also, there's a system app that wants you to pay for OTA updates, via Paypal or some China payment system. That system app also spams ads... no thanks. I rather use real Lineage and install Substratum and proper systemless Xposed myself. If only someone would make Lineage or Omni official, instead of these weirdo ROMs...
does this rom support micro g?

Also, there's a system app that wants you to pay for OTA updates, via Paypal or some China payment system. That system app also spams ads... no thanks. I rather use real Lineage and install Substratum and proper systemless Xposed myself. If only someone would make Lineage or Omni official, instead of these weirdo ROMs...

like i said, its a base rom you usually use to create another rom from it like Lineage OS, but not like Lineage OS, it is more like pure AOSP plus some feature with stability and performance in mind, try to download another version without Xposed since it's uploaded Everyday... .
For OTA, you can download The OTA from their website for free without downloading the full ROM and just do dirty flash to update...
Volte not working in any Nougat ROM. Any solution?
Mokee ROM shows add i don't know why. It's asks for donations via paypal. It has root option present in developer options.but ROM is buggy.volte not working.system ui restarting.not recommended to flash at all.

it's still nightly tho and it's released every night automatically by the server even if the developer didn't make any change to the rom...
i think we should wait for the "release" version which is released after everything is checked and stable.
Why would i download a rom with advertising? Glad i didn't waste my time.

at least, they dont sell your data and personal information to pay the server and bandwith cost for over than 100+ device updated daily (or Nightly)

It has Lineage (or rather, Cyanogenmod) Privacy Guard, and asks to enable it in the first startup screens, just like Lineage. It might be that they just cherry-picked that from Lineage, and the rest is derived from AOSP. It's hard to say, since Lineage is very close to stock AOSP anyways, at least on the surface.

I'm getting extremly poor performance with social media apps like Discord or Twitter. They take a long time to load and usually end up crashing.
Edit: Also, edit your post and change the ROM OS Version. It says it's Android 11.

Please report with logs, as no such issue was reported by any person, and this is the correct post, it's Android 11, aka Android R not Android 10.
From my side, as I have a santoni myself, the ROM works just fine and buttery smooth without issues.
Interesting! Android 11 on a Redmi 4X! Might actually give it a try.

As mentioned in the instructions, use opencamera app this is due to Android 11's new policy regarding camera usage, and this is one of the reasons why apps tend to create problems as they aren't optimized for android 11.

The UI issues will be fixed in an update coming by today or tomorrow, and as for the apps, the developers need to optimize them for Android 11, it's not a device side issue.

There is a patched build of magisk available on Telegram, i.e Magisk Canary, you need to use that since Topjohnwu still hasn't released a stable version of Magisk for android 11 as of now.

What I meant is that at the bottom of your post it said ROM OS Version: Android 10, but it's not the case anymore since it's edited to show the right version.
Also, the way I had to install it is that I had to do a data format and then do the usual process, otherwise it would bootloop, could that effect anything?
Also also, please change the Version information at the bottom of your post at Status to "Unstable" since some people get problems with newly installed apps.

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

In my opinion paranoid Android is kinda like lineage but built with CAF sources instead of aosp sources
How do I migrate from MIUI 12? Do I just factory reset and flash or do I need to format my storage entirely?

Is it safe to remove gapps? And if yes, whats the best way to do it?
It's cool that you included DT2S and DT2W. Fingerprint scanning still blinks the screen. I hope it can be good as stock someday. One bug I encountered is OTG. When I insert mine it restarts automatically. Tried 3x but it always does that. The sound volume is a bit lower compared to stock. Overall this ROM didn't disappoint. It's worth the wait.
Flashed from Miui.... Didn't boot...... Stuck at animation, Flashed stock rom and then flashed rom.... Same thing... Both cases with their respective Data Wipe

The only option i can think of is deleting manually, which is not safe.

I'll look into that.
Consider donating as it would be easier to fix up bugs with the device.

If you installed SHRP after flashing rom zip, that could be the issue.

I somehow messed up my installation and ended formatting again my device. After the setup, I tried again my OTG and it now works. Really weird. But yes, I'll definitely consider donating so you can fix your Mi A3.

How hard is it and how much time would it take to degoogle the ROM and build it without gapps?

non-gapps build, even if anyone compiles, would'nt be official. And would certainly miss out some official features like face unlock, app lock etc
