I think everyone is waiting for the oreo+treble update before trying to boot aosp on them. It would be a lot of unnecesary effort to port aosp if treble will make it a lot easier.

Yes but the 9 lite has Oreo out of the box, so the devs had something to work with.

Maimang 6 is also nova 2i and also honor 9i/mate 10 lite in some countries. here in Asia it's nova 2i.

look in huawei mate 10 lite. there is only one rom. huawei nova 2i is also huawei mate 10 lite/honor 9i.

Mate 10 LITE, not normal Mate 10 surely. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want a brick.
