gps spoofing app working on Shield 2019 model (8.2 fw) - Nvidia Shield TV & Shield TV Pro (2019) Questions

Hi there,
I am trying to figure out an app that actually works to spoof my gps location on a Nvidia shield tv 2019 model.
I tried two of them : Floater and gps spoof.
I enabled developer options menu, and did select the mocking app under the debug menu.
I then start the app and pick a location, in gps spoof, and then press the "start" button. gps spoof then goes in the background, but when I check my location on websites like mylocation.org, I'm still located near my real home.
This is problematic as some live tv services cannot be used outside of my home network, and I cannot use them when traveling
Anyone here figured this out before me and has a working app ? Any help would be welcome.
Thanks !!!

If you have rooted device and installed xposed, you may can mock the gps

Tried FakeGPS ?

Using GPS enabled Apps on the Advent Vega

Some GPS enabled apps on the Vega dont always work or even load.
This is because the device doesnt have a gps location to pass over to the App. One way around this is to install the following Application "My fake location" from the Market and set your GPS location manually.
Hope this helps.
Yes, "My fake location" works well, but you have to remember to fire it up before you run applications that use the GPS. Not a big issue, but something to remember.
Also my fake location force closes on certain roms. Just flashing a later version of pauls rom has fixed it for me.

[Q] Any app that requests GPS crashes :(

Hi Guys/Girls,
My first post having got hold of my first Android tablet 7" MID A13 really impressed for the price I've not stopped messing with it, but I seem to have a problem. For some reason Google Maps and Google Earth seem to crash unless I use Location Spoofer to fake my location, my device does not have GPS but surly this shouldn't matter, any ideas?
Hi, if you don't have GPS, you won't be able to pinpoint your location.. unless you set it to a specific location.

Yer I understand that but Surely the program shouldn't crash on load is there anyway to permanently fake a gps position in a config file somewhere?
What options do you have checked in the location settings?

Location services for nook hd+

Hi Everyone,
I was trying to test out a WiFi tethering application (Open Garden). Open garden on Nook HD+ said that it needs the location services. I had turned off WiFi because I was trying to use Bluetooth tethering. Since HD+ does not have GPS, I could not do it. But even if I were to turn the WiFi on, how do I enable location services?
Also has anybody tried WiFi tethering of Nook HD+ to a cell phone for internet connection?
Thank you for any help.
Best Regards,
RaliR

You have to be rooted and open the settings database with SQLite Editor. And change the blank value in location allowed to network.

Hi Leapinlar,
Thank you for your quick note. I did go into the settings database and made a couple of changes though nothing stood out very clearly. Can I impose on you to give me very specific instructions if you could. Obviously what I tried did not solve my problem.
Thank you again for being patient and helpful to newbies.

Open the settings database in settings storage. Click on the secure table. Look for location providers allowed. In the value, it was originally blank. Type in network. Then install Google maps. You can get it on someone0's gapps thread. Then go to settings, device info, developers options and toggle the mock locations checkbox until the allow Google location dialog box pops up. Say ok. You are done.

Ok, this seems to work for me. After following these directions above, I downloaded two apps, GPS Bluetooth to my nook and Bluetooth GPS output to my phone (galaxy nexus). Pair the devices, follow directions for each including set mock location provider in the tablet app, and voila, I have a GPS enabled Google maps on my tablet!
I also tether with Wi-Fi to get data. Now if I could just get the compass to connect...
Ps, need to wake lock my phone on GPS, uses a lot of power, with GPS, BT, 4g, and Wi-Fi all running.

I never get any pop up dialog box when I enable mock locations. I've updated my settings to network and tried uninstalling/reinstalling Maps before updating the mock locations but nothing happens when I turn it on and Maps isn't finding me. Any ideas?

I do. I'm rooted, running Google Play, Gmail, YouTube and Movies & TV. Maps installs fine and will function to look up a location or map directions but when I tap the icon to find my current location I get a small white box on the screen but I can't read it because it must be in white font.

Radiko.jp - GPS region locked app

Greetings,
I'm desperate to get a region locked app to work -It is a Japanese IP Radio streaming app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.radiko.Player&hl=en
I had FakeGPS installed as system app - so no need to enable mock location
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incorporateapps.fakegps&hl=en
Set location to Shinjuku, Tokyo - Verified location through Google Maps
Had PureVPN connected to Tokyo - Verified i'm assigned Tokyo IP through whatismyipadress.com
Done all the above - NO DICE - radiko.jp app would load then close itself - this program behaviour is usually due to attempt to intialise the app outside Japan
I'd really appreciate if there is another way to get this region-locked app working
FYI - I'm on stock root touchwiz 6.0.1- systemless root SuperSU - SM-G900I
Installed Xposed by Wanam SDK23 and Fake my GPS with Tokyo IP - Still no Joy - Fake my GPS uses a cool method to spoof location - I'm surprised that this doesn't work as well...
Is there some kind of debug log tool I could use to see what is it that is causing the app to close?
WTF... changed system time, timezone, region and locale to Japan, UTC/GMT +09:00 still no joy
I am having the same problem with this app, except I have not gone through the process of faking my location. I am running stock Nexus 5 with root. I believe the app might be detecting root.

How to disable "Fused Location Service"?

Hi,
I'm using an app called GPS Joystick to mock location and it worked fine on my previous nexus devices.
Now that i have a Huawei P9 Lite, i can not manage to make it work as before and it keep rubberbanding between real location and mock location.
The developper give the information that all that is done is disabling "Fused Location Service" in order to avoid that.
Trying to do that directly with an app like disable services, i cannot reboot (stuck at attached screen every time) the phone once the service is disabled, and i have to restore from a previous backup.
Anyone can help me understand what is specific to that phone to disable location services so that app can not get access to real location even if GPS is enabled?
Thanks
I have the same problem with p9lite using fake gps ... Anyone know how patch it?

Hey your p9lite is branded or debranded?
I had the same issue when disabling location service, phone went to bootloop. It never happen to other phones. guess huawei lock the service so that its hard to disable it. anyone has success to disable location service without bootloop??
I have the same issue with Huawei P8. Everytime I disabled fused location service can't boot the phone...
Have you tried older roms? Before security patch?
