New battery - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hello!
My display recently broke, and I intend to keep this phone for more 2 or 3 years.
Since I'm going to ship it to Oneplus for the repair, should I also get a new battery?
Mine had arround 85% life and it was almost crossing the 2 years mark.

It would be great if you could replace the battery as you are planning to use this phone for 2-3 years, moreover it won't cost much.

why are Mogul 1500mah batteries so cheap?

I am in the market for a replacement battery because after 2 years of use my Mogul battery is almost depleted after a 10 min. phone call.
I looked at the Seido 1650mah to get more juice in the same physical size (no hump) and it's $45.
http://store.wmexperts.com/seidio-1650mah-oem-size-extended-battery/8A37A2932.htm
Then I noticed that the stock 1500mah batteries are selling for $6? (on ebay and amazon)
Is there something I'm missing here, they are advertised as "new". Has anyone had experience with these replacement 1500mah not performing? If these will get me back to stock battery life then maybe I'll settle for just the 1500. I just don't see why the price disparity.
I bought one on Ebay a couple months back from wirelessstoreusa. $6.77 with free shipping.
It was marked identically with the battery I received with the phone, and performs fine. I figured that even if it just lasted six months, I could get a lot of replacements before I broke even buying a more expensive battery and paying shipping.
Unless you need a higher mah battery, I'd go with the cheap one!
I got 2 for free at a local Sprint store. They were slightly used but in good working condition plus they were free so I wasn't complaining.
Ok thanks. I guess I'll go for the 1500 then.
I went with a cheap one from Amazon and it seems to be performing the same, if not worse, as the battery I was replacing. In other words my original battery is over a year old and won't last one day, and the new one does about the same. Maybe my memory is failing, but I thought when I first bought the phone the battery was lasting longer than that.
Despite this, I think it will suffice as I don't anticipate having this phone for much more than six more months.
Thanks for posting this. I am curious to see if others have had a similar experience.

Battery replacement recommendation for Nexus One

I am looking for a Nexus One replacement battery. Any recommendation appreciated on where to buy something good and reliable (and what to stay away from).
A battery with a higher capacity but same form factor as the standard one would be great.
Thanks.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the opposite of what most people will probably tell you... Go to eBay! I wouldn't eBay if you definitely need an extended battery, but if another battery with the same capacity of the original is good enough for you, you can get cheap knockoffs that perform as well as the stock battery without it costing you an arm and a leg.
My G1's previous owner must've overheated the original battery or something... it's puffed up and barely fits anymore and it doesn't hold more than an hour or two charge. I ordered a pack of three batteries off eBay that came with a wall charger. I got the batteries a couple weeks later. One battery was completely dead. One only holds about 90% as much as a stock battery usually does. One was perfect. I contacted the seller about the dead battery and he refunded my purchase price completely, no return required. All in all, it worked out pretty well for me... and the original cost was only seven or eight dollars.

Disgraceful battery, used phone -- options?

Hi all,
Bought my 6P used a year ago to the day.
Recently, along with the ever-looming battery shutdown bug (32%), I've been struggling to even get an hour SoT, and can go for a short walk with 50% battery and come back with a dead phone.
Huawei refuse to do anything as I do not have original proof-of-purchase for the phone, so my only options are to do things myself or pay someone else.
What are my options here? Will a battery replacement resolve my issues? Replacement genuine batteries seem expensive, are cheap knockoffs to be trusted?
Here is my findings.
I reset my 6P and fully charged. Let it on without using it, it last at least 20 hours and still 59% power left. Then I took 3 photos and it shutdown right away.
I think it is the software issue. Replace battery won't fix it.
Bought my phone used through Swappa and had no proof of purchase, but was still able to convince Google to send me an RMA phone a few weeks ago. Accubattery said the old one had like 70% battery capacity, while the new one is reporting 103% now and my SOT is probably double. So maybe complain away to Google reps until they decide to just RMA it...
Hi, who did you contact for this? I can't find a link on Google's site.
Thanks
Buy a new battery form ebay for 9.99 and it comes with the tools needed to swap with the exception of a x-acto knife or heat gun, but you can use a hair dryer just make sure not to apply heat on the camera or you will have to replace it as well. Buy the one form seller 8-50855 which offers the battery with a temp sensor. The process takes about 20-30 minutes, but it makes a huge difference to have a new battery. Now I get 5-6 hours SoT with heavy usage with pure nexus and custom kernel(Francos) 103% health as well and no more shutting off at 25%.

Unfortunately in the UK they are harder to source.
One thing that worries me is - do you need to glue the phone back together?

they are easy to get in the uk, if you dont trust ebay, i use this company for all my spares for the nexus 6p
https://www.replacebase.co.uk/for-huawei-nexus-6p-replacement-battery-hb416683ecw-3450mah-oem/
also you dont need glue to reassemble the phone, not sure if the battery is held down but if it is, the some double sided m3 tape would do the trick.

Sound, pulled the trigger and ordered off ebay. Now to hope I don't break it taking it apart!
I may end up doing a battery swap also. I;ve had my 6P for 14 months and the battery is only at 65% of it's capacity. This is by far the worst performing battery I have ever had. I'm getting something like 2 hours of SOT. My LG G5, which I've owned longer, has held up MUCH better in the battery department.
I basically move it from charger to charger (car, desk, night stand). I was at an even this weekend and was sure to bring my battery pack to make sure it wouldn't run out of juice during the 8 hours I was there.
I treat my batteries well, and try to never let them discharge below 50% if possible.
I get 2 hours on a VERY good day!
Battery replaced, a little more hassle than it really should be, but let's see how this goes.

Note 8 is Dead.

Well, my trusty Note 8 is dead. I've had this for several years. Love the 8" size and the SPen.
Two weeks ago the tablet was dead so I plugged it in for a charge. Came back several hours later to nothing. (Plug works fine) Tried a hard reboot via buttons, nope.
So I ordered a new battery, and got it yesterday. Opened up the case, replaced the battery and plugged it in. Well several hours later and still nothing. ?
As mentioned I love the 8" size and thr SPen. I don't see a newer version of this, so off to shop.

Unfortunately they kind of abandoned this. I have mine bought it used 2 years ago I think. Bought a battery after the seller told me the battery was going, it wasn't the battery and it still works just fine

Ya, they seem to be focusing on the 10" tablet range.

hi, you seems to have the same problem as mine,I replaced the charging board (see attached) common fault, purchased one from ebay.
you mentioned you replaced the battery ? sound serious problem or the battery was not connected properly ? some shops out to cheat, pretend that they replaced a NEW battery but actually its an old battery from somewhere. a new battery usually have a 30% charged
Note8 very easy to open, just the back cover, a screw driver will get the charging board replaced
:fingers-crossed:

If you can avoid it don't get a battery off of whatever site your getting it from unless it's genuine Samsung. The knockoffs try to play it off as Samsung but it isn't

Good, get the qualified tech to check, battery dead or the chipset dead by using the multimeter for voltage etc.:good:
its still wise to change the power board, NOT repair the board bcos the board is very sensitive to be repaired even the "expert" at the repair shops I went thru the years cant do a good job repairing the power board. funny symtoms of note8, always ended in the powerboard, "sometimes it charge n sometimes it doesn't charge at all." never the battery. never had problem with the battery, yet ! :cyclops:
*not expensive to buy a powerboard n they send internationally.
PS" in the end i swop a new powerboard, my note8 comes back alive kicking n never need another repair for 3 years now.

its abt the power, power board simply means controller of all your power, dude :victory:
its a common fault in your note 8.0 all leads to the power board.
if handled normally ofcos :fingers-crossed:
forget abt giving the expert to repair the board, jumper wire works but only afew days or months. your best bet is replace the power board !!! end of repair, new life to your note 8.0 :laugh::laugh:

Note 8 battery dead after 2 replacement

I am DIY guy. About three months ago I had issues with my Note 8 (phone). It started with battery going from 100 to 0 in just few hours, each day it would take less and less time to do that until about a week later battery wouldnt hold charge and charge at all. No brainer - Battery is dead. Ordered new battery and replaced it. Worked fine for about a month and then the same thing happened in exactly the same manner. Started scratching my head, and came to a conclusion that the replacement battery might be faulty. So ordered another one again and replaced it . Worked great again for a month , would charge and hold charge until about a week ago the exact same thing happened only this time it took only 3 days for the battery to die completely. Has anyone encountered this weird issue? Both of my batteries were from iFixit store and they werent cheap- about £25. Now I have no idea whether to try another battery ?
