Currently I have lookout (free version) installed, however I do not use it for the security, but rather for the feature where you can track your lost phone on google maps. Basically, all the security apps just scan the installed apps against a list of apps that are known to be malicious, and warn you if it finds one. Some of the paid security apps also have browser protection... but to me that's not worth $5. So, they're not really necessary however some have other useful features...
I use lookout also on my galaxy tab

Incompatible apps

I've now found about 6 incomplete apps that use to work on my One X, most of them are games but one was an important banking app. How are you guys finding it?
Also will they eventually be fixed to work on our device?

I think most of it is down to the screen resolution not being supported yet.
Try this fix
Thanks for that, didn't know he had released a "non root" version as well.

Will the apps still run in full screen using this method as it tricks the display into a smaller resolution?

I found the HSBC Fast Balance App worked on my old HTC Desire but not on the HTC One. I thought it was an Android issue since I was running 4.0 on my old HTC Desire.
Any fixes for this app?

Yes, i believe it doesn't trick the display into a smaller resolution, just tricks the store to think it is a different resolution.....if that makes sense?

I would like to root my nexus 4 but the problem is I use mobile banking and banking apps don't work well with rooted phones. Is there a way out of this?

There are some things that will allow you to temp unroot while you use apps like that but for a complete work around there is no option. Rooting is seen as a security flaw and that is why banking apps have made it so they dont work if root is detected.

Do you know what I can use to temp unroot my phone?
Have you actually checked whether or not your bank app checks for root?
I use my banking app all the time without any problems on a rooted phone.

Not all apps allow it. My banking app for the federal credit union doesn't allow rooted devices.
As for wanting the app. Check the market for temp unroot

Like others said it depends on the bank.
Since the op is in the UK, im guessing it's barclays i'm pretty sure they are the only uk bank who blocks root users. @Mubz_C you should go to Halifax, it's better

Ha... Even Halifax have said their next update will be an app that won't work on rooted devices, hopefully one of these root cloak apps will suffice as a workaround.

Lol talk about a delayed response, from 2013
But seriously, I am a Halifax customer and I am pissed at the new update, they have already implemented it so now I can only use there sh*tty mobile ui.
Already tried using a root cloak but it doesn't work

You had to expect it. I mean root is a security issue on devices. Last thing you need is a root app that has a built in Key logger.
Need help.. root cloack+xposed, magisk (hide root) can not help?
Please mandiri bank app still detect super su, busy box, xposed

There is no way to hide Xposed, u'll have yo disable it. Magisk works well if u don't have Xposed.
Ps: don't know what detection method the bank app u reference uses.

Thanks both - the Barclays app doesn't like (won't run on) rooted phones, or CyanogenMod (I believe), which is a real pain.
Just did a live chat with OnePlus, 'Danielito' assures me that it will run!
If it can't, install xposed then install RootCloak, configure it to work for Barclay's app then reboot. Worked for me for my bank app which doesn't work on rooted device before

Thanks for your interest. I have never found a way of getting the Barclays app to work on a rooted phone, and as far as I'm aware neither has anyone else. I actually have a rooted phone right now - Jiayu S3 - and whatever I've tried, the app still won't run (it says it can't run on rooted devices).
And to be honest, I just want to be able to install the app without having to do anything else!

I've tested myself and yeah, rootcloak no longer works. U may have just to settle on www.barclays.mobi if you wanna use on rooted devices.
The developers of rootcloak stated that Barclays app was updated to utilize the method of detecting through native library which is very difficult to bypass/hide away.

I have updated my post above with the explanation. Basically at the current moment the app wont run on any rooted device unless someone found a new way to bypass it. This is not a device specific issue. It applies to all rooted devices by how the root binary logic works.
And if you're not gonna root, yeah it will work
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
Just to clarify, the OP2 doesn't come rooted so you should be fine with the app.
Very wrong. The Barclay's App wouldn't run on dual SIM phones. They're such clowns.
I left Barclay's over this final straw and went to Lloyds.
But you still have to manage without root.
Exactly! Barclay banking app developers are f**king clowns!!! bought my self a zenfone 2 today (which is also dual sim) and the app wont even open. it just crashes. Spoke to barclays customer services and tech people and guess what they said?.... Said their app does not support Intel processors..... I MEAN WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K!!! what do they want me to do? sell my £200 phone and by another crappy spec one just to run there app? Absolutly ridiculous, iam fumin!
I ran Barclays app on my stock OnePlus 2 for over 2 years without any issue.

Does Battery monitoring apps like BBS break Android Pay?

Hi,
Lately my battery has been a lot worse on my 6P and I mean to install an app to try to figure out the cause, but most of them require to be installed as system app.
I use android pay daily, and I'm on stock rooted (systemless).
Would installing one of those apps as system app break android pay?
Thank you very much!
I have BBS installed but not as a system app and it seems to work fine. My device passes the safetynet check but I rarely have the opportunity to use Android Pay. I've actually only been to one place that accepted AP but it worked there with no issue a couple months ago.

I'm running unrooted with the gsam root companion app in system-priv (installed via twrp), and am able to use Android pay. I'm currently using N preview 4, but pretty sure this worked on M as well.
