Identifying nearby GPS component on motherboard - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please could somebody help me identify the component marked 'R6214 E6' inside the red circle? The picture is taken from a spare motherboard I have. My daily tablet got run over the other day, screen smashed. So I swapped in a replacement screen and now everything works again apart from the GPS. Initially I thought that perhaps the antenna in the back case wasn't making a good connection to the motherboard, however I see nothing in logcat that indicates that the Broadcom BCM4751 GPS chip has identified itself upon boot. So I think that IC is not functioning correctly. I could buy another tablet for not a lot of money but I like a challenge.

Replacement Camera

I was at our local air show this weekend taking a video of an F-16 with my 8525 and about ten minutes later I noticed that my camera's sensor had been burned by the the intense light. Well after a couple of days of wallowing in my stupidity I decided that I would just replace the camera. Does any one know where I can find a camera to replace the one in my 8525?

Also worth trying ebay for a "parted out" Hermes.
Curious to know what your symtoms are???

nice nice nice
Well, when it is burned like you said, then it will by very hard to get a new transistor for it. So maybe you could search on the second hand market for a HTC HD2 with a broken screen and change that part on the photo.

[Q] hardware issue

Hi I cracked my screen on my gt-9505 , as I have a spare phone that drops signal I decided to transfer the motherboard from the phone with the cracked screen to the phone which doesn't hold signal. from what I have read the receiver is on the motherboard so I thought all would be good. I still can't get signal on the old phone with the new board in it but can Still get signal on the phone with a cracked screen with the motherboard which was dropping signal. Have I missed something?. Is there a signal receiver somewhere else I need to also transfer. It's really got me stumped .
try to replace antenna

Nexus 7 touch unresponsive

I have been using this device for more than 5 yrs. Recently screen rotation was not working so I tried to repair it by myself after watching some videos and forums. It was an easy process but due to my curiosity I dug into the hardware some more. During the process I mistakenly broke a piece from ZIF connector which was connected to the display. I don't know whether this could do anything to the touch. Now the touch becomes unresponsive. I am also thinking that the digitiser could be faulty but not ready to invest in a new one without knowing the real reason. Why this connector is for. Could this be the culprit? If so do I need to change the daughterboard? You can see the picture

Request: hidef photo of screen connector on mobo (New Screen troubleshooting)

Hello and thanks in advance for any help.
I am happily running PH-1 with stock system, no mods of any kind as my daily, and now on my 3rd replacement screen.
This time around, one of the surface mount components came off (glue job gone bad, long story) and I want to replace it, myself, which I am able to do though I need to I.D. the component.
Attached pic of my connector, and showing which component that I'm needing to ID.
My screen works though I've no touch-response and I'm thinking it must have somethin to do with the missing part of the circuit.
Yes I've looked at the possibility of resetting and forcing a recalibrate etc... I didn't have to reset with my previous 2 replacements. So first I'd like to take care of this item just to put it aside, hoping that it's the problem.
Again thanks for any help, I've searched for quite some time and have not found schematics nor a hi-def enough image of that area.
