Twrp 3.4.0-0 sm-t825 - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Here's a functional TWRP with a revamped UI ported from the TAB S2.
I am not responsible for ANYTHING to do with this image. Use at your own risk! I can provide only limited help because I myself learned this in one week.
SEANDROID IS NOT ENFORCING? - No Problem - it doesn't mean anything! If you do know how to repack twrp in order to remove that message please show.
Thanks for the sources - @ashyx @Valera1978 and tab s2 twrp team.
I don't have a tab s3 non lte but you can try using it!
Download link:
2020 august twrp 3.4:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fnh0wvqe8qwvqu0/t825twrp_3.4.0-0.img?dl=0 for T825!!!!
thanks to bmwdroid for sharing the file!
To flash: flash this with ashyx's twrp or Valera's repack by selecting install image and then selecting recovery!
Good luck and please press the thanks button!

Everything works!

have you tried it on your tab?

Everything worked fine. All functions are still working. I can attach a screenshot a little later

Screenshot.
Later I'll post a version with modified icons, of course, if the author of the topic does not mind

Yup I don't mind! You wouldn't by any chance know how disable the text seandroid not enforcing? It annoys me! But without doing it when compiling directly from the tarp tree because it doesn't exist; I only followed a simple twrp porting guide!

@Alex20137 thanks for this, moved tab s3 from dead point. what can be benefit of this? is it opening door to some lineage breakthrough?

@ivanox1972
I now support lineage 17 security updates, so if security was a fright from upgrading, never fear!

Unfortunately, the images that I used before are not suitable for this version of twrp. I can just lay them out, suddenly someone wants to redraw
View attachment images.zip

also installed this twrp. so far so good.

Hi @Alex20137! How did you do this?
I'll definitely try it rn on my Tab S3

Don't bother yourself - does NOT work on SM-t820 wifi - too bad.
Yesss. Don't bother yourself - does NOT work on SM-t820 wifi - too bad.
Not sure, if the installation attempt took place in the right way.
I only tried two times (install via twrp 3.2.1-1).
Maybe you have more success with a fresh system !?
Had to restore the recovery system with Odin ... I don't mind.
Still, it's nice that the two tablets are still alive and in use.

[PATCH] Fix Arabic [RTL] on GB 4.5.91

Hello there
I have managed to get fix Arabic on GB 4.5.91, through patching and compiling framework.jar and libwebcore.so.
This will work on every rom that is based on AT&T 4.5.91.
Here is how to patch your phone:
Manually
1) Be sure that your phone is Rooted and Deodexed.
2)Download GBArabic.zip attached and extract it on your phone.
3)Now using Root Explorer or any other root file mangers.
Copy framework.jar to /system/framework/ and fix the permissions
Copy libwebcore.so, libicuuc-arabic.so and libandroid_runtime.so to /system/lib/, and fix the permissions
Be sure that you set permission for all, or you will stuck in bootloop.
4) Reboot and enjoy.
or
CWM Flashable File
1) Be sure that your phone is Rooted and Deodexed.
2)Download CWM-Arabic.zip attached and place it on your phone.
3)Boot into the recovery, and flash the file.
4) Reboot and Enjoy
p.s.
I am quite new here in the forum. So I couldn't post this on the Dev Forum.

Changes
Changes:
7/29/2011:
Added CWM zip file
Arabic Files for CherryBlur v1.4d Rom ( it's based on ORFR and not working with At&t)
http://www.mediafire.com/?zd93z9leslz6wtc ... tested by me
Thanks Jack,
Does the Browser and Gmail show Arabic correctly in ORFR?
If it worked, I will update my post.
If not, could try and use my libwebcore.so on your phone, and report back to me?
no it's doesn't support the browser
and sorry I changed the rom and can't test the new files
Successfully Installed - CWM Version
Just flashed the CWM file. Working on Alien ROM.
Works perfectly (RTL needs some alignment "observed in Facebook App only"). Donation is on the way! Extra ordinary work and Cheers!

copied the files manually while half asleep, seems that I've messed up ... was stuck in the boot screen, downloaded the automated installation file, applied it and now it works perfectly !
RTL is still not right in gmail messages, but that's super low priority

What you did wrong the first time, is that you haven't set up the permission, but hey you were half sleep I won't blame you .
I just noticed the alignment of Gmail, and droidace says it happen on Facebook.
It seems that these two apps, use different files to show alignment than the browser.
I will take a look at it.
Thanks for reporting, and hope you enjoy it.

How did you update to 4.5.91 ? official update, SBF, OTA, other ? I am still not sure what's the safest way to go to .91 with everyone warning about bricks on this forum
how did you root/deodex ?
Sorry for my dump questions if they sounded so, But i am new into this coming from the iOS land and overwhelmed with all the terms
Thanks mdd5
Hello Ramy, and welcome.
Since you are new here, I will encourage to take a look at THE BEGINNERS (N00B) GUIDE!!!

Now to answer your questions,
ramy_Maia said:

I did update to 4.5.91, by unlocking the bootloader and flashing one of the roms here on dev section, not official.
I am still not sure what's the safest way to go to .91 with everyone warning about bricks on this forum
Everything is safe as long as you follow the guide.
many of the bricks happen here is because people updated to .91 using official then tried sbf to an older version.
When you update using official, you can't flash an older version.
how did you root/deodex ?
As of now, the only way to have root and deodex on .91 is by flashing unofficial ROMs
So you will need to unlock the bootloader and flash one.
Sorry for my dump questions if they sounded so, But i am new into this coming from the iOS land and overwhelmed with all the terms
Your question are not dumb, I was just like a couple of weeks ago.
However, it is better to ask questions like this in Atrix 4G Q&A forum, so you get better answers and faster than here. You can also use search

mdd5,
I picked up your comment on my blog and I wanted to let you know that I added your Atrix GB libwebcore.so to my blog with a special note to you. If you would mind that for any reason, please let me know and I'll remove the link and recompile the sources myself.
Great work. I'm glad to see people using my blog and the sources to get Android arabized
Options of Arabic Fonts
Not really sure if there is an option to change the Arabic fonts? Any ideas?
Awesome work anyway with or without fonts
Thank you for your effort
In Alien Rom, Does it work for Write & Read or full (with menus)?
same question in Cherry Rom.

TWRP 2.4.X.X on GTab 2 7"

It seems that the Gtab 2 7" devices do not have a current version of TWRP, the last one I found was an unofficial version, 2.1.1, from over 6 months ago. Anyway, I contacted Team Win member Dees_Troy via PM and he responded.
Quote by Dees_Troy:
Someone ported the p5xxx tabs and gave me the device configuration files so that we could add it to our official list. No one has done that with the p3xxx series though I'm pretty sure I could port them fairly easily if I can find device files and testers.
Edit: Forum member joeinternet was good enough to compile new TWRP builds for P3113, which also should work with P3110. He has compiled versions 2.4.1.0 and 2.4.4.0 and uploaded them to his dropbox. Here's Joe's post in this thread with links to the TWRP builds, both tar and image file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38794003&postcount=10
Please also read through this thread for more info and be sure to thank joe for his work. I think it's probably a good idea at this time to use the 2.4.4.0 build.
Thanks,
Mike T

I replied back to Dees_Troy today and am waiting to hear back from him. But in the meantime, if anyone knows what he needs regarding device configuration files please respond here, as I'm not sure exactly what he will need. As for testers, I'm sure there will be enough of us on this forum to test it.
I think it would be great to get an official version of TWRP for our device, so any help here is appreciated.

TWRP 2.4.1.0 for GT-P3113
With the help of Dees_Troy, helicopter88, MrHyde03 and the various other guides out there, I compiled TWRP 2.4.1.0 for the gt-p3113. This is for the US-version wi-fi with the IR port. I've only tested it on my device and it works for backups, decryption and the like.
Files are here for the time being: one is for a straight dd within an adb shell and the other (.md5) is ODIN-flashable.

Good job! I will test later tonight. My thanks of course also to Dees_Troy, helicopter88 and Mr Hyde03. I hope others will test this so we can get it on TWRP's official list of releases.
One question, you mention the P3113. Will it only work on the 3113, or can it also work on P3110, even though it doesn't have the IR blaster? I have the 3113 but just thinking about the others. Thanks again for your contribution.

No problem. I'm not sure why the dropbox link is dead - I tried attaching it here without any luck. Let me know if you have any ideas of better hosting for them.
MrHyde03 has a Verizon version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2061639
But I don't think that's for a 3110 version. As Dees_Troy pointed out, we'd need the files from the 3110 in order to do a build.

Wouldn't the config files for the 3110 be here? https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_samsung_p3110
I just did a backup and I'm in the process of restoring it. I noticed that backups only go to external storage, I am unable to select internal. Is this by design? The restore just completed and all seems good. I'll try flashing some zips later tonight.

Thanks for testing and I'm glad to hear it (sort-of) worked.
I set it to build external by default as internal storage can get a little skimpy.
I think the error is that I built it thinking internal storage was at /sdcard, which has changed on 4.2. I'll have to tinker around with it to get it right. While I'm at it, I'll sync with the 2.4.3.0 tree.

Small bug: When in TWRP if you select Reboot then Power off, it shuts down but when you power back up, it boots into recovery instead of into the OS. It's minor but I think it should be fixed. I haven't fully tested but flashed some zips successfully, as well as renaming backups.

Thanks a lot Mr wuby986,you save my life, after trying many methods on s6 reverted touchscreen, and all failed, tried yours and works, thanks a lot once again.
Worked for me!
I somehow got into this state on my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 (N910T) when I flashed the latest TWRP (v3.0.2-0). At first I flashed the .img using my existing TWRP 2.8.7, but then I was unable to boot into recovery. I then used ODIN to flash the .tar version which worked. However, after rebooting into the system my touch was all messed up. Thankfully the stylus worked just fine so I was able to use that to use my phone until I found this thread.
I did *#2663# in the dialer, saw my versions didn't match and did the update as per the OP. Everything is back to normal now!
This fixed my screen glitch. You make me love the internet. I found this page only after several hours of searching.
I had tried to update to TWRP 3.0 with the Android app but selected the wrong device (Note 4 Edge instead of Note 4).

But I have a G920P running 5.0.2. (and I'd like to keep my firmware where it is). What can I do!? HELP!
I had root, but I needed to install a recovery so I could install Xposed Framework so I could enable a module. And here we are...
Update: This issue was solved for me. TWRP still won't boot, but at least my touch issue is gone.

[Q] Can the Ouya still be rooted

Hi
All the threads are old and have mixed results.
I picked up a Ouya at a thrift store for 15 bux. Would like to root but dont want to trash it. Is there a new method that works.
I powered it up and it took an update yesterday so its at the latest.
There's a search button for that reason. Just try it...

did you try frameroot?
I'm not sure why non of the guides work for you. I used the root tool in ouyas own store the other day on an ouya my friend didn't want anymore and it worked fine.

Like a couple years ago when I rooted my first ouya I used fastboot and cwm. But I'm pretty sure there was an all in one ouya adb tool that would did everything you could possible need root cwm Roms backups I will have to take a look when I get home but I have the apk on a backup drive somewhere. I will try to find it for you.

Thanks, after much pounding around I got it rooted. Could not get the google apps working but no big deal.
So for those looking----it is still possible as of June 2015

Correct. I did it last night with a mix of Kingroot (older version, the new stops working at 18%) and the updated xposed and playstore zip file.
If anyone needs, and if it's allowed, I will post the files later.
I had my ouya rooted, collecting dust.. Then decided to flash an AOSP rom, and bricked it.. Looked and found this video,I achieve root, boot menu , cm11 with this video . http://youtu.be/fYwZ_l31-G8 , beware.. Strange sounds in the background ... ?

this http://club.lenovo.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1156890 chinese version
Thanks but no thanks
I don't understand chinese
Anybody want to help me? Please
Download this file http://preview.tinyurl.com/z3wwuyp. ( patched file)
Save to an easy located place.
Connect your computer to the tablet and start fastboot(volume up and down together and power button)should show fastboot starting.
Open a CMD window on your computer and type cd c:\ to get to just a c prompt.
Then type fastboot flash ESP This bit then should read the full location of the unzipped file that is patched.
An example like mine is fastboot flash ESP c:/adb/1050f-esp-patched.img , this is how I did mine and I have an unlocked bootloader and permanent TWRP
So this actually unlocks the BL? How many users have test-tried this and can confirm?

They do work, I can confirm
The files were originally made by ionioni and workdowg i believe and they work!! All the tutorials have been deleted for some reason so now all the rest of the users are either stuck at a boot screen or cant upgrade (like me).
@corasman was bright enough to capture some of the files. He has saved my bacon at least for now.
Again, @all on lollipop - if you are stuck at a loop or cant upgrade flash the files in this post

So they work, but there's no proper tutorials to ensure that things are done properly, is what you're saying?
Also, the deletion/closing of those threads is baffling. Does anybody know the reason? Maybe the moderators can chime in.
I believe XDA rules say something about source code for files must be open source, and if I have read right ionioni infringed the rules.

In this thread . /general/flash-phone-flash-tools-t3307272. I messed up my system and ionioni really helped me out, maybe people can read enough to rescue their systems.
No probs Adrian dude... Thanks again...
Well for the tutorials, the original threads maybe closed but there is still valuable info there.
I read the first 15 pages of the boot-loader thread and realised I need a stock boot-loader as it kept coming up error when trying to installing the latest 256 update.
Hope all that are in peril recover quickly now

At the moment I am sticking with KitKat until a modified ROM is hopefully produced.
Changed my mind,
I now have full unlocked bootloader and TWRP with the latest upgrade.

I might... I collected ALL the files from EVERYONE (regardless of whether they were explained...) since they started working on these YT2's.... The bootloader should be the same on all the 830's. No one ever got back to say it worked (tang?????). PM me....
