Hi, I'm here facing the same problem. But I started to face this issue before android 10 update has arrived. After update, the issue is still there. So, I have made factory reset thrice. Still there is no use. So, I have visited service center, there they told me that to fix the issue, it will be costing around INR 4000. Thank god that at the time of purchase, I took extended warranty from Reliance digital, Three days ago they took the device and they told that repair will be done in 14 working days. Till now, I didn't know what was the exact problem but they are telling that mostly, it was a hardware problem. Hoping that the issue will be gone.

Hi, I got my device delivered today. And unfortunately the issue still persists... So, it is clear that it is not a hardware issue. I think that this issue was started from the last security patch of color os 6.

Same thing, this is a software issue.

Yes it's a software issue some people facing after cos6 c26 update

after f.10 update, the problem seems to be fixed, the phone is working smoothly now

Nexus 4 Random touches on its own

Hey All,
I have nexus 4.. I was on stock rom 4.4.2 and suddenly three days back my phone started to be weird.. I see randomn touches on my phone. ( i have enable option show touches in devloper options..)
I was using art runtime..
So when i press the power button and lock the phone twice then i unlock it runs normally..
But these started to occur very frequently..
When it happens it freezes my phone or you can say touchscreen doesnt work sometimes it just freezes..
So i decided to Factory rest my phone i thought it was some apps having bug..
But it was still happening..
So I finally installed Cm11 with the installer.. I still have the issue...
Any Solutions?
It first showed when i was charging my phone but later it happened when i was not even charging ..
This has happened to me before. Call Google to begin an RMA and replace your phone if you're still under warranty

[Q] Touchscreen registering touches automatically !!

Hi
I have a nexus 7 2012 running on Android 4.4.3 . My issue is that touches are automatically getting registered without me pressing the display . It mainly happens in the back button area , so its very irritating . I tried soft reset , full factory reset , software update and touch calibration with an app available in xda . But it still reoccurs .
Can some one suggest any other methods ?

This could be a hardware problem. Phantom touches should NOT be happening out of the blue.
It happens to me too on my grouper Nexus 7 2012, mainly in the center-right of the screen. I activated the option to see the input and I can clearly see it.
I know the most obvious cause of this is hardware issue but the strange thing is that mine does it only after a certain time without a reboot. As soon as I reboot it stops for a while. So I guess it's not 100% hardware or caused by overheating. And if I just put it aside instead of rebboting it the minute I wake it from sleep the problem is still there, only a reboot can help. And it doesn't do it on the recovery.
The other thing I should mention is that I have issue with the headphones on the tablet and I have to "twist" lightly near the connector to make the sound play on both channels. This is a known hardware issue. I had the touchscreen problem before that so the "twisting" is not the cause of it (and again since a reboot makes the problem go away I guess that's not it)
I tried many roms with the same problem and it happens only since I have f2fs (must be a coincidence) and I am now on 4.4.4 saberdroid and I have the same issue.
Is there a possibility that it could be anything else beside hardware???.... I will try 100% stock soon but I wanted to find if anyone had ideas about this...
Thanks! (if it doesn't work I might have to buy a Shield tablet, poor me!)

In Call Proximity sensor Bug!!

Hey Guys,
I own an Indian Version, Moto G4 plus, 32GB variant.
Bug that i have been facing lately is that, while in call, the proximity sensor stops working, i.e. screen goes off while in call & i have to disconnect the call to get it back working. Also, restarting the phone enables it to behave normally, but this issue would re-occur any time again.
Thankfully, we have the feature to end call using power button, which i am using to overcome this.
I do have a tempered screen protector applied on the phone & i did check it is properly applied & doesn't interfere with the proximity sensor at all!!
Is anyone else also facing the same & can anyone of you help me to get this resolved ?
My guess is that it can only be resolved through a software update.
Also, my phone is stock, unrooted & bootloader is locked.
Thanks in advance.

moto g4 plus proximity sensor issue fixed
I have been a silent lurker on xda for too long.
time to give back to the community now.
Same problem with proximity sensor in my indian 3gb moto g plus.
I have found a solution, although it's not accurate.
First of all, boot into safe mode and try calling again,
if problem is there, your sensor is at fault, get it changed.
If calling works properly, then a 3rd party app is at fault.
remove all apps,
and begin installing them one by one.
I had alot of apps, hence can't pinpoint any specific app.
but if you follow this method, you can catch the app causing this problem.
My problem is fixed this way.
I am expecting a software update to address this issue soon.

Hi,
1. Same issue with my phone..Moto G4 Plus..bought it on 16th Aug.. and noticed this issue on 30th Aug.. so missed phone replacement date by 4 days..
Anyways..my problem is even worse.. screen goes black during call and unless other side person disconnects phone is unresponsive. . Once restarted problem gets resolved for time being.
2. Moreover I also observed one more related issuewhile playing World Cricket Championship... Just after playing it for 5mins..phone starts flickering and simply you can't play anymore.
I'm thinking to visit service centre now.

uninstalling which app solved the issue??
Im using MotoG4 plus (India). I can confirm that even after removing temper glass, problem persists. This is surely a software issue. Thinking of rooting and flashing a custom ROM now.

Ghost touch issue

It seems my phone has a problem of ghost touch. The status bar slides down automatically and randomly. I turned on developer mode to see what happened, it seems, some coordinates near (320, 0) are clicked very often with no reason at all. It annoys me a lot since it interrupts my normal operation. Did someone has the same problem? And how do you solve it? Thanks
I had the same issue. top right of my screen would think it was being touch when it wasnt.
Yes, my wife's ph-1 has this issue. the ghost touches liked a bunch of Instagram posts, it was hilarious seeing my wife's reaction to this, and then she had to go back and unlike a bunch of crap posts.
But this is an issue and very serious one. I believe this could be also causing battery drain if it interacts with OS and causes deep sleep not to kick in when it should. If the issue happens again I will be contacting support to get this BS sorted out.
I have this issue on the oreo beta although it will keep touching the same spot continuously for about a minute or so and if it happens while the phones locked i cant do anything till it stops luckily its been happening less and less often
I had this happen on one phone but not the others, worse when the phone got hot
i think it's the screen, if you look closely, its not flat. Mine is kinda wavey at the edges, like there's a little too much adhesive, and i think that waviness gets worse when the phone gets hot, and causes the phantom touch

It was gone for 3 days and now the problem is back today. I tried to restart in safe mode and problem is still there so it is a system issue, not caused by third party app.
Same issue here. No rhyme or reason I can see as to why
Mine was happening on my old PH-1 without the earpiece screen, but i got the new version i got has no issue.
This issue is very annoying I'm thinking of returning the device to Sprint and getting another but since it happens so random I wouldn't even be able to show them the issue. Thought it was an issue with the oreo beta but after going back to stock I still have the issue starting to regret buying this phone
I've never experienced this issue on mine
Bump. Been happening to me on Oreo beta. About once or twice a day it happens. I just lock and unlock the phone and it stops. It's weird. I think it has something to do with the screen sensitivity. It's more prone to happening when the device screen is all smudgy or if I just washed my hands.
I have the same issue too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbHtJLQEU7o
Me too
Same issue here as well. I did the touch sensitivity trick as well and still getting it. Hope its a software issue and not a hardware one.
I haven't encountered ghost touch but encountered slow responding touch issue. Sometimes the touchscreen will respond to my command slower like 3-4 secs after i touch the screen. Every time this issue appears, a restart of my phone will clear it. Very likely software issue. I'm still on nougat, hopefully they fix it on Oreo before it goes out of beta.
My first PH-1 would become touch unresponsive for 30+ seconds all the time (it was fully updated at the time). It seemed to happen more frequently when I was typing on the stock keyboard. I eventually returned it and bought another several weeks later. I've had no issues with the new one-quite happy with it. I'm running the Beta2 update and enjoying it.

That's good to know. Mine also happened when using the keyboard occasionally as well. I have a replacement set coming as my original set's packaging did not come with the pull tab on the box and there was a fingerprint smudge at the back of the phone when i took the phone out of the box the first time. I presumed mine was a used/returned set, not new as what i had ordered. Hope the new set fixes the issue.
My phone has the same issue whenever I'm charging it and using it at the same time it's registering multiple touches when I'm using just one finger on the screen, it mostly happen when I'm doing a long press action. In developers option I have show taps enable so I'm able to see all ghost touches.
I fixed my ghost touch issue with a simple hard reset.
It will come back sadly

Random Ghost touches

There was a time that I had an issue regarding ghost touches.
This happened (or it happens only) when i ride the bus and it is bumpy. Then suddenly while using it, i will register ghost touches and some random selection like i had controller it. And randomly tap on my screen. I have no extra phone that time and i was unable to record it but hopefully it makes sense.
These happened last january. I restored my phone in factory. Installed apps only on google play store hoping that the reason why it malfunctioned waa because i like to sideload apps and modify apps on my own. The next week i rode the bus it still persisted. Restarted my phone and boom. Its gone for a few months.
Fast forward to march i experienced it once more after 3 updates and i was hoping it will be gone since the latest software update clearly indicated that touch problem was already solved/addressed. I was riding the bus and it was bumpy and again... It registered ghost touches again..
I immediately went home and grabbed my other phone to document what happens but it cant replicate the error again. But since iam prepared. I rode the bus everyday to replicate it and document it. But it does t seem to be the case anymore.
I want to know if someone had the same experience where it registers ghost touches on bumpy roads. Iam documenting it in case someone reads it and had the same case as mine.
I did everything and i hope this is just a software problem.
What do you guys think? Is it software related or hardware related? Some poor optimization of the software with the sensors of the phone that thinks touches has been made if it is on that situation?
I had this problem but it was somewhat different. I would get random touches only when using the reddit app and while typing with swiftkey. The quick settings menu would keep dropping down from the top of the screen as if someone was constantly swiping down. It would get so bad that I had to lock and unlock my screen to fix it. It didn't matter if I was traveling or sitting still. This problem has gone away since the last asus software update.

Ah! Thank you for your inputs!
I was trying to replicate it if i could. But hopefully mine would get fixed too. Mine was on the latest update and hopefully it isnt a hardware problem.
Ghost touch i'm facing is 2 randomly tap on notification area while using the phone...
