TWRP bootloop after flash EU firmware on K30 Pro/Poco F2 Pro - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Guides, News, &

Hi all, I'm using Redmi K30 Pro 8/128Gb.
Recently i and some other guys facing issue TWRP boot loop after flash EU firmware, no matter it is EU stable or Dev.
I can ensure that i have followed exactly guideline in both case Install new/Update as in https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f2-pro/how-to/rom-xiaomi-eu-weekly-stable-miui-12-t4114423
But my phone always boot in to TWRP recovery after install(without any error in console)/Wipe Dalvik/Cache or Format.
At this time, there are some version of this device/which will support different Ram/Storage technology.
For example:
- Poco F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro with 6/128gb will have DDR4x/UFS3.0
- Poco F2 Pro/Redmi K30 Pro with 8/128 or 8/256gb will have DDR5/UFS3.1
I guess this may causing issue with some specific device. In my case, it's DDR5/UFS3.1
So i want to make a pool/report that in case you have faced this issue.
I want to know that which version you are using?

I am using 12g/128g,but this version is available in China. I want to try miuieu but I am also afraid that I may face the same problem as you

You can try because maybe you will not get problem like others. The TWRP is unstable for some specific device i think.
At this time, i have to miflash my phone to MIUI 12 China stable. Since there is no MIUI 12 for EEA or global released.
But in MIUI 12 China, i can't change font. Further that some app like Gmail, Facebook, Messenger,... receive notification slowly than normal

I don't like miui12 China, because it has a lot of advertisements, what's more it needs more RAM, 6gRAM isn't enough for miui12 china if you install a lot of softwares. I come from China, so the k30pro I bought was installed miui12 China. I often install aosp or lineage os after I bought it. However, aosp and lineage os aren't available, only gsi is available, but gsi has many problems, so I can only choose miuieu now

Just download the tgz firmware then flash it via miflash mode clear all.

I've read here:
https://unofficialtwrp.com/twrp-3-4-1-xiaomi-poco-f2-pro/
Download Files:
1. Magisk 20.03
2. vbmeta.img
3. twrp 3.4.1b Poco F2 Pro
4. Platform tools/adb Fastboot tools
Note: Flash vbmeta to fix any bootloop issue..
May be a solution. I haven't tested it so be careful.

Mind if I ask prior to flashing vbmeta.img, have you ever successfully boot into any xiaomi eu ROM on this phone? If no, did you mount anything in twrp and did you format your data?

same question! What was your step by step process?
-flashing twrp & vbmeta
-mount anything extra or not
-wipe or not?
-format data or not?
-install via USB or from a copy to storage?
-wipe dalvik/ cache afterwards?
then reboot to system after that then format or format before reboot?
-formating afterwards? (via 'format data in twrp' or 'fastboot -w' command in adb?)
- or no format at all?
Did you do anything with magisk or no_verity_opt_encrypt.zip?
They are writing you should flash that stuff. But I dont want any root I just want EU rom without Bootloop..

I was helped by the installation according to https://www.cyanogenmods.org/twrp-poco-f2-pro/ and platform-tools https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools. Then install https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682889649 and finally ROM.

Mi Max 3 MIUI ROMs without firmware
We all know that Xiaomi added Anti roll-back to latest Stable/Beta ROMs (8.8.17 China Beta | 9.6.12.0 China stable) for (Mi Max 3). Which means if you flashed an older fw/rom with a different (lower) anti version of your current one your device will be bricked!
Here I'll provide MIUI ROMs fully stock but without "firmware-update", to prevent any potential bricking while switching between Miui Based ROMs
This process is automated and provided as a part of Xiaomi Firmware Updater Project.

After flashing any of the builds above you can't go and flash FULL Miui ROMs to downgrade, just stick to my modded versions if you want to use older MIUI builds
No matter which Anti you have, you can flash any of those ROMs with TWRP
These ROMs doesn't affect your phone bootloader in any way, so you can roll back to your old ROM after Flashing any of the above builds
One more time, those ROMs won't remove or change your anti.

Hello I wanna ask,
Now that V9.6.6.0.OEDMIFD Global was released, I checked and it doesnt have anti-rollback (anti-1)
The problem is that some people are on anti rollback enabled (anti 4) roms and they want to get the global rom.
Is it possible for you to remove the firmware files from 9.6.6.0 and then make a version that allows anti-rollback people to downgrade / change their china rom to it?
Thanks and have a great day!

I agree, they all have too many issues. It's been 7 months now and we don't have any custom ROM's despite this being one of the most popular Xiaomi phones (according to their offical forums and rom download stats), so why the hell is nooone developing for it? At this rate the Mi Max 4 will be out before the we even have a single native custom ROM.
I to was pissed off because there are no custom romI order another phone, not xiaomi and when i receive it will sell my mi max 3.I am not sure that will try xiaomi phones again..
I'm currently using Miui PRO - latest version and it is Android 9 - working flawlessly, no errors found so far and battery is pretty amazing Go on and try it guys, it's the best thing and it is regularly updated. GSI roms?

Hello everyone, has someone already tried to flash a GSI ROM on the k20/mi9t?
Yes, I'm running PHH's AOSP 9.0.
Two big issues:
• Popup camera pops at every reboot
- It only popup and retract with commands
- Doesn' work when you use any camera app
• You have to wake up the screen to use the fingerprint
Popup camera is almost fixed, someone with a Redmi K20 Pro is working on it and Phhusson is cleaning the code.

Yes, unless it's something specific for the Snapdragon 855, most of modifications should work in both devices.
I just tried flashing havoc OS GSI and it results in a boot loop at the Mi Logo

A GSI rom Is a Generic System Image, in other words Is Simply an "Universal rom", you can literally flash It on every device compatible with project treble.
Standard Roms on the other side (like LOS) are made specifically for a single device
I dont know why peoples wants to install GSI ROM, ? half things doesnt work, better to wait for real ROMs for this device, if it will be once.

Speak for yourself, on my current device, that didn't even had treble at first (ZTE Axon 7) I'm running the same GSI image for 2 months now without a single issue!

But axon 7 is not xiaomi, and dont have miui. dont know what firmware your axon come with. But if you use mi9t/k20 to use gsi for now i dont see reason. if on your k20 is chines firmware, unlock bootloader and flash global, or XEU rom. and if your mi9t is with global, unlock bootloader install chines or xeu, or any other miui rom. and wait for other normal custom roms, this gsi have non senses for this kind of phones. there is sense for gsi for devices as huawei as you cant unlock bootloader, so no aosp custom roms, just treble or gsi.

We flash GSI because the really stable custom ROMS will come out at least 2-3 months from now, so unless you can tolerate the MIUI it is the only way to flash and use a quite stable custom ROM since patches for GSIs will arrive very soon for our device

Havoc OS has the same issues AOSP has.
Now I'm trying LineageOS 16 and camera is partially fixed.
• It works with GCam and default camera
• Still pops up every reboot

Now some words from me,
Hi I am Omer, I own a Mi Max 3 and Huawei Mate 20 X.
today I ordered a Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition and therefore I am going to be a part of this community.
I am going to update this thread with any upcoming update, just like I did for Mi Max 3 thread.
I am also going to buy a Black Shark 3 Pro for daily use but that phone cant be unlocked.
I hope you enjoy your phones!
if you have any questions feel free to ask!
by the way:
In order to improve the communication performance and stability of the mobile phone, will be upgraded the Qualcomm baseline - Redmi K30 Pro will be suspended from May 25. It is expected to be suspended for about three weeks. This upgrade does not affect the stable version.
Great job!!!
Thanks for doing this like it should be done. I tried but my tutorial is **** compared to this. Cheers ?
Okay, my Bootloader is unlocked and i did the install the current (may 24th) beta version of the xiaomi.eu ROM.
The installation was a bit rough around the edges: The currently available TWRP comes from a chinese developer and starts with chinese language. You can't read a thing.
Fortunately, i have used twrp so often already that i remembered how to change the language without having to read the buttons.
Having installed TWRP via fastboot, i booted into it, changed language and formatted the data partition under "Wipe". Then i connected my pc, transferred the ROM file to the phone and installed it.
I was a bit disappointed that my dear F2 changed it's personality immediately: it identified as Redmi K30 Pro from the first boot on. I know this "problem" from my Mi 9T Pro where the xiaomi.eu ROM changes its name to Redmi K20 Pro, but there was a patch in xiaomi.eu's K20 Pro forum that reversed this effect when flashed via TWRP. This kind of patch does not exist for the Poco F2 as of now, so i guess i'll have to live with it.
Other than that, all seem to run well. First boot took a couple of minutes, but Installation went smoothly and phone is restoring my configuration and installing all my apps right now.
Magisk 20.4 is installed and working. Let's hope that new beta versions will appear next week.

Im pretty sure this is because they are based on the china rom which is available for the redmi k30 pro/zoom
If xiaomi can differentiate between zoom and regular editions on kernel level (they share same kernel and same rom), Im sure that xiaomi.eu forums will be able to create a patch for poco if needed.

Hello mate, i was trying to install it to my f2pro and it all ended in bootloop, it is mandatory to wipe the data partition before installing the rom? Is there any tutorial? I tried to install it twice ending in bootloop and having to install the official rom with the xiaomi rom tool.
Thanks!

Hello there,
In the installation instructions it says what to wipe and what you shouldn't wipe. I think you need to go back to stock and try again.
Cheers ?
Wow thanks for this! Need to wait for a week for Xiaomi to unlock my device (such a bummer as Oneplus don't have this waiting game). Any how, I hope (like it's brother K20 Pro/Premium), there will be AOSP, Lineage and PA flavored roms that will support our beloved Redmi K30 Pro/Zoom/Poco F2 Pro.
Thanks for your efforts on making this thread!
Great to see the development for his device has started .
Does the MIUI Dialer also have the build-in call recorder?

In my experience (also from my Mi 9T Pro before), you not only need to wipe the data partition, you even need to format it (can be found under "Wipe" in TWRP) when coming from stock rom to xiaomi.eu for the first time.
Once on xiaomi.eu ROM, you can install newer versions by dirty flashing: no need to wipe your data partition, your apps, data and settings survive.

Thanks for confirming. I can finally unlock my bootloader today (had a waiting period of 360 hours..), guess I'll flash this rom directly after that since my device will be wiped with unlocking now anyway.
Did you use the TWRP from this tread?

I'm not sure from which source i downloaded it, since it was some days before my bootloader unlock time ran out, but the file is named "recovery-TWRP-3.4.1B-0328-REDMI_K30PRO-CN-wzsx150.img"
At the moment, this seems to be only working TWRP for the Poco F2. Since it comes from a chinese developer, you have to change the language to English first, unless your fluent reading chinese.
To do that, you have to pull the slider on the bottom of the start screen to the right, then use the third button from the top in the second column of buttons (which is the "Settings" button) and then use the small globe symbol in the upper right of the screen.
Hi all, i want to report one bug:
Whenever enter to a game with full screen mode and play it for a while, the full screen gesture can not be use any more. So i have to press power button to lock my phone(game is running) then unlock the phone to come to the game. Here i can use the gesture as normal.
Yep

Yes. It has the call recorder ?
I just succesfully unlocked, rooted and installed the MIUI 11 Stable. Restoring now, so far so good.
And the call recorder is working perfectly indeed (Y)

i read on the xiaomi eu forum that on one of the weekly roms, the mic was not working on calls https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/no-voice-during-the-call.56159/ . Can you check if the mic works if you call somebody? I am just waiting for my unlock timer to end and want to install xiaomi eu.
As im writing this, the new xiaomi eu stable miui 12 came out, just for your information. The problem with the mic was on miui 12 so i hope they included a fix for the stable version before rolling it out.
Unfortunately, the stable MIUI 12 is not yet for us. Just for MI10, MI10Pro, HMK20MI9T, HMK305G.
No beta
No beta for this week either, links for the 20.6.16 were published and there is nothing for the K30 Pro neither the Mi10 nor Mi 10 Pro
