Gyroscope not properly calibrated

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could reproduce my problem as I'm pretty sure is a software issue and not a hardware one, I've find some other people in the same situation and I've notified Huawei but I'm still waiting for their response.
The gyroscope is not working properly, not in any VR app in the play store or in google camera when I try to make a photo sphere.
Just open any app that uses the gyroscope and see if it is working at all.
Hope your answer. Thanks in advance.

i'm having this problem since I UPDATED my phone but before the upgrade i could play any 360 video and i could use my VR Headset with my P8 Lite (L21) but after the update (B133) my gyroscope stopped working :/ i hope they fix it because now i can't watch any 360 video :/
There are many video on youtube showing how to calibrate gyroscope. While holding the phone in a certain manner, you must describe with your forearm a 3D 8 in the space slowly. After half a dozen of turns, your gyroscope is calibrate with gravity force.
Cheers
it didn't work
Same problem here, after upgrading the software for ALE-L21C75B0146
Before I was able to watch 360 videos on Youtube by moving the phone.
Now I can't. I have to touch screen.
I am pondering downgrading to V100R001C75B045.

I already tried those apps to calibrate de gyroscope but it isn't working.
Huawei email me back with the usual factory reset crap. That's their brilliant solution.
No gyroscope on p8lite
Or either Huawei P8 lite does not have Gyroscope or they turned it off. I bought mine with the lollipop and does not seem to have gyroscope. Also Huawei p8 lite specification does not list Gyroscope as available sensors which it does in P8's
Around firmware B13X they shut off the the Gyro, though for me it returned with B170 albeit still a bit touchy
i know it does not have a gyro but ahh ... when i had the B130 update i could watch 360 video but with the B133 and B171 update ... i can't :/ my VR headset is useless because of this :/ and this is annoying :/
I bought my p8 lite six days ago and I also have this problem. I tried to make 3D shots with google maps, but it says I don't have gyroscope. This is really annoying. ?
Is there any solution for this problem already????
P8 lite doesn't have a real gyroscope
OK. Maybe it doesn't have a hardware gyroscope and it was solved by a virtual gyro / sensor fusion.
Will it come back with android 6.0?
Is anyone here who know this hardware in depth to check the real built-in sensors? Maybe it's just disabled to make P8 lite weaker in opposite of P8.
Or someone who can make a virtual gyro for it? There's detailed descriptions on the net how to calculate gyro data from accelerometer and magnetic sensor. (But it's a bit tough for me)
For example:
github.com/memsindustrygroup/Open-Source-Sensor-Fusion/wiki/Virtual%20Gyro
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Huawei-P8-lite,Huawei-P8/phones/9358,9127
Under other feuatures you will se that P8 Lite doesnt have gyroscope at all
Hey guys,
Good news. Even though the gyro is not present in P8 Lite, it can be virtualized using the Magnetic Sensor and the Accelerometer. (Senses movement + Direction = A function of a Gyro).
Guys on the HTC Mania managed to figure it out and fix it! So you can watch 360 youtube videos, etc.

(You will need to translate the page though)
Happy days!
great news man, thx for sharing
If you don't want to translate, or just to lazy to check out the site, i'll post the steps here:
You can only do the steps below, if you have a rooted phone, and downloaded THIS file.
Steps:
Download the file, I've linked up above.
Open up a file explorer with root permissions (I recommend Root Explorer)
Copy the downloaded file to this location: /system/etc/permissions
If done, set the permissions to rw-r--r-- (0644)
Click OK, and restart your phone
You're done. However, based on feedbacks on this, and the HTCMania forum, this will only work on Android 6.0.
I'm currently on 5.0.1, and after doing this, the Cardboard icon appeared in Youtube while playing a °360 video, but it wasn't working well. Rotating the phone with large motions made only a very small, and slow reaction on the phone's image itself.
So if somebody tried this with 6.0 please report back with the results, if it's working well, partially or not at all.
Edit:
In the meantime, a factory reset was on schedule, because my phone got very slow, and I updated to 6.0, and enabled the "VR support".
I can say, that it is working, the phone does respond to movement, somewhat like it should with the gyroscope. I think it's a bit delayed, and not as much accurate as the gyroscope would be, but yes, it definitely works, for sure.
The tutorial in original language can be found HERE.
Its working perfect
I have ALE-L21. Currently on version ALE-L21C432B524 Android 6.0.
Just did what advised by @daviddosa in previous post. And now I can watch 360 movies on Youtube and can play VR Games on my mobile.
Thanks for this wonderful trick.
Best Regards!

Hhi daviddosa
Can you explain what you mean by 'enable vr support' ?

How can I collaborate my gyroscope?

I have this problem that in vr it drifts to the left, this only happens in cardboard mode but when using the actual Samsung headset it's perfectly fine. I use a app that let's me use my gear for both options. I've looked all over and used apps to collaborate the gyroscope but nothing has worked so far, I have jasmine rom 7.0 and I don't think the Samsung debug menu works on this rom where I could collaborate it manually. I was wondering if there was another way.

S8 -> Android Auto -> Spotify

Hello All,
My first post but I've been lurking the forums for some time. Always finding answers to my questions. Thank you all for that!
With the S8 being so new I'm not sure if anyone else has had these issues, and only found one subject that was close but not my issue. On to the goodness and question I have.... I have a 2016 Chevy Camaro and use the Android Auto on my S8 (used to be S7 Edge) to listen to Spotify mostly. With the update to the S8 it isn't allowing me to access Spotify under double tapping the music icon. Anyone else Having this issue?
So far I've tried removing all the apps, and starting with a fresh install of both.
I've tried multiple data cables connected to the car/phone.
I have also noticed that when Android Auto is turned on it doesn't allow you home button out of it. I used to be able to use the home button after hitting my minimize app button to get to my home screen. Allowing me to access other applications, or texting. I know shame on me texting in the car but not using the car to do it.
Let me know if there are any suggestions or fixes for these issues. I would expect that since the phone is so new there will be updates to fix it but I'm honestly thinking of going back to my S7E. However I was excited to have the S8. It's a pretty solid phone!
Having a similar issue with my Audi Q7. I had a Galaxy S6 and used Spotify under Android Auto. Now when I click on the little headphone icon I get play music instead. I can play Spotify using bluetooth audio but no longer get any track information or control over the app from the car controls.

OK, just as an update in case it helps @EnCincy or anyone with the same problem I got Spotify working again. Fully uninstalled both Spotify and Android Auto on the phone then reinstalled them again. I did Spotify first but not sure if it matters. When I went back to the car I had a choice of either Spotify or Play Music.
Thanks cheesy. After a few deletes of the app and reinstall it works. Sometimes it tells me Spotify isn't working and has a spinning icon. I have to restart the phone and car to remedy. This has been happening since android 7 came out to update on my devices. S7Edge before and now the S8
Ahh you can count on the forums to inform you of an issue you thought you were dealing with alone, I've also got the issue intermittently but a restart tends to help. I wasn't sure if maybe a disabled package is to blame when using Package Disabler
Same here - an unistall and reinstall worked.
Spotify works fine for me with my Hyundai head unit. If you use Smart Switch to move your apps over you have to uninstall and reinstall any apps Android Auto works with. Make sure AA is installed first before any apps that it allows access to.
Didn't work for me, none of my music apps are working on Android Auto, this worked on my LG V10, but doesnt work on the GS8+
Had the same problem with Audible and Pocketcast, uninstalled and reinstalled both and they showed up
This fixed my Pandora issue as well. Thanks guys!
I haven't run any of the updates yet on the S8 , no problems with android auto or any of the music apps.
Since its happening across various devices I'm wondering if it was the update the was pushed out a few days ago.

I'm testing this now to see it if helps getting other music apps to work again in AA.
Also the 2nd part of the OP question was how to get out of AA on your like like you could on other galaxy variants? I'm looking for an answer to that as well.
Uninstall/reinstall worked for me. Then was having the spotify unable to start issue from time to time... restarting the phone would fix it each time but that was annoying. Turned off the music controller under the lock screen facewidgets settings and haven't had the problem since! It's only been a couple days but....

I still haven't figured out the way to get out of AA while the cord is hooked up to the car. Please share if you do. I also join an AA forum and posted. No responses yet!

Thanks. I will try the music controller being turned off.
Just to quickly help anyone with the unable to minimise thing, download a bixby button remapper and remap it to the multitask feature and you'll have the same functionality like on the phones with hardware buttons

This worked on my S8 too. Used Samsung Smart Switch (hopeless) to get everything across from S6 and Android Auto would not 'see' Pandora, Spotify or TuneIn. Uninstalled all music apps and Android Auto and then installed, selecting AA last. Works now.

Posted this in AA section, some here may find useful.
Do not use this as a way to use your phone while driving. I put this here so a passenger can safely control a phone.
On the S8/S8+ enable your edge bar and install Soft Key egde. A few other settings in The main android settings > advanced features > Multi window > both options enabled.
Generally the apps should be running before you start android auto and connect to car, from there you can use edge bar soft keys to access recent programs. Split screen or pop up multi windows can be opened and used while android auto continues to run on head unit.
I'd post SS but now allowed yet
What head units are you guys using? I have a Kenwood DDX-9703S and have had no issues with android auto.

How can i force VR (Side-By-Side) Mode on ANY Android Smartphone (Systemwide like K6)

Hello,
i have bought a Lenovo K6 and it has and integrated support for VR, splitting screen system-wide in two as shown in this picture. I find that extremly convenient, because i can surf the web outside with one of those VR-Glasses.
As far as i know it's only supported on a few Lenovo K... devices, but as i may need to buy a need phone i'd like to know how to upgrade another phone that hasn't got this option so that it is also able to do that. There's of course no gyroscope necessary as there is no 3D maneuvering going on, just seeing the screen in full-size through those glasses via SBS (Side-By-Side) View.
So what i need is simply a Splitscreen, does anyone know an option to do that? Would be very appreciated
I saw this on a K6, too. I would like to do this on my Redmi Note 8 Pro, too. Did you find a solution yet?
I noticed that on my Lenovo note K5 too... But now that I have a VR headset I no longer have that phone working. R8 now I am using realme 5 pro .. and looking for any apps/ magisk module that could give me that VR split screen function ....
I've been searching this for a long time still haven't got any solution. I am using Samsung J6+. If got any module or any app, please post it here. I don't know why it is too hard to just duplicate the screen to two. Why isn't there any magisk modules yet.

Gear VR on Custom roms

so for a wile now I've been trying to get gear vr to work with with custom roms, mainly the light weight roms that have removed all Samsung stuff, I've gotten as far as getting most of the needed files installed and being able to launch a vr game, but one thing, once you do launch a game or anything vr and put the headset on you cant mover around on it, when you go to move your head it stays still, and I'm thinking its a driver issue or something not sure , any help to get it working will be awesome, and I'm just wondering why getting gear vr to work on rom is such a grey spot still?
Did you ever figure out how to load the Gear VR on lightweight ROMS? Trying on Project Alice. Not sure what to do. Thanks bud
