its loud enough for you-tube usage ... ringtone is loud and usually is satisfactory under the 9/10 slider ... there is some crackling noise coming from the speaker sometimes when alarm plays a FLAC Hi-Fi Files but its fixable with using normal FLAC files

Like any motorola phone. At high volumes, it's perfectly acceptable. At lower volumes, or with brief sounds like UI noises? It intermittently gets very quiet or completely cuts out for a while. If you never have UI sounds on, maybe that's fine, but it is confusing and obnoxious. Although this phone doesn't seem to have it as bad as the Moto Z4.

Motorola really went all out on the speaker for this phone and it is quite loud and very impressive. Props to them for improving on what the Moto g5+ lacked. Also, compared to my friends OnePlus6 the speaker on this phone blew his away.
Coming from a 5X i was astonished by the speaker. VERY loud, clarity is ok.
It helps to have only a single front facing speaker. With the volume up full, it's hard to miss phone call ringtones, and text/private message prompts.
Also, it's a decent speaker for games, movies and music, especially with the Dolby Audio engaged. I almost wish Motorola opted for a stereo setup, and moved the fingerprint reader to the flip side. But headphones sound great here anyhow, whether corded or with Bluetooth.

About its Speaker Volume, honestly i would vote 3.5/5 . Its speaker volume is not loud enough for outdoors usages.
However i believe the clarity out of what you can hear is good after all.
Its Earphone/Headphone Sound is good, along side Huawei Histen Sound Effects makes it even better. i would rate around 4.5/5 here for headphone sound.

While the speaker on the Honor Play is decent, it's not as loud as i'd like it to be. But the quality is really nice and there's no distortion.

Crazy high volume! Not so crisp when it's maxed out, but it's very loud!
It's so damn loud, that I don't even need my JBL Go bluetooth loudspeaker anymore. It's sound quality is quite good, not the best but a lot better than most other phones. R.I.P. if you play Clash Royale on the toilet and forgot to turn sound off, everyone in the will now

I think it's nice and loud, no distortions on max volume. However, it lacks some bass and highs, that's all I can say about it.
EDIT: Wait, I just realized that this thread is about the speakerphone, not loudspeaker. So.. about that, the speakerphone is clear and loud.
Loudness is very good. I use it as a "stationary mobile" in home to reach kids when outside, and they can hear it ringing from most corners of house. Louder than many flagships I've had (looking at you Sony).

Loudness is okay (I guess average nowadays), but the speakers sound thin. The top "speaker" (read: amplified earpiece) only plays rather high frequencies, but is decently loud for what it is. Don't forget, there is not much room behind it.
The bottom facing speaker does not well with lower frequencies. Don't even expect good lower mids. Base is nonexistent. All in all I'd give this setup 3/5.
It is true that the mobile does not sound very good listening to music or in calls, but the sound is not bad when a general equalization is made, in my case I use the playstore application Wavelet, and I adjust the best sound for everything.
