I'm finding the colour saturation pretty extreme - the reds, greens and turquoise blues very sharp for my tastes. I've tried dialling them back in settings, but still it's going to take some getting used to

Think I had reading mode on - with it turned off the colours are a lot more natural. Still turquoise is a bit sharp, but loads easier on the eyes than previously!

When i open whatsapp in dark mode the color of the color of the chat is black but when i go to the sunlight the whatsapp chat color become blueish i dont know why??
Settings i changed adaptive brightness, automatically color contrast and also the color scheme. If anyone tell me its a hardware issue or just a normal for everyone!

Color seems to be good but would love to see it pushed just a bit further to get really bright reds greens n blues its not over saturated nor is it under. As far as accuracy goes i have no idea . There is some color shifting not too bad but there is some nasty banding mostly notice in low light n in white backgrounds . I kinda wish there were an option to saturate colors just a bit more
Well, it's an OLED screen with all the disadvantages that comes with it (and advantages). Colors are a bit too saturated , but not as bad as on Samsung phones. LCDs we're always more accurate. Google actually made the right move but people are used to see radioactive colors already so that didn't go well. Overall I love the screen of the V30. Just red seems too bright for me (true on all OLED screens I've tried).

The display is good, but very blueish.
I deeply hope the next update fixes this or will provide color calibration.
I think the screen color looks pretty balanced, I'm using the Natural saturation setting btw. Compared to the screen on my G5+ which is rooted & using KCAL adjusted more to the blue side, my G7+ screen looks much less blue and almost reddish. It looks fairly sharp on the desktop and in apps, and the color in videos appears pretty realistic to my eye.
The G5+ had very poor color depth in stock but interestingly not in most ROMs, which needed correction with KCAL that made a huge difference. But testing the stock G7+ screen with Display Tester app's Banding/Contrast/Saturation feature it looks very good as is and would only need KCAL for adjusting color balance if desired. G5+ needed KCAL but G7+ doesn't in the same way.

There is a distinct yellow tint on my display. I tried moving the slider all the way to edge of cool & night shield off but it still is yellowish. Anyone else has this?

I don't think I have this issue. Also I can't recreate this issue
Try side by side with another devices, I also noticed my screen kinda yellowish.

Color accuracy is ok when looking straight on the screen, but there's a massive greenish/yellowish color shift when looking at an angle.
I feel that the screen fares favorably compared to my now-retired LG V30+.
But cutting edge, this is not. Only 1080p despite the large screen size. Standard 60 Hz refresh rate.
It's an OLED, so that's always nice. But they didn't really invest much on the display. It's serviceable.
I find that the viewing angles are fine and haven't noticed any dramatic color shifts depending on the viewing angle.
I had no real complaints about the V30+. I have no real complaints about this one. But I knew what I was getting when I bought the phone.
On the bright side, FANTASTIC battery life!
Definately not accurate!
The whites have a slight red tinge no matter what setting you use (expert included)
But the screen is pleasant to look at.
Lots of off access color shift too.
I am very surprised at the uniformity between the main screen and the dual screen, well done!

Honestly, I'm quite impressed. The redmi 9 changes contrast, temperature and saturation based on the environment, making the image always look the same no matter the place you are in. Example: On a sunny day, the blacker elements of the screen are harder to see when the sun shines directly on the screen, so the firmware compensates by lowering the contrast, so the elements that are black are now more grey. Of course, this feature can be turned off in settings.
