Failed Root A2017G - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Can someone help me. I tried the boot loader unlock with "Axon7 EDL Tool"
1) I flashed the recovery (TWRP).
2. then I started the boot loader unlock.
Now start it in the following menu. I can't get out of there.
hope someone can help me.
Have an Axon 7, German Edition (A2017G) Android 8.0.0
It show me:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
START
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
FASTBOOT MODE (in red font)
PRODUCT _NAME - AILSA_II
VARIANT - MTP eMMC
BOOTLOADER VERSION -
SERIAL NUMBER - fc0b748d
SECURE BOOT - enabled
DEVICE STATE - locked (in red font)
I can choose with the volume buttons
"START" --> it reboot in the self menu
"Restart bootloader" --> it reboot in the self menu
"Recovery mode" --> it boot into black screen. (Only way out is disconnect the battery and restart. But this is the only where axon EDL tool detect the phone.)
"Power off" --> it Shutdown
My goal is to use a custom rom.
for those who manage to solve the problem with me, I transfer 10Euro via Paypal. I hope someone can help me

its the wrong way
1. you cant flash a working twrp with locked bootloader
2. you need to downgrade to marshmallow to unlock bootloader via fastboot

Can't re-root my phone after upgrading to Android 7 (EMUI 5.0)

Hey all.
-Yesterday my phone updated from stock Android 6.1 (EMUI4.x I think) to stock Android 7 (EMUI5.0).
-Before the update, I had unrooted my phone, so I had an unlocked bootloader, and I also had installed TWRP Recovery.
-After the update, I realized that my device had become again unrooted and that the TWRP Recovery was gone.
Now, ofcourse my device has still an unlocked bootloader right? When I am in fastboot mode my device says "UNLOCKED" so I guess I have an unlocked bootloader.
I follow the steps to install TWRP Recovery:
1) I connect my phone (USB debugging ON etc) ("adb devices" -> is showing my device fine)
2) "adb reboot-bootloader"
3) "fastboot devices" (is showing my device fine)
4) "fastboot flash recovery twrp...img"
5) It says installation is ok
6) "fastboot reboot recovery"
7) Phone restarts and tries to boot into recovery but it's kept stuck there forever and says "Your phone is booting now...." So I just press Power off for a few seconds to escape and the phone boots normally to normal mode.
It seems that I can't install properly the recovery after the update.
Why is that?
Notes:
-When I turn on my phone (normally with the Power on button), a screen appears that offers me 3 options, one of them says "Press VolumeUp Key for a few seconds to boot into recovery", if I do that then my phone boots into stock recovery of EMUI.
-When my phone is off, and I press Power On + Volume Up then my phone tries to get immediately to recovery but it keeps stuck there forever ("Your device is booting now...") and I can escape only by pressing Power off for a few seconds (just like in step 7 above)
Thanks in advance.
The Bootloader is sometimes bugged after upgrade.
Try booting normally and go in and activate Developer Menu (if it's not active).
Find the OEM option in the menu and disable it.
Reboot.
Go in and enable it again.
Now try and install the recovery.
NOTE: I had to use the recovery called "twrp-3.1.0-2-hi6250.img".
Sidenote: I used SRKToolHuawei 2.0 to do the stuff. The guide below is for Windows pc's:
REMEMBER to get the correct recovery for Nougat if you try this (see above).
Rename it to "twrpp9litemm.img" and zip it.
Rename the zip file to "p9lite.zip".
Put it into the subfolder "..\recovery\p9lite", overwriting the original zip file.
Thanks for the reply.
The OEM option is already ON, but it won't allow me to move the switch in order to turn it off. What should I do?

But I don't understand how it is possible for a bootloader to be locked after some software update? I mean the bootloader is at the bottom level of the phone (lower level than software).

i dont know the process exactly but it does relock the bootloader after update. unfortunately it shows bootloader unlocked aldough it is locked. just unlock again with unlock code (attention phone will be reset afterwards, do backups) and flash twrp for root.

Can't get into bootloader?

Hey guys, I've been trying to unlock my bootloader so that I can try and root my Maven 3 via Magisk. The problem is, I can't get into the bootloader. If I try to reboot to the bootloader from recovery mode, it just restarts like normal. Same thing when I try using adb commands in the cmd prompt. I am on Windows 7.
I think it could be unlocked trought EDL mode. But we need some expert help
I unlocked my phone with at&t but I think it only unlocked the SIM.
I enabled usb debugging and oem unlock, but when I issue the command (in ubuntu term)
adb reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
is just boots into the android system.
Any clue on what to do?
I have the same question - bootloader mode will not load when I issue "adb reboot bootloader", nor will it go into bootloader when I go into recovery mode (via POWER + VOLUME UP) and then I choose the "Bootloader" option. The phone just boots into the system. When I use "adb reboot recovery" it does go into recovery mode, and I am able to get a shell and copy files via adb just fine. I am using the latest platform-tools.
This is a ZTE Z835 (Maven 3), AT&T, carrier unlocked phone.
I don't think there is a bootloader... I have not found any fastboot-compatible mode on this device nor have I heard anyone else find one. You have FTM mode (Power + Volume Down) and EDL mode (adb reboot edl). EDL mode lets it work with QFIL, and with QFIL, you can literally dump and modify any partition on the device you want... I'm not sure what else you want. There's a new method for unlocking the bootloader https://www.xda-developers.com/unlock-bootloader-zte-phones/. I found that my devinfo partition was already unlocked, but you may need to check. I'm going to try and figure out how to create a recovery.bin partition able to be flashed in QFIL.

Bootloop at reboot when i try to root on android pie

Hi, i'm trying to root my Xiaomi Mi A1 after updating it by OTA and I always get a bootloop on the android one screen.
I explain a little what I did, I had xposed and root on 8.1 with magisk, uninstalled them correctly, and then update to android 9.
Now, with the version 10.0.5.0.PDHMIXM of february, I tried to patch the boot.img from Magisk and then load it both from fastboot, as well as load trough the recovery of twrp, but the same result always happens, when reboot it stays in bootloop and I have I put back the stock boot.img unouching.
Also, in the status of the safety net looked at magisk I get ctsProfile: false, I do not know if it will have something to do
Can someone please help me root the phone?
Need some help, please
Hello.
Let's go.
If it's bootlooped do the next:
1. Download official latest ROM from this Mi site https://en.miui.com/download-333.html by clicking on green tab. After downloading finished, must twice extraxt it till have some yellow folder.
Download and install MFT from this link http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
2. Press&Hold Vol- button till phone goes to bootloader FASTBOOT mode
3. In opened "cmd/adb" on Your PC type "fastboot devices" to verify your phone
4. Check for bootloader is unlocked with "fastboot oem unlock". If it's unlocked You'll get a message "Your b/l is allredy unlocked", if not, Your phone will reboot and must quickly press&hold Vol- button to boot again in to FASTBOOT mode
5. When phone is connected in f/b mode type "fastboot oem edl" and wait Your phone reboot to EDL mode (black screen on display wit LED rapidly blinking)
6. Start Mi Flash Tool and do Refresh button to connect with the phone, click "select" button to navigate to the ROM folder from point 1. and check "save user data" on the bottom right (or check "clean all", as You wish)
7. After all, click "flash" button and be patient for a couple of a minutes when phone flashing. After a good yob you'll get a green colored message "success" to the right side of a MFT window.
8. That's it. Long press Power button on phone and wait till vibrate. Release it and boot to system. Let it update to February update and then do the steps from post "[GUIDE] Rooting Mi A1 without TWRP"
Enjoy!
P.S. Your BootLoader remains unlocked with options selected from point 6. but apps and system will be wiped out! Selecting on own risk!

Forgot to enable OEM unlock and flashed TWRP - BRICKED?

Hello,
I successfully unlocked my BL.
Then I forgot to enable OEM unlock and USB debugging under developer settings (because I had done it already and wasn't aware that unlocking the BL would reset that too).
I flashed TWRP with successful exit.
But I cannot boot into TWRP via FASTBOOT, it goes straight to normal boot screen.
After that it wants me, to enter a password, which I don't know and never have set.
I cannot get into TWRP via hardware buttons because I end up in stock recovery.
Help please
Install Rom via Fastboot

Hello Friend!
The solution is install the rom official for the fastboot.
1.-First download the rom to device in:
url
c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
2.- Your device in mode fasboot in your PC (Windows) with drivers.
3.- Download the MiFlash ( download.appmifile.com/images/2019/07/01/09cdc3a7-5a11-42aa-81f4-be27fe12ce80.msi ) and install.
4.- Ejecute "MiFlash" in your pc, and select your device, the rom....
IMPORTANT!!!
ENABLE "CLEAN ALL" IN END TO PROGRAM NOT "CLEAN ALL AND LOCK" OR YOUR BOOTLOADER LOCKED AGAIN

Possible to get on Stock OOS11 with Root?

I just bought a carrier unlocked T-Mobile 7t pro McLaren 5g on ebay and I've spent several hours reading up on the unlocking and rooting processes for this phone.
I can't seem to figure out if it's possible to get it up and running on the stock OOS11 rom with root (and hopefully TWRP), and if so, what the entire process will be.
I've had my OnePlus 6 for several years now and have had it unlocked/rooted since I got it, so I'm fairly familiar with these sorts of things, just not on this phone specifically. Thanks
This is exactly what happened to me. I just bought unlocked T-Mobile 7t pro McLaren 5g. Coming from 6T McLaren (had 1,2,3,5 and as mentioned 6T McL). I had them all rooted and all other phones that I used before these. But reading around here I feel like I never rooted phone in my life. So much confusing information and also outdated. Not one proper post step by step how to do it. Unlocking tokens? OTA not working etc. Honestly I don't know where to start. lol
Yes, what do you need help with?
Just finished unlocking Bootloader and made steps.
Going to do root and twrp. But first I want to extract my current boot image, as I am at latest update 11.0.1.6.HD61CB

Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking
On your phone go to Settings > About phone > Tap on Build number 7 times. This will enable Developer options. Now go back to Settings > System > Developer options > Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking. I also enable Advanced reboot.
Fastboot mode and Unlocking Bootloader
Turn the phone off. Then boot it into fastboot mode by holding volume up + and down - and power or select reboot to bootloader if advanced reboot is activated via developer options. The phone will display "fastboot" text indicating that it has successfully entered fastboot mode.
Plug the phone into your PC, then open a command prompt window on the desktop (Shift + Right Click -> Open Command Window here) and type:
fastboot devices
This command will list the connected devices. If your phones serial number shows up you are good to go and may continue. If the phone is NOT listed this indicates that your drivers are not installed correctly. In order for you to continue you must fix your drivers so that your phone is listed under fastboot devices.
If the phone has been recognized by the command above, proceed to unlocking the bootloader with the following command:
Remember this Step will WIPE EVERYTHING off the phone so Backup all your Data
type:
fastboot oem unlock
You would be greeted with a Unlock Bootloader Warning page, Hit the Vol button to select Yes and turn it Blue and Hit the Power Button to Execute the selection
Your device will reboot, show you a Secure boot warning, reboot into stock recovery and wipe all data. Once done, your phone will reboot into the OS (It will take some time to get boot – just leave it to do its thing).
Congratulations you've now successfully unlocked bootloader!
Flashing TWRP Recovery and Magisk root

Do not reboot to OS
Boot into TWRP Recovery
Now in TWRP, tap on Install and browse to the TWRP.zip and install it. TWRP will now be installed to both slots. TWRP is now installed. Reboot into TWRP Recovery.
Now in TWRP, tap on Install and browse to the Magisk-23.0(23000).apk and install it. Reboot to system.
Congratulations you've now successfully rooted your phone!

Cannot make VoLTE and Wifi Calling work. It seems it doesn't work on T-mobile version with some of other carriers.
