I have a question: is there an official or unofficial version of of TWRP for this phone yet? Or would possibly one of the versions for the OnePlus 7T Pro work?
I know you can root a phone without a custom recovery, but I've never attempted it. I think having a custom recovery is invaluable. Any bits of knowledge would be appreciated.

I've been Xiaomi user since redmi note 3, I used rn3, rn4, MI Max 1 and 2, rn5 and then a break with honor 8x and then samsung a 50..
I used to unlock bootloader of xioami phones and flash twrp and custom roms..
Now I've rn7 and I want to ask if there is any change about the method of rooting and custom. Recovery?
Is there any precautions, recommendations or hints I should be aware of?

I reccomend to use orangefox as recovery instead of twrp

The instructions are pretty detailed. Give a go yourself. Worst case scenario you have to flash back to stock.
If it is possible flash that mclaren rom please provide rom link...and if needs any extra flashing Process plz provide
