If you need the unbrick tool post here - let nubia know - Nubia Red Magic 5G / 5S Guides, News, & Discussion

I want to take a count of all the people who are stuck in EDL mode. The company has 1 support representative that helps us out (Jerry) and says the tool is under testing and not yet stable. If enough people post here stating they are bricked, there's a chance we get the tool early. I personally know of about 5 people stuck in EDL mode (called a "bricked" phone). So my guess is there are probably a hundred or more with phones stuck in EDL mode with no way to recover.

This is a good start. ( my RM5G is not bircked.)

I lied to you stuck in the EDL mode and waited for Jerry to get us out of the problem in my phone and the phones of others, I have not used my phone for more than a week and then I fell into the EDL, we badly need an ( unbrick tool red magik 5g ) ?

Well the whole point of this post, is to tally up how many people have been stuck in EDL mode. I have at least 5 people that have contacted me via Telegram saying they are EDL bricked. This is to just stress that Android 10 phones that come with the new "Super" dynamic partitions are basically an EDL brick waiting to happen. Op 8 Plus already released a factory reset EDL mode restore, we'd like one for the Red Magic 5G.
Now I'm a dev so I pretty much know how to avoid an EDL brick, but most people are not. You don't want to touch in any way the system partition. That's rule #1. We have had mixed comments from the tech support team that they MAY release an EDL restore tool in the next 2 weeks, but that is certainly not a sure thing.
If it does happen, you can thank Jerry at Red Magic who is very kind in supporting the community of developers.

I have been told by others that posting on Nubia's Facebook page is the fastest way to get a resolution https://www.facebook.com/nubiasmartphone/ . I know the number of people here in EDL mode is not an accurate number as I've been contacted on Telegram with far more than have posted here. I do suggest going to Nubia's Facebook page and requesting the unbrick tool for those of you stuck in EDL mode. Apparently that is much faster than contacting [email protected] - where apparently as a sub-brand of Nubia, they are less motivated to help you out.

I need unbrick tool for nubia play 5g... accidently flash wrong rom and my device in totaly dead only detect 9008...plz help me

I entered a Nubia account on Facebook and asked to provide an unbrick tool. Perhaps our voices reach the specialists in Nubia and provide them

I think we all need it. I broken mine too after update on with root (Genius) . Can't get into any mode. No screen light on.

I contacted the Nubia Qays Facebook account and he told me to provide me with my e-mail address, which I contacted technical support, and then technical support contacted me and asked me three questions, is the phone working or not? The answer was no and he said did you download another rom? So I said yes, I downloaded the ROM by mistake, and the third question said he provided me with the link that I downloaded the ROM file, so I supplied it, and in the end he ignored me and did not reply to my message and did not provide me with what I do or how it helps me to address the phone problem .. ?

Yes please
My phone is bricked

I got many friends help me to bring back the dead xiaomi, and i got my xiaomi to the service center and to repair expert but no one can really bring it back from bricked, i got the conclusion that it is the ROM because all suggest to change whole main board because no sparepart for just the ROM, so i sold the dead xiaomi to somebody and put up some money to buy a new one
I have been facing same problem with redmi note 3g, took it to the service center, they suggested to replace motherboard which will cost RS.6500 with tax and 1 month warranty, however, redmi note prime is on sale for Rs.7000 with 1 year warranty, So there is no point getting motherboard replaced, And Mi Service centers don't repair any of the parts, though I'm in the process of getting it checked with a local mobile center, If I get any usefull information, I will share it here

As I see it's an emmc chip problem. It should be replaced. Part number is H26M42003GMR

Is the H872PR version the same as H872 (T-Mobile)?

Hello all, I have the LG G6 H872PR, it's from Claro Puerto Rico, they were selling them at $317 with tax for a couple of days so I grabbed one obviously....this version doesn't let me change the launcher to the app drawer version nor let me download themes, also LG Smart World just ask me to connect the watch if I side-load it....My question if someone knows is....could I flash the T-Mobile kdz? I'm pretty sure it's the same phone and the PR in the model it's just the Claro software...
You can?
Were you able to do it? I'm looking for answers too. Thanks
I'm having the same thoughts. Also, I wonder if we're eligible for the 2-year warranty promise(?), the site won't accept my IMEI as valid so I assume not.
Is from lg caribbean, not us

Please, DO NOT TRY IT AT ALL COST.

Do you have any clue how to fix it?
Should I send it back to the seller? ( I didn't bought it from an official LG store, but it does have 1 year warranty)
I have contacted the seller. I told them the phone just won't boot at all. I also asked if the repairing procedures broke the water proofing, will they send a new unit.
And they replied "We will fix it with no cost at"
Do they really know how to fix it and is it possible?
I'm currently in the same situation as this guy https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/help/g6-hard-bricked-t3757370
But his phone is already fixed by RMA https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg6/comments/815ug3/lg_g6_hard_bricked/

Sadly no I do not. My aplogies. I just thought I should throw my 2 cents in about the partitions.
@Denversmartphone may be able to help you. I've noticed he posts lots of logs involving repairing G6s but he never really explains how it's done. From the logs we can see he restores from SD card but that's where my digging ends.
no hope to repair lg g6 in hard brick..i repair lg g6 dead boot yes but not in sd card way..all the way i try was wrong.. lg g6 is not unbrickable..i repair with jtag pro box... but you can only repair the h870 and the h873, i repair my h871 with loader of the h873 but not fixit..yes the phone will boot and can connect to pc, but the driver of the lcd are "caput" so in practis i cannot see the lcd even if you put it one new..i cannot fix my phone until someone release a h871 kdz...for the h872 there isn't any hope..but specialy for the lg g6 there isn't any hope for fix the dead boot..hope someone one day will find a way to fix it in qfil
Lg G6 H87220a .kdz
Somebody can put the download link of the Stock Rom of the Lg G6 H87220a .kdz, that is the new version of Android Oreo. I can not find anything in google.

I bought it from China(took 2 weeks to arrive). But it wasn't an official LG store. Can they fix it??

My last resort is to send my H872PR back to the seller under 1year international warranty. Does the warranty apply in this situation?
Do you think they can fix it?
also, is it worth waiting 2 weeks just waiting for my phone to arrive at the seller?
well...i suggest you yes to give back to the seller, you have to say to him that somethink going wrong when come the update to you..so say i just update my mobile and the phone doesn't boot anymore..they will repair for free if it is in waranty...they have a professional and expencive box i think for repair phone..only lg have a official kdz file and loader for unbrick..nobody can unbrick without rawprogram.xml and patch..i have the firehose ufs for the lg g6 but without rawprogram and patch.xml we cannot unbrick

Yea, I agree with you. I don't like to lie either. But, should I tell the seller the truth? that I tried flashing wrong firmware (H872TN to my H872PR) just to get Oreo 8.0?
I'm afraid that if I tell the truth, they won't even bother trying to repair the phone at all.
And, even if they did repair it, do you know how much does it cost?

My LG k20 Plus T-Mobile is tuck on download mode

Hello, dear friends. Me again learning how to repair those phones (LGs,Samsungs, HTCs...)
I was trying to bypass FRP Google luck for someone (client ). I decided to use z3x Box again... By just choosing the model, and I was supposed to click on: FRP bypass and after it failed...
Now the phone is stuck on download mode whether plugged on the wall.
I am trying to use LG UP to get it repair but I don't have the correct Firmware kdz files for the LG k20 Plus. I need help to bypass the Download mode. Thanks again.
I think you'll get very little help here in the Tasker forum. There doesn't seem to be a k20 forum but maybe someone in the k10 forum can help. There are at least some k20 users there. You might also consider the general area q/a forum for devices without a thread.
I have the firmware if u still need and twrp let me know. My LG mp260 is working awesome from having rr on it to the audio mods from magisk.
This points to how to get into it, but maybe reverse?
For Christ's sake, don't use Z3box.

Root/Updates/Rebranding/Unbricking - Official FunkyHuawei Support Thread for Mate 9

This is the official FunkyHuawei support thread.
FunkyHuawei is a (mostly) paid service which allows you to do the following:
1. Install the latest system software, even before it's released by OTA.
2. Install beta/prerelease system software, without needing to be a beta tester.
3. Recover a bricked phone.
4. Rebranding / Change the region of your phone (China -> Europe, for example, to get Google and so on.)
5. Root your EMUI 8 phone, even with stock recovery (This feature is free)
Except for rooting, all of these features are supported even if you cannot unlock your phone's bootloader.
We are pleased to announce FHUnbrickFlashTool -- You can now repair any recent Huawei phone via fastboot, even if you cannot access eRecovery or boot the phone! Even if it doesn't show the Huawei logo, as long as you can get a fastboot connection to your computer, you can recover the phone! Google FHUnbrickFlashTool or check FunkyHuawei's reddit for details.
To find FunkyHuawei, please Google it. Or you can find a link to the service within the following XDA Portal article.
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-oreo-emui-6-huawei-mate-9/
In cooperation with XDA, FunkyHuawei is offering a free credit to Recognized Developers and Recognized Contributers on XDA.
Please PM me for more details.
We will continue posting in this thread with updates regarding new software versions and releases regarding this device.
We will also be monitoring it so we can help anyone who has issues.
For device-specific information, please see the next post.
Mate 9 Device-Specific Information
The Mate 9 now has a relatively mature community with many methods to do many things.
However, there are still some things only possible with FunkyHuawei, so it would be most useful for:
1. Installing updates, especially on bootloader-locked devices, even if the update is not approved by Huawei for your device.
2. Rebranding bootloader-locked devices.
3. Restoring bricked devices.
Note that even though the Mate 10 Root tool is designed for and publicized as being for the Mate 10, it works perfectly on the Mate 9 running Android O betas.
This tool is FREE, and might be easier than installing TWRP and rooting that way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does FunkyHuawei cost?
A: You need to buy credits on the FunkyHuawei website. The price per credit varies depending on the number of credits you buy. Different operations cost different amounts of credits. However, the Root feature of the Mate 10 tool is free, and as mentioned above, Recognized Developers/Contributors of XDA can ask for a free credit.
Q: My phone is bootloader locked, and FRP locked. My bootloader unlock code dosen't work. It won't boot. eRecovery doesn't work. Can you help?
A: Yes. With the Mate 10 this is now a common situation. Contact FunkyHuawei for help in this situation. We'll need to access your computer remotely and the procedure is a little bit complicated, but the phone can be unbricked.
Q: I can't get my bootloader unlock code/don't want to unlock my bootloader, but I want to change my phone to something other than Chinese. Can you help?
A: Yes. Our new FunkyHuawei Rebrand Tool works on ALL recent Huawei phones, to rebrand them to another region even when the bootloader is locked.
Q: I'm not seeing the latest version listed on FunkyHuawei or elsewhere as an OTA. Why not?
A: Huawei has a very odd and unpredictable way of rolling out OTA updates. You can use FunkyHuawei to install the new version immediately, or can wait for the update to be rolled out. It might be a month or more after release until the update reaches your device from Huawei directly. We have no idea why.
Q: Why isn't FunkyHuawei free?
A: Because many of FunkyHuawei's features cost FunkyHuawei money to provide. Features that don't cost FunkyHuawei money to provide, like rooting the Mate 10 or our TWRP build for Mate 9/Oreo, for example, are generally made available for free. There are also bills to pay, kids to put through school, and so on.
Q: I noticed FunkyHuawei in an XDA Portal article!
A: FunkyHuawei loves XDA, and is cooperating with them as much as possible. Recognized Developers and Contributors on the XDA forums are welcome to claim a free credit from FunkyHuawei as well.
Q: I have a different question.
A: This is what this thread is for! Post away!
I am surprised how you always have the audacity to constantly advertise your paid services on here even though most of the community is obviously bothered by it.
Advertising your products is against the rules of XDA. You're just getting away with it nowadays because you're doing it indirectly. But you're not fooling anyone and we all know what you're doing. Just stop. It's annoying.
New Android O Build: MHA-L29 8.0.0.329(C432) now available for MHA-L29 European branding.
Can be installed with eRecovery on top of any Android O beta.
Someone report this

It is currently allowed for commercial organizations to post "support" threads so long as they don't post links to their site, behave in a spammy way or post things that are clearly not of interest or use to our users or our purpose as a site. This is of use as the info is of direct relevance and use to users. The information here is not really any more than we'd allow in a "Support" thread.
So, it's within the rule, he is providing support, he's not linking out of XDA. As with any other support thread, if for any reason it were to be abused then the article would be pulled and the thread closed.

I never said his post broke any of the rules. I do realize that it does not. If it was, I would have reported it.
I am not sure if you're a Mate 9 user, but if you do spend a lot of time on the Mate 9 forums you'd see how he is always talking about his website and how he used it to do X and Y. About how it is a solution to bricked phones and whatsoever. It is not that hard to see that he is indeed indirectly advertising for his service (and I do realize there might be no rules against that). But yeah. It is just annoying how he is always on about his website. Especially considering that the user was previously temporary banned for putting his paid service on here.

No problem. The post wasn't completely directed at you. We'd already received reports from other members so I wanted to explain to all; your post just happened to be readily available to reply to.
I understand your point and we've clarified with him what is and isn't allowed. He's promised to tone it down and to limit it to his support threads. So, as we do with all members of the community who want to contribute, let's give him the benefit of the doubt and let this thread get back on topic.

While I generally don't approve of advertising here on xda, I have to say that Funky Huawei with their unbrick tool are a life saver. As long as you can get into fastboot mode this little tool can rescue your phone. It costs a little money for their "credits" but when it comes to either having a $400 paperweight or having a working phone the process is worth it.

Hate to agree, while I don't like how they operate I have used them to save a device or two because I messed up. The eRecovery with DNS is brilliant and pretty much idiot (me) proof.

L09 is the single sim version and L29 is the dual SIM version, rebranding is not going to change the model.

Same here, this was the first and hopefully last time, if it wasn't for a corrupt system.img backup that I had I wouldn't have had to use their unlock tool, next time I flash a custom system I'm going to make damn sure my backup is flashable and not going to brick this beast

LG G6 bootloader unlock is not possible anymore through LG

After succesfully flashing the wonderful LineageOS into my Samsung Galaxy Tab A i was so excited to do the same with my LG G6 H870. Today i set up the connection, wanted to get the bin file from LG developer site and realized they had shut down the site 31. december 2021. Now i am left with locked bootloader
And i believe many people will be sad because of this. Its unfair from LG to remove this option. If they will continue to support a few recent phones with SW updates they also had to leave the bootloader unlock service alive for a few years too.
I dont know if any developer is reading this but would it be possible to find an exploit if we are forced to because of no other options left? Like when devs are reverse engineering licence key validation and then building keygens, so to examine the bin file and the corresponding IMEI, device ID, possibly gather further bin files and IMEI, device ID from other forum members and find the logic behind it?
Could anybody give us hope?
Thank you for your opinions.
I'm in same boat with G5H850. Hope someones finds a solution beacause several LG support answered me they cannot perform the unlock anymore...
I feel so disappointed as it was an automated process that they do not support it anymore.
Is there any other way to flash trwp now? Would firehouse help?
Same to me, I wanted to upgrade an old G6 to LineageOS and got stopped out.
Thank you LG, I won't buy any **** from your company anymore.
So if anyone finds a workaround for this issue, please post a solution in this thread. Tyvm in advanced.
Any new methods??

I highly doubt and i would be surprised.
I dont think G6 was such a popular model across the globe. Everybody has moved to the more recent versions and are unlocking them with a special method.
I think its not worth to waste development time on it. Maybe if there could be "keygen" type script to generate the files for every LG model globally.
I am sad btw. I have renewed my galaxy tab a tablet with a nice Lineage and i believe it would boost my G6 as well. I would pay a reasonable price if i could flash a custom ROM into it.

There most likely won't be a new method. The unofficial methods are used through EDL, and the EDL isn't accessable without shorting pins or test points. I'm glad i unlocked mine the day i got it last year.

But that EDL stuff method is for a few newer models only, right? I dont believe it would work on G6 as well. I did not dig into it deeper but as far as i remember its a specifix kernel for the EDL stuff method, chipset is different, partitioning is different, so it wont work on G6. But i might be wrong of course

Yeah, i ment that. Cuz the EDL is basically not made to be accessed on the G6 and lower, there won't be a method.
A responsible company should put out a bootloader unlock code generator while discontinuing its mobile business. Or change the unlocking method to Google pixel's standard way in the last system update, i.e. unlocking via command line
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
.
