Oppo Reno x10 Zoom TELEPHOTO LENS Video Recording Trick/Workaround - OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi, i have the same problem as you with the Telephoto Lens that cant record video, but i found a trick/workaround that its kinda usefull and i am made a video about it so you can see the difference and how to do it
you can use Telephoto Lens to record video even Ultra Wide but with the cost of Aspect Ratio...... take a look at it(In the video it looks like it stutters some times but in video samples everything it smooth and with better resolution i dont know why it looks so bad....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOes77dlZ5Y&feature=youtu.be
If someone could edit the Default Camera app to remove all these setting in the Photo Mode and use Screen Record to higher Aspect Ratio would be Perfect and clone it so we have both Main camera and the Same for Zoom Video

You can dial *#899# then go to manual test > camera > second rear camera for the ultrawide, but there's no zoom

Camera settings for best quality

Guys okay i can see all of you likes the camera quality and i think then is just me i cant do the right settings to it to get good quality pictures ... i read in this forum to get rid of task killers and use only System Panel and to disable the image stabilizer to get more focused and non blurry pictures but still i don`t think the quality is that great because the sharpness is big fail ...(or it is me not using the right settings) if i have to compare it with camera of nokia 6700 the nokia is taking better quality pictures ... if somebody can tell me what is the right settings to use i`ll be more than happy ty! atm i at as it fallows Normal capturing mode, 8mpx or 6mpx it depends scenes more often are in normal and using multi autofocus as common taking picture method
i agree, id be very interested in the replies, i put most of mine down to poor light but to be fair it should be able to deal with indoor lighting
Ive used 8mp and 6mp wide. I switch on screen touch to take photo. Image stabiliser off.

well its looking good John but anyways in full size picture the quality is not so good... when i`m looking my pictures in my phone they look great but when i download them at my pc they are very different ...i red about switching stabilizer off and its a bit better y but still is more to want from that camera

I use Vignette since I think the default camera app messes with the picture.. it compresses it or something
Plus with Vignette you can take 16:9 8 mp shots, not just 4:3 8 mp. and they look great. Look at my timelapse for proof
yeah with vignette is much better i think but it is only me again how to shoot video with vignette ... because i can only take pictures with this widget
Vignette has a widget?
Anyway Vignette is only for taking pictures, not videos
I think the pics are compressed when uploaded. Zoom is hopeless though.

Yeah... it's a crap digital zoom. Not gonna get anything more out of a lens that small. I don't think I've seen a cameraphone with an optical zoom, and we have some insane cameraphones in Japan. (12 MP CCD with 1080p video, ect)

Tap on the Star button - effects and frames
And then go to frame and choose 16:9
always try to play with EV. It kinda seems that on 0 EV images are bit over exposed. Same as taking well lit night images, lowering EV do -0.7 -1 also lowers ISO values, so you ll get less noise

Well, thing is, Vignette can't do that
And the stock camera app is compressing the files too much.
Why the hell SE doesn't give us the option to set compression level?

New Lollipop camera features

... not the features we all want like manual exposure, focus and RAW shooting, not even 4K or 120fps video, but:
We can now record Full HD video at 60fps
Real-time ISO: The viewfinder may seem less smooth but the image is more accurate to what you get: at ISO-50 you immediately see if the image will turn out too dark!
New metering setting: "face"!
Touch Block integrated in the settings menu!
Front facing camera now seems to expose on yo face (also, the timer seems added, and did this mode always come with software image stabilisation..?)
Pause while shooting video (thanks HSNalfar3)
Last but not least: a fancier design, obviously
EDIT: I believe the camera algorithms themselves were updated too. Remember you used to see oversharpening so clearly? Even at ISO-50 you could see these two dark pixel lines everywhere over your photo - well, I can't see those now, and images seem a bit softer anyway. Me likey!
EDIT 2: The option for 60fps Full HD video isn't working for some reason, as confirmed by Hanafubuki. Might be a remnant of newer Lollipop devices...
Mainly the first two points are is very interesting. I've always found it annoying that I couldn't see in the viewfinder how photos at ISO-50 would turn out. That is, if it's dark, then images would turn pitch black but you would only see when you took the photo. Now it's already visible in the viewfinder, so it's easier to change ISO (although the setting is still buried in the menu and having to scroll down in landscape... (c'mon Sony you could've easily done better here as well) ). Also, the 60fps Full HD video is a very welcome addition in my opinion.
Another feature
In the superior auto application, in camera options appears the option Burst with longpress that allows you to keep several pictures while holding the camera button. I think that this is new on lollipop.

I was wondering about the DRM: if I have unlocked bootloader and lost the TA partition, will the camera miss noise reduction after update to Lollipop? Also, there's a DRM fix for KitKat UB, will it work on Lollipop?
Thanks.
Yeah, I saw on the videos that now we have 60FPS recording. That will allow us to do timeshift videos without the app, instead in the actual movie editor. I am still waiting on my T-Mobile Macedonia Europe firmware... :/
I think our device can shoot 4k and timeshift video, perhap sony will get that on the next update. For this update I think it's less smooth than last firmware but less focus time too. :good:
no 60fps!!!
if you dont believe, make a video, open on windows and there it is 29 fps....

Actually, I may have spoken too soon indeed. I posted right before I went to bed and when I tried the 60fps mode afterwards and slowed it down by half in the phone's video editor, it did indeed seem as choppy as 15fps video...
Either Sony forgot to implement it or, which I think is more likely, it was a remnant of Lollipop for newer Sony phones. Either way, it's a shame it isn't working.

Wasn't this possible before? My Sony Ericsson Satio and Nokia N8 could both do this already.
I'll add it to the list
Same here with the FHD 60FPS . It olny records at 30 FPS . I smell a new update prety soon from Sony to fix the bugs .
Overall the z1 takes better pictures than before and the camera is fast now
Real time ISO is not a excuse for a laggy view finder... Even My Tablet Z with and old SoC and lower ISP running 4.4.4 has also Real time ISO and doesn't lag as the Z1/C.

Agree, portrait mode is terrible, also all the photos add some kind of softening filter. Only good thing is that you can edit the center of the photo so you can move the bokeh effect.

Well I use open camera mostly due to options. At low light I've found that the image quality is GREAT if you use 4MP(16:9) checked with 9MP and 12MP(always at 16:9 ratio).
In 4MP at very low light I was super impressed(always 100% jpeg quality in the open camera app). Test it yourself, it worth your time. Just make sure you have a steady surface
EDIT: uploading pictures 12MP, 9MP, 4MP
Image difference 2-3 seconds apart - 9:00pm (4MP>12MP>9MP). Don't know why 4MP is so much better(less MP is worse than 12MP)

Well if you want optical zoom you still need to use the stock camera, 4K rec? you can but I pref 1080p also I do like to adjust the bitrate of the video and audio and open camera does have that. I use to use this app to my 1+1 too
I like to customize everything and miui camera well ..2-3 settings at best
P.S. Open camera also doesn't have panorama but talking to the dev and said he's planning to include a panorama soon - Did you check the low light quality in 4MP? impressive(compered to higher res)

Time to take picture (camera launch speed)

There! Something just happened! Did you take a picture of it? Rate this thread to express how fast the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite can go from "zero to picture". A higher rating indicates that launching the camera app and taking a photo is extremely fast such that you never miss an important moment, like when your cat attacks the couch again.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Sometimes it is superfast, sometimes superslow and sometimes camera opens into all white blank screen and nothing happens
camera is soooo bad, I barely used it,yuck
The camera is pretty fast. Super fast, actually. The app opens immediately, and taking the first picture takes no time at all. And it's pretty well focused. If you want to manually focus a specific point, it takes a lettle more time. But still, pretty fast.
However, the camera sucks. At least the app. I've tried other camera app and thew work a little better, but still... I expected a better camera. I don't know why it has 2 rear cameras. Do they actually do something? Improve light, focusing time, whatever? I cannot see any diference between pictures taken with the secondary camera fisically covered.
Also, did anyone manage to get any good macro picture? You have to shoot really far away from the object in order for the camera to focus it.

For macro pictures, none. It sucks.
For default settings (auto) and fast photos, the stock app.
For extra functionality, I like the Camera MX app.
And I find interesting the lighting treatment of the camera zoom fx app (under the name of hdr, it combines 3 pictures for normal, max and min exposure). It also gives you tons of customization.
I'll give a try to open camera. Haven't tested it, yet.
I'll say neither of them is the "best" . They all use the same camera hardware. It's personal preference on the image treatment or personalization of the camera settings.
I'll set up magiks asap and I'll give a try with camera2api enabled (camera zoom fx let's you shoot on real manual mode).
I can post a picture of each to compare if you want to.

I've just installed magisk and enabled camera2API to try gcam and Mi A1 and Mi A2 apps. But the pictures I've taken are with regular apps before doing so. Here the go.
https://postimg.cc/gallery/2xord8elu/
1st column --> Camera MX
2nd column --> Camera Zoom FX
3rd column --> Open Camera
4th column --> Stock camera app
As I said. Not major differences. Except in low light situations where ISO must be well adjusted by the app. I'd choose an app for the user experience more than for picture quality, since they all are pretty similar.
did you find any improvement with gcam?
(that can't use the second camera on the back - correct?)
It's a very generic camera, and with the 2.2 aperture, expecting good results on low lights..well, a stretch. But it does okay for the price. Front camera is rather good and it's probably the only phone in this price range to provide EIS in video which works really well.
Hello, I'm creating an account in order to give my real-life review of this phone. The previous phones I had were HTC One M8, LG G6.
Camera launching speed from the lockscreen and from the drawer is very good, to me. Especially since the Android Pie update.

Just waiting for either ROOT or Huawei to unlock the Camera2.API so we can use filmic pro, LOG capturing and higher bitrates will improve the video quality to no end. Yet, Huawei ignore all requests for the C2.API and have done for years.
Video zoom issue
Guys, I recently baught P30 pro. I faced a peculiar problem. When l am taking a video in wide mode and then use the zoom button, first press takes it to 1x (from 0.6x of wide), second press takes it to 5x and third press takes it to 10x. When I press the button again it takes it back to wide angle. But between switch from 10x to wide there is an instant of very disturbed and pixelated video before wide angle takes over. This is not there between any other zoom switching (0.6x to 1x, 1x to 5x, 5x to 10x). Anybody facing the same issue?

When l am taking a video in wide mode and then use the zoom button, first press takes it to 1x (from 0.6x of wide), second press takes it to 5x and third press takes it to 10x. When I press the button again it takes it back to wide angle. But between switch from 10x to wide there is an instant of very disturbed and pixelated video before wide angle takes over. This is not there between any other zoom switching (0.6x to 1x, 1x to 5x, 5x to 10x). Anybody facing the same issue?

Don't press, slide
Problem with sliding is between 1x and 5x which is a digital zoom and gets heavily pixelated. I also noticed that the problem happens when I jump from 10x to wide. Not from 10x to 1x.
What do guys think of the 1080p 60 fps quality?
For me, I find it worse!
It loses the details and textures when on this mode. It's even worse when in low light situation.
