Probably a limitation of the tests.

No - it was real. Got extensive help on telegram, cleaned some things - and all is good.
One test is wrong, so Google ufo test works and shows 120.

Oh ok so it really was on 60?
What testing software did you use?

Games running very badly

:crying:
I am having problems with games running very slowly, it seems the more simple the graphics are the worse it is
Eg "Clear Vision" runs really badly as do a lot of the games from the latest Humble Bundle but gfx intensive games like Shadowgun seem to run fine!!
Anyone got any ideas?
Define "running badly". Display corruption? Tearing? Banding? Lag? Fuzzy?
The only thing I've had is fuzziness. Some apps don't scale well to our extremely high resolution.

Many Android games are yet to properly handle the N10's resolution, or badly optimized anyways, the HW can handle everything, the problem lies at the developers,.

Beach Buggy Blitz and Riptide - both set to max graphics - run very well here. Don't have the Tegra3 special effects but look otherwise even better to me than on the Nex7.

Dont get me wrong im not trolling, a lot of games run really well but I have come across a few that dont and it seems to be the more basic graphics games that dont.

the force gpu acceleration option in the developer settings seems to make them run a little better

Just tried it, must be a bug because the videos are normal speed, as is the game, but the menus animate in slow mo.

Yeah thats what I get, im guessing we just need to wait for app devs to catch up.
the the force gpu acceleration option has vastly improved some games so this might be a work around if anyone else has any issues

I would worry about running games at 2560x1600 on a PC, the fact that we're doing it on a tablet is crazy.

[I9500] How to turn off VSync?

Hi. I just wanna ask how to turn off vsync on I9500? I know i will get artifacts effect thing . i just wanna test on quadrant and more benchmarking apps. I search and got build.prop edit. And it doesnt work. Anybody can help?
Yeah, i'm asking this myself. I have a couple of games (arcade roms) that are synced to a different refresh rate and they stutter a bit. I'm thinking temporarily disabling vsync will make them smooth.
Thank you!
edit: i am on a 4.3 custom rom, with Ktoonez kernel.

Code:
debug.egl.swapinterval=0
This seems to unlock the FPS limit.
I was able to achieve higher FPS in benchmarks after using that.
So, how do i use this line?

Thanks man. I'm a bit of a noob, but i'll study the buil.dprop issue. Is there any danger in trying this? Is it safe for the phone?

yes there was already news reported about the app on the pixel's and that it was actually slowing them down, so i would imagine any phone that has this installed would have the same results.

I don't have the option to turn digital wellbeing's usage data permission wtf
Edit: I have successfully uninstalled digital wellbeing through adb, hope it was worth the while. I didn't use it like at all but I enjoyed seeing it there
i'm amazed by the amount of positive feedback but can someone post a simpler guide. i really wish to try this out.

Run 120fps within any app and any resolution you wish

Import this little profile here to tasker
PLEASE TRY IT WITH QHD
Follow the steps within profile
Beta 2 will theorically let you run strictly on 60hz and will run you back to 120 whenever you open an app that you desire to be refreshing at 120
Needed
Tasker
Patient
Knowledge on how to run adb commands until there's root.
Any app and resolution should give you the refresh rate you're looking for.
Please enjoy and report back.
Update Beta V2.2

They have been, but on a different device and have worked well,
I have been looking back and forth to aosp how they are managing the refresh rates. to force x fps they use min_refresh_rate & peak_refresh_rate. What i have done here is that i made a custom task when you open an app to set this variables to these values for example peak_refresh_rate value = 120.0, variable min_refresh_rate value = 120.0. Then when you exit the app to set this variables to these values for example peak_refresh_rate value = 60.0 variable min_refresh_rate value = 120.0. These are system variables so you have to make sure that you select system and dont just leave at global

There is but, the only problem that I have been having is that when you exit the app were you want to run it in my case my is 75hz. So let's say I have it set to open x app at 75 it will do it, but it won't reset it back down to 60 so it would just be stuck. So I am not doing any fps that aren't officially supported by the phone and oem.

This will not work with QHD, but i can confirm it does work with 1080p. It is forcing 120hz in Chrome browser when it was only doing 60hz before.
