internal SDCARD Allocation Error ? - Samsung Galaxy A20 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Problem: After Update & Root Errors
Now it shows internal SD memory says now it only has 5gb instead of 32 (28~GB)
it had had normal size before.
WTF...?
I maybe messed with some wrong file before on flash, but I really wonder, how to solve this problem..
Damn every phone has its own difficulties, rooted so many phones, but this the process is always somehow unique...
And where is the proper TWRP file for the A20e latest android 9 version?
DBT-A202FXXU3ASL4-20200120200600
Please someone link it for me. The one I found doesn't seem to work..

lol, you need to know it was because of the wrong VBmeta file.
I wondern why the manuals can't be clearer sometimes.
Just like the TWRP tutorial - somehow you need to have the right vbmeta in Hand, but nothing more about this and where to get the proper one.
Whatever, it helped to relock Bootloader and to make a clean install with CSC (not HOME_CSC), then the files and sizes got right again.
Also re-partition helps in this case.
Anyway it's really frustrating to root these days, but at least we still can do this.
Without root many things would suck alot... i would not buy a phone without the possibility of it.

hmmm I wonder if this is why I'm experiencing problems with my recently rooted a20e and no choice for internal storage.

The vbmeta.img is included in the TWRP.tar

What do you recommend to diagnose / fix?

I cannot seem to get a GSI installed successfully, many of the tutorials say to use an AB partition GSI but the treble partition check says the SM-A202F/DS isn't an AB partition device.
It says:
"Your device does not support Seamless System Upgrades and is detected to have an A-only system partition."

Bootloop without reason!! Any solution except Factory Reset?

Hi everyone, I owns a Black, Made in China variant Mi A1, bought it almost 10 months ago so it's in brand new condition.
A night I was using it as regular, watching YouTube, It suddenly restarted automatically, and stuck on 'Android One' boot animation.
I wasn't doing any heavy or intensive task, was not having any issue except storage full. The device is on official stock rom and on June security patch with Android 8.1.
I've tried >?1. Apply update from ADB in recovery mode with June update, which gave me -> E: footer is wrong. E: signature verification failed. Installation aborted
>?2. Apply update from SD card with the same update as above, which gave me -> Couldn't mount SD card
Bootloader is locked, USB debugging is off, no custom recovery installed.
Is there any way to make it work again without erasing user data? I'm familiar with all kinds of Command Line Interface and with almost every tech term. Any help would be appreciated.?
I think only Miflash, with first nougat rom works for you. Save user data. Works for me, after I tried Lineage OS.

Hi,
i have also experienced the same issue recently and struggling hard to make it working again.
I have tried with MI flash but u need to have a bootloader unlocked as well. If not, flashing will not start.

Without reason? Probably THIS is the reason. I think your problem is related to data partition and a flash with Miflash can't help you. Only a factory reset can solve this.

Can you describe what in the data partition caused this? Because I've been using this device with 90% storage filled for months??*.
And I've factory reset the device as there was no other ways to make it work again but still I want to know what was the cause of the problem.

When memory is almost full R/W errors can occur.
Maybe 90% you see is not including temporary-swap files, so that you are dangerously close to 100% storage filled.

I have just softbricked my Mi A1 and need to flash the official rom with MiFlash, problem is that I can't find the right file to flash. Any tips to where I can download the official firmware? I'm looking for the zipped version, not an image. MiFlash can't read the images I've downloaded so far.

Here are some of the links where you can find the official rom in .zip format. Check if they are compatible with MiFlash tool-

[Help] Can I flash a rom from the internal storage?

Hello everyone,
I just got an S8 (G950F), and would like to flash Project Alice or Light Rom, or whatever you guys advice, thing is, I don't have an SD card, and I can't get one right now for a few weeks (I live in a really small town, and won't be going to the city for 2 weeks or so), every rom thread I see that they say "put the rom in the SD card and flash with TWRP", can I use internal storage instead?, I assume I don't have to format Data for it to work. (Coming from a Xiaomi that encrypted data so I had to format it a lot)
Thanks in advance

I have one more question if you could help me, I am using the CRI5 firmware stock, yesterday I tried to flash TWRP which was ok, and then the no verity fix, after this the phone wouldn't go past the black Samsung Galaxy screen, and showed an error in red on the top about valid firmware.
I managed to reflash the stock firmware, but I'm not sure how to get TWRP to work anymore, should I just flash again? Was the problem the no verity zip? Any advice on how to get going to put a custom ROM?
Thank you

[Help] MLA-L03 No OS, no Backup, Black Screen need help.

I've probably messed this thing up just about as badly as I can.
Here's what I can tell you:
Update: I just figured out that you are supposed to put dload onto a separate sd card, So i'll be trying that when the phone comes out of it's coma XD anything else you can suggest is very welcome.
- The phone currently isn't turning on after messing around in twrp(tried to restart into bootloader)
- While trying to get it working, it is now showing up as CAN-L11(likely from trying some backups of others)
- I was unable to use ANY roms I tried. full update files didn't work. always error 7
- It seems in twrp that I'd often get this error: mountencrypt failed to mount /data, despite wiping /data many times
- I've tried using iso files extracted from some update.app, and using that to get system and data on there, as well as recovery too
- I was switching between twrp and default recovery to transfer files and then use dload to try to recover the system, never let me do it though. got to 5% then told me something like: "Getting package info failed". it would do this in the download and recover mode as well when I would hook up to the internet and it would also give me that error.
You are free to ask me any questions about the device.
I think I just need to drain the battery then I should be able to at least get something out of it, but until then, if anyone has any recommendations after it's functional again let me know. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, that's why. The model name can be changed in build.prop, but you're still using a CAN-L11 ROM though.

You haven't flashed the TWRP mentioned in the first post of their thread, hence you've got that error which is basically telling you that you're trying to flash the ROM on an unsupported device (the phone's codename / model is mentioned in TWRP and ROM checks for it), but actually it's working on all models.
- It seems in twrp that I'd often get this error: mountencrypt failed to mount /data, despite wiping /data many times

That occurs because TWRP doesn't support decryption. You have to format data, not wipe. You can format it from TWRP > Wipe > Format data.
- I've tried using iso files extracted from some update.app, and using that to get system and data on there, as well as recovery too

Try to unplug the cable from PC. Also, note that I've read in past somewhere that the firmwares from Firmware Finder has to be approved by Huawei and if it isn't, then the stock recovery will fail to flash it. Other Huawei phones has modified / patched stock recovery which allows to flash unapproved firmwares though.

SOLVED:Stuck at PIN input, then reboots

Well, I f*cked up.
Fastboot works, I can flash stock rom via Xiaomi Flash. Flashing completes without any problems. A notification about encypting phone shows up, at 3% it jumps to 100% and resumes boot. Now after each boot, phone freezes at "input your sim pin" and reboots. Over and over again. What can I try, please help :

Try to format data in twrp or stock recovery.
If it does not work flash an android 8.0 or Nougat ROM. Do not lock the bootloader.
Let me guess. From Pie to Oreo or Nougat?

if you can boot to fastboot try to flash stock pie 10.0.4.0 with miflash, after that your device should be able to boot, than unlock OEM and bootloader and downgrade to what version you want

I can get to fastboot yeah, but MiFlash tool says that remote oem unlock is not allowed. So I'll probably have to open it up for EDL. Reboot to edl isn't working. Thanks for the advice tho.

which stock rom have you try to flash? are you downgrading from oreo? bootloop on android one logo after downgrading is a common issue due to ARB (anti rollback protection)

The problem is with the Pie specific partition table
I write the whole guide from memory, so it can differ a bit.... I skipped some steps ( erasing, reboot, fastboot mode, TWRP loading via fastboot, OEM unlock )
From previous writings I think you can know the skipped steps.
Keep in mind: It is dangerous, you can loose your IMEI ( it will only work again with Pie - or there are some writings at forum how can you manually change it. ).
Steps:
1 - Backup with TWRP (fastboot) efs, persist, modem & make copy to your computer and or to your cloud provider.
2 - Create a new folder in Internal Storage -> TWRP -> BACKUP -> With a new date directory ( the backup already made one, make a new folder, with different date )
3 - Download someone's older TWRP backup from xda (I cheated, I copied the following links ) :
(I'm still a new user, so can't directly write url's )
Mediafire : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2QU5NtC
Mirror: Google Drive : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2UN1DTo
4 - Unpack, and copy EFS to the folder created 2 point
5 - Fastboot TWRP -> Restore EFS
6 - Flash the Official latest firmware from en.miui.com ( If you want to make sure go with EDL mode )
7 - Now, the IMEI & Mac addresses are missing. Don't panic! Download update with System Updates.
8 - When you are on Pie again, restore your first TWRP (fastboot) persist partition
9 - One more System restore
At this time, you will have IMEI & Mac addressees, and hopefully a working phone.
Hope this helps. The same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago. This is how I solves it.
Thank you, I solved it yesterday. Hopefully this post will come in handy for other people!

Internal Storage shrinked to 16gb

hi, i tried to root my Samsung G975F but failed everytime. Now i saw that my storage shrinked to 16 gb from 120gb. How do i revert it back ?
Please someone root my device over the air using Anydesk or Teamviewer.
I really need someone's help :'(
I think someone trying to perform an ota root is impossible, theres steps that would require certain hardkey presses.
I have not rooted any phone since 2014 so im out of touch with the process, but thinking about it, by any chance was there a partion setting? If there is maybe you set it wrong?

Im not really in the best position to be advising you, i dont know what the process is for the S10plus, but im assuming that whats happened is its given you a huge system partition and a small user partition? If you download or use solid file explorer, it should show you the root directory where you will be able to see its size.
I would assume you'd need to root from scratch again and change its partition sizes.
You can try to flash your current firmware with Odin. Choose the normal CSC-File and select Re-Partition. You will lose all Data

Download official firmware and use odin with re-partition using PIT file from the firmware. I hope it will put partition to factory settings and your data will be lost in process.
