Hmm are you sure ?

Zero issues on the S5e with the AKG Branded Type-C earbuds that came with my Note 10+ so yes you can use Type-C earbuds on the S5e

Will TyTN/8525 Y-Cables work for the TyTN 2 ?

Specifically this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/mini-usb-Y-cabl...ihZ015QQcategoryZ3311QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
Or is there a better quality cable that has these same two plugs ?
Thanks,

Hi a quick question, this Y cable what is it supposed to do? i can see that you have a mini usb output and a 3.5mm jack output, does that mean i can charge it and listen to MP3 at the same time?
Thanks

I am assuming "YES" as that is my goal.
Please correct me anyone if I am mistaken....
it should work. The HTC stuff hasn't changed much so anything that uses the mini-USB for headphones and charging are the same. My last T-Mobile Dash came with a Y that works in that and the Kaiser.

Type C audio doesn't work?

My audio jack is broken so I bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M5CVB54/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For some reason when I plug in type c headphones or that it plays through the speakers. Any help?

Going out on a limb here but maybe cause the audio is routed to the audio jack since we have one and not to the type C ? Like I said not completely sure and I may be wrong.

Then disregard.
Aren't there two types of USB-C Audio? Like one pure-digital and another one using legacy-audio?
One needs some DAC on the adapter end, and one doesn't.
So maybe the Axon doesn't do legacy audio routing through USB-C and you must either use pure USB-C headset with audio DAC included, rather than a usb-c legacy converter like you did buy?
Not sure about that, but I seem to remember there are those two types. Have you tested that exact same adapter on the 0+3?
Having a jack might mean that legacy audio isn't available, and I doubt that the O+3 is different in that.
TLDR : The adapter you bought might only work on phones without a jack if legacy audio isn't implemented (and not even sure about that, since it varies from OEM to OEM)
EDIT : That adapter sure has a 5 star rating, tho...
Maybe you can try enabling it under Developer Options > Select USB Configuration > Audio Source

There's another option under developer options in the Media category: Disable USB audio routing.
Mine is disabled by default. Maybe toggle that in addition to USB configuration.
Axon Zte 7 Mini no sound Type C audio
Sound was working with adapter on Type C charging port but stopped. Tried master reset, developer options chose audio source but still no sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated
@Android2200,what have you done to your phone before Axon Zte 7 Mini no sound Type C audio happens? Maybe you can back up your phone data and get factory reset, and upgrade.

Type-C Audio?

Does Mi A1 supports Type-C audio output? Just bought a converter Type-C to 3.5mm and it doesn't work. But according to this one his earphone does work. Any idea? Or anyone tried with Type-C converter or other Type-C earphones?

I recently researched Type-C audio adapters as a possible way to get rid of the hissing sound. I read a lot of product reviews and it seems that most of the adapters do not work properly on android phones.
This is understandable because right now there is not enough demand (Android phones without headphone jacks are just coming out, and mostly they bring adapters out of the box).
My conclusion is that you have to wait at least another 3 months for good & proven adapters to come out. I assume there is quite some demand from Mi A1 users becasue of the hissing issue, so there will likely be good adapters for our phone in the future.
I strongly assume that Type-C audio output is supported because the Mi A1 is running stock android, which should have native supports given that phones without headphone jacks are becoming mainstream. But I am just guessing.
I found this under developer options. You can disable audio output via USB - which indicates that it is enabled by default (i.e. Type-C audio should be supported by the OS). No guarantees though.
Mi A1 does support audio output from type C port and I've been listening to music with my zorloo Z:ero headphones from day one using Meenova USB type C adapter.
Don't remember which adapter I got as Meenova were kind and sent me usb type C adapter back in 2016 to test my headphones on my LG G5. By the way Z:ero headphones have micro usb type plug so not sure if it changes anything. And they said that Not all micro-usb to usb-c adapter works, it has to be built for usb2.0 host operation.
Edit: not sure where half of my post gone but try and search for 3.5 mm to type C adapter that works with other type C phones and hopefully it should work with A1

Nope never experienced any hissing. Neither on Nougat nor on Oreo. It might be because the headphones are quite of good quality or the way sound is routed via USB type C port. Or maybe I'm just deaf and can't hear any hissing noise. Or maybe I'm just lucky and my unit doesn't have such problem. I've tried other headphones with 3.5 mm jack and don't really notice much/any hissing too.
It has a 3.5 mm port then why do you want c type

Theres a hissing sound due to amplifier connected to 3.5 mm jack. That's why.
And if there's option to use type-c earphones why wouldn't you. It's a NEW thing so some users want to try it.

Neither do I.
But a lot of users are reporting it. It's a known issue. My statement was based on those users.

I got rid of the hissing sound by using an impedance adapter. I bought the Ifi Ear Buddy. It’s a little expensive unfortunately but it works.
If you rely on system equalizer, bass boost etc be careful, it won't work for USB audio.
I found something
But how can I upload ss there
However, in the developer options, We can select USB configuration.
One of them is audio source. What is this?
Mi ANC Type-C work with media but no calls
I'm using Mi ANC Type-C with Mi A1. The media playback works just fine, quality is good.
Calling is a problem. It was fine before it reset but now the phone freezes if I call with those Type-C headsets plugged in.

Did you manage to get the Xiaomi adapter working with the Mi A1? I have the same one here and it doesn't seem to work out of the box at all.
On my Mi A1 the type c from huawey P20 works great

Wired headsets not recognized by my Pixel 4

Hi everyone,
I discovered that my wired headphone is not recognized by the Pixel 4 (audio still comes out from the built-in speaker.
Then I tried the Pixel USB-C headset from my friend (he has a Pixel 3) and it worked.
I also made it work with some Bluetooth wireless earbuds (probably not relevant, sorry).
Anyone would have any idea how I can make generic standard headsets (with USB-C connector, no adaptor 3.5mm to USB-C) recognized by the Pixel 4?
Thanks a lot,
Axello

I would definitely start the troubleshooting with the your usb-c to 3.5mm dongle. Sounds for sure like you have a subpar adapter. You stated that you tried a pair of wired usb-c pixel buds and had no issues, this would rule out a faulty USB port on the phone. Get your hands on a new or different dongle and give that a try, you should be fine with a known working one.
I have 3 of them (Pixel OEM dongles) and all 3 work just fine with multiple pairs of headphones. Let me know how you make out dude.
Thanks 1dopewrx05,
Before my 1st post, I tried a standard headset USB-C (I wrote no adaptor)
By now, I have also tried another headset but with an adaptor.
I'll probably try another one later when I get one but I think it Is strange and I was wondering if there something special with the Google Pixel Bud USB-C.
Thanks,
Axello
The Google USB-C to 3.5mm is special because it has a built in AMP to power headphones connected to it. If an adapter doesn't have a built in AMP then any headphones you connect to the Pixel 4 won't work using that adapter.
This is the reason your USB-C headphones don't work, it's simply because the USB-C port on the pixel 4 doesn't provide enough power to drive your headphones.

You need an adapter (dongle) that is a digital to analog converter (DAC). Not all brands of dongle's are interchangeable with the Pixel. I purchased a dongle from Google for a Pixel 3, cost about $12.
Good luck
Hi GTOJim,
Thanks for your reply.
That must be it. My previous mobile was the HTC U12+ with USB C headsets and I also had a USB-C adaptor and I guess the HTC one was the wrong technology.
I'll check for another converter then.
Cheers,
Axello

If I remember correctly HTC's wiring in their USB-C port is a bit different for their earbuds. A year ago I had USB-C earbuds from HTC and they didn't work on 2 of my phones(Samsung and possibly Pixel?).
Thanks Charkatak!
The HTC USB-C is probably not to be re-used then.
However, my converter 3.5mm to USB-C should have worked but I guess the DAC requirement wasn't there.
I'll just get another one

From what I can tell only certain ones will work, your best option is to buy a pair that comes with the note 10, they are akg ones with usb-c connection. I've tried a random no name adaptor and it didn't work either
