Realme 2 pro 128gb version RMX1807 rom suggestions! - Realme 2 pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
All i found in the tread is for RMX1801. I'm using RMX1807 and want to change to any custom rom. Please suggest a rom for my device RMX1807 RM2PRO 128GB version.
Bootloader unlocked and installed customer recovery.
Thanks for the help in advance....

Honestly I'd suggest just stick with the stock rom. Almost every rom has som glitch or the other. Iv tried out about 4 roms by now and they are all glitchy. Instead just root the stock rom and do what ever you want with that. Just don't forget to back up the stock rom before you do anything

It's pretty simple just make sure you have the proper adb drivers and fastboot drivers installed. Once you have done that you will need the app from the realme site which wil reboot you into fastboot. Once that's done in either powershell or command prompt type the command " fastboot flashing unlock" onbyour phone two options will pop up and you will have to chose either one with the volume keys. But as soon as you unloçk the phone everything will get erased. So back up your data first. What ever you have on the internal storage.
Also if you do have fast boot installed you will have to go into the fastboot folder which should be in programe files. You have to use the command directly from inside the fastboot folder. In the fastboot folder hole shift and right click you will see command prompt. Click on that and terminal will open up then type the fastboot command. This worked for me
Hope this helps ?

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flashing unlock
...
FAILED (command write failed (No error))
finished. total time: 0.002s)
Tried too many times. Not working
For windows powershell used ./fastboot command it is also same issue

wifi Xoom 3.1 unlocking bootloader error...

I've followed all the guides to a T. and my SDK is able to run nicely. However, once I've made contact w/ my device in 'usb debugging mode', tested the connection w/ "adb devices" in command prompt, and set the device to bootloader w/ the "adb reboot bootloader" command, and finally I give it the command to "fastboot oem unlock", I get an unknown error!! Please help. I have all the path variables set, and my SDK is running good, and has all the newest updates.
This is a link to a video I made of the problem. Please watch. It'll help if you can see the problem! just copy paste into search bar - youtube.com/watch?v=2bROUZh7GRI
Thanks for your responses. I hope they come quickly!

OK, I will first say that I'm not an expert, but have gone through this process and have had to use ADB a number of times, so
1) why did you copy all the platform tools into tools folder? It should be otherway around, but clearly you have it working, so OK with that,
2) do you have all the files you need in your tools folder (since that's what you are using)?
3) are you using the proper syntax? No additional spaces where they don't belong, and so on?
4) are you getting any messages at all on the Xoom itself when you enter these commands?
5) Review all of your steps. Start over. If no luck, why not try to chat with experts on Xoom Channel on IRC? Maybe they can help you pinpoint the problem.
It doesn't seem serious but I think you've maybe missed a step in your prep work or have something simple turned around.
Good luck.
-copied to tools folder, because that's what I was directed to do... Guess it works either way.
-I do have all the files needed.
-How do I know if I'm using proper Syntax or not? that might be where I went wrong. But idk...
-No messages AT ALL on the xoom screen. (actually, 1 time out of the hundreds of times, Below the 'fastboot' words, I got red words that said cannot process command, or something like that.)

Do you know what you did to be able to unlock? I think you really have to be careful to type commands EXACTLY as shown. No extra spaces, but don't leave anything out either. Looks like commands aren't typed in correctly. Take your time. You'll do it.

I had this error followed by "unknown partition". When I tried fastboot boot recovery.img, it would say it could not access recovery. I deleted every partition and sent the device the stock imgs. Recovery would still fail.
STRANGELY ENOUGH, I rebooted my PC, unplugged the cable from the Xoom, let the device boot, changed USB debugging to on (stock unchecked it when imaged), and it took the recovery flash that time. I can't explain why, but it worked for me.

[GUIDE]Nexus 9 back to stock guide - Unbrick - Restore factory firmware

The aim of this thread is to make an easy guide to flashing stock firmware. Owners of previous nexus devices already know all this stuff, this thread is aimed at making the process as simple as possible for new users. This will work regardless of what modifications you've done to your device. Remember to backup all your important data and do this with the knowledge that all flashing activity carries some risk.
Download
Factory image here
(for windows users) Minimal adb & fastboot
(for mac users) adb & fastboot for mac
Follow the instructions to install adb on your computer.
Prepare your tablet
Enable developer options in settings > about tablet and tapping build number 7 times
Open developer options and enable usb debugging. (If you haven't unlocked your bootloader yet, tick enable oem unlock)
Extract images
Place the downloaded factory image inside your adb folder and extract with 7zip.
A new folder will be there called something like volantis-lrx21. Open and extract "image-xxxxx-zip" to your adb folder. We are interested in these files:
bootloader-flounder-xxxxxx.img
boot.img
recovery.img
cache.img
system.img
vendor.img
Place these files directly into your adb folder.
# I recommend renaming the 'bootloader-flounder-xxxxxx.img' to just 'bootloader.img' to make it easier to type.
Now that everythings set up, we can start flashing
Plug in your device. Open the adb folder, hold shift and right click and select open command window here
(if your having driver issues try using Pdanet)
Run these commands one at a time
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
if you haven't unlocked the bootloader yet run
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
and follow the instructions using the volume keys to scroll through the menu. This procedure will wipe all data.
Run the following commands one at a time
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flounder-xxxxxxx.img
[B] [I](replace 'bootloader-flounder-xxxxx.img' with full name of bootloader image[/I])[/B]
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
(OPTIONAL) At this stage you can relock the bootloader if you want by running the command
Code:
fastboot oem lock
finally reboot the device by running
Code:
fastboot reboot
Thats it. Enjoy your tablet in factory condition

There is already a flash all batch script that comes with the firmware files but I've noticed that some people have problems with it so I decided not to include it. It should work fine most of the time.
i am long-time familiar with htc,but new to nexus. i was looking thru a couple downloaded factory image files and having noticed that "rebootRUU" is an oem command, and that "image-xxxxx-zip" contains an android info document,i am curious if anyone has tried flashing image-xxxxx-zip as a zip file,in ruu mode?
Cool, thanks for the information.
Thanks for creating this! Will come in handy. Saving this for later
This has been useful as the update from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 kept failing on my rooted device. It was successful and educational.

I indeed tried this as a last chance hoping it would bypass bootloader lock protection. It didn't work since I think the factory image is not signed by HTC as RUU are . It also lead to a fastboot crash. Now sending my nexus 9 for RMA

Problem is that the tgz is too big for the device's buffer, so it craps out before it actually writes the images. Its been this way for a while over several different nexus devices. Kind of like nobody at google ever even bothered to test the process.

[GUIDE] How to Unlock the Bootloader, Flash a Factory Image, and Return to Stock

This guide will help you unlock your bootloader, flash a factory image, and return you to a stock device. It is wriiten assuming you have a windows PC (MAC users, see post 2). This can be helpful if you need to RMA your device or if you are getting erratic behavior or messed something up.
Tools and Files You’ll Need
If you don’t have adb and fastboot installed on your PC go here for a quick install of the necessary files, thanks to @Snoop05, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
For MAC users go here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32305619
For Linux users, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10746225
For the factory image go here, https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images You’ll download a .tgz file. Use winrar or 7-zip to extract the file to its own directory and remember where that directory is. Inside is another zip file, extract that too. You’ll need those image files if you use the long method to install the factory image. It’s also good to know where they are as they come in handy as you get more familiar with fastboot and what you can do with it.
How To Unlock the Bootloader
If you don’t have developer options enabled on your device go to settings, about device and tap on the build number 7 times.
In settings, developer options enable oem unlock
Now you get to use fastboot! Boot you device into the bootloader, vol up + power with your device shut off. Once booted into the bootloader connect it to your PC with the usb cable and open a command window on your PC. Once connected type the following command in the cmd window:
fastboot devices (Your device serial number should show up and this will ensure fastboot is working properly)
Then type:
fastboot oem unlock (This will unlock the bootloader and you’re now good to go)
NOTE, UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER DOES WIPE YOUR DEVICE SO BACKUP OFF YOUR DEVICE FIRST
How To Flash the Factory Image, SHORT METHOD
Open a command window on your PC in the same directory as you extracted the factory image. In that directory shift, right click in an open area and use “Open a command window here”
Boot your device into the bootloader and connect it to your PC. Then simply double click on the flash-all batch file. Note that there are batch files in there that will work for Windows as well as Linux machines
Let the batch file run and when it’s done you’ll be back to stock.
NOTE THAT FLASHING BY THIS METHOD DOES WIPE YOUR DEVICE SO MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP OFF YOUR DEVICE FIRST.
How To Flash the Factory Image, LONG METHOD
In this method each factory image is flashed separately. This should be used if you have problems with the short method and as you get more familiar with fastboot you’ll be able to flash only the images that you need for your specific requirement. For instance, you might want to only flash the stock recovery if you’re trying to take an ota and you’ve installed a custom recovery. The order that you flash the images is not important.
In the folder you extracted the factory image it’s easiest if you re-name the bootloader image file to simply bootloader and radio. Then open a Windows command window in that folder and use the fastboot commands:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot –w (NOTE, this command does wipe your device. It’s possible to flash the factory image without this command but if you’re going from different revision numbers of android it’s highly recommend to wipe the device)
Now open a Windows command window in the same folder that you extracted the zip file in, the one where you find recovery, system, etc. Then run the fastboot commands:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img [Note, flashing system takes a long time, so let it do it's thing]
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Congratulations, you’ve now flashed a factory image and learned how to use fastboot!
For MAC users, proceed each fastboot command with a ./ e.g. ./fastboot flash boot boot.img
This should be made a 'sticky'...
An excellent well written tutorial... succinct, clear and to the point.
Far better to use fastboot instead of a toolkit... Everything is more transparent, and you actually gain a better understanding of your device as a result.

Thread stuck. Great guide @jd1639!
If we get enough guides, tutorials, how to's and other great info threads.... I would suggest a "sticky roll up" thread, so too many stickies aren't created.
Food for thought.
Edit : That ^^^^ was a hint to other members to get your guides, tutorials, info threads, FAQ... Etc... Going..... This is a Nexus section after all. :silly:

It's possible that you need to update your Android SDK to the latest. There was a recent change (within last 6 months) to fastboot to allow flashing these large .img files.

Is it possible to extract the .img from the volantis-lmy47x-factory-3efdc8d4.tgz from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images and flash them individually with TWRP (with the exception of recovery.img, which I guess would over-write TWRP)? Can it this be done directly from 5.0.1 or would I need to first upgrade to 5.02?
Hi, I'm Italian so i'm sorry if my english is bad xD what happens if i flash a different kernel? Will i lose my warranty?
If yes, if i flash the factory image, will i have my warranty again?

No need top apologize. You're English if fine.
There's a lot of discussion and lack of agreement about what affects the warranty on the Nexus 9. HTC says that even unlocking the bootloader "may void the warranty".
My advice would be to do what you want to it, but make sure you understand what you are doing. Ask a lot of questions before you do something you're unsure of.
Unlock your bootloader (if you haven't already). Do not relock bootloader if something goes wrong (this does not solve anything). With an unlocked bootloader, you can recover from almost any problem.
And you can flash the Google factory images anytime you want to return to stock.
I'm sorry there's not a clear answer to your question.

Bootloader has to be unlocked to root, install custom recovery (TWRP). And note that when you unlock bootloader, it will wipe the contents of your SDcard. If you have anything important there, back it up on your PC.

Help with rooting P8-lite Ale L21 dual-sim C432B564

I have a relatively new P8-lite L21 dual sim phone and I am quite happy with it. It came with C432B170 which is Lollipop I think 5.01. After a few days it updated to B172. I have unlocked the bootloader after registering with Huawei and waiting 2 weeks. Then I have successfuly rooted the phone with Kingroot phone version. Two or three weeks ago I have updated the phone to MM (6) and Emui 4 with local update (B560) that I have gotten from this forum. 2 days ago I recieved the notification of OTA B564 which went smoothly beside the fact that it reset the phone but i have succesfully restored (contacts, data etc.) All of this time since I upgraded to MM i have tried to root the phone but I was unsuccesful either with any software solution ( Kingroot, Kingoroot or others). After reading most if not all discussions on this forum and several blogs and how -tos, I tried the so called fastboot method others have recommended but here is now the gist of my problem. My phone is seen by my PC - OK so USB drivers are properly installed (by the way my PC is Win 10) and I have installed Android SDK as well as minimal ADB. When i try to flash TWRP 3.00.2 I can not do it (the message says something about not able to access or i think remote command not allowed. So since I cannot flash TWRP i am unable to put SU on the phone and root it. I hope someone more experienced and skillfull in Android world can point me in the right direction and help me. Thank you
Download mininal adb fastboot and then try to flash twrp via fastboot.
That error occurs because your adb doesn't have full permissions.
Minimal adb will solve this.

Download mininal adb fastboot and then try to flash twrp via fastboot.
That error occurs because your adb doesn't have full permissions.

Downloaded minimal adb fastboot and installed it. Tried the procedure. Copied TWRP recovery to the minimal folder. Shift right clicked in the folder of minimal and opened command window. Adb rebooted to bootloader. Phone shows it is unlocked. The device is seen in fastboot window but flashing recovery doesn't work (same message) I am really confused. How do I give adb full permissions ?
Any way thanks in advance.

Yes of course !
Try reinstalling drivers with universal adb.
Are you sure your bootloader is unlocked?
Type fastboot devices and let me know the output.

The drivers were reinstalled. My bootloader shows unlocked on bootloader (bottom of fastboot screen). Fastboot devices does nothing. Adb devices shows my phone serial number correctly (I have it written down). But then when i try to flash recovery it is unsuccessfull. It says "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)"
What is the command that you typed..?
Fastboot flash recovery xxx.img

sorry, if you've already answered this, but you can also do it by flashify... flash the recovery image via flashify (root needed though)

I am and I have. I am stumped. Obviously something is wrong with windows permissions I think. Is it possible to put recovery. img on sd card or on phone and flash recovery from the phone ?

The thing i don't understand is why fastboot command doesn't show device while adb command does.
You said that you have android sdk too... Have you tried using that?
If it doesn't help them try to do it on other computer or reset your windows...

Weird... i can't think of anything else myself that hasn't been said. Perhaps... redownloading twrp? Maybe the image is corrupted by something... ot's a long shot because ot should flash everytging that comes its way. But it's the only thing you hven't tried.

In dire need of help to root Huawei P8 Lite.

Hi all!
First of all, Im new here, sorry if this is in wrong section (please don't delete the thread, move it to other section if needed) and that this has been posted millions of times but Im in really really dire need of help, and people told me this is best place to come to!
So here it is, I've tried countless methods and read alot of threads all over internet and nothing seem to work for me. (All info is down below just read it )
I tried with ADB and Fastboot, but where I get stuck always is with that my phone, somehow rejects new recoveries (TWRP, CWM) (???). What I mean is that when I try to start phone in a custom recovery(either holding +-volume and power button , or volume + and power or volume - and power) I get nothing(I can get him into his own recovery, but only options are to reset, shutdown and update and recovery and that is from first holding -volume and power then from fastboot and rescue mode and then by holding +volume). I got him ONCE to recovery(or whatever/however that place is called) where I can wipe partition cache and dalvik , it just stays at Huawei logo.
I tried both with scripts and with manual way where I input commands in cmd. I've bricked my phone about 4-5 times , and I know how to unbrick it with ease. What I dont know is how to get phone to take a custom recovery. And yes, I have unlocked BootLoader and followed all and every step there was in each guide I found. I tried with the most hated method (KingRoot and other kinds) but nothing.
Info you might need:
-As stated, phone is p8 lite, with marshmallow 6.0. (ALE-L21C432B584)
-BootLoader unlocked.
-I have all necessary drivers installed and all permissions on my computer for drivers to work correctly.
-Kernel Version - 3.10.86-gd9a2b44
-Yes of course I have debugging enabled everytime.
Once again, methods I have tried:
-ADB and FlashBoot
-All kinds of programs through phone (Kingroot, Iroot, KingOroot etc.. (I read that you can't root phone through this method but gave it a shot.))
-I don't remember if there was any other method to do it tbh because Ive been doing it for last 2 days and Im kinda tired and super pissed hehe.
But if I forgot/missed something of information that you need please just ask.
Sorry if there is too much of detail, I just wanted to describe my problem as perfectly as possible and as in much detail as needed.
Thank you all who will read/read (Oh the typing world) my thread I really appreciate your time and effort. All and any help regarding my problem will be tried out and appreciated ^^!
What do you mean by "rejects new recoveries" what kind of error message it gives. And you can test to download Terminal Emulator app and type "reboot recovery" if you have TWRP correctly installed it will boot into it.

I installed a twrp recovery many times and every time i start my phone to get into a recovery it doesnt want to do it , like its not there. It gives no error message it just doesnt do what its supposed to do.
I tried with terminal emulator but it says permission denied?
Edit: I reinstalled my sistem last night so I probably dont have custom recovery at all atm so terminal might not work I guess. But what I said Is what happend before.

Weird, though you must have done something wrong when installing TWRP, because it removes stock recovery. Make sure you have typed everything right. Because if you type like "flash recvery" insted of "flash recovery" it shows stuff that by quick glance might seem correct. Oh I forgot you need root to reboot with terminal emulator XD mb. Could you show what fastboot shows when you install TWRP.
Ill get on to in once im at pc and retry the process. Ill get back to you once im done with it. Following the mega rooting thread best idea?

Yeah it seems good except there is newer version of TWRP which you can use here https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/twrp-v3-1-0-cherry-kirin-620-t3572004.

That's very weird. There shouldn't be anything that could prevent it to boot recovery after installation. Could you copy and paste what fastboot tells after "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-cherry.img"

You can, but I have no idea whats wrong with your device. Though sometimes it can take like 30-60s for huawei logo to show until it goes to TWRP. This is realy weird, never heard anyone else having problem like this.

So i managed somehow to get the to twrp menu and i flashed supersu and i flashed new version of twrp . but i think thats what made it crash. Would it be ok if my phone stayed with 3.0.2.0 ver instead of getting 3.1.0.0?
Bcoz when i flashed 3.1.0.0 phone got stuck on 2nd logo and didnt reset or anything.
Thank god i know how to unbrick a phone at least hahahah
Edit: If this thread stays and people with problem like mine need help , feel free to pm me ill gladly help
yeah older TWRP is good if it works.
Though problems you got are still weird.
I had this problem ..
If you have restored your system and can access twrp recovery , download supersu v2.62 and install it .. this version worked for me after trying many ..
Every time my phone bricks i was downloading new whole system , instead try flashing it with twrp its better ..
Good luck .
