Transparent Lock Screen Notifications - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Hi, I went googling regarding this... I recall sometime a few months back, there was a time when notifications went transparent for awhile.
I found some stuff on Reddit regarding this... though people were actually complaining about it
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/e3kg5e/lock_screen_notifications_transparent/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pixel3a/comments/ddjf4l/transparent_notifications_i_randomly_had/
They said it appeared randomly before/after a security update, but then that was that.
Is there any way to get that back? Is it a mod that can be done? Changing the alpha on the notifications?

Silent notifications

This has happened to me three times now, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it, or knows a fix. Basically what happens is, none of my notifications play their sounds, even though my phone is not set to silent, and my notification volume is set to max.
Sent from my Vibrant using the XDA app.

just noticed this happening to me today.....strange...
Same here, I noticed it a couple days ago. I have the following mods: Stock Lock Screen, LP, Beautiful Widgets, Root. I've gone into settings and tried selecting and deselecting Silent Mode and nothing changes. I can reboot the phone and the notification sounds come back. The BW Silent Widget is the culprit. All other ways act normal.

[Q] Android Lollipop interruption time length

Hello everybody,
Kinda new to this site, but not new to android. There is one question that has been bothering me for a couple of weeks now. I did search the Galaxy Note 3 forums but did not find an answer to my question.
So here's the situation. A couple of weeks ago I updated my N9005 to the unbranded Polish version of android lollipop, seeing as my country had not yet received the update.
I love the firmware, but there is one aspect of it that is, at times, quite bothersome. I am talking about the interruptions that pop up in the top of the screen as a white bar. I am running the stock firmware and it is rooted, and my problem is that these interruptions, in my opinion, take far too long to disappear.
The actual question I have is if there is a way, either through the settings menu or through editing some system files, to change the length of time these interruptions remain on screen? I'd love for them to disappear, like, twice as fast. I do not want to dismiss them either, because that removes the actual notification from the pull-down menu.
Can anyone on here help me? Thanks in advance.

Notifications do not always clear

I feel like I am the only one out there with this issue, but it has happened with a whole slew of SMS apps, and on several different Rom's including stock. What happens is when I get a text message, and i respond to it in the quickly reply or heads up notification the notification does not clear unless I pull back down and either swipe it away or just pull down on the notification shade and put it back up.. I'm sure of this could be the App but not all of it..
Anyone else out there experiencing it? Or is it just some feature that is new and i hate.. ?
Currently I'm on OctOS 7.0 using Genie SMS app. But this has happened on just about every SMS app and several other roms.
FWIW problem resolved in 7.1 at-least on the pixel build with uberstock

Galaxy S8 Notifications not working on Oreo Update

I recently updated to Oreo on the Sprint network on my S8 and now all my badge icons have disappeared and I cannot get them to work. Regardless of the app or what settings I turn on the badges do not work. I'm also not getting any edge lighting notifications when the screen is turned off. I have tried hard reboots and still nothing. This is very disappointing as I was hoping the update was going to fix all these issues. Any suggestions to help fix these issues would be appreciated.
Do not complain if U didn't do a factory reset after update.
It's a must on samsung devices after a major update. Sadly.
I have managed to fix this somehow.
I was a trying a few things and have basically managed to wipe my home screens. So need to set up icons and widgets again. It's quite cathartic...
The upshot is that Badge icon notifications are working again.
I think deleting the cache and memory for the Samsung Home Experience and a restart fixed it
Good Luck

Not quite working as it was!
I now get the numbered badge icons which was not the case post upgrade.
However they disappear if and when the notifications are cleared. Very annoying!
I'm also having issues when the notifications.
If I clear the notification bar it clears the badges on the apps. Also if you enter an app that has a bafge, don't read the message the badge still disappears.
I'm fairly confident that wasn't the case before the update.
Edit: sorry, reply to a wrong post.
Factory reset, OR a new phone don't fix it. I've tried both, 4 trips to AT&T, 2 new S8 actives later... still an issue. Samsung tech support (4xs) says it's a software issue and won't be fixable. They tell me to "just wait for the update to fix it." Super annoying they can't get their $#!* together and fix it.

{solved} swiping notifications locks screen

when swiping notifications from notifications panel using right to left swipe gesture to dismiss notification, the device goes to lock-screen (gets locked), interestingly this doesn't happen when swiping from left to right to dismiss notification. This has been around since 8.1 released for mia1, i have been waiting for any ota to fix this but this hasnt happened yet so i felt to report the situation. The reproduction rate isnt 100% but it does happen often so be patient while addressing this bug
Steps to reproduce
1. swipe down to get to the notifications panel
2. dismiss a few notification using RIGHT TO LEFT swipe
3. profit
Reproduce rate-50%
i have posted the bug to miformus to, feel free to give your opinions there too. Here's the link to the bug report - http://in.miui.com/thread-465-1-1.html
update: substweaks is behind this, i'll grab a log and report to the dev. What happened was system ui used to crash while swiping notifications in a specific manner as mentioned when substweaks overlays are installed, this ui crash instantly brings the ui to lock screen.
So you are on stock without any modification?

So yes report bug and wait as you're not even rooted
I've just dismissed 30 notifications right to left and then 30 left to right, screen didn't lock a single time. Probably something on your phone doing it..?
okay thanks for input guys, i am pretty sure substratum is behind this, substweaks to be accurate.
