Downgrading Without Unlocking Bootloader? - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Questions & Answers

I was searching downgrade method for Nokia 6.1 Plus iam using Android 10
And i found this method of Nokia 8
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/how-to/how-downgraded-pie-to-oreo-t3888178/amp/
I need some experts advice for this
Is it safe to use this method on Nokia 6.1 plus?
If it's safe what are the proper steps to follow?

Mainly I was planning to downgrade because of Gcam is not working in android 10
Hmd blocked all the free ways to downgrade and unlock bootloader
I mainly purchased this device for Gcam and Custom ROMs

Nokia highly concern about security
.. that's The reason why they dont allow BL unlock.

You're are right but Unlocking Bootloader and installing Custom Rom is users choice if he is agreed to take a risk of Unlocking Bootloader and install custom rom he should be allowed to do that
On the other hand Xiaomi India is allowing it's users to unlock bootloader without losing warrenty

Here is the full ota for pie for Nokia 6.1 plus. Some users were able to downgrade following that tutorial but try at your own risk. Don't forget to wipe data after installing.

Failed to boot it. Tried by flashing via the terminal. Maybe thats because of locked bootloader. Dont know.
So devs help me with it and unlocking bootloader. Also tried to unlock it. Even got a global beta test firmware but faled to unlock.

Ok, thank you very much for your patience to answer, I think I will wait until after the AOSP stable, now I can't normal use this AOSP, because it's too many bugs, cause I have to use Flyme, because I am in China, so Flyme is good to use, Root and Xposed have already done, I can easily modify Flyme, but things can change very little, thank you again for you, please forgive my poor English.
Really ,Guys i am****ed up with this tries i tried all but fastboot oem unlocking not possible .if it is pls let me know as fast as possible ..thank you ..
Hello, some news?

Can't unlock bootloader

I have tried to unlock it as suggested by oneplus and it will not do anything.
I go into fastboot mode after installing the drivers on my PC confirmed I can see my device and when I executed unlock it did wipe my phone but didn't unlock the bootloader.
Anyone knows why it doesn't work or what I'm doing wrong?
BTW I have updated to marshmallow manually. This phone was never unlocked or rooted.
Thanks in advance.

Best bet, run the usual restore to Lollipop factory image using the guides on this forum, and then try to unlock. It will probably work then. You should have unlock before you installed the experimental beta release of Marshmallow ?

Thanks, I'm going to Google it and try it out. I wasn't planning on unlocking it but when I saw that cm13 got the fingerprint scanner working I decided to do it as I miss my opo with cyanogen. I didn't expect to run into this issue as I have unlocked many phones before without any problems.

And remember you have to flash recovery compatible with your OOS3 bootloader version.

Had twrp issue myself.
Had to flash hybrid twrp flash oos2 to change bootloader and then update twrp via image flash for it to take.
All good now but bit of chore to do.
Look on the forum page and there is an all in one tool to assist you.
Hope this helps!

Here's how I got mine to finally work. I flashed back to LP and than fastboot erased and flashed twrp 2.0.7 or one of the older LP ones. Try that.. That's how I got it anyway. I also downloaded a fresh one.. Not sure if that did anything but.. If you try and fastboot boot the recovery and get a btb error( I was) I was told that the boot IMG was messed up to get that error? Don't know.
Wow after 2 hours of softbrick I got it to work, did my nand backup and now going to look for a good cm13 rom.
I had to get a certain twrp recovery I found on YouTube and not the latest version from their website.

I would advise the opposite. If someone can get an OTA update.zip then a customized zip that does NOT wipe out recovery could be created. I am curious if they lose fastboot but am 90% certain they also will. It seems to be the direction Alcatel is going.
I honestly am getting better performance/service out of my $60 ZTE Zmax2 than my Idol3 nowadays with the exception of not having root.

My Nokia 5 has the same OEM-Unlock developer option as my Nexus 5x.
Never had such a barebones android device, nearly boring
Bootloader becomes unlockable through an option on developer settings, and the pure android approach will help developers
If my bootloader is unlocked, how and where can I get eg. TWRP Recovery for my Nokia 5?
You will have to wait until there is an un/official TWRP released. Which you will surely find here first.

On the Nokia 6 the OEM bootloader unlock button doesn't really work. The bootloader is not really unlocked.
There's also no bootloader unlock in the Nokia 3. < That guy got his XDA account suspended for posting spam crap instead of real stuff.
Probably same with the Nokia 5. Nokia has locked the bootloader down on all of this year's Androids unless anyone can prove otherwise.
If you arrow up out of those topics to the broader Nokia 6, and Nokia 3 Android forums, you will see there's no bootloader unlock, no TWRP recovery, no ROMs, not even any real root.
Remember, if it's not here on XDA it's not real. It will be here first. There's tons of scam/malware websites that will urge you to download crap and promise bootloader unlock and UNICORNS, but don't do it.
EDIT: for the Nokia 6, two days ago someone has CLAIMED to be able to root and install TWRP bypassing the LOCKED DOWN bootloader. It seems complicated and it's not been verified yet as of this date.

Nokia has locked the bootloader down on all of this year's Androids unless anyone can prove otherwise.

i have ported TWRP for Nokia 6, not sure does it work or not as i do not own this particular device
edit: i wouldn't try that TWRP installation method as it says "brush brush method" what ever that even is!? atleast not before someone can actually confirm it works
IIRC someone have a Nokia 6 Chinese using global rom. They flash them in edl mode. So can we use that to bypass the bootloader?
This is the reply that I got from Nokia Care... Conclusion - they don't have a clue.

disappointing
I was really keen on buying it, and if the phone is not rootable then there is no point in buying it.
hope NOKIA team is reading this and they realize the importance of having an unlockable bootloader.

In my opinion we should bomb them with these kind of questions so that they understand that they should let us unlock the bootloader if we want to...

There a secret debug tool in the phone, just open the Dialer app and type *#*#DBGTOOL#*#*. Wonder if it helps
Did anyone got Root on our Nokia Devices?
