Getting reed of Google in my OPOne with LIneage 16+microG and still is Google in it. - LineageOS News & Discussion

Hello there.
Thanks so much to all the people and developers out here.
First of all , to say that I am trying as much as I can to get out of Google Therms and Conditions (but I love to keep using Android, and I know that Android is develop from Google, and I also know that before Google, Android was existing too, ....anyways).
I just got install LineageOS plus microG , and everything was beautyful and great until I find out that the custom ROM is using the call, smsing, contacts, browser, calendar, email and maybe some other one that now I cant find, from Android, so means that still that apps are connected to Google, cause I click about sms , for example, and then privacy , and it redirect me through google search motor to a Google privacy and Therms ???
And one thing that I have got more impress is that the call app , I cant even stop it or disable it. Anyone can tell me why?
And going deeper in LineageOS , I have experience that are some other issues that I cant really disable in the system.
I just decide to use Signal instead of sms. Brave instead of Android browser.
So I will love to get an alternative to have my contacts in the telephone, and maybe more suggestions of other apps.
And is it possible to get reed of phone Android app somehow, or is something that Google force to use??
Thanks for reading it.
PS- I was just gonna submit my post and then reCAPTCHA pops up and tell me to press in some pictures. Is it a support for AI that are we giving this data for free so they can develop better robots for the future??

yeah
I just find out that there is an app called Contacts in F-Droid that belongs to simplemobiletools, and seems awesome. it alloweds me also at makes calls, so I can dissable phone from Android. Step by step and getting there. Thanks for all that has read the post.

Is anybody else annoyed that the mobile Google Earth app is only for iPhone?

What's the point of Google having its own mobile platform if they give one of their coolest apps exclusively to their competitor? I know that Google likes to make their services available on as many platforms as possible, but it would be nice if they would at least announce that an Android version is in the works. I'm totally jealous.
I don't have any problem with iPhone getting streetview, I'm not being anti-iPhone or anything, I just get ticked off that Google developed this awesome app and DIDN'T bring it to Android.

I agree, but I have a feeling that they've been working on that for a while. I'm sure the Android version will be along before too long.
Yeah... I can't even believe that. I'm even more bummed that google maps seems to be more limited than it was on my Blackberry. On the BB you could find a store and go to a "details" page where you could get info like store hours, etc.
That and I'm REALLY not happy with the cut/paste process in its current form. ;-)
Ive seen the earth view and its not all that kool.... it jus zooms in automatically then lets u surf over houses etc..... u cant look at a front door like our street maps... dont know y everyones mad the g1 dosnt have it plus the g1 is still new be patient : )
well if you want to get technical...
Android doesn't have full use of Google Docs.
Doesn't have apps for Blogger or Picasa.
But, like everything else Google, I'm sure they're working on integration.
If we were supposed to wait until all those services were ready the phone wouldn't be available until 2010, and it would probably cost twice as much.
when you try to going to google earth from browser in clasic google website ,and select street view ,the phone show you that need adobe flash player 9, for that can show streetview with the picture of the street

jeez people lol i mean the G1 is just the first device with android os, you cant get upset with google if google decides to put their fingers in everything. G1 is one fo the coolest phones out right now and it will only get better, u can count on that. Google wont let you down. i just hope a g2 doesnt come out anytime soon otherwise i would pretty much be mad at that point lolz

Go to Google Maps, type something, like Pizza Hut, a ton shows up, pick one, it shows up on the map, like this: <-Pizza Hut-> tap the name that's on the map, it'll bring up Details on the store, name, address, phone, url, etc..

google +??

Does anyone know when there will be a google+ app for windows 7 phones? Im starting to use it more and more and i havent been able to find anything in the market.
Yes, I need it. wait google
i don't think google will really press for a g+ app. They want to promote their OS not help others stay on a competitior. It will take a very long time.

Google Assistant Force Closing

Here is the problem, and I have been looking on various sites and forums but thought I would take a peek on XDA and surprised that there isn't much chatter about it in here so wanted to start this thread.
For a few months now I cannot access "Google Now" .
I am running a Rooted Sprint Note 3 and still using Josh's KitKat Killer. Its a GREAT ROM and had been working fine until about Decemberish. Whenever I click on the Google Now Cards, or press the Google App Icon, I get a brief opening of the page with Weather Map and Events etc. but as soon as it loads it crashes out.
I can access a pure voice command search through my Widget to set an alarm, get the weather etc...
I cant help but Note (get it? NOTE!!! Ha!!) but it would seem to have happened at the same time Google Assistant broke onto the scene en masse back in December or so. Coincidence??? hmmmmmmmmmm
I have another phone that also had this problem, (Galaxy S4 Running Lollipop) and quite honestly couldn't get Google to work until I flashed a Nougat ROM and launched the new Google Assistant. I wonder if they are tired of supporting these older phones and are going to force people to up their game by making them upgrade to Nougat phones.
I have seen lots and lots and lots of 'help' sites talk about how if you 'Clear Cache/Uninstall/Re-install/Update' etc that it will work. That is A LIE! And don't talk to me about using the Google Now Launcher (which I am not that thrilled with) because that does not even seem to make a difference either. I have been, and currently using Nova Launcher. The whole process of Install/Uninstall/Install only works once then as soon as it gets a chance to load the data you are back to being screwed. It wont even stay open long enough to access the page to delete/alter/change settings. Very very frustrating.
I cant believe there inst rioting in the streets from millions of disgruntled Google users!!!!
So now I am just not using it. I'd like to but until then it is a hearty HELLO to S-Voice I guess.

Google ending support for Android Market on Android 2.1 and lower

Looks like no more market for pre-NGP devices.

Thanks for posting this. I wondered when the final axe would fall. Well, it's simpler if GApps are not installed anyway and it was getting more and more temperamental. All the more reason for people to share packages of apps that they are using which work well on the device so we can side-load them. They can't take that away!
Does anyone know if this will affect the license check-in for paid apps? :/
Wondering about Titanium Backup Pro especially, it seems to check in on almost every boot. It would suck if we couldn't use it on the Nook Touch anymore, even though there are some clumsy alternatives.
Oops! Tried installing the 1337 ROM from 9th April 2015... No support for Android Market makes the rom unusable
Definitely backup your entire device + your original recovery before installing clockworkmod or 1337 ROM
I will now rever to stock and probably use Nook Manager to root the stock ROM.
Such a shame, I was super excited ot try out what seemed to be the best NST ROM out there
If it wasn't for ending the support for google apps, it might have been a great improvement, oh well...
Anyone with similar experience?

July 2 and I can still use SearchMarket and install market apps....wonder if working installations are going to continue hobbling along?
Seems like it's gone for me. The market search function at least. The gmail app still works though.
How would you go about unlinking the NST from a google account all together?
It's not registered in the google device manager online, so I can't unlink it there.
I'm worried that things will start to wrong now when the framework is not supported anymore.

I'm surprised your gmail works. I could never keep mine going. It would retrieve mail OK but would only send for a few days and then have to be reinstalled to work for a few more days.
The only concern I have is GoogleBooks, but so far it's OK. I'm not sure you need Market access to sync mail or books, but down the line these older applications may be rejected as security concerns. Time will tell.
So far I see no sign of weirdness.
Edit: OK, today (July 4) my NST is officially independent of the Market. No server contact. However, Google Books still works at this point. I'm not sure you should do anything. You could uninstall SearchMarket but that's about it. After all, lots of people are signed into Google on various devices to get mail but do not access the PlayStore. Famous last words
I have disabled both MarketUpdater.apk and Vending.apk (found in /system/app) by renaming them as *.OLD. After a reboot I have seen no problems running the few apps I had actually obtained from the PlayStore or those I side-loaded. Note I do not have any for-pay apps.
It may be possible to also disable Talk.apk and any adjuncts as this is used to interface with the Market, but I'm not there yet. A good goal would be to quiet down any behind-the-scenes activity by apps that can't connect any longer but keep trying to phone home just to be sure. At the same time I'm trying to maintain sync capability so that, for example, Google Books will continue to work for as long as possible. This, it seems to me, is the only remaining reason to bother with the GApps package at all since Google Sync is enabled with it.
Hello everyone. A few days ago i took my phone wich was lying around in the dust (x10 mini pro). Happily switched on, connected to internet and hit on market, just to realize this happened.
So, is there some market for 2.1-update? I was thinking about F-droid, but, how about this?
PD: sorry for my english

Google apps

Originally I was excited to go vanilla Android OS but as I continue to run into DUMB limitations of Google apps such as Google Calendar I begin to question my decision.
A few examples:
Google SMS app - cannot multi delete pieces of a conversation. There are other irritents as well.
Google Calendar app - cannot copy and paste an event.
Multiple Google apps - no option to not use the psudo analog clock to set time for alarms and events. For me this method is difficult to use AND I have been trying to get used to it.
I have replaced Google SMS app with Verizon but I am looking for a better replacement.
Google Calendar I am still looking for a replacement.
It seems Google apps are only partially implemented.
Suggestions?
I use Next SMS, but people also like Textra or Chomp.

This free/no ads sms & mms app is great too!

Google apps are only partially implemented. This is typical Google. They finish everything 75% of the way. Textra is probably the best SMS/MMS solution. Lots of calendars in the Play Store as well. I'd look into what's offered.
I am beginning to wonder if that is how they do Android as well...

Pretty much.
Android OS is an "Open System". Unlike other OS, if we don't like any system apps then we can download and install any of other apps that we like.
Just frustrated and letting off a little steam. I have always used Verizon Samsung Sx products in the past and looked over the shoulder of iPhone users. Trying to get Essential to that level of functionality and perhaps gimmickry (text and enhanced voicemail apps) have me pulling my hair out as I fail every time.
If you want an iPhone, buy an iPhone. Of course the price of this phone on promo is probably the finance charge of one of the latest Apple devices.

I have never owned an iPhone and I never will. I just admire their software polish. I despise their total control concept. That is why I have an Essential phone...
"Google Calendar app - cannot copy and paste an event."
This would be good. It does have some good repeat options though, including custom. I have used this to good effect with my 3 on/3 off work schedule, which I couldn't find in other apps. I have requested the copy/paste through the app, you should too.
Another thing, log into your Google account on a computer, your calendar is a little different and has some other options, including duplicate events.
