DTEK50 Mep Code? For unlock - BlackBerry DTEK50 Questions & Answers

I want to unlock this phone from Vodafone, the unlock services are asking for a MEP code.
They say its listed beind the battery (not keen t pull it apart), in a secret menu but instuctions relate to Blackberry OS device not Blackberry android or using MEP reader. I've tried the reader with no luck, the BB drivers are installed, the software looks old and I'm on Win 10 so may the issue?
Anyone know how to get the MEP code or reader working?

CoPilot v8 activation problem solved!

Just a warning for anybody trying to buy CoPilot offline-GPS: I was not able to activate my license (worked fine on my previous HTC Hero). Support says:
Thank you for contacting CoPilot Technical Support.
Unfortunately Copilot is not supported Android 2.1 at this time.
If you have any further questions, or feel that this incident has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to bring this to our attention.

I understand that you want your NAV maps locally on you memory card. I feel the same way and I hope CoPilot is 2.1 compatible soon.
You can get unlimited data from T-Mobile without a contract. Their "Even More Plus Plan" has unlimited data and texting starting at $59. per month. Of course if you are just there for a week it isn't really worth it.
After a fruitless wait for any help from the support, I debugged the problem further. I had already maps downloaded from a previous installation. Deleting (or renaming) the /sdcard/copilot directory let me reinstall copilot. Its now working fine.
even deleting / renaming the /sdcard/copilot directory, i'm getting invalid library - copilots code cannot be loaded by the system.
It may not be supported on the N1 yet but Copilot most definitely does (or can) work. Copilot Live 8 has worked on my N1 since the day I received the phone. I did not do anything special, just put in my card from my G1 (with maps already) and then entered my order # the first time I kicked up the app.
It has worked for me ever since, no problems. Whether google navigation is better than copilot is also really a matter of opinion. I prefer copilot personally.

Went through these same steps, with no luck
invalid library probably has nothing to do with the maps. it would involve the installation of the ndk component of the application. Honestly I would expect it not to work, but it does for me. No idea why.
I have not unlocked the phone yet... have either of you?
CoPilot work on both 2.1 and the N1, I have been using it since day 1. If a few people are having problems with it ok but you should change the thread title as its misleading and untrue.

T-mobile 3g is not available everywhere...A program like Copilot will allow you to use gps without any internet.
There's a video of N1 running coPilot on youtube.

Hmm I have installed it successfully and downloaded my maps, but it does not detect my GPS (yes it is activated in phone settings).
In fact it seems to detect it, but does not get any signal (the GPS icon does not appears in the notification bar, like when I'm using Maps)

Works perfectly on my N1.. biggest issue I had was transferring the licence from Windows Mobile to Android, which CoPilot said was possible but didn't say how.
Eventually I found a downloadable installer, installed that and copied the maps to my SD card and it activated and worked fine.
Works fine for me... the title of this thread should be changed as its an untrue statement.
CoPilot v8 problem solved!
It seems my problem was that I had an extra map license. After the support manually de-activated the extra map license on my previous phone, I could now activate it again on the N1.
Note that I followed the FAQ and deactivated my copilot license on my old phone:
Q. I'm going to buy another device in a month's time, can I move CoPilot Live 8 to another device?
A. You can move your CoPilot Live v8 license from a Windows Mobile or Android smartphone to another Windows Mobile or Android Smartphone. Simply deactivate your license by selecting Menu > Settings > Licensing. You can then re-install CoPilot Live on the different phone. Please note you cannot move a CoPilot Live v8 license from or to an iPhone.
If you only have the CoPilot license (no extra maps) then this will suffice to move to a new phone.

Did you move it from Windows Mobile to Android though? It seemed to be a pain to do this, because of the lack of help from CoPilot.
Im confused about what he says on the description on the app...Something about not being able to use for 10 days after payment? Whats all that about?

No I moved from HTC Hero to the Nexus One. At least in principle you don't need any help from support, just deactivate your license on the old phone and re-activate on the new phone. All you need is internet access and the serial number.

[Q] What can I do on WP7 without activation?

I'm thinking about flashing WP7 but don't want to bother with activation and Live Services. I'm planning to dual boot WP7 with Android on SD. But I'd like to play with WP7. So what can I do with WP7 WITHOUT activation? Here are what I'm interested: Phone, Text (SMS), Music (Zune), Web, GPS (Navigation), Camera (and Camcorder). Do all of these work?
Thanks

I used it for the whole of today and Phone, Text, Web and Camera/Camcorder worked perfectly.
Haven't tried Zune or GPS.
Thanks for your answer. Has anybody tried Zune and GPS?
music & videos work. gps haven't fully tried yet.
Tested GPS, fast and accurate. Bluetooth also pairs well with parrot bt car kit.
Do we need to go through the unlocking procedure? Do we need to run Chevron after flashing WP7? And can we install third-party(non-market) application on the phone?
All questions reflect on not activating live service.
Thank all the help,
10507
Unlock it with Chevron and install applications manually.
You can even install apps from the Marketplace (free ones) downloading to the PC first and use "WP7-DesktopMarketplace_1.4.0.0.zip" (search XDA), to deploy the apps into your phone.
I flashed it yesterday, played a little bit trying to get WP7 and Android booting from SD, and after 6 hours went back to WM 6.5. Somehow WP7 looks too simple for my taste, a bastard child between an IPhone and Android , it may suit simpler users, but I missed the control that you have on Windows Mobile.

Win7 is very compatible, even with old hardware, just install and run windows update or use a program like Driver Genius, You could also try a stripped down version if you have low ram on the lappy.
Either that or upgrade your hardware.

[Q]bypass this auto-loading screen

Recently I bought from eBay a symbol pdt8146, the device is coming with Pocket PC 2002 OS. The unit most probably was owned by UPS as the device load an application (App Manager v.1.11) and locked me out the windows. I need to access to CF in order to upgrade the OS.
Does anyone know how to bypass this auto-loading screen?

enable live

hello developers,
I have succesfully installed WP7 on my HD2, but Live isn't working.
I've heard to enable that function you need an activation key.
Were I live Windows won't give me an key, because the HD7 (on which the OS for my HD2 is based) is never introduced here...
Does anyone knowes how to get this key though?
Ask MicroSoft!!!
Call Microsoft and ask for activation code, say that your smartphone HD7
They finally did gave me a code, so it is kind a working right now...
