Samsung pay on watch when rooted - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a new one plus 8 pro and I am rooted. I also have a Galaxy watch and when I install Samsung pay on the watch it says call customer service device has been compromised even though I have magiskhide for all the Samsung modules. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working?
Thank you in advance...

I have the same problem. Completely stock. So I wonder if it's a Samsung issue. I had the 6t rooted and I was able to use Samsung pay without any problems

Okay, I think I found the answer. In magisk settings, you need to rename the package to something else. It is the third option down in settings. After I change the name it worked like a charm and of course you have to hide the for Samsung modules in magiskhide...

Is this still working for you? It's definitely not working on my end with my Pixel. The newest Magisk Manager also does not allow you to select any apps to hide, it's a simple toggle on or off for Magisk Hide and renaming the Magisk Manager didn't do anything.
Did you have to reboot after the rename?

UPDATED Post : see next post for my solution that worked.
Hi aaronc_98,
Hope this is actually still working for you on your OP8 Pro!
When you say you need to rename the package, what are you referring to exactly?? The Samsung Pay app or Hide the Magisk App (renaming) in App settings?
Please provide more details on a step-by-step process you did to make it work on your OP device...if still working.
I have OP6T and it has stopped working recently and can't find a way to get back.
My setup:
OP6T, OOS 10.3.11
Galaxy Watch 46mm, latest OS installed (Jun 15, 2021)
Galaxy Wear App, SPAY Watch Plugin up to date. (Jun 15, 2021).
Thanking you in advance!

UPDATE,
Got it all to work!
Preparation:
- Install Galaxy Wearable
- Update Watch to the latest
- Install SP Watch Plugin (do not launch it at all)
Magisk Setup:
- Hide the following apps in MagiskHide: Hit the shield, Hit "MagiskHide" and select the apps:
a) Google Play Services
b) Samsung Health
c) SP Watch Plugin
* You can add banking apps here as well

Next, recommend hiding the Magisk App itself for the setup. Here is how to do it:
- Hit "Settings" (within Magisk App)
- Hit "Hide the Magisk App" (I used MGKSettings).
Magisk will accept it and repopulate itself.
For good measure, I rebooted my device to recovery (TWRP in my case) wiped "Dalvik / ART Cache" and rebooted to system.
Once rebooted, go to the SP Watch Plugin App INFO (Do not launch the App), got to Storage & Cache & Clear Storage & Cache (should be 0 on both) for good measure!
Launch Galaxy Wear and (Strongly Recommended) scroll down to setup Samsung Pay and follow the steps. **(I don't recommend doing the SPay setup through the Watch Plugin.)**
If you get a notice within 10 seconds saying that the device is not secure (can't remember the message), you may have missed something and you need to start over with clean install of the SP Watch Plugin (storage & cache cleared).
Worst case they may have updated the Samsung Pay, Samsung Health Apps & OOS and it's been blocked again. Therefore we would need to restart the whole process from scratch or find another workaround.
PS. Some of you would probably like to restore or Un-Hide the Magisk App, so I went ahead and did it....so far SPay seems to be working. I have not reboot my device neither, which I rarely do. (I have rebooted my device several times since this post)
For any reason, in the coming days, there is an issue of any kind, I will report back here. If not, it's all good!
Hopefully this can help some of you out there!

worked for me, thanks a lot

Service provider update restart to configure features ?

After i installed a exposed module called Xtouchwiz for the AT&T model and i restarted my phone this keeps popping up on my screen " Service Provider update , Your device will restart to configure features supported by the new sim card" but no sim card is added ? How can i change this ?
I too, am getting this message, but only when my SIM is inserted. It reboots into recovery....
you have to unroot and restore the device to the stock version

Hi @Raz12 and @rodin95.
I have also got this problem after flashing the G930U firmware and later inserting my SIm card. I have also just installed Exposed, so not sure if this could be the cause. Did either of you have any success solving the issue?

Well sadly i just had to restore everything back in odin and not install that xposed module. I'm scared to install anything xposed until it's a easier way to flash without restarting over.
@ghter - As @Raz12 mentioned, I had to do the same thing and restore everything back and not install xposed.
are you guys using the ATT or Unlocked Samsung versions of the S7/S7 Edge? i'm on ATT using a S7 Edge DUOS with the XTouchWiz installed and have not received any message about updates. Thanks
I am having the same issue. I uninstalled xposed and all the modules and cleared cache and I am still getting the notification. I removed the sim so I can kinda use the phone. Is the only way to fix it is to reinstall firmware?

basically :|
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FACTORY RESET!!
My phone is a Galaxy S7 running the G930U Firmware on Verizon. I also received this warning after installing XTouchWiz. I was unable to use my phone as each time it booted up, it would greet me with the the following message:
"SERVICE PROVIDER UPDATE - Your device will restart to configure features supported by the new SIM card"
....even though I had not installed a new SIM card. Anyways, this is how I was able to regain access to my phone after this nuisance:
Just enter adb shell, and enter the following commands:
adb shell
su
pm list packages -e | grep 'AutoPreconfig'
pm disable com.sec.android.AutoPreconfig

After that, you may wish to go to the following directory and delete the actual apk:
/system/priv-app/AutoPreconfig/
Find the AutoPreconfig.apk package and either delete it, or just rename it to something your Android doesn't recognize. The advantage to renaming it is that if for some reason you do end up needing it, you still have the file and you can just rename it back to stock.

Glad I could help. I remember how incredibly frustrating that was when it happened to me. Glad to hear you're back up and running again.
Sorry to resurrect, but I thought it worth noting that you can freeze AutoPreConfig app with Titanium Backup.
I upgraded from version Q10 to version S05. First stockRom and then I installed rom s05 and magisk 25.2, everything is working wonderfully. I'm having difficulties installing Xposed Edge Pro 7.01. When starting it, the message appears that the module is not active. I installed Lsposed and managed to activate it within Lsposed but when running Xposed Edge Pro 7.01 it still appears that the module is not active yet. Which is to enable it within the xposed installer. I INSTALLED riru-v26.1.6.r527.cdcb9f34c6-release.zip and MAGISK 25.2 shows me that the Riru module is suspended because Zygisk is active. I also don't know if Riru is necessary to be installed and activated to Xposed Edge Pro 7.01 work. Could anyone help me how I can make Xposed Edge Pro 7.01 work on this ROMS05? I'd like also to install and Active the Riru module in Magisk because many modules need of Riru.

Downgrade Always On Display for more themes !

ROOT is required (Only for android 6 marshmallow )
I have a galaxy A7 2017 , and the Always On Display is good , but not enough... it only contain 2 clock themes and 1 calendar theme.
The S7 contain 11 clock themes and 2 calendar themes.
The A series 2017 come with AOD(always on display) version 1.7.85 , so if you downgrade AOD to version 1.7.34 you will get additional themes and customization !
Instructions:
•Download App Downgrader (ROOT) by Dev-Alex193a from the play store .
•Download AOD 1.7.34 apk from Apkmirror and put it in your internal storage .
•Open App Downgrader and grant Root .
•Select AOD 1.7.34 apk from internal storage (if you are android 6+ Allow App downgrader to access storage in app permission).
•Click Downgrade and wait between 15 seconds and 1 minute.
If you get a blue check mark that means it worked. :victory:
If the app is still loading after 1 minute, exit the app and try again,
And if it didn't work again that means you can't downgrade (sorry)...
Pros :
* 11 clock themes and 2 calendar themes !
* 3rd party notification is working .
Cons :
*After every reboot the AOD will upgrade automatically (restoring to the original version)
You have to re-Downgrade on every Reboot.(if you find any solution to this problem please tell me).
*Double tapping on notifications on AOD won't open the app.
This is my first post on xda, so sorry if i did anything wrong .
I can't post the links for the apps because xda rules : "To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Interesting, hope samsung will bring more themes with official 7 update...
I cannot believe Samsung so severely gimped this feature in an update. Thank you so much for the tip! It worked without a hitch, and my AOD looks so much more beautiful now.
Thank you so much!!!
I don't have a rooted phone but do you know if it's being updated through the Galaxy apps app? If so you can open Galaxy Apps, tap the three dots, Open Settings and select never auto update. The other way is to disable Galaxy apps altogether using BK Disabler or uninstall it.
can you install themes on the aod with this method ????
I found a way to not have to reinstall after reboot. Just follow the steps above only uninstall always on display before downgrading it. You need an system app uninstaller for this
The reason why aod has to be reinstalled on every boot, is because when you downgrade the app, it becomes a user app and not a system app. so to fix this, just use any tool that can make any user app a system app to make aod a system app, and then you won't have to reinstall aod on every boot.

@nekos95
open a root explorer and go to system/priv-app/AOD service(back up this folder
just in case you want to revert) and delete AOD apk and then replace it with the one you downloaded from APK Mirror.
give the right permissions if needed 0644(check the three vertical boxes below READ and the first box below WRITE.
reboot and your done.if you want to revert back copy your backup file in system/priv-app again and reboot.

Just updated to OOS 9.0.3 I need help now...

As the title says, I just updated to OOS 9.0.3 and it's so different from the old one i'm really scared to try anything and risk to brick the phone...
I have several problems with the phone (nothing too scary thankfully) and I was thinking some of you could help here.
1) Nova Launcher isn't working properly. When I try to see the apps menu (where all the apps icons are displayed) it just doesn't show up, instead i just see the background and the apps can be seen just a bit in the upper part.
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, I can touch the screen and the apps open where the icons should be... I tried to update nova, but the apk gives me the "app not installed" error and I'm not sure why.
2) Not rooted. I want to root the phone. I had it rooted before the update, but considering the last time i tried to root the phone without looking exactly what to do all my memory got wiped, I need to know exactly how to install Magisk and TWRP without bricking the phone or deleting anything... I have a method already that works, but I'm not sure with this now.
3) Is it possible to change the "recent app" orientation to vertical instead of horizontal? Also, is there an easier way to lock and unlock a recent app?
4) Is there a way to link Do Not Disturb to the slider?
5) Xposed is not installed. To be honest I forgot how to install that one, has it changed with this new OS update?
I might have more questions, but that's all for now, I updated like an hour ago, so I haven't been able to try it out more
thank you
Alright, I can try to help with some of your issues, but not all.
Don't worry about the new stuff, you'll get used to it quickly. Some things are still a bit "under development", but mostly is very usable. You'll not break anything and as long as you can boot into fastboot, your phone will be alright.
I cannot help with Nova launcher, I'm not using it.
If you have your bootloader unlocked, then just flash the newest Magisk zip, and you're good to go. Just to be safe, download the MagiskManager app and also the uninstaller zip, so if you end up with a bootloop, you can uninstall it.
I don't think that you can change the recenets, but I might be wrong. If you click the 3 dots in the top right corner of the app, you can lock / unlock it.
I was wondering about the same. I tried to link the DND to the slider with Tasker, without luck so far.
To my knowledge, there is no stable version of Xposed for Pie just yet. There's a beta or alpha build which is somewhat working though.

OnePlus 6T on Oxygen OS 10.3.3 CtsProfile: false problem

I have a OnePlus 6T T-Mobile converted to unlocked global ROM. I had Magisk rooted and working on OOS 9 with no TWRP.
I recently updated to OOS 10.3.3 from 9.0.17 and now the CtsProfile returns false on a safetynet check.
Am I supposed to install safetypatcher module for magisk?

Or am I supposed to install MagiskHidePropsConfig module?
Also, how do I flash the busybox installer if I need to install MagiskHidePropsConfig?
Do I need to boot into TWRP?
Just enable MagiskHide on Magisk Manager, then Magisk Hide the Google Play Store and Google Framework Services.
Good luck

Hi,
I had MagiskHide active already before updating from OOS 9 to 10, and checking the Magisk Hide list I already have Google Play Services checked on the list of applications to hide Magisk from (Google Play Store does not show up on the list so I can't have it checked).
For what its worth, I tried to find Netflix on the Play Store and it doesn't show up meaning the Play Store is definitely detecting something is off.
Is there a way to make Play Store show up on the list of Magisk hide apps? (its not showing up at the moment)

Hi,
I enabled "show system apps", which made "google framework services" and "google play store" show up. I tried adding them to the magisk hide list then rebooting the phone.
Unfortunately, I am still getting a "ctsProfile: false" result when I run a SafetyNet check (basicIntegrity: true passes).
Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Do you have anything else I could try or does anything I might have missed come to mind?
I think you have a bad fingerprint. The answer you're looking for might be in the following link.

Also, how do I flash the busybox installer if I need to install MagiskHidePropsConfig? -> Put the zip file on your phone's storage and install as a module from Magisk Manager.

tank with the new UI is laggy as hell, compared to the "old" UI.
Ok, then I'll skip this update^^
I guess they want to drive us into the trade-in of all the older (unlocked) fire TV devices^^
They offer $3.00 for every tank, sloane, bueller and even the cube. Lol.
Thats a really awesome offer

Hello, I have a rooted fire stick (tank) with build 5.2.7.3. I too have disabled Amazon Launcher and replaced it with ATV launcher and Markus Firetools for settings.
Prime Video app used to work fine but since two days it is showing 'error code 8056' though the app version is matching to the one on the app store. More over it is forcing to update the OS. I tried clearing data, cache, updating the app through app store but it did not work.
Is it safe to update to 5.2.8.2 build through magisk to fix this error? Will it loose root access? Will it blow the efuse and lock the bootloader? I'm much worried about that. Pls clarify.
Edit: I have blocked and disabled the OTA updates as well. So it stays on 'Checking now' on the update screen.
Enable ota Updates over ADB and you can pass the update Screen. Then disable it again.
Yes you have root if you have flashed magisk.
But there is anything changed from Amazon, you can delete System Files, but can not write to system "no space left".
I think Amazon dynamic resizes the System Partition, currently i have found no solution for that.....
Maybe @Sus_i have a idea for that.
Can I allow ota access and let it update automatically to 5.2.8.2 or flash the zip manually through twrp? What's the correct way?
I would Flash manual over twrp ( Flash Firmware and Magisk ) and then allow ota.

Ok, what version of magisk is suitable for this device? Can I just rename the Magisk-v23.0.apk → Magisk-v23.0.zip and install it through twrp?
Use 20.4, 23 not working without mouse to accept root request.
20.4

Same here.
Will try to disable updates completely somehow and check what happens than...
EDIT: has somebody tried to completely remove the updater APKs, instead of just disabling them?
Should be (tank):
Code:
com.amazon.tv.forcedotaupdater.v2
com.amazon.device.software.ota"
com.amazon.device.software.ota.override

But there is anything changed from Amazon, you can delete System Files, but can not write to system "no space left".
I think Amazon dynamic resizes the System Partition, currently i have found no solution for that.....

Remount the system r/w doesn't work?
Guys, here's the thing. I have wiped system, data, cache and installed 5.2.8.2 and magisk 20.4 through twrp. After the initial boot, did the basic setup. Noticed something weird with the prime video app. When I open the app or say 'open prime video' through alexa, it throughs the error code 8056 and says update required. Where as when I say 'search prime video' or 'search <movie>', the prime video app opens successfully and doesn't show any error! How can this be fixed?
BTW the build installed is 5.2.8.2 but on the update screen 5.2.8.0 is shown as new update!

Remount works, same on TWRP "No space left on device"
I can delete but not write.
I have noticed this problem, i don't really need write access on my Stick.
But it is funny.
Maybe its a Problem with my Stick or Amazon has changed anything. ;-)

Just tried it from fireOS 5278 via adb shell and yeah, same here, no space left...
Edit: I thought maybe no free inodes, tried to run 'df -i' but no avail
Edit2: More than enough inodes free on system.
Is it possible for you to upload 'Fire OS 5.2.8.0 (668694820)' ota zip file? Though 5.2.8.2 is installed on the device, it is fetching 5.2.80 from the amazon server as an update and prompting to install that version. Can't install that from Firestick UI, so I need the zip file.
