OS Version?
Stable Magisk is 18.1.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
It works on 9.0.12.

Have you cleared the cache or data for the affected apps? I've noticed apps seem to remember if they have detected root and clearing cache will usually make clear it up.
Ive cleared cache, rename any magisk word in files, i even unroot my phone.
After unroot8ng and clearing cache app is working.
After root, selec5 app to hide root and run the app, it detected as rooted device.
Easy fix
Install
Magiskhide props config
From magisk modules
Working perfectly for me
Not working at all. Installed module. Unable to run the app.

Before you do all that work, you should try Canary version 18.2 Magisk. No need for renaming files, installing a module config. Flash the 18.2 Magisk Canary and that's it.
Actually, for me it is working partly. After disable and enabling magisk hide it works for a few hours.
Will try to update to v19, maybe that fixes it.
But glad to hear not to be the only one having issues.
Edit: V19 fixed it for me.
Damn. I still havr nothing
Try going into the settings of magisk and select hide magisk manager and repackage with different name. That works for me.

Busybox

Anyone have success installing busybox on the 3A?
Appears to remove after a reboot, so I'm assuming ramdisk?
There's a Magisk module. IDK if that helps you out or no...

Yes, it helps. So traditional installation is out of the question?

This is what it says....if you get the pro version...it will automatically install after reboot. So I guess the answer to your question is yes, since /sbin is restored upon booting, it always needs reinstalled....whether manually or automatically.

Yeah, it doesn't work as advertised. I use that and meefik. I was reading about it and might fiddle with some stuff when I have some time.

Better flash the Busybox Magisk module. Works like a charm.
There's another busybox app that I've been using for a while now. It's called Busybox For Android. When I install Root Browser Classic, I'm prompted to install this as well and it always worked for me.
I use Magisk as well but never the module that would replace busybox. At least I don't think?

Snapchat - blocked due to root, even on Magisk?

Hi all!
I constantly get blocked on Snapchat, since they notice im rooted.
Im on Alexis Rom 8.5.1, Android 9 with Magisk and MagiskManager installed.
SaftyNet Check is successful
Mods installed:
MagiskHide Props Config
Riru - Core & edXposed
Busybox for Android NDK
Snapchat i ticked under Magisk Hide, so it should not find that im rooted? But somehow it says im using 3rd party app or something and blocks me after 1 dag.
What am i missing? What more do i need to do?
i know snapchat works once hidden with magisk hide and busybox installed... however ive not got Riru - Core & edXposed chances are its picking up on that somehow

Hey,
I just wanted to ask if any solutions worked for you bc I have exactly the same problem. I am using Alexis ROM 9.2 (I guess) on my Galaxy s8 and I get locked out and banned for 24 hours every 2 or 3 days. I have no mods installed and I dont know what to do anymore...

AdAway

I have rooted 7T Pro 5G successfully, but after installing AdAway, it does not work due to not being able to access the host file location. Probably due to the different system structure here - but has anyone gotten it to work?
You have to root to use this app, and without it, the others don't really do much - especially with Google crap.
You need to enable systemless hosts module

Thanks, but I cant find the screen with the option or a module.
I saw systemless hosts for Addblocker apps, and it said the module had been added, but I don't see it ?

That setting is in the adaway app. Sorry forgot to mention...you have go into magisk manager and select 'systemless' hosts option as well.

I did everything but still didn't work, but then remembered I had changed the host location earlier. put it back to the default, and now working - thanks again!

How to install non-magisk YouTube Vanced?

I've got perfectly working Magisk module, but would like to install the latest versions. I manage to i stall it with Split APK installer. Install MicroG, Vanced afterwards (with Root enabled and signing of APKs also enabled). It seems to work, but I can't login. It always tells me my account already exists on the device.
Anyone succeeded with installing it and logging in? Split APK installer complains about MIUI preventing the installation, until recently. I'm on latest Mi9 Xiaomi.eu ROM, so the install works.

Try signing out of normal YouTube and clearing all data in both apps. if you have magisk why not install root version of vanced, its better, you don't need micro g

I just went for the latest build without split installer, and it works fine for me, maybe you should try that. Also, uninstalling stock youtube or reinstalling microG might help too
(I have the latest xiaomi.eu rom)
Also, wrong thread - next time, post questions to Q&A

Where do you get single APK version? On vanced.app there is just apks.

All the new ones are apks, look up how to install, you can use split app installer or i think there's a way of using lucky patcher [emoji4], good luck

For Magisk, use the YouTube Vanced module you will find and install by using Magisk Manager (or download directly from Magisk repo)
Before that, go to Playstore and for the YouTube app, disable automatic update (top/right three dots).
Then uninstall YT.
Finally install Vanced module and reboot
The magisk Youtube Vanced is outdated as hell
Yes install the new one it all works brilliant on miui, it looks more difficult than it actually is

I would like to replace the System apk from Youtube with Youtube Vanced like with magisk to get the Google assistant Integration .
With the sai installer you install it next to the original youtube without Google assistant features
I think you need to install the root version to have all features.

I have YouTube disabled, Magisk Vanced installed.
In order to install Vanced root without Magisk I cleared data from Vanced module, remove it and reboot.
Installed microg and in Split APK installer I enabled Sign before installing and installed.
YouTube works, but I'm not logged into my account. Once I try to log in, it tells me that I'm already logged in on the device.
So... How?

I'll keep trying. I've got YouTube unistalled from System, so there should not be any conflict. Still can't log in.
Are you sure you are installing the root version? When I installed it I didn't even have to log in. All I did was just like the guide on their site says
1. I disabled the apk verification
2. Installed apks with the SAI
And that's all, it works

I'm on latest eu MIUI as well (20.5.14, davinci device), but there is no option to disable the verification as eu devs have hidden the switch to deactivate MIUI optimization under developer settings....
So could you please tell me how did you disable the signature verification?
Yea have the same question.
How did you disable the verification on MIUI 11 (Android 10)?
You don't have to disable miui optimization. You can use lucky patcher to disable app signatures and install with sai
