Converting 7T Pro McLaren to International McLaren - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

I couldn't find a post that clearly stated or answered the question. So the question is, is it possible to flash the international 7T Pro McLaren stock rom to the 5G TMobile version if you don't care about losing 5G?

Not at the moment,no

No you cannot, the MSM tool is hardware specific so at this point there is no way to get around it. I wish we could get a working TWRP for the 7t pro 5g McLaren. On my 7 pro I dirty flashed international system of T-Mobile stock room through TWRP and had dual SIM support. I then added all the bloatware I actually want from T-Mobile and had no problems. I'm hopeful we might, one day, get to do that to these!!!

Thank you for your input. I appreciate that you elaborated on the setbacks. I am also hopeful that we will eventually have twrp and an msm tool. I love this phone and will wait as long as needed.

Thank you for the question. and answer. I was wondering this as well. One day we can get rid of the TMO stuff.

Dang. I just ordered the 7T pro McClaren *yesterday*. I didn't know we couldn't unlock the bootloader until after 60 days. Guess I'll just ask nicely after it arrives...

Any update on this?

Mclaren Edition ROMS

Hi guys,
Can the 7T Pro ROMS be flashed over the Mclaren edition since they are practically the same device with just some more RAM?
I am asking, because I have a good deal for it, but if I can't flash some cool ROMs, what's the point, right?
Thanks!

I've just flashed today regular EU rom as I was having Indian version.
I can't see why not but that's only my opinion. You should keep asking.

Non 5g, 5g is TMobile and you will need a conversion to global if I remember correctly may want to dig into the 6t forums to see how they converted TMobile phones

Download the 1917 rom, put it in root of your storage on your phone. Go to settings
System update
Then setting icon in upper right
Select local upgrade
Select the 1917 rom zip you downloaded
Let it do it's thing
Press reboot
Profit.
Mine came from China is 1910 but had oos not the global version, and I did it this way
Also on my 6t you could change from h2o to oos by this method, but you cannot flash a older date of release firmware. Must be same day or newer
Also the rom will download as.zip.jar
You have to remove the .jar

I'm wondering the same thing. I have the McLaren 5G from TMobile and want to root and put a ROM on it.
You might lose 5G support

If you have the McLaren for TMO and flash an international 7T version, that would be dangerous.

I understand the international part, but what about flashing a OnePlus 7T Pro ROM on a OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren phone? Would that work and be beneficial?
Wouldn't be wise

Because you might lose 5G capability. I don't recommend doing it is what I'm saying. I do not think it's beneficial and there's no software which works correctly on this model. Just stock. Maybe in coming weeks a developer will create alternative

That makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. I sure hope someone is able to create a stable ROM to improve battery life and give us improvements over stock. I'm looking forward to being able to customize this phone!

McLaren 7t pro to stock firmware?

Just bought the T-Mobile edition McLaren 7t pro and was wondering if there is a way to get stock firmware on this device. Already have the device sim unlocked so I have the OEM unlock checked already. Thanks in advance.

I got mine SIM unlocked just by asking TMobile. I messaged them on Twitter. The rep was so nice. BUT...you won't be able to unlock the bootloader until OnePlus grants you an unlock token....which takes at least a week!! Dumbest process ever. So yeah, OP probably won't be able to even load the stock image without unlocking the bootloader. Maybe. I haven't done something like that in a while and/or if it's needed just for flashing an image.
We don't even have the MSMDownloadTool for the McLaren 5G for any potential unbricking.
Any attempts to flash stock McLaren firmware will be at your own risk. Even if it's just the system image and you keep the core firmware, you could still lose 5G or bootloop.

OnePlus 7T 5G McLaren 256GB T-Mobile

Hi all i need help i have a OnePlus 7T 5G McLaren 256GB Unlocked T-Mobile variant i need to flash with global firmware i dont know how to start need help
There is NO global firmware available for the T-Mobile 7T Pro 5G Mclaren (HD1925). That is because the HD1925 was only sold in the US with T-Mobile with the X55 modem, and no international model exists. This is the only OnePlus T-Mobile phone that cannot be converted to Global.

I don't believe so but I could be wrong. Check out the roms subforum. It's definitely not possible on OOS.

Need info for using msm

Hey, had 6t before but then moved to 7 pro and then 8 pro so I forgot things lol. If I have a T-Mobile variant 6t, unlocked, can I use non T-Mobile variant MSM? I want to go back to android pie for Pokémon go, joystick reasons and forgot how to do that. Once its unlocked, can I use regular msm tool for custom pie ROMs
Yes, as stated into the guide,
flashing non T-Mobile version will convert
your TMO firmware into international one.
For correct version to use just read first post...
More info can be found here.
Cheers
