Note 8 not updating firmware. Originally with Sprint then Unlocked and with Verizon. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Guides, News, & Disc

I purchased my note 8 and was with Sprint for 2 years after I paid all 4 of my note 8 phones off we switched to Verizon. My wifes note 8 has updated 2 times since and my phone will not update at all. I am currently on version SM-N950U SOFTWARE INFO N950USQS6DSG5
ANDROID VERSION 9
BUILD NUMBER
PPR1.180610.011.N950USQS6DSG5
KNOX VERSION 3.2.1
I have downloaded the verizon update software and it gives a error saying "your devices current firmware version is not supported to update firmware"
When I try to update on the phone it says it is up to date which I know is incorrect.
If I need to flash with oden to original stock firmware. What version and carrier do I use.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Donnie

Hey, wondering if you made any headway with this. I'm encountering the same issue with my Note 8

At&t phone in uk.

Sorry, this is probably already posted somewhere but I'm having trouble getting a straight answer. I'm in uk and getting a note 4 on att, obviously it won't let me update as I'm not in US. It's currently on KitKat 4.4.4. Just wondering, with Odin, do i have to update it with every android version released gradually working my way up or can I jump say, straight to 5.1 then from there to marshmallow? Thanks.
Nope, you can upgrade the firmware from whatever version of android, that is currently on your device. Straight to the latest version of Marshmallow using Odin.

I am having the same issue, not sure how to update, each time I check ... it says its up to date.
You have to wait for it to become available. Actually my roommate and I both have 950U's. His loaded automatically months ago. I had to look around and then it was in my updates. Have Samsung experience level 9.0, which supposedly is as good as Oreo 8.1. That's good, because I can't find a way to get the real 8.1. If you run the latest patch/system update from April 1st, you have installed a level 3 bootloader and are the proud owner of one of the few phones that cannot be rooted! Congratulations! Maybe someday. My build number has changed to R16NW.G950USQS3CRE2

Samsung Galaxy S8+ SM-G955U NOT UPDATING

Hi.
I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0
Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQC9
Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017
I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates. Every time i try to update it says that its up to date.
I have tried different ways to update it that i read online, The latest one that I have tried is following the steps given from this Thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s8+/how-to/sprint-released-oreo-s8-s8-flashing-t3915872 but it gave me this output https://prnt.sc/oqjnp6
My phone is not rooted or anything just a normal phone. I am just trying to update it to the latest Android Version 9.0(Pie) , I just made this thread for the reason of maybe someone can help me on updating my phone.
Where you able to update it? Or are you still having issues?

Keep v2 bootloader or upgrade to v3?

Right now I am on AT&T firmware CTA2 which is the v2 bootloader. I know if I take the OTA (I have it frozen so it doesn't auto update) to the March security patch it will update my bootloader to v3 and block my ability to revert back to Android 9. I am asking is anyone else in the same boat here and if so what did you? Keep v2 or jump to v3?
Anyone? Guess I am alone here on this one.
I upgraded to 10 before rooting mine, luckily the Binary code was still v3 aka build number G975FXXS"3"ASJG, so reverted to pie and rooted it.
Reason,as samsung are making it harder to root and i wasn't risking upgrading it.
Also no reason too, as custom roms will be made which will be 10, so best of both worlds

So what I am getting here is that you were on v3 bootloader and went back to Pie?
Yes, Look at the binary code, you will see number 3 in my build number.
there is a few more updates in pie, and also i think the first two in 10 that have binary code 3 in build number.
As i did update to 10 BUT only to the last update which contained the number 3 as i show in build number.
Thererfore i was able to revert back.
If i went further to binary code 4, then i'd be screwed
the last v3 you can use which is on android 10 and you can revert back if you wish is:-
2020-01-06 10 G975FXXS3BSL4 G975FOXM3BSKO
the next android 10 update v4 is:- 2020-02-12 10 G975FXXU4BTA8 G975FOXM4BTB1 (Do not update this, if you want to revert back to pie)
these are updates for my BTU G975f

Hey sorry for the real late reply, I just now dug up this thread. I noticed you have G975F phone. Is it rooted? I have a G975U phone. Does this matter? If I update to bootloader v3 (which is the bootloader my carrier is on), I can go back to Pie as long as I don't update to bootloader v4?
Reports in the forum here are saying once you've updated to a newer bootloader version you can't go back for the G975U version of the phone.

I did have the G975f which i did root successfully, sold it on and replaced it with the A71. which is much cheaper, a cracking phone, and has snapdragon chip which are much faster than exynos.
Midrange phones are now coming up to the main flagship phones, and cameras are excellent on it, and its also rooted.
Anyhow.........
Anyway if your s10 has the Exynos chip, you can root, if it has Snapdragon, as far as i know its not possible, you'd need to search.
As i mentioned in post, if the binary code aka 3 remains and it does in the early 10 release, then you can of course go back to pie, as i did.
If you upgrade to binary code 4 aka BL 4, you can not downgrade back to v3.
I'm not sure if it is still rootable at v4, you'd have to check, as like i say, i don't have mine anymore and never got to that stage to investigate.
Hope that helps you bud

So v3 can go back to v2 bootloader? I have a snapdragon G975U phone running AT&T firmware so I can't root it. I just don't wanna brick my phone if I unfreeze the update and update to v3 then wanna go back to v2 bootloader later.

T387AAUCS3CUD1 Firmware for SM-T387AA (Samsung Galaxy Tab A)

Hi!
Does anyone know where I can find the T387AAUCS3CUD1 stock ROM? I'm trying to fix a unit that I may have messed up by tinkering with custom ROMs.
Anyone?
Still nothing?
Hi also searching high and low for T387AAUCS3CUD1.
Any success finding it?
Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - AT&T
Get Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) support for the topic: Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA). Find more step-by-step device tutorials on att.com.
www.att.com
ATT is worthless - no support. OTA Android 8 won't update to Android 10. Says already current.
No luck yet :-(
Still no luck.
Someone recently gave me a SM-T387AA, came across this thread while looking for the latest firmware for the device. It does appear that T387AAUCS3CUD1 is the latest for the AA version, which I also was unable to locate. (probably because ATT uses their own servers for firmware instead of samsung) However, while searching, I also came across a newer version of firmware for SM-T387W.
Specifically:
AP VERSION T387WVLS3CVK2
CSC VERSION T387WOYV3CVK2
CSC VTR (Canada)
ANDROID VERSION Q(Android 10)
SIZE 2.62 GB Full Files
MD5 d3b07faf990e6b33b55f5f39839799e4
BUILD DATE 20221114152111
SECURITY PATCH LEVEL 2022-06-01
To my surprise, I flashed the 387W firmware on my 387AA with ODIN and everything seems to be working just fine. Still can't unlock my bootloader though. I see there's also a 387R4 variant. I might try that next, and will report back if I do.
Would this not though prevent a user from being able to use it on AT&T?

I popped in an ATT sim and calls/txt appear to be working.
Oh interesting, I wonder what the difference between the two firmware versions are then?

I used Bifrost. It can pull the latest firmware for most samsung devices that are hosted on samsung servers. Type in the model, "SM-T387W" and the CSC, "VTR", check for update and then download.
Bifrost link: https://github.com/zacharee/SamloaderKotlin
