Apk Root Folders - Nvidia Shield TV & Shield TV Pro (2019) Questions

Hello,
Does anyone know how or where to access where apps store their data files?
I’m using an external hd but for some reason not all my apps create a folder in the Android folder on my external drive when installed.
When I use root explorer I can see the path where The apps are installed to but no data at all seems to appear when I access my internal device. I also have show hidden files clicked. Any help is appreciated.
No need to respond figured it out... thanks

[Q] Astro file manager doesnt really do anything?

I noticed that whenever I modified the file system with Astro, it doesnt actually change anything on the sd card. Similarly, whenever I modify the sd card using the usb link the changes dont show up in astro. Im using the latest mattc Android build.
Anyone know what's wrong?
i noticed too lol
I just tried it with other file managers too with the same results. This is definatly not ok. Does anyone have a solution?
Root Explorer. Just now used it to change my boot animation. Word.
I was just about to ask something similar...
Basically, A LOT of it comes down to the Android system doing a "rescan" on the SDcard in order to organize the changes (new files, changed files, etc). This is especially true if you use a USB connection to copy new files (movies, .mp3s, etc) to your sdcard (mount as a disk drive) from something like Windows.
There are apps out there that will rescan your card, but they don't appear to work with the way that we have Android set up on the sdcard.
Other than doing a reboot, has anyone been successful in doing a rescan of the sdcard while inside of Android in order to update the changes?

I have found that when I USB (PC to HD2 (Android), i copy a file from my PC to SD Card while in Android OS, I can see the file on my SD Card with size. However, when I disconnect from USB I cannot install that file (APK) on my HD2. So, I use WM wherever I copy file directly from PC to HD2.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I tried all the file explorers I I think the Root Explorer is the best as it shows all files and has the best/easiest options.

You can either remount the SD card in the settings menu or use the Dev Tools app and tap Media scanner/locater.

Remount doesn't appear to make it work (you'd think that it would, but negative).
I'll try the Media Scanner trick (although I have tried others, maybe this one will work).
Are you able to confirm that this works?
can someone explain the media scanner trick? I dont know what that means..
If you have a ROM with Dev Tools installed (you can also get the APK but this force closes for some.) you can use the Media Scanner item to recreate the cached list of media files on your SD card.
Good luck.

Folder Structures in SDCARD

Hi everybody!
I just got my DHD and already root, clockwork, changed rom, etc. However, my problem is related to the directories structures inside my SDCARD.
I have 2 questions:
1- I moved some apps that I have in my main memory to my SDCARD via App Settings. However, when I go to my sdcard in windows explorer, I don't find these files. I'm not sure then if is really moving to my sdcard. I just realized some new folders, but they are empty. Does anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?
2- The second question it's linked with the first. I would like to organize in my SDCARD a nice folder structure. Something like:
/
/Songs/
/Photos/
/Documents/
/Backups/
/Games/
/Apps/
And then if you go inside the Apps folder, you have another folder with the name of the application. Pretty much like Program Files folder in Windows.
Is this possible? For Songs, Photos, Documents, I created a folder and it worked. But what about for apps and games that I got on the market?
My SDCARD has also a lot of folder/files that were copied when I put the sdcard on the device. I don't know if I can delete that. Any idea?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Instaling apps from sd card

I just bought my Xperia play, and tried to move some .apk games and apps to the sd card. On PC it shows they were transferred, but on my phone, no sign of the .apk files.
I'm new to the Android system, so maybe I've done something wrong.
How am I supposed to transfer/install those files?
PS: Music and videos successully transferred.
Edit: Solved, used Easy Installer.
Me, I used Appinstaller..
On a side note, I thought you were asking for installing app to sdcard coz we have a poor internal memory.. oh well to answer this, first i used app2sd, but not as helpful as I expect, there are still apps/games that you couldn't be transfer on sd card, so I use link2sd, perfect app for me, now all apps/games can be transfer to sdcard.. But it requires your phone to be rooted and you should have partition on your sdcard.
If you view apk files from astro file manager, it'll let you install them from there. Make sure you have the phone set to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
Sent from my R800a
Browse to the apk file using any file explorer and open it from there.

unable to modify contents of the sdcard

Recently, I have an issue when I want to delete or move files from my ext sdcard. It mentions "unable to modify contents of the sdcard. This is caused by new external storage ploicy introduced by Google in Android 4.4. To bypass this limitation you need to use one of "sd fix" tools available in Google Play. You need to be rooted, though."
So I try the application, I tried to change the kernel but it's not successing.
Does anyone have an idea?
Just use your system file explorer rather than external app

Factory reset device, cant access storage/emulated/0

Hi there
Im sorry if this been asked before, but I did some searches and couldnt find anything related to this
I just made a factory reset on my phone, because the battery drain was horrible and couldnt locate which app was causing this.
The device is rooted and its been working fine until now. For some reason Titanium Backup cannot access the path storage/emulated/0. This is where the backups are supposed to be stored. But it doesnt have access to any other internal path, it always says "this folder is not writable" every time I try to use internal storage. Thus cant make any backup or restore. I cant even see the list of the apps that are installed in order to freeze some of them.
Same happens to ES File Explorer. Before I could access storage/emulated/0 to transfer files from/to my MicroSD. And when I tried to copy a WhatsApp back up it says that it failed. In the memory selector I could choose between extCard and the before mentioned path. Now I can only see the extCard and a "legacy" drive, or whatever its called.
I tried fixing permisions for TB and ES File Explorer and used an App thats suppossed to fix the KitKat SDcard issue but its not working for me
It seems to me that the internal storage is somehow write protected?
Anyone can help? With links or your own knolwdge.
Thanks

Did you find a solution? I am stuck with the same issue and have tried all the steps you mentioned.
Sadly I didn't find any solution for this issue. I just sold the device and got a Note 3 shortly after I wrote this post. Maybe you could reflash the whole firmware via Odin? Or restoring the device via Kies.
