Meizu reboots on "Internal storage is running out ..." - Meizu Pro 5 Questions & Answers

Note: Posting it here even though ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development would be more appropriate category but this site isn't allowing me to post there 'coz I'm a new user.
Here's a situation: I've got Meizu 5 pro flashed with Flyme 6 which I flashed using TWRP recovery. I made few tweaks of the partitions (deleting and recreating and renaming) and then I wiped data.
Now the phone boots but as soon as it hits main interface I get error saying "internal storage is running out the process has been stopped" then it reboots and starts over, hits the message, reboots, starts over .... stays in this loop.
I still have access to:
- Meizu's recovery mode (which is kinda useless if I can't access root directory)
- locked fastboot mode (also little bit useless if it's locked)
- recovery partition through USB
I also have MRT dongle for repairing Chinese phones but it doesn't seem to work unless the phone boots fully into Android.
What I can do about this ? Any help much appreciated.

hm.. is it Exynos or Mediatek?

My guess is Exynos as all people here who have dealt with Meizu 5 pro say so.
Allegedly, on this Meizu you can press and hold Vol up and down and press power button once and the
phone's chipset will appear on the screen but my phone doesn't show anything.

Funny. I was just reading the thread when you sent me the link. Looks like my phone's last chance for resurrection, doesn't it ?

besides official meizu flash tool (if exist)

hard brick? i'm with no twrp recovery and no OS!

it's difficult to say how i arrived here..... but i simply restored a twrp backup what was with no os and with no recovery.
is my hone COMPLETELY LOST? if i press power + vol + and vol - i only see at the centre of the screen a little android bot. ( this sequence of press was ok for the twrp recovery)
now i can only enter in test mode ( power + volum - ) but i think this is useless.
If i conenct the phone to my pc it's not recognized, pc only ask me about 10 times if i want to format that unit...........
It is very difficult to completely brick Snapdragon 801 powered device, so I'm pretty sure you are not lost. As long as screen goes on, everything is fine.
Similar situation already happend to me. All you have to do is restore stock Lenovo firmware using QFIL utility (download link is in my thread here). Steps how to do so are just the same (plug your phone whilst holding Volume+ and press download).
Here is the firmware.
Let me know if it worked.
i'm safe, i pushed twrp from bootloader screen ( little android on centre). now i have the phone working BUT............................................... BUT.................... i have NO imei.
i made a previous bad FULL wipe and i have imei: 0 now.
i have a SECOND k920 near me and 100% working, i ordered it for a friend. i'm trying to use it.... but i don't know how to do.
i discovered i have to make a backup of imei, an generate a QCN file, that should contain the imei, yes but i CANNOT PUT THE BACKUP of another k920 insime MY lenovo, or the imei will be the same! and i think it is not a good idea.
i tried to edit the file changing the imei with my imei ( i read it in the cardbox i received)
i'm using this guide http://cellphonetrackers.org/change-imei-number-snapdragon-device.html
but i'm BLOCKED at the stage to edit the imei with Winhex editor. i cant find the "imei of working phone" and change it with mine. there are thousands of numbers inside the QCN file!

Hello Electry,
I am stuck up with my Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro since past few days. The problem is that when I power up the phone, it shows Lenovo logo and then the Blue LED switches ON and that's it.
I tried the method mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-unlock-bootloader-lenovo-vibe-z2-t3114307 but of no use. Can you please help me out.
Thank You
If it's not a hardware problem then you can use this method and restore original Lenovo Stock ROM:
BootLoop/Error > QFIL Flash > Lenovo Stock 5.0.2 K920_S246_150520_ROW
But you will lose all data not backed up before flashing firmware!

Help! Can't flash ROMs from Flyme OS 5.1.1 system!

So there I was, using Cloudy 3.3 on my G2 international model (d802) when I thought to myself: Why wouldn't I change the ROM. I guess I got bored of it and while in the past year I tried almost EVERY ROM (at least every 5.1 lollipop ROM and these new marshmallow ROMs) I wanted something different this time. I remembered that Flyme OS system and wanted to give it a go. I found one here on xda site, I think it was Flyme 4.1 or 4.0 or something like that but I decided to go for a ,,newer" version of the system.
I found Flyme OS on this site: http://www.flyme.cn/firmwarelist-14.html
And as you can see the entire site is in Chinese but I managed somehow and downloaded it. I had TWRP 3.0 installed and I think I know the thing or two about flashing ROMs on this device. The whole installer is AROMA based and even though it was in Chinese I managed to flash the system. And that's when I knew I f****d up. After I installed it and it booted up, I figured that I'm not really into the whole Flyme interface and wanted to revert to stock. But I couldn't!
1. I no longer have download mode, when I stick USB cable and hold volume up it shows me an animation of ,,download mode'' but then in upper left corner appears a message saying ,,boot secure error'' or something like that and then it shows me a black screen.
2. I no longer have my TWRP recovery installed.
- I can't use 3rd party apps to restart my phone into recovery because this OS is NOT rooted! And I can't even root it because there's no method for it. I tried the default rooting method for MEIZU phones which include you logging in to your Flyme account and all of a sudden ,,root permissions'' option appears in your settings - DIDN'T HAPPEN. I also tried other different methods but to no avail. It just can't be rooted. - Even when I turn the phone off and try to do the hard reset thing with simultaneously holding power + volume down button - it won't show me the LG's default ,,factory reset'' screen which could potentially lead me into TWRP. It just boots normally!
So, the conclusion:
I flashed an unknown Flyme OS system for LG G2 from a Chinese site and it works decently good but when it installed - it turned my G2 completely to a MEIZU phone. I have no clue on how to revert it and PLEASE I would appreciate any help given. Before giving your opinions in the comments, do read every sentence I wrote above.
Thanks in advanced.

Did you tried going to recovery mode by completely shutting off your phone and then pressing volume down + power button simultaneously. If goes into recovery mode as you said you have no twrp installed. What does it shows and also what happens when you connect your phone to pc in recovery mode?.
P.S i recovered from a similar issue like you on my sprint g2

I tried going to recovery with my phone being completely shut down, however, it simply turns the phone on. No button combination gets me into recovery anymore. As if it simply vanished from my phone (the recovery, of course). It doesn't show the default ,,Factory data reset" option when I hold volume down + power button whilst turning the phone on. No options whatsoever. So I didn't even get the chance to connect it to the PC while in recovery, since there's no recovery installed on my phone.

(+18) My BANality problem - fatal bricked with bootloader (Huawei Honor 8 Lite)

I know, for this story I can just get permament ban, because will too many forbidden content next (uncensored lexic, spam, probably forbidden links, and stupidy)...
I instruction for unlock bootloader will speak after month, here this situation.
- Unlocked bootloader (FRP also been unlocked), then system instantly rebooted
- (Auto) Broken firmware ("Factory Reset")
- Tried to flash TWRP (https://twrp.me/devices/huaweihonor8.html)
- Reboot to system, but when tried to boot recovery - stucked (but bootloader been alive)
- Reboot again to bootloader, and locked bootloader (for disappear "Unlocked and unthrusted"), OS alive (without Google Play and SIM)
- Again unlock bootloader, but again automaticly rebooted.... He should be try some resets, but because recovery fashed, it not possible
With last steps I lost access and to bootloader. Permamently "Unlocked and unthrusted", and any trying to shut down boots device again. I now awaiting uncharging battery, this may take 1-2 month. But I thing battery can just die, and will NOT any chances to boot or recovery again... I was sentenced to life imprisonment, and I probably owe the same money for which I bought this phone. Not helping adb, fastboot, volume down...
I warned that will many stupidy....
I partially unlock road to bootloader by uncharging battery. It triggered... But need to be accure, otherwise need again uncharge battery.
I avoid partially brick by this TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...on/recovery-twrp-huawei-p8-lite-2017-t3591762

Possible to upgrade honor 8 lite PRA-AL00 to volte support ???
Hi
How can I upgrade my honor 8 lite so that it can support volte feature
Model number is PRA-AL00
Build is PRA-AL00C00B183.
I didn't understand the point of this topic...is it a warning?
Asking for help?
Or what?
If your phone bricked you can easily restore it... first you have to flash the stock recovery and then just do a factory reset...as you didn't touch any of the other partitions so the rest of your firmware should be fine.
And nothing about the thing that you said about the charging and the battery or shutting down make sense...
Huawei devices include two recoverys
One for the emergency and it has two options
(Shut down device and eRecovery)
And the stock recovery that includes three or more options (wipe data and etc)
So you don't need too wait for the battery to drain.
And you can hold the three hard keys for foce rebooting your device and if you keep your fingers on the volume down button and connect the device to pc then it will reboot to bootloader
And for the emergency recovery (nothing good comes with that) hold the bottons until the recovery menu appears.

I have TWRP also but nandroid backup didn't work. Can you provide me stock recovery?
When you do a restore do you get a message that says something like: 'Warning:this data backup was made with f2fs file system. The backup may not boot unless you change it to f2fs."?
Mine did, but I modified the back up data files to ext4 and change the data file system to ext4 in TWRP.
But I still had to do the 3 button method to get it to finally boot.
I got lucky and managed to get my Y5 2017 going by holding down volume up and volume down keys until it finally booted up.
However, as I was trying everything I am not sure of what stage I did this, after it rebooted into TWRP or after EMUI download screen came up or after the bootloader unlocked warning screen, etc.
I will try to replicate the actions when I feel a bit braver.
I have found a stock firmware (I think). It can be downloaded from:
http://combinefile.com/home/browse/...w_Official_Firmware_Flash_File_By_Combinefile
It has several upgrade methods:
OTA upgrade
SD Card upgrade
USB upgrade
Upgrade tools&drivers
Download and keep unzipping
Under SD Card upgrade you will find UPDATE.APP
This is the one that the next two youtube methods use
How To Flash Huawei Dlord(UPDATE.APP) In Fastboot Mode
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKRTbv-6Kzc
Using Update.app to load firmware
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhru9rCA8-8
There are some other ways to do it listed in the file, but I am not sufficiently confident as yet.
Good Luck
Hi. I am also needing a Huawei Y5 (2017) Stock Rom [MYA-L02].
But before thinking about flashing, I must get past the "Bootloader unlocked" message screen at startup (The screen with orange texts and (1) (2) (3) options below.)
Currently, the phone does not boot even when it says "The phone is booting now..." It just restarts, and repeats the same again. I can't boot to erecovery with VolUp button because I had it overwritten with TWRP (corrupted perhaps), and I can't go to fastboot with Power+VolDown buttons for some reason. Basically, I cannot do anything with hardware keys. Without seeing the Huawei boot animation, PC commands in adb console are useless too.
I can't even turn the device off with Power button. I cannot remove the battery pack because I'm afraid I may lose warranty (a sticker is atop of the battery which cannot be tampered).
My last option is to let the battery drain and try the hardware keys again.
With this, I am requesting assistance from you developers.
It may not help but it worked on mine.
Where ever you are, push in and hold in the power button for quite a long time to turn it off.

Emui is the Huawei framework and not a custom ROM. I think your getting confused with MIUI which is available as custom ROM for some phone.
There are no custom time available for our phone that I know of, but it can be rooted and with the use of TWRP, Magisk and Xposed the stock ROM can be customized.

No. the EMUI allows updates to be downloaded and installed via update.app. However if the base unit is unlocked and/or rooted the download fails.
The other choices offered in the EMUI screen are reboot and turn off.
Importance of getting up this screen is that you can communicate between the phone and a PC via ADB and FASTBOOT while in it, This permits the major ROM elements to be flashed to the phone ROM and unbrick it. The 3 elements are system.img, boot.img and recovery.img.
Additionally, if you can turn off the phone from the EMUI screen, you can directly enter FASTBOOT and flash the img files to the ROM.
You can extract system.img, boot.img and recovery.img from a stock update.app file and when flashed the phone will reboot into the way it was as new (depending on what the update.app version is)
To force the phone into the EMUI screen I did the following:
At the unlocked warning screen I held the Vol up and down buttons firmly for around 30 - 40 seconds and when the warning screen comes up release the Vol up and keep holding down the Vol down button. The unit will cycle a number of times and the EMUI screen should come up.
If the phone is off, you can go directly to FASTBOOT simply by holding down the Vol down button and the connect the phone to you PC via the USB cable.
To do this you need to install HUAWEI drivers and to get ADB and FASTBOOT.
If you get this far, I can guide you the rest of the way but you must be able to get to the EMUI screen and/or turn the phone off.
It is a bit of a tedious method, though it works and puts you back into an unrooted stock ROM.
However I still am unable to relock the phone.
BTW FASTBOOT can be used to load the TWRP recovery on the phone.
Additionally, the HUAWEI Y5 2017 phone has the following aliases - MYA-L02, MYA-L03, MYA-L22 and MYS-L23 and MYA is often termed MAYA.

I installed CRDroid through TWRP and it bricked my Y5 several times.
This has been reported on several forums as happening by a number of users
On reboot it cycles between the unlocked warning and a screen stating that the storage is locked and to enter an unlock password.
When a password is entered that looks correct, it states that the password was correct but the action was corrupt and to do a factory reset to fix it.
Since I had deleted the system when in TWRP, I used the TWRP factory reset but the message came up again. I cycled through this several times and finally just entered a few random letters as the password and when it said that the password was correct I knew that I was in trouble.
When I got back to TWRP I wiped everything and still got the problem..
I then wiped everything and tried to restore a saved backup, the problem remained.
I then installed MIUI 9Pro and it installed OK but an error panel kept popping up covering the screen. Also the problem with MIUI was that the three software keys, home, back and ?? were missing and it appeared that it worked only with hardware keys which the Y5 does not have.
The error message kept popping up and it was difficult to use the phone and I managed finally to boot into recovery and after deleting the required partitions I restored it and it worked as before I loaded CRDroid.
BTW I have bricked it several times with the warning screen static and/or cycling between it and the Huawei boot flower and I managed to unbrick it.
To unbrick you need to get into TWRP or to get it to power off and then you can install a stock ROM or boot partition from TWRP or use fastboot to install stock boot, system and recovery partitions extracted from an update.app (used to automatically update a locked unrooted phone).
Huawei drivers and adb and fastboot need to be on your PC with the phone plugged into your PC.

When I used MIUI they were hidden and I could not go any further. Also an error panel kept popping up and I couldn't get past it.

Where are you getting the stock partitions from?
I just got one of these and am now stuck with a phone that boots straight to TWRP but I can also get to fastboot.

Mega Bricked 7X - Calling out all Senior/Pros for HELP!!

HI, I will get right to the point. My phone is Honor 7x (BND-AL10C675 INDIAN) I screwed it up.
Now, the fastboot or recovery or E recovery nothing works!!
There is only one screen which keeps coming in a loop rebooting with a vibration
It says " ERROR MODE"
ATTENTION!
PLEASE UPDATE SYSTEM AGAIN
ERROR! FUNC NO : 8 (HIFI IMAGE)
ERROR NO : 1 (SECURITY VERIFY FAILED)
It keeps rebooting and the phone doesn't even turn off. I tried the download mode (Volume UP & Down Power button, SAME SCREEN comes up)
Let me know if you want me to write a detailed version of how I got here or ask any specific questions.
Now, all I need is at least FASTBOOT so I can do something about it. Is there anyone who can help? I hope SOME PRO OR A GEEK is able to solve this issue magically. I just can't tell you what I'm going through.
UPDATE:
As Christo31 requested and maybe it's useful for other people to help me out. Here is what I did. It's a real long story!!
I have Honor 7x (BND-AL10C675 INDIAN) I had unlocked bootloader and twrp and I was on emui 8 beta which I flashed manually using one of the tutorials here on the forum. One day, I decided to get back to stock as I was stuck in emui 8 beta and no OTA updates so I downloaded the emui 8 stable rom from firmware finder and put it in sd card "dload" folder. Now, for this method to work, we need to relock bootloader and flash stock recovery which I did and it completely wiped everything out.
Now, the "dload" method fails at 5% every time. I tried different roms for this very model but no it doesn't work. (Also, my build no. was stuck at B141 for a long time no matter what rom I changed : Yes, this is stupid, I should have fixed it first) Maybe that's why the "dload" method doesn't work.
So, in this forum I saw some with similar issue but somewhat different " Frp locked & bootloader unlocked" and I was told that the DC phoenix software might fix this and I bought some credits and used the software. Here's what I discovered
My observations with the software:
* I put the phone in fastboot and downloaded the update.app full Ota (same one emui stable) and tried to flash. The software flash well ok as it says "the software is written" but the phone doesn't boot and goes directly into the recovery mode and again the bootloader and frp are locked.
*Here, I noticed that it shows something like "opening backdoor" and then the Bootloader status goes to red and says "UNLOCKED" it means it was definitely doing something so the next I repeated the same process but as soon as the phone was "UNLOCKED", I pulled the usb cable out and I kept my command ready and tried "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery.img" and guess what it flashed that twrp file and I could see in the command line that it went "okay" so I immediately booted to recovery but again the stock recovery comes up. Also, I tried system.img also it flashes fine but phone doesn't boot. Same recovery.
REMEMBER: THE ABOVE STEPS MAY WORK FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER BUT FRP LOCKED. IN MY CASE BOTH ARE LOCKED SO THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.
* I tried another update.app I guess it's BNDL22.ZIP or something and this time the software was trying to flash in "upgrade mode" and somehow the recovery was broke. There was some "ERROR MODE" basically the recovery was broke. I didn't care much. Although flashing another update.app would have fixed it.
* The next step I tried after a lot of trial & error for about 1.5 days. This time I did the same when the bootloader was unlocked, I pulled the cable and tried the command "fastboot oem unlock unlock code" ( I should have got this idea before, I mean it's a mess guys, I didn't sleep for too long) and I was shocked to see that it showed the options "Unlocked bootloader yes or no" and I clicked "yes" and I jumped hoping that it's over but... I ended up with 'ERROR MODE' which I described above.
* I feel, because the recovery was broken, it ended up in error mode. Just imagine if my recovery was fine and then I tried this command then it would have erased everything and maybe I might have been presented with fastboot screen with both "frp & bootloader Unlcock" or at least 'bootloader unlock" in either way, I could have flashed a 'system.img' and get into settings and BEATH THE HELL OUT OF THAT "ENABLE OEM UNLOCK' in settings. The rest you know.
I wrote this not just because someone might help me but because a lot of posts on this forum really helped me a lot and posts like these can help a lot of people down the road.
Now, my phone is still in the same loop. Reboot, Honor logo, Error mode...REPEAT
I heard that once the phone drains down completely, we may get back fastboot. Fingers crossed. Sadly, I have Mac so I borrowed windows laptop for this purpose from a friend. This is the last day and I guess I'm going to put it on sale and sell it as a scrap or something for display and stuff.
How much does motherboard cost? anyone any ideas? if it's below 4K or about 80$ then I might go for the repair if nothing works!!
I'm going to update on this very soon. Le'ts hope for a miracle. Either way my HONOR 7X IS A LEGEND.
UPDATE :
After waiting for hours, my phone got discharged and I curiously plugged in the phone pressing "volume down" button OR power + volume and all other types of combinations but the phone just goes to the same "ERROR MODE' and keeps going in the same loop.
So, I really hate Huawei for not providing stock firmware or some type of recovery for people like me to get back to stock. For example : Xiaomi has that fastboot ROMS which you can easily flash in EDL mode no matter what happens to you and of course some other ways to recovery the bricked phones.
The Huawei E recovery?? What the **** is it? Does it ever work? It's some kind of a joke. The hisuite is again **** It says 'My model is not supported" and it only showed me two very older and ancient models that are supported for recovery.
I'm not expecting warranty but at least they should give the service for the customer. Did I tell you that this phone was in Service centre for three days when it had FASTBOOT, RECOVERY, E RECOVERY working. They could n't fix it in 3 days so I rushed them to get my phone back hoping that I would recover it with the above method.
Now, I got the Redmi Note 5 Pro and my 7X is a dead brick and I'll try selling it as scrap for display etc...
Finally, I really love the XDA forums and the friendly members who are very helping and so empathetic. Thanks guys, you are the best
I'm not leaving. I'll see you on the other side. I mean, the Redmi Note 5 pro development. Keep hustling
You need to tell us what you did exactly first for any help

when you are in this situation
- Keep press "volume down" + "power button" for about 10 seconds, the phone will reboot
- When the phone reboot, release the "power button" but keep "volume down" and in the same time plug the micro usb cable ( you have to be ready and quick )
the phone will boot in FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE ( hope you have unlocked bootloader and frp unlocked )

Hi, thanks for your help but the phone doesn't turn off. it just keeps rebooting and there is honor logo and then error mode and then phone reboots and the same cycle. I tried what you said also with other possible things but I guess I need to let the battery drain out completely as some people said it worked for them. It's almost 9 hours and it's still not drained (it was on full charge) anyway Fingers Crossed!!

HI, I Updated the post in full details. I hope my phone is rescued.
Let the battery drain, and then try to get into fastboot using key combinations. Let me know if you can do this, from there on you can proceed normally.

I never heard of it I'm googling it now and please throw some light on this but strangely your message got my hopes up.
UPDATE: Oh, I guess you are talking about Huawei Hisuite. I did try that and it didn't work and I included that in my post above as well. I still have my phone with me completely discharged.

and with phone , off, totaly discharged, holding volume down, and plugging in the usb cable , just gives you same error mode?
---------- Post added at 10:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ----------
[/COLOR]Follow this steps.
1. Just flash with Dc phoenix
3 extract two update. App with huwai firmware extractor.
4. Check the log of dc phoix. Check which files are not flashed. By comparing with extracted files You will observe some files are not flashed. (some files are not in log of dc phoinix) Like Vendor.img product.img cust.img etc.. Note down which imgs are not flashed..
5. Now use multitool and go to unbrick option. There will be option of flashing around 5 img. Flash the 5 imgs. You will get this 5 img from extracting Update.app
6.then your phone will be working but not perfectly. Flash TWRP with fastboot.
7. Aftee flashing TWRP flash all other imgs which were not flashed by dc phoenix.
Then boot. Your phone must be good.
And again if you want then re flash with HWOTA tool. Your phone will be running now.

i more question for you. Please . Does the three button combo from power off attempt to show update screen. I know for everyone the dload method is failing at 5%, but still need to know if yours is attempting this or not even try.
There might be dload method that works, according to posts on 4pda.ru

I tried that also. Power+Volume UP+Volume Down to get into download mode but it just goes into that "ERROR MODE'
Normally, it should but maybe because I broke my stock recovery also and then tried to unlock the bootloader when the frp was locked with the DC phoenix trick (Pulling out the plug) that it's really screwed up beyond all this. Let me know if you want me to post pics or maybe if the clips canoe uploaded here, I will make short clip with what's happening. I guess I need some factory or manufacturer level stuff or I need to replace the motherboard. BTW the local guy told me it costs 8K INR which is around 125-130 USD which I'm not willing to spend. I got Redmi Note 5 Pro and I'll probably never ever buy Huawei phones ever.
ANYONE HERE WHO CAN DONATE THE MOTHERBOARD, PLEASE PM ME:laugh:
