K20 Plus Metro Stock Boot.Img - LG K20 Plus Questions & Answers

I'm unrooting my phone so I can use Magisk, I don't have a copy of a unmodified boot.img for a Metro K20 plus. Does anyone have a link to one?

LG has an update/recovery tool, that should do the unroot.Go to LG Site, select support and then software and drivers. Enter your model name, and you shoud find it.

LG K20 plus, how to flash original rom

I have a LG K20 plus with t mobile as the carrier. I believe the model should be TP260. I mistakenly restored a twrp backup from a metro pcs phone that I got from this site coincidentally. Now my phone drops calls and data frequently and shows metro pcs on bootup vs tmobile. I have a kdz file but it won't flash because it now also thinks the model is MP260...not TP260 and says it's a mismatch. Any ideas on how I can get a restore for tmobile to try to reset the phone?
Just bumping
i could use a restore too. I installed super SU root and lost access to android pay. I wasnt to try that magisk root
I restored mine with the linked files.
install LG driver (uninstall any other drivers first)
install LGUP
remove battery from phone and replace
hold volume up key
insert USB while holding down volume up key
phone will boot to download mode
drivers will find phone
run UPPERCUT.exe
UPPERCUT.exe will launch LGUP with phone connected. if phone is not connected try again.
in LGUP lower window browse to TP26010k_00_0316.kdz
choose UPGRADE option in LGUP
click START in LGUP
factory ROM and Recovery will be installed, bootloader will still be unlocked
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BygTApD1iNSSb3pCcU9RRlV1MVE
magisk can be installed using the same method as superSU. Mine is working along with AndroidPay

You were able to install TWRP after this process with the TP26010k_00_0316.kdz?
I am on TP26010E and don't want to upgrade to TP26010k if TWRP cannot be flashed as it has been stated here.
Yeah, you have to perform OEM unlock again, but I have been able to flash TWRP after flashing the previously attached .kdz with the LGUP tool

Can I install this kdz from twrp and install supersu?
no, you have to use LGUP tool. This is a LG image that will flash everything including your recovery partition, and not a flashable ROM image.
You flash root through TWRP, you use LGUP for kdz as the user above said rom flashing and kdz flashing are two different things
See this post which reflects the new kdz available https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73690098&postcount=3
Just a Heads up there is a new version out, as of 9/01/17

I flashed the modded ROM for MetroPCS, and couldn't flash kdz file because my phone was identified as MP260, instead of TP260.
I wiped the phone and re-locked the bootloader, and the phone would only boot into download mode, It gave a message about it being corrupted.
I took it back to TMO, and the sales people thought it was a virus, and replaced the device.
I've made a TWRP backup for anyone who runs into the same problem. This will fix your problem, so you can use the flash tools available for this device.
NOTE: I also provided Root tools and instructions for those Rooting for the first time.
1. Power off device, plug into computer, then hold volume up for download mode and let COM drivers install, you may need to change COM port to 41, through device manager.
2. In LGUP, choose upgrade or FOTA upgrade.
2. Once you flash firmware, you'll have to hit reset once or twice to get rid of the encryption failure notification.
3. Enjoy rooting your device again if you so choose.
ROOTING:
NOTE: Must have ADB & Fastboot setup already.
First you must unlock your bootloader.
1. In about phone settings, tap build number 6x to get developer settings, enable adb debugging and OEM unlock. Now plug into your computer.
2. Boot into Fastboot mode.
A. Open command prompt and type: adb reboot-bootloader.
B. Next type: fastboot oem unlock.
WARNING: You'll be prompted to factory reset device to protect your data. Your chance to turn back, if your brave then continue. Your device will factory reset, and you'll have to perform the first step again and you'll be ready to root.
1. To flash TWRP, plug into computer, then in command line navigate to where you have your recovery.img
A. adb reboot-bootloader
B. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2. Pull battery and manually boot into recovery,
A. volume+down as soon as you see LG, release then press again quickly and hold, follow the steps provided.
3. Hit cancel for the encryption notice, and swipe to modify system.
4. You must format device to get rid of encryption message, so choose format and it will ask you to type, yes.
5. Stay in recovery and flash the no-encryption.zip, and Magisk, if you choose to use it for your SU manager. Stay in recovery.
6. Reboot into recovery, and then set up your TWRP environment.
7. Enjoy Root:laugh:
NOTE: If you decide to root again, try using Magisk for SU management. Magisk's mods are excellent, and can run along side Xposed. If you choose Magisk, do not flash SuperUser.zip

You could probably flash the TWRP back up. After that your device would be Identified as TP260, by the flash tools and you'd end up with the same issue I had, when you decided to go back to stock, so make a TWRP backup on external memory. The KDZ file most likely won't flash because it performs a DLL check, to match device with firmware.

I've got backup after unlock Bootloader and before root. Pretty sure it's got recovery on it. I always make a backup asap. It's the mp26010t (I had the November patch but some reason after root it says Oct).
Is that what you need?

I have a Metro LG K20 Plus phone and want to change the firmware to T-Mobile. I have not been successful doing this as I always get invalid firmware, because LG UP recognizes the phone as a metro phone. Is there a way to succeed in getting the T-Mobile firmware on the phone?
thanks in advance.
lg k20 plus tmobil
lgup recognizes my model correctly as lg-tp260 on [com41] but it just sits there initializing for eternity. With my model highlighted I select it and I keep getting the error "LGUP cant load the model [C:\Program Files(x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\com. I have installed lg air drive, lg bridge, lgup8994.dll, lgup for store. I desperately need to get this thing back to stock, I have the AICP rom installed but I dont like it. it was a mistake, if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

unknown model in lgup.

Actual model is ls997 but i flashed vs995 kdz with ls997 modem everything worked fine.Just very crappy battery life so i decided to flash a us996 rom. but it was not just a rom but the full us996 kdz twrp flashable without the recovery.I figured this as i was flashing in twrp it showed flashing laf and all other partitions. So now it doesn't even boot to any recovery or boot at all.but i still have unlocked bootloader and can get into download mode.Though lgup keeps saying "unknown model, US996".Im sure i can just flash vs995 kdz again since there is no ls997 kdz but lgup wont let me in lol.is there any way to bypass this unknown model pop up? or can i use flash tool or something.

ok so i tried lg flash tool and using the us996 kdz or vs995 kdz it start the download and just 2 secs in it say 0x0000 " kdz name here not support ".I'm using the lgup dll that comes with the kdz for the lg flash tool.also in fastboot none of the flashing or erase commands work, just say phone locked or something.i think ive done f**cked this phone.Damn i should have known that twrp zip flashes every partition...
lg mobile support tool says ls997 but the firmwire is like us996q or something.Lg bridge can't even connect to the device.

thanks for the reply Brian.
i thought i have the patched one, i downloaded it from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-patch-lgup-to-unlock-features-t3652222
but i wont even open because it says "you have to select a known model, please" " when i select unknown model,US996COM41" and if i try without any phone connected, it asks to select a model. So it does detect it just not correctly. Is there a way to patch it to bypass model selection?
I think the lg flash tool i have (1.8.x.x) is out of date for v20 that's why it may be failing download once it reaches "preareafterdload Download".Though the other version 2.0.1.6 or something fails to load at all.correct me if im wrong.
FOUND the fix.Used lg flash tool (1.8.x.x) but instead of using the dll from kdz i used the lg g5 dll provided in this fourm:https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/bring-lg-g5-to-life-download-mode-lgup-t3565508

Follow the instructions you mentioned, while I am ready to flash dz file, flash tool will stop at 10% and show download failed info. My device is v20 f800s and use dll file you mentioned, that is why I can't flash dz file? If so, which dll file I should use?

1st Step: select LGUPc.dll extracted from H910PR kdz and selected .kdz file. It failed because model mismatch (H910 vs H910PR (I have Lineage 15.1 for H910 installed)
2nd step: select H850 dll and select extracted H910PR .dz file > It failed right within 1 second
I'll try flashing H910_10r full firmware through TWRP and see if I have any luck with the phone to flash back to H915 again....
Mine cannot booting, always bootloop.
I try to flash via LGUP and UPPERCUT there's unknown model, so i cannot proceed.
I try to LGFlasfhTool 1.8.x.x with several dll, from extract kdz or from the latest LGUP_commond.dll the latest one, i try many dll, but its say download failed after 4% or sometimes it's say to many partitions and then error download failed.
I try to boot in factory reset mode (power + volume down), after doing factory reset (pressing YES twice) only LG logo appeared.
I was try to using fastboot mode, but I cannot run fastboot boot twrp.img its say <waiting devices>
Now my LGV20 (US996) cannot boot up normally, it's only can boot in download mode, factory reset and bootloader mode.
Anyone can help, plz.
Thanks before
If you have the correct version of TWRP, rename it to "twrp.exe". From a powered off phone hold volume DOWN and plug-in USB cable. Issue the following command from a prompt in the same folder that contains TWRP:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Reboot to recovery (Vol down, hold and release power), choose "yes" twice and wait a few seconds for a reboot into TWRP.

not much actual help, but fastboot boot doesn't work on ANY v20 models. you have to actually flash it and THEN boot into it.

EASY:
If you are sure the varian you have is H870 just go to Oreo thread here on the forum, many people already share the kdz file to install, you can go ahead and download V20b/V20c EUR_OPEN, install LGUP and flash it, chose UPDATE and select KDZ file, just search here in the forum, H870 is Europe so, you can flash the OPEN_EU anyway.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G - Phone currently stuck in Mi-Recovery loop

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to prep my phone in readiness to flash a custom rom and got this far:
Ensured latest firmware is installed
Unlock bootloader
ADB and Fastboot prep
Flash and boot twrp-3.5.2-andromeda.img
Full backup taken in TWRP
However, whist trying to use ADB sideload to move the amaneded vbmeta.img file onto my phone it glitched out. Now my phone will go into Fastboot (when pressing 'volume down' button and 'power' button), or if I don't intervene the Mi-Recovery 3.0 screen.
When in Fastboot the command "adb device" on my PC in command prompt no longer works:

List of devices attached
7586a90b device
After:
List of devices attached
So I can't flash anything to it via ADB.
If I choose reboot in Mi-Recovery 3.0 the phone restarts and I just get stuck in a loop.
Can anyone provide some advice on what I can do next to try and recover my device, please?
Cheers,
fitzy-boy
I managed to resolve this by downloading the Mi Flash Tool from here:

andromeda_eea_global_images_V12.0.7.0.PEMEUXM_20210526.0000.00_9.0_eea_3bae1ef62a
I then used 7-zip to unpack the andromeda_eea_global_images_V12.0.7.0.PEMEUXM_20210526.0000.00_9.0_eea_3bae1ef62a.tgz file
And used 7-zip again to unpack the
andromeda_eea_global_images_V12.0.7.0.PEMEUXM_20210526.0000.00_9.0_eea_3bae1ef62a.tar file
to gain access to the folder structure needed.
I then used the instructions here to flash the stock ROM back onto my phone:

Hi sorry to bother you but its years since i have been on here and not even sure if im posting in the right place so let me apologise just in case, i have a similar problem my phone glitched Mi Mix 3 5g, and i had to do a factory reset then came the moment when it asked to activate this device with password could not remember password went into Mi Account and changed password no luck tried this 3 times with no luck, then someone told me to delete the Mi account and start again which i did and to be honest this has massively complicated the issue, i got in touch with Xiaomi and told them what had happened sent them imei number proof of purchase, and photos of activation screen , and to be honest its like talking to a brick wall all they keep telling me is change the password on the Mi account done it numerous times to no avail ,but my new account is not associated with this phone its the deleted account that is associated with this i would be most grateful for any advice as this phone is in immaculate condition thanks in advance....
