Help! Galaxy s10+ (SCV42) Navigation gesture - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

I am unable to select more option on Navigation gesture
on my s10+ running oneui 2.0

Guess you are running 3rd party launcher like Nova?

You can use it with Samsung oneui. Not supporting 3 part launchers. I don't know why how but it is.

Somehow I found a work around for Nova. I selected the default one ui launcher and then enabled the gestures. Went back and changed the default launcher to Nova and the gesture navigation stuck. Now I gotta get used to the nav bar being gone and using gestures. ?

You are probably using Samsung gestures (from the bottom of the screen), they work. Googles gestures do not work nova.

Hi guys, just a question : with this new gestures I noticed I'm not able to use completely One Hand +, so I need to lock screen with physic Button. Do you have advices? Thanks

[Q] Knock-Off in Nova Launcher

Hello you guys,
I was wondering if I am the only one where knock-off doesn't work in Nova Launcher? Knock-on works great though.
Should I contact the Nova devs or is here anyone who knows them by chance?
It does when you tap status bar, top bar.

Knock off only works with the stock launcher. You need to setup the double tap gesture in Nova to either launch a Tasker task, or the screen off app.
Thank you guys, that helped a lot!
Or use this app and a gesture in Nova to be able to "Knock Off" anywhere on the screen.

New to S8 - how to remove keyboard icon in Navbar?

Wondering if anyone has figured out a way to remove the keyboard icon in bottom right of Navigation bar / navbar when typing?
Previously on the pixel and past oneplus phones installing multiple keyboards did this but it seems permanent with s8. What's strange is that I don't have any other keyboards installed other than what samsung pre-installed...
I have the standard s8 keyboard plus a Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta and then Samsung voice search.
Any ideas?
I'd like to know this too. I hate the navbar under the keyboard but i think it's impossible to hide. I hope they'll solve in a future update

Disable two and the icon will be gone.

This did it. Strange though, with AOSP you are able to set a default and this icon wont show. I ended up disabling them via package disabler, FWIW.
Any way to remove navigation bar while the keyboard is open?

Weather and Nova Launcher

Does anybody know if the Pixel style weather widget on the Nova Launcher home screen works on the OnePlus 5? As far as I can tell I have everything enabled correctly but the weather won't show up. I've read that this feature doesn't work on Samsung phones. Does it also not work on the OnePlus 5 or am I missing something?

Works for me. You have it enabled in the labs menu under Nova settings?

Yes I did. The option to choose to display the weather on the home page doesn't show up unless you enable it in labs first. Maybe I'm missing a permission or setting somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Are you running stock unrooted?
Restarting Nova Launcher from within Nova Settings immediately fixed the issue. ☺

Nova as default Launcher not sticking after Android 10 update.

I am a Nova Prime user for 5 or 6 years now. Everything was working fine with Nova as my default Launcher on Android 9 on the S10+.
This morning after the CSKP OTA update I have to validate the default Launcher every time I press home after the phone went to sleep. If I press home multiple time in a relatively short period of time it will work as intended, but after the phone goes to sleep (left unattended for 15 min) then I will have to revalidate the default Launcher
I try to set the default in Settings/app/default app or in Settings/app/Nova/Set as default but that do not fix it.
I have seems multiple people with this issue online, but no fixes for it.
I rather not have to factory reset...
Thanks for your help
Go in settings- apps -one ui Home and in
Home Screen set Nova as default.
It worked for me
Working for me too.
Hi,
Nova prime user also, have had no problems all the way through the 7 betas with Nova as Launcher,
Ken

Did you guys come from the beta? I came from Pie and Nova has been so smooth. There's also a new Nova beta out this morning that might help.

Nova and Gestures

Is anyone using Nova and if so are the Android 10 gestures working? On my Pixel 4 XL they were working on Nova. Not working on the S20. Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
Same thing, totally bumming me out. Works on the stock samsung launcher.

I got the warning on the Pixel when I installed Nova that the gestures would not work but they ended up working just fine.
Same, I still might go back it but I'm liking the s20 so far. Bet there is a launcher that is compatible, I'm going to need it because I'm so acclimated to the gestures at this point.
Sorry wrong thread

The options on the "full screen gestures" nav are blocked when you use Nova Launcher unfortunately.
Temporary solution for me. Good Lock and one handed operation. At least I can get back swipe to go back.
I use edge gestures and have it setup so that swipe from left to right is back, swipe down is home, and swipe up is recents apps
Then use immersive manager to hide navigation bar. That's been my setup for a while and is the first thing I do when seeing up a new phone
Just a heads up to those looking for another possible solution

I think this is great for the home screen, but the idea is to be able to use the gestures in every app.

Edge Gestures does work in every app. It's an app in the play store that I was referring to
I was describing my setup with that app and not Nova Gestures, which I also use. Sorry for any confusion
Best way around it is use Nova launcher with fluid gestures, work awesome!
you can use the gestures of android 10 with nova using this command by adb, I have it activated.
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Can confirm this works.
You can disable it by changing the settings back and forth.

No, it does not.
Samsung’s One UI 2.5 update will enable Google’s gesture navigation in third-party launchers

Works Fine

works like a charm bro. thanks for the help. it was really helpful.
earlier i was using a Oneplus 6T, so with it even after warning message from nova on gestures, full screen gestures worked smoothly. once i moved to S20+ 2 weeks back i was looking for the option on how to enable this option as default launcher sucks once u used Nova.
