[root] ZTE Open C

I was browsing a help thread I have over at the dev.b2g google group this morning when I came across a post by Vance Chen. Look at the bottom of the thread and you will find a link to root the ZTE Open C!
You will need to have Windows Vista/7/8 to run the upgrade tool and flash the developer build.
First, you will need to download the ZTE Upgrade Tool, then you can either choose between a US build (for those of us who live in the Americas,) or an EU build (for those who live in Europe.)
Don't forget to remove your sim card before flashing!
Once you have the firmware downloaded, navigate to the directory you downloaded it to, then extract the .zip file. Now, open up the upgrade tool and click the browse button. You will need to navigate to the root directory of the extracted files. Once that's done, make sure your phone is detected and click update.

No support at all lol for this phone, lol no matter I support myself, I have rooted device setup dual boot and built a recovery for this phone, now I like the phone.
Yes I know pics suck, I took them with a HTC EVO 4G, phone., back ups come out with 1970 date, I googled, just a date bug, doesn't bother anything. recovery boots to black screen, to overcome this , run scripts via adb in recovery then phone correctly displays cwm screen.

Xolo 8x 1000 Hive Ui port to Cherry Mobile Excalibur

Good Day Sir. I'm wondering if you can port Xolo 8x 1000 with hive ui Rom to my Cherry Mobile Excalibur. Both device share the same physical features, the only difference is that xolo has 2gb ram 16 gb rom while cherry has only 1gb ram 8gb rom. Thanks in advance and more power.
I'm on Hive now.
Finally I found a way to flash Xolo-1000 to our Cherry Mobile Excalibur....

Successfully Port XOLO-8x-1000 ROM to CM x150/EXCALIBUR
Good-day sir I soft brick my CM Excalibur because I messed up on the system.
I know I know you'll never gonna read all of this
So I decided to find an stock ROM for this CM x150 or known as Excalibur/XOLO-8x-1000 but yet I find nothing. Then I decided to take the risk. They say the CM Excalibur is a clone of XOLO-8x-1000 so I downloaded the ROM (link below):
Note: If your doing this you must take responsibility if anything might happen. But If you follow the step you have the higher chance of success. Backup first before anything!!!:good:
STEP - 1:
Link of the XOLO-8x-1000 ROM Media Fire
And the flashing tool:
SP-Flash-Tool-v5.1352.01 - Flashing tool
Note: Instead of using the in-zip flashing tools (in the Directory of "\Xolo 8x-1000 S020 21-07-2014\Flash Tool , the Sp splash tool will be used.
While you are downloading open this guide in a new tab:
STEP - 2:
Follow carefully Guide HERE :fingers-crossed:
Also:
MT6592_Android_scatter.txt is in the DIR of "\Xolo 8x-1000 S020 21-07-2014\Firmware"
Follow every steps using that guide.
After all downloads are done.
STEP - 3:
Extract both Zip Files to the Desktop or Anywhere else that you can easily access it. But I recommend Desktop Okay Okay it's up to you.
After extraction.
STEP - 4:
open the folder named SP Flash Tool v5.1352.01 their you can find the executable file named flash_tool.exe or just flash_tool run it as administrator so that it will gain a higher permission.
I assume that the flash_tool has been executed already.
STEP - 5:
Now -
READ ALL FIRST: Follow follow the link in Step - 2. The Image in the link I have provided might be different from the image above it's because they are using the older version than the image above. But no worry it functions the same, just the UI is different.
Now back to business. On the
click it and choose Firmware Upgrade.
The END.
Enjoy your Cherry XOLO-8x-1000-x150 hahaha

Hi Joel1977!
I also own a CM Xcalibur and recently, i clean installed a stock ROM of Xolo's 8x-1000 with HIVE UI and it worked fine. The one thing I noticed is though is the internal memory after flashing 8x-1000's rom into Xcali, the user available phone memory was reduced from 6.7GB to 2.2GB. Maybe its because the ROM is to huge a file that it occupies a much larger space in your phone memory, but that's not a problem coz you can install a microSD card to expand the storage space.
I've been using it for about 3 days now and I don't see any problems at all. Another good thing here is that whenever you connect to the internet, you always receive updates from HIVE team. Since I installed HIVE on my Xcali I've already received 3 updates which improved a lot of things in my phone like the camera, 3G connection, touch sensitivity, battery life and a lot more. Here are some screen shoots...
...and here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-xolo-8x-1000-infinix-zero-clones-t2979668 in case you wanna try flashing HIVE into your phone, GOOD LUCK
Yup Good News to CM Exclibur Owners
I already flash Xolo 8x-1000 to my Excalibur successfully.HIVE rocks! Antutu result is 28k and I think it's much higher than my former Excalibur with only 26k.Though internal memory is reduced but it's still ok with me 'cause I got 16gb external that can be max capacity to 32gb just be sure it's class 10 for a much faster data transfer.Xolo always provides updates and waiting for a Lollipop that Xolo confirmed to arrive to Hive Users.:good:

[Root] Phoenix OS x86/x64 v2.0.7 (13 June) Rooted Images

Hey guys, a new version of Phoenix OS (v2.0.7) is out and I have created rooted images for you guys to use.
Instructions:
Download the correct system rooted.7z file provided in the Download section and extract it
Install Phoenix OS and restart your computer.
Boot into Phoenix OS and finish the system initialization wizard. Restart the computer and boot into your main OS.
Go to C:\Phoenix OS (or wherever your Phoenix OS installation is) and replace the system.img file that's already there with the one you just downloaded
Reboot your computer now and boot into Phoenix OS.
Install the latest version of SuperSU. Sign in to Play Store using your Google account and update SuperSU that way. If you for some reason cannot use the Play Store, you can find SuperSU on the official thread. Download the flashable zip, extract Superuser.apk from the common folder, and install it in Phoenix OS by opening the .apk file with the default file manager that comes with the OS.
Update the binary by choosing Normal and your Phoenix OS should now be fully rooted

I tried opening G+ on the v2.0.6 and got the same error as you. Perhaps you can use the browser to browse G+ for now until a solution is available? Also, look into spoofing your deice model into a model of an actual tablet. Maybe that will work if you edit the build.prop file.
If anyone get's "grub minimal bash like line editing issue" when trying to boot
Hi I just tried phoenix OS. yesterday on my unbranded baytrail tablet (ub15ms10) I was stuck with this issue for a while and I finally came up with the fix using the grub prompt! (I used "rufus" to create the boot usb drive)
First, list your drives with ls ls Mine came up with hd0 and some others, but since I was booting from a usb drive, that's all that matters at the moment. hd0 will be the drive that you need so set it as the target and below is basically what you need to type to try it out without installing.
set root=(hd0,1)
linux /kernel root=/dev/ram0
initrd /initrd.img
boot
You should then be able to boot Pheonix OS 2.0.7 32bit. I did not try the 64bit version since there's no point because tablet has less then 4GB of RAM. What works: It makes good use of the tablet's GPU, it didn't lag in anyway for games such as clash royal. Browsing is good, playstore works..The performance is nice, It runs well on a 2GB ram tablet with a 1.3Ghz Intel Atom Z3735F. GPS works, bluetooth works.
What doesn't work: No audio, no brightness control. I didn't bother testing anything else since I lost interest as soon as audio didn't work. I'd probably be able to fix it myself by messing around with the kernel parameters but it's a PITA.

For the audio and other issues for baytrail/cherrytrail devices, someone made a kernel that apparently fixes these issues in debian/ubuntu which can be found here: https://yadi.sk/d/pW1Fbl-VyVPoR/Linux 4.12/Linux 4.12rc5. If someone else could use these kernels sources to apply a patch for android x86 that would be awesome.

What version of Phoenix OS do you have installed? If you have v2.0.7, you're in the right thread, so go ahead and download either a 32 or 64-bit version of the rooted image and replace it with your current system.img.
This will work on a Nexus 9 or it only works in pc's?
when i update su binary like you say it says to me installation failed
edit: ifound soulition its to update super su to the latest version with play store or aptoide or arc market or app vn and the install the binary data its soooo easyyyyyyy
Waiting for rooted system.img for Phoenix OS 2.1.0
SU Binary busy?
So I followed the instructions (although the step 6 is kind of confusing, English is not my native language so...) booted with the rooted sys image, installed superSU from the Play Store and when I open it it says "SU binary busy" and send me to a FAQ where it says that
"The SU files are already occupied by other software, such as Kingroot."
So I need to install the binary somehow? or something went wrong?
Oh BTW, used Root checker and it says it's not propely installed
Thanks for the image, buddy

I also ran into this problem using the newest version from the play store, I could avoid this though by installing version 2.79 through an apk.
But now it won't let me update the binary, since everytime I select "Normal" the installation fails after a minute or so.
Any ideas?
Guys, when to expect a rooted image for V 2.1.0 x86
thank you, but i bit confused about when i update the os,
so when i update the os, the rooted image will gone ? and i need to wait for another rooted image ?

(My English isn't very practice. If you have any question reading this post, please feel free to ask. I'll try my best to express.)
## 0. Update: 2018/04/16
Some information I got today:
1. OnePlus is doing a repartition in OP5 Open Beta 8 / OP5T Open Beta 6 (or earlier, who knows). It'll split the 1.5GB "last_parti" partition into a 1.0GB "vendor" and a ~500MB "reserve3" partition while booting the system.
2. Yes, the repartition process was done in system, not during OTA in recovery.
3. The official vendor partition is still unused (not formatted). OnePlus will fill it in a future OTA, said their engineer.
4. I think it won't be conflicted with our "homemade" unofficial Treble. I just tested that the stock H2OS/OxygenOS can run on our homemade partition table.
5. It's very easy to undo the unofficial treble. I'll make an undo flashable zip later (through it's unnecessary in this time).
6. Of course, MoKee now (since 20180417) can run on the official partition table too.
==========
The MoKee ROM is now shipping unofficial Treble update for OnePlus 5/5T since 20180411. As the maintainer, I would like to share some information here.
## 1. How is this possible for OP5/5T?
Project Treble requires 2 keys: a standalone /vendor partition, and fully binderized HALs.
In fact, OnePlus have a 1.4GB unused, unformatted partition "sdf6" on OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and 5T. This partition was possibly left by the ODM company, OPPO. OPPO R11/R11s series have a simular partition layout with OnePlus, and OPPO really did release an OTA update to enable Project Treble for their products.
The other key is binerized HALs. More specifically, the Camera HAL. The good news is, OnePlus recently released OP5 Open Beta 6 and OP5T Open Beta 4, with all fully binerized HALs, including the Camera HAL.
So as these 2 majar problems were solved. Project Treble is possible.
## 2. How did this come true?
To make Project Treble come true for OnePlus 5/5T, these should be done:
1. All vender-specific blobs should be moved to /vendor
2. Some blobs load config files from /system/etc. Just hex-edit them to load from /vendor/etc instead
3. Label and format that unused sdf6 partition as /vendor - this should be automatically done with an OTA script
4. The kernel should mount sdf6 as /vendor as well
## For users - How to enable Treble for OP5/5T?
The most easy way now is, flash the latest MoKee MK81.0 nightly build with latest TWRP (OP5: http://rom.mk/?device=cheeseburger, OP5T: http://rom.mk/?device=dumpling). The updater script will do the job automatically for you.
It's possible to make a flashable zip contains only the kernel and vendor image, without the MoKee system. But I'm busying on some other features. I'll do it later.
Tested fully works with Phh-treble system image, including:
- Audio
- Camera
- Phone & data
- Bluetooth & Wi-Fi
- Fingerprint
## For developers - How to ship Treblize update with my ROM?
(I'm organizing the patch list, I'll updte this section later)
## Can I flash non-Treble ROMs? How to "undo" this change?
You don't need to undo it, I think. For those non-Treble ROMs, including H2OS and OxygenOS, the /vendor partition is invisible. So you can flash back to any other ROMs at any time you want.
This is good news for us, thank you for your hard working!
So, once we flash the Mokee ROM, will we then be able to flash the other treble ROMs like RR and Lineage?

Please, read OP message fully
you are awesome, big thank you from every OP5/5t owner
Damn, Oppo enabled Treble but 1+ didn't
What a shame...
Does this mean that the camera quality will be as good as stock on a custom room?
@chenxingyu If we flash Oxygen OS again on the treblized 5/5T, won't it again repartion the device again and create the sdf6 partition again? Just a doubt.

No, as the normal update packages don't touch that partition. On the other hand, there's no repartitioning involved - the type, filesystem and mount point of /sdf6 are changed.

No, Oxygen OS doesn't know there's a partition named sdf6.
First of all appreciate your effort for bringing treble support for op5t.. am currently running xxx ROM and decrypted..questions I have is does blu_spark or codeworkx twrp support flashing system image..also if I flash mokee latest update then will it wipe all my internal storage data..also I read no_verity zip doesn't work so when we go back to other non-treble roms then format data is mandatory..am I right..
Can someone who has already installed a treble gsi try and install oneplus camera apk and see what's happens? Or maybe even gcam? Thanks

WARNING. Read carefully the sentences starting with ###.
2) BACKUP DATA AND INSTALL DRIVERS
Disable Antivirus.
Install drivers from my pack:
right click on HTCDriver.exe -> click on Run as administrator and continue the setup.
Then install HTC_BMP_USB_Driver_x64.msi (or *_x86 if you have a 32bits Windows edition).
### Install doesn't work ? Try these drivers for Win10 : https://htcusbdriver.com/download/htc-usb-driver-v4-02-0-001
Now go to my folder flash, and right click the adb 15seconds installer > Run as administrator.
During install, every time the command asks you a confirmation, enter Y and confirm with Enter.
Connect HTC One (while phone on) to PC, let drivers install.
In Windows explorer, HTC One should be available.
### If not make sure phone connection is in File transfer mode (see Android notifications).
Collect all personal photos, videos, etc ... and copy these on PC.
Use an app like Backupyourmobile to backup texts, contacts, etc.
Check that backup is located on microSD card.
Then copy the backup on your PC.
Disconnect phone.
### If your phone is Simlocked/carrier locked/Network locked, don't go further.
Visit official website of your network carrier (or call their support) to retrieve your desimlock code.
Ask them for details on how to remove simlock.
How do I know my phone is simlocked ? When you insert a SIM card from another operator, network is not accessible.
Only a stock ROM can remove simlock.
To go back from custom ROM to stock in 1 zipfile flash, follow this tutorial: https://tcg96.github.io/m7gurureset
3) UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
In Android, go to Settings > About > Software information > More.
Tap 7 times on Build number. It unlocks Developer options.
Go back to the About menu, you can see the new Developer options menu.
Tap on it, accept the warning.

Code:
cd /d C:\djibe\flash
Enter command :
Code:
adb devices
, confirm by pressing Enter.
Command returns :
Code:

Open your mailbox (associated to your HTC account).
Copy the Unlock_code.bin file attached to email in my "flash" folder you unzipped.
In Windows command, type :
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
, confirm with Enter.
Command should return :
Code:
unlock token check successfully
Back to phone, press Volume+ to select "Yes, unlock bootloader", then Power button to confirm flash.
Now wait while phone is going to Factory reset.
Don't let Android restart by holding both Power + Volume- to enter bootloader immediately.
FASTBOOT menu is overlined in red.
4) FLASH TWRP RECOVERY
Using the same Windows command prompt, enter :
Code:
fastboot devices
to make sure phone is still available.
Then
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.6.1_9-0-m7univ.img
Command returns :
Code:
finished. total time: x.xxxxs
##€ If it fails, tries with a Windows Powershell shell.
Now on phone, press Volume- to select Bootloader, confirm with Power button.
You are back to the booloader screen (UNLOCKED is written on top line), press Volume- to navigate to RECOVERY, and confirm with Power button.
Phone reboots in TWRP recovery.
5) WIPE PARTITIONS
In TWRP, check Never show this screen and Swipe to Allow Modifications.
You land on TWRP Home screen.
Go to Wipe > Advanced wipe.
Select Dalvik, Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage then Swipe to Wipe, go back to Wipe menu.
6) FLASH ROM, GAPPS AND ROOT (OPTIONNAL)
We first have to get our zips on the phone.
Still on TWRP Home screen, tap on Mount > deselect all partitions except Data, then connect phone to PC.
In Windows Explorer, you can see MTP Device, copy the zips of ROM, GApps, Magisk + Magisk Manager right in the Internal Storage folder.
Tap on Disable MTP once copy is finished.
Then back to Home screen, tap on Install > choose lineage*.zip,
(if you don't see the files, tap on Select Storage and make sure Micro SDCard is active)
then Add more Zips -> Magisk*.zip,
then Add more Zips -> bitgapps*.zip,
then Swipe to confirm Flash.
Wait for operation to end (can be long).
When completed successfully, tap on Reboot.
Tap on Do not install when TWRP asks for the app install.
Wait during long first boot.
Setup Android.
7) You can use Backupyourmobile to restore data,
use GPS Status & Toolbox app to enhance GPS fix.
That's it.
Enjoy,
djibe

The M7 is not equipped with a mircoSD card slot, only a virtual /sdcard (symlink to /data/media/0) ... So they'll either have to adb sideload or adb push the files to internal memory which is pointless at this stage since it will be wiped during bootloader unlock. Or drag n drop the files using mtp from twrp once it's installed on the phone.
3 ) UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
[...]
Now wait while phone is going to Factory reset.
Setup Android again on next boot.
4 ) FLASH RECOVERY
Now re-enable USB debugging in Android.
Using the same Windows command prompt, type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
again.

You could save a lot of time just force rebooting to bootloader (power + vol down) right after BL unlock/factory reset are completed so you don't have to setup the system you're going to wipe 2 steps later. USB debug anyway isn't required to fastboot flash recovery so it's not like booting back in system is mandatory before flashing recovery.
:good:
@alray : Thank you so much for help.
I'm lazy with baby waking up every night and did some awful copy-paste.
I correct all these right now.
Thanks.
I would highly recommend to use the official downloads of twrp, HTC drivers, roms and so on, you uploaded these files to your google drive and there is stuff in it nobody will ever need. And nobody knows if those files are in original condition. Strange thats the third time this year someone tries to get users to use their stuff (for a five years old device) there are already a lot of guides out there and several thousand people did it several thousand times without problems. Also you wrote that this would be official lineage but its unofficial, and for that there is already a thread here. The other two threads got deleted by mods because they tried to get users to use files from unknown suspects sources. Use android file host and maybe tell in los thread where those files are stored, whats the source and who made it.

Because you are a senior member you know where to download everything.
But everyone is not like you.
So I tried to compile a ready-to-go pack for the newcomers, like I did for many devices by know.
This allows noobs to profit from custom ROMs and don't keep it esoteric.
Like you say, many downloads are just hacks, so I tried to bundle lowest size safe files.

For the official LOS ROM, tell LOS to store official builds. As they don't do it anymore, we must rely on personnal builds.
A lot of guides out there ? Made extensive search for cracking this phone, never found a step by step one.
Five year old device ? Still so good once unleashed. Custom ROMs are for these devices isn't it ?
@djibe89 Might be useful to point out in your opening post that the 20180420 build has DT2W enabled, but I'd like feedback from people with a functional battery if it makes their device reboot or not, similar to issues reported in the original kernel thread. I suspect my battery is on its way out. The 20180416 build is completely stock upstream LineageOS, no DT2W.
Thanks for the credit .

All the custom roms mentioned above are NOT for your phone variant. There were almost no development for the 802 branch at the peak of it's popularity and I didn't see anything new for this variant in the past 2 years or so. I wouldn't expect a 7.1 roms for this variant...

Hi.
After installing Android 7.1 Google Pay stop working on my phone. I have torn on NFC communication but terminal don't read my card from app. I don't turn on access to root. Any aidia how to solve this issue?
I have an M7 that I would like to update Android on however the above is a bit over my head. I have seen other sites and video showing this to only take a few minutes and not requiring a PC. Am I missing something? I just don't quite understand the process of it all.

Flashing without a PC can be done but not recommended. If something goes wrong (and thrust me, it happens pretty often) you'll be stuck with a bootlooping phone.
The guide at post #1 is all you need, what part exactly do you have problem understanding?

Thanks for that. I tried to go through it nice and slow making sure I understood each step. I got to where I needed to open a command window on the "flash" folder to which I must have powershell(?) installed as it gave me that option. After inputting 'adb devices' it listed a device but stated it was offline. This is where I am stuck as the steps after this do not work.
drivers win10
Hi, I have a basic ask. Do you know where to get Win 10 drivers? I can't run the installer HTCDriver_4.2.0.001 on my Windows 10 (version 1803).
It gives me the error: The driver installer is not supported for your operating system. Thanks for your help.
