Are you rooted? The app is for rooted system as per link you shared. I hope flashing a full rom version thru fastboot will solve your problem.

Nexus 10 does not boot after Update

After attempt at installing software update to Nexus 10 tablet will not boot. Have wiped Cache and even then did a factory reset. Nothing. Google appears and then twirling colorful dots and nothing. For hours just twirling dots., Samsung and Google and Best Buy geeks says nothing they can do. No longer under warranty but very upset since tablet was working great until update. I am not very tech savvy but can anyone help or do I just have a new paperweight? Thanks for any advice.
I have not made any modifications to the tablet.
Just flash the newest factory image. Get it and the instructions to flash it from here:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
yes flash the newest image
After getting a notification of the latest update I went and rebooted for the update to install but it went to the twrp recovery and nothing happens, is there a way to install the update?

Hi Khaon, I have stock lollipop version 5.1.1 . (LMY47V) and latest twrp version. When upgrading it restarts and goes to recoverys main screen.
BTW how can I check which version my bootloader is?
same problem

as a newbie .I'm not allowed to reference your link !!
I rooted my nexus 10 using xda instructions., installed CWM. All good. I tried backup and recovery and screwed something up in recovery. Got stuck in recovery mode reboot loop. Many gyrations, no fix, so I tried factory reset. Still no fix.
I decided to install a new version of the OS using the Mantaray tar you reference above. UBS connecting and fastboot. All messages look good. Now I have the problem reported in this thread. Stuck with flying balls and no boot. Very interested in any suggestions you may have.

So you keep just boot looping into twrp, right ?
Did you try installing a custom ROM through adb or just connecting your device?
If it keeps boot looping you gotta to wipe the full storage.

No, on a normal reboot or a shutdown/restart it's fine no problems there but when I try to install the update via system update it reboots into twrp. I attach a pic of my system.

Oh I see, well, you should just flash a custom ROM or if you want to stay with official factory images, you should just follow instruction there:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
What you do need is just have fastboot executable once you are into the bootloader.
You can easily access the bootloader from twrp : shutdown > reboot into booatloader
Cool thx for your continued help :good:
The problem is due to your attempting an OTA update with a custom recovery (TWRP). You can only do OTA with stock recovery. Once you are in this situation, your easiest way out of it is to simply apply the latest factory image using "fastboot", but this will also wipe your user data so backup any photos, music, etc. before you start. You will also have to reload programs from Playstore once the new image is installed.

Help downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow and/or getting rid of System apps in N.

I have a problem with Nougat, and that is - i can`t deinstall system apps. I tried it with system app remover, but it fails on every app. Next i tried with a file manager, but that doesn`t work either. The folders + apk`s just won`t go away, even after a restart. Then i tried to deinstall some stuff via TWRP file explorer, but got a blank screen without any apps after loading into system again.
It wasn`t anything critical for the system to work (i know what i`m doing) so i don`t get where the problem is. I then tried to install Marshmallow, but got into a bootloop and had to reinstall Nougat.
So, if someone knows how to get rid of system apps on Nougat, or if you know how to downgrade, please tell me both. Thanks.
are you root? if so, i've had luck modifying system with Root Explorer. (not sure which explorer you were using)

I've had luck removing system apps with FX explorer, but I had to remount system R/W before it would let me. Also I'm rooted.
I'd advise against tying to downgrade from Nougat at this point, it has caused bricks for many people.

If you wish to get rid of system apps, simply flash via recovery, the lastest supersu vip; system[less], whichever your preference. If you haven't already flashed twrp after flashing Nougat, do so first.
Install Titanium Backup, and you're all set; I've done it myself and works as it should.
If you were trying to downgrade to Marshmallow, you'd need to do a backup + full wipe, and install the M bootloader, boot, system, etc, then you could restore a custom ROM backup, if you had one.

Thanks. I flashed the latest twrp and supersu before upgrading to Nougat, and they both made it through, so it`s all set up.
I think i`ll try to downgrade since i don`t see the big Deal with N as of now + i have a much worse mobile data signal after updating to it. It`s almost constantly on H instead of 4g /LTE.
If someone is interested in downgrading, here`s an exact instruction that i found here on XDA:
"Download the MM stock firmware and extract all of it to a folder. Then open a cmd/terminal in the download folder (shift and right click in windows I believe, just right click and there will be a option in linux).
Then do these steps in order BACK UP YOUR APPS!!"
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
The names will be a little different, and if you want twrp put it in place of the stock recovery!
PS: Don't flash userdata
If that fails, i`ll install titanium backup to at least get rid of all the google stuff, like music, photos etc.

When I got my phone back after RMA from the BLOD it was on 7.0 and the first thing I did was flash a 6.0.1 factory image. I picked the same build number as the last Pure Nexus build in MM. I don't think flashing factory images through fastboot is a big risk as long as you are paying attention and following a good plan. Any other opinions are welcome.

Dude, does it fixes your lte issues? Because i am facing the same problem with my nexus 6p + android 7.1.1.
I personally have never had lte issues on any build, 6.x.x or 7.x.x on any custom rom or stock.

https://developers.google.com/android/images You need a complete factory image flash, including /data.
I had LTE problems from 7.1.2b to 7.1.1 (while I didn't have them on 7.1.1 before switching to 7.1.2b) and they were solved by factory reset.

[Q] Bootloop after May security update

Hey everyone, I need some help.
I have Magisk installed, and wanted to preserve root acces throughout the update (may security patch, ~80MB). I used this guide to do it, uninstalled Magisk, installed it on 2nd slot during phase 2, rebooted: bootloop. Stuck in an endless cycle: the kernel loads, but always reboots during the andorid one boot animation.
I'm looking for a way to make it functional while not losing my data, or a way to copy my data to a PC before flashing.
What can I do now?
Thanks in advance.

You can choose to not wipe your data.
It's the "flash all except storage.bat"
You can download the last firmware here
http://en.miui.com/getrom.php?r=333&m=yes&app=false
You must have fastboot on your PC windows or Linux
So if you have a Windows just search how to install fastboot on Windows there's some great one on xda
Unzip the firmware open the flash all except storage bat
Remove both lines that contains
-OEM unlock
-OEM lock
Otherwise your data will be wiped and as you use magisk you want an unlocked bootloader
Open a powershell windows where the .bat file is
Then type without the quotes
"./flash_all_except_storage.bat"
Flashing procedure will take a few minutes on system partition but don't freak out
Once it's done reboot you'll be on 9.5.11 ROM version
You'll receive a 60mb ota to have the last one which is 9.11.13
You can boot TWRP to flash magisk now
And on next update download the last firmware
9.5.13 should be on the first link I gave you (there is always a delay between ota that are just patch and a full firmware that contains all the files)
Flash the boot.img or just reflash the ROM like above apply ota and reflash magisk
I ended up in the same situation but I think it's a technical problem where magisk is not concern I will not go into details but anyway this method is safe
JUST NEVER FORGET TO REMOVE THE OEM LOCK AND UNLOCK LINES since may update this will factory reset phone
ALWAYS USE THE "flash_all_except_storage" file
If you have some more questions I'm there

You will more than likely need to format data. This will cause you to loose everything. But that is what you are seeing, those folders, are your data. Just encrypted.
Also make sure you are on the latest version of TWRP. Sometimes the older unsupported version had encryption errors.
Omg this saddens me! So there's no way I am unable to at least retrieve my pictures?

First time entering in twrp after flashing update, I did not get folder to flash magisk, did a reboot and get it, just a bad encryption code I think
Did u flash rom or anything else before getting this problem ?
Yup, I sure did! 4am couldn't sleep so I thought I would finally put a fingerprint mod on; which I have done this before with no issues. For the life of me, I don't remember which mod I tried to install thru Magisk.
My phone is currently stuck on "Phone is starting"
I also think it's time to look into some sort of automatic back up service..... Got any ideas?

Good luck !!
I saw this happen when I used the official TWRP app.
It went away when I used this TWRP. Hope that helps.
I'm glad you already know not to use the MSM tool. Too many people jump straight to this.....
You just need to boot the correct recovery and your data will decrypt, and you will be able to back it up to a PC, then you can reload your ROM via TWRP or Fastboot to get the phone bootable again. So now it's a question of what ROM were you running before. Do you need a recovery with the latest security patch or something older? What TWRP are you running. Try 3.3.1-6 psychen6 linked too first. Boot that image from Fastboot. See if your password/pin will work to decrypt your data.

Missing emoji when returning to stock

I recently flashed my 6T to stock from EvolutionX and locked the bootloader, and somehow in the process, it seems my keyboard isn't able to display or type any emojis. The steps I followed are:
HTML:
1. fastboot reboot bootloader
2. fastboot boot twrp
3. flash latest OOS
4. reboot bootloader
5. fastboot boot twrp
6. flash OOS
7. boot system
8. reboot bootloader
9. fastboot oem lock
10. boot system and setup (sign in to google, etc)
Is there any step that I missed, or any way to recover this without rooting/unlocking again?
