[Q] Issues rooting Xperia Play

Carrier: Verizon CDMA (R800x)
Android Version: 2.3.2 Gingerbread
I have attempted to root my Xperia Play with the GingerBreak apk and SuperOneClick. I have followed both the programs directions exactly, but neither app works. On GingerBreak, it hangs on Rooting Device, and on SuperOneClick it hangs just after step 5 finishes. I have tried rebooting, rerunning GingerBreak, reinstalling it, and doing a full format on my SD card and nothing has worked.
Can I please get some help?
EDIT: I read a little more in-depth and heard it isn't possible to root this phone without unlocking it's bootloader because Verizon patched the Gingerbreak exploit or something. Is there anything else I need to know before I try to unlock and root it?
It is possible to root the phone withouth unlocking the bootloader.

I didn't want to unlock the bootloader either so this was my solution !
Works like a charm
But does that work on Verizon? If it does, thank you very much.

I rooted with the easy way, though, to flash, you'll need the fastnoot binary found here: http://www.multiupload.com/RS6367SQMT
Sent from my R800x using XDA App

Rooting

Hey all, so I've been looking over the forums and the web for a way to root my Lg-h872, only thing u can find are instructions on how to root the lg-h870. Any ideas???
I was able to unlock the boot loader though. Also the phone is on T-mobile.
There is no way to root H872 atm
That sucks. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Question, the bootloader is unlockable, but still no root is possible?

Root without PC?

Is this possible in any way? Will it be possible soon? Thanks.
The only way to root without a PC that I know of is an app like King Root. But you don't want King Root. It only works on certain phones and probably not this one because dual partitions make it much more difficult even if you have a computer. But King Root is pretty much malware. It loads adware onto your phone, sends unrestricted data to servers in China and refuses to give root access to any app that King Root considers a threat to any action that King Root wants to perform on your phone. The fact that anyone actually uses the app is unbelievable to me. There may be an auto root app that is less malicious but probably nothing that would work on this phone.

You need an unlocked bootloader.
You need a computer to unlock the bootloader.
You need a computer to flash the images.
There is no way to OEM unlock without a computer.

King Root actually works on some phones where the bootloader can't be unlocked. That was the only reason I tried that garbage app but any benefits from rooting aren't worth the problems caused by the app. If the bootloader is locked but you are rooted you can run apps that require root access like Titanium Backup (as long as King Root doesn't block root access like it does with Adaway) but you can't flash a custom kernel or custom ROM.

Any way to root Verizon Note 3 without a PC?

My pc has been broken for the past 2 weeks so I got a note 3 to keep me entertained until I can fix my pc and decided to tinker with it a bit and try to root it. With that being said is there ANY way to root it without a pc??? I have tried tons of "One-Click Root" apps like kingroot, kingoroot, iroot, towelroot, framaroot, cf autoroot and more. Any suggestions?

N900V requires rooting and bootloader unlock to install custom recovery and Rom. The only methods I know of require a PC and some bootloaders can't be unlocked.

LG Stulus 2 Duo Rooting?

I"m finding it impossible to find anything on rooting the LG Stylus 2.. I know it's an old phone but I'm hoping someone out there has a solution to this..
I've tried Kingo Root. Both the App and PC version fails to root the phone.
This phone is running Android 7.0.
I've rooted phones before. The last one I rooted was a Blackview BV6000 which was very easy to root using Smartphone Flash Tool and a root file.
Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks
does anyone even know how to unlock the bootloader.. The known method using adb doesn't work. Either does the method listed on their website.. It all requires you to boot into your bootloader which I can't get into.
has anyone been successful at unlocking the bootloader on this phone. LG-K520DY. ?
LG Stylus 2 Duo.
Did anyone find a solution?
