Slow charging in stock Pie. Asking for suggestion of roms with good charging speed - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

Hi,
My Max Pro M1 is not rooted yet and is running with pie. Phone's charging speed has drastically reduced now and it takes anywhere between 8 to 10 hours to fully charge the phone. Any solutions for this?
Thinking of exploring custom roms with decent charging speed and stable features. Can anyone suggest few roms that are stable with good charging speed?
Thanks,
Sai

DotOS is the most balanced ROM here. It wasn't updated for a long time but the ROM is very stable, best for daily use.

Best Rom

After doing a lot of research , I finally rooted , unlocked boot loader and install lineage 14.1 . The only problem is that I'm not even close to satisfied with battery life . Using eui for a few months have spoilt me , getting ana average of 7-9 hours sot . Now I can barely get past 5 .
So what I'm asking is , what's the best stable rom in terms of performance and battery life .

I am using AICP and while it's nowhere near stock I'm pretty happy for an Oreo ROM. I was getting 2 and a half days between charge on modified stock I getting about 30-35 on AICP and about 5-6 hours of SOT
I've been using aicp(Oreo) for around a month.pretty much everything works good.I can usually go 2days between charges with moderate use like listening to music and lots of web surfn.i can easily make it a day+ with considerable increase in usage such as streaming videos and playing games.Im usually going for stock ROMs but the devs of all these custom ROMs have really out done themselves and I don't even feel drawn back to stock at all.
I installed omni yesterday with a custom Kernal going to be testing battery life today
Not sure how accurate this is , but it seems to be going well so far

Is this one the lates stable validus build, right?
Have you done any changes on kernel like changing governor and overclock etc? I mean, how do you get this high score on antutu?

Omni is a fantastic Nougat Rom I had fantastic SOT using the he black screen for Omni kernel. ( BlackScreen-omni_3.62.img)
With Oreo I have great battery life and long SOT using in this order Pixel Experience 02/29 build, Lineage 15.1 builds and AICP 13.1 builds

I'm currently on omni , it was great for about a week but now im experiencing weird shut downs at any percentage where it says " 0% " . I reboot the phone and it's fine but if my phone goes under 20% it doesn't charge until I reboot the device

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
With the latest EU rom (8.4.12), I got around 8.5 hours to do the web surfing through wifi (no video, audio) with the auto brightness about 50%.
Hope it helps.
I lost about 1% battery for every 5.3-5.6 minutes to be precised.

If you use it all the time you get 5-7h SOT easily, however if you don't use it much you get around 4h because (at least for me) there's always some drain on latest china rom. I have to wait until the bootloader is unlocked to test it with xiaomi.eu or global rom

I have problems with latest EU rom (8.4.28) which based on China Dev 8.4.26, my phone become unbearable lag and slow down.
They did something wrong with 8.4.26 kernel....

Try rolling back to 8.4.12, I've heard it's much more polished overall.
BTW, battery life on official Xiaomi Global ROM is beyond fantastic, I'm straight shocked.

Nice, I'm currently on China rom and getting 5-7h, looking forward to global rom now
Hi, anyone using the global edition, where the unit is not pre-flashed by vendors? just wondering how the battery life is compared to the mix 2, oneplus 6 and p20 pro.
GSM arena currently shows the mix 2s as having really bad battery endurance. but im assuming that was the china rom. Anyone can validate?
You seen the screenshots above your post?
First cycle.. very good. hopefully it will be better. Coming from huawei mate 10 to oneplus 5t to mi mix 2s. Love ips lcd display.
Battery has been great, not much of a mobile gamer so i believe i'm a moderate user. So far between 8 to 9 hours of sot in 35 to 40 hours cycles.

Same here, but I've never got more than 6h SOT with 24h usage
I don't game much, the heaviest use i gave it was the camera. No NFC, bluetooth or gps. Just regular use, like 2 to 3 hours of YouTube, Facebook, watching movie or anime and lots of web browsing get me 8 hours at least on every charge.
Hi, I've had my Mi Mix 2s for a couple months now. I have the 256gb variant, still rocking the chinese rom. Max screen on time I get with the phone is 3 and a half/ 4 hours.
Judging from other people's reviews thats much lower than average. So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to try improve it? Does the global rom help improve it?
I'm with Global rom miui 10 beta and battery is bad I get max 5h of use and even before with miui 9 it was not great also. Great phone all good except the battery at least for me coming from OnePlus 5 and 5t.
How is the battery lately, in the most recent updates?

Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 9.0 Treble Port - Kernels Comparison

As you all know the final version of Android 9.0 (PR) was recently ported to Xiaomi Mi A1 by taking advantage of Project Treble. Although there are more than one Kernels out there with Treble support, there is no thread to actually compare them. So if you have tried this port, please write down your experience with the Kernel you used.
Iam using the Custom Rom Treble non OC Kernel from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/development/kernel-extreme-kernel-1-0-mi-a1-t3769702
With that i get the most Battery life out. About 2 Day´s without charging and mostly reading News, Texting with Whats App, and Listening much Music.
So not much intensive and no Gaming.
Last Charge was before 16 hours and 5 Days are left, because i do nothing with the Device =P

Android Pie and this why he ask what Kernel are good for this one and you only can use Pie with Treble .
But back to SOT it is now 54min. Last charge was 41 hours ago and i have left about 1 Day and 17 hours :fingers-crossed:
So next charge maybe at least 20% in the next evening.
My personal best from now on is eXtreme! Been using Moun on Oreo and on Pie, after using eXtreme for few days, difference was quite noticeable so imho eXtreme is the best kernel for balanced/battery life when tuned properly!

Oh, I'm currently on 8.1 Liquid Remix ROM and honestly don't remember what exactly I tweaked. I've used Kernel Adiutor, changed few thing regarding CPU, disabled Fsync, enabled one CPU when screen is off, Schedule workqueues on awake CPUs, that much I can remember. I am not heavy user, just listening music on Youtube Vanced app, using social media apps, browsing the web with Brave etc... Getting 2 days without charge with 5-6hrs of sot and about 10% battery left.
Right now I didn't change anything on Liquid Remix and battery life is still amazing compared to Moun or Mint kernels. eXtreme just gives great results without tweaking anything

It works awesome on rooted stock ROM. Enables fast charging speeds as well. Battery life has been improved by miles.

SOT cannot be same for everyone. But I get good two days of usage.
Charging speeds are also better than the Stock. I don't know the speeds as the stock rom doesn't show it on the charging screen.
One more thing: This is some machine learning algorithm. So will take a while to 'set-in' on your phone for maximum effects.
No more battery drain in night

Battery Charge Limit doesn't work on Mi 9T with Pixel Experience ROM 10.0-20200221

Hello: I've rooted my phone and installed Pixel Experience ROM 10.0. I typically install Battery Charge Limit on my phones because it stops charging when reaching an assigned charge level, as if the charger was removed. I use it as a means of preserving battery longevity and to prevent overcharge.
However, it doesn't work with my 9t with pixel experience. I haven't tried other ROMs as it's the first custom ROM I am trying after I rooted the 9T. Any suggestions on fixes? Or maybe alternative battery charge control software?
Thanks.

Vor may have to find the correct control file for Xiaomi devices.
On my Motos it has been "charging_enabled" but I heard of several devices that need a different file. Maybe check Google for it, I own my 9t since about a week and I discovered that on MIUI and Xiaomi custom ROMs a lot of things are different.

Use Advanced Charging Controller. There is thread on XDA about it. Just google. Here is the latest APK. You need root to make it work. Works perfectly on every rooted Android phone I have.

Just stumbled across this thread, and wanted to let you know that crDroid ROM support "Smart Charging" feature to stop charging at a customized level and without rooting of course.
