Working GSI? - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

I'm using AOSPEX and it works fine but I'd like to play around with some other ROMS. I see the other thread from a while ago discussing GSI support but reading that thread it went cold. So, do any of the Erfan GSI ports work? Specifically
-Oxygen OS
-Android 10
And are they stable enough for daily use?

Porting Flyme OS 6 ?

Hi. so after almost a year and a half of using my 6p I'm kinda getting bored of this "stock" experience HA
Miui8 is ported however it is so out of date and it doesn't support xposed so it is not really ideal. after searching i found out that Flume 6 form Meizu have rolled out in beta this April and I was thinking if anyone here is having planes to port it for us. I am gonna follow this guide to try and port it however i have zero experience in this so I am not sure if it is gonna work out for me:

If you are determined to use Xposed then you need to stay on a Marshmallow based Rom, so whatever Rom you find that is compatible with Xposed is going to be dated. Xposed never worked with Nougat based Roms and Android is already testing Android O. Unless you like outdated versions of Android Xposed is pretty much dead.

Android 9 pie rom for Moto X play

Waiting for Android 9 pie rom for Moto X play. As someone is working on that...?
are you kidding me it literally just came out on AOSP lol and we have no stable oreo rom without battery drain or some kind of bug. face it android pie is not coming to the mxp
Man, we are still not able to get a stable Oreo ROM and you want a Pie ROM?
probably, we will get the 9. Alpha version 9.0 already started testing by some dev.
AEX for Android 9 by Infinite4ever is available on AndroidFileHost you can download from there.

@althafvly you might get help here.
I am more than willing to test but I use lux as a daily driver for a 10 to 12 hour day almost daily.
Guys let the squid solve the bugs in the nougat. That device tree will be taken forward to oreo and maybe pie also. Just wait. There are errors in the audio Hal in official nougat lineage thread. The developer used the audio Hal built from source. Initial source tells he was successful. But someone from thread told that it's not working. When I asked him to submit the logs he just vanished lol. That happens. People don't want the developer to help with troubleshooting with errors but want everything in classy way. Install lineageOs and if you found bugs help the Developer with the logs. Just wait he said oreo will come.

So I just ordered the verizon variant of this phone.

I am looking for some basic information. Does the second screen work in the latest official nightly build of Lineage OS. Now that a legit android 8 is releasing for this phone, will there likely be official support for lineage 15.1?
Edit: Also, I just realized I posted this is the wrong place. Mods feel free to move it to q and a or wherever. Sorry, it's late.

Official? No, development of the second screen is for lineage 15.1, and there are currently unofficial builds with it working pretty well (landscape mode still doesn't work and a handful of other minor issues) done by both our lineage maintainer x86cpu and by the second screen developers themselves. Official lineage 15.1 support will come at some point when things are super stable, right now things are still in flux a bit, one big thing is working on enabling full project treble support.

Thanks, I use my phone for business purposes and I need a stable rom. What do you recommend? I am looking at super-rom.

Eh I suppose stock based roms like super and alpha rom are a a bit more stable than lineage. I mean lineage 15.1 is solid, but has some minor issues and quirks, while stock based roms have been rock solid.

OOS Cam on LOS based ROMs

Hi, I read in a now closed Telegram chat, that someone got the OOS camera fully working on Havoc OS. I'm on Havoc too and I cannot get it running. Does anyone have any idea?
The guy seems to have found the files here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/themes/lineageos-oneplus-5t-oxygenos-camera-t3793997
From what can read from the link, this project seems to be working on the OnePlus 5 with lineage (read post #26). Anyone can confirm that? I'm in holiday and can't try ?

Will we get Treble for GSI ?

Hello,
after testing out lots of ROM with Treble, I used some GSI and some of them worked more some less. In the Treble Development department I found a working AOSP 9 GSI. The ROM did work quite good and I would use it as a daily driver, but sadly the battery consumption was the greatest I ever had.
Maybe it is because of the ROM, but after all the vendor image should also be good. The only one we can use is from nfound and he left us...
So, what do you think? Will there every be a vendor image we can use for GSI?
yes.
Did you try this one: [AOSP 9.0] [EXPERIMENTAL] [2018-08-22] Phh-Treble ?
Cause this is the one, that gives me a SOT of about ~ 5h , which is ok for me right now ...
(altough, using AEX 5.8 SOT was 6-7h for me ...)
But it is in development ...

There is another one based on this one, because this one gave me to much errors. Maybe the new GSI got better...
Did you flash some post GSI zips or did it work out of the box?
So at the moment we only have nfounds vendor image which boots up most gsi, but there are problems not solved. My great hope was that we will get a good vendor image with lineage, but it does not boot any gsi at the moment.
Nfounds vendor seems to be compatible with Oreo and pie. At the moment there is no sign for a pie only vendor image what would be great
Do all the GSIs available for the A7 get the irritating "vendor image mismatch" or "there's an internal problem with your device" on every bootup? I know it can be ignored but it's just annoying as hell. What causes this? I read that it has something to do with the boot/vendor signature/fingerprint not matching what the ROM expects to see. Is there a solution that makes these messages go away? I'm interested in trying a Treble Oreo GSI, but I need a daily driver that can be counted on, and so far I've had very little luck with getting GSIs to boot.
Which vendor image and boot image is correct for an A7 running a Treble ROM? The ones by Nfound? Or LineageOS? Or something else? It would be nice if ZTE would update our device to official Oreo and officially adopt Treble and a vendor partition. The A7 is classified by ZTE as an end of life/support device, with the Axon 9 due soon, the least they can do is bless us with this one last gift as a farewell.
I wouldnt mind running Pie, but I like using Xposed modules, so no go there. On the Oreo GSIs I've tried, exFAT MicroSD usually shows up as corrupt. This is unacceptable to me. And I must have my cache and data partitions as F2FS, for best performance. And a custom kernel.
