Running an old instance of One plus camera app on the same phone? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
So I liked the selfie stock camera app that came with OP6T (v2.10) and was wondering if there is a way to install this older version of the camera app as a 'different camera app, while KEEPING the new version of the camera app on the phone?
I tried to rename 'label' in the manifest, but it still asks me if I want to 'update existing' app - so obviously the phone knows I am trying to install an older version of this same app. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

Your can't have two different versions of the same app, changing the name isn't enough. There was an app that was able to 'clone' an apk but I'm not sure this app still exists

Because I'm trying to do this on a 7T... i'm a little afraid to ruin the phone setup / stock camera app that came installed (v3 something.)
Will installing the older app overwrite the new app ?? Is it okay to do or can spoil something on the phone?
I was hoping to have the option to pull up the V2.10 app by having a second camera app.
I'm not well versed with modding so hope you dont mind my queries - thanks!

You can't in any phone, it's Android design.
You can try apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloneapp.parallelspace.dualspace. If you manage to clone the old one for example to install it. You can't ruin anything as long as you don't erase the original app. And it's just an app, easy to put back
Or any other that you could find. Honestly I don't really understand why you want those 2 oos app
Stock OOS cam is 3.8. something on OP6t now

[Q] 5mp Camera cab?

I've been reading about new builds that have fixed the 3mp camera issue to 5mp. i'm on a desire build that has pretty much no problems and really do not want to flash a new rom. is there a camera.apk file or something that i can modify in the android directory to fix the camera issue? if so, can anyone lead me to them? I've done a lot of searching and can't find much. phone is 99% perfect except for this one thing that bugs me lol. thanks in advance.
or is it possible to download a newer android rom, copy the camera files and just replace them on my existing build? if so, which files would they be?
Download "Camera 360" from the market. Seems to have set everything straight for me.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
You can also use Vignette.
i've tried both apps and they still won't go higher than 3mp. i guess the only way must be to install a new rom hu?

i just noticed my darkstone froyo 3.1 is 3MEGAPIXEL

I'm assuming you can just move the file to anywhere on the sd card and then just look it up and install using a file explorer. (I use ES file explorer)
Thanks guys. Now I just need to know how to install the kernel and stuff, lol...

Easy way to get your apps back in a new android version!

I'm really irritated by the fact, that when I install a new android version, that I always have to install all my apps app by app.
It might sound like a logic and stupid solution, but in the Android map, there's a submap called AndroidApps(or Android Apps).
Put all your apps you want to have on your new android version, and you have them back with first start!
Let me know if it works with all the android version. For the Mdeejay Desire Z 1.1 version it worked!
And excuse me for my bad English, still learning!
I already know that, and yes that will work. But i use titanium backup for that, because it also backups the system settings for the apps. So you do not have to configure them again
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
mybackup pro also works very well and is a lot easier for begginers than titanuim backup.
but tb is a brilliant backup app and works very well for me
Ok, so where do you get these apps again? Are they apps?
On the market, they are not free, but it is every penny worth of it.

Yes, As I said you can download your apps from another site so you have the apk's. And then put it in the folder.
I recently upgraded my Android build from MDeejay's HD v3.4 to 3.6 and left all folders on the SD card from the previous build, just replacing the Android folder and all my apps restored themselves once I opened the Market. First time I've left all the program folders on when changing versions but will be doing this going forward as found titanium backup can corrupt some versions and isn't recommended with some. Takes 2mins to re-sign in to apps.
Titanium backup free works for me, but I believe if you keep the data.img when you change Roms (a new one is created on first boot), all your apps and settings will carry across.
Worked for me.

Android Market "not compatible"

Hi,
I've got a problem with the Android market.
I'm running Hyperdroid on my HD2 and was trying to download the App "SlideIT" from the Market.
Unfortunatly there is no download or install button on the Market app on my phone.
I tried using the Market via the browser on my PC and there it says that "this app is not compatible with my HD2". So I can't install it from there either.
Is it possible to make the market think that I'm using a desire or something? Could anyone help?

dude, i think that the problem is in your android rom, the app u need , might not be capable on running on your rom. But there is always a way out.
Weather u can flash another rom, or rather if u dont want to do it u can simply go to 'THIS LINK' , u can download all the apps from your pc. and put the fil in to your mobile via disk drive.
open the file explorer
and just install the app, and enjoy.
"Dont forget to push the 'Thanks' button.
Well I was using the software (SlideIT) before on my rom, but accidantially deleted it. So it's working on my rom.
I guess the problem is the phone model name which seems to be transferred to the Market.
I mean there isn't any HTC HD2 Android device except for the ones with custom roms.
I guess it would be helpfull to change the modell name to Desire or something like that. But it doesn't seem to be possible.
As I bought the App in the market it seems there is no other way to get the (full) version anywhere else.
Is there a way to downgrade the Market app to the old version?
EDIT: found a way to downgrade to the old market version (http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-downgrade-android-market-3-0-26-to-old-market-tip/) and with this one I can download the App again!

[Q] What is the best Camera app for the G2?

I recently bought the G2 and apparently it has a really nice camera, but I'm just not seeing it, as the stock camera app seems to be doing a rubbish job. Does anyone have a solution, like a better app or another phones app ported over? Or are we just sticking it out?
The stock camera is the best of them all....If you want to improove it more, you need to be rooted and with a custom recovery, then install a camera mod that helps quite alot.
